Chapter 696 |
“Probably?” Wei San turned a page. “Master Yu hasn’t come looking for us these past two days.”
“She was reminiscing with commentator Lu and other teachers on the starship.” Ying Chenghe had seen Yu Tianhe’s expression that morning; it wasn’t exactly nostalgic. “She was probably held up by commentator Lu.”
……
Starship Observation Deck.
Yu Tianhe stood among the accompanying teachers, listening to Lu Zhengxin reminisce about the past. A hint of impatience flashed across her usually gentle and smiling face.
Originally, she planned to go aboard the starship to find an opportunity to talk to Wei San and the others and win over the five of them, but Lu Zhengxin unexpectedly interfered.
“I remember when our Pingtong Academy’s starship had a problem, we were temporarily assigned to starships at various military academies.” Lu Zhengxin looked at the equipment around him with a touch of nostalgia. “That’s where I was assigned.”
“Wei San is talking to the mecha engineer? I’ll go take a look.” Yu Tianhe completely ignored Lu Zhengxin’s words, since the entire Federation knew they were enemies anyway.
“Master Yu, you are, after all, a mecha engineer. It’s not appropriate for you to interact with these students in private.” Lu Zhengxin didn’t mind being interrupted from his previous conversation, but his words were a clear attempt to stop her from going over there.
Yu Tianhe was willing to mentor these students, and Xiang Minghua was overjoyed. He immediately agreed and then pulled Lu Zhengxin aside to continue reminiscing about the past.
Lu Zhengxin: “……”
After leaving these people, Yu Tianhe walked towards the conference room, where she encountered students asking which conference room Wei San was in.
She walked to the meeting room door and knocked.
“Come in.” It was Ying Chenghe’s voice.
As soon as Yu Tianhe entered, she saw Wei San sitting at the conference table, engrossed in writing and drawing, while Ying Chenghe was using a computer to model data.
“Master Yu?” Ying Chenghe turned his head to look at the door and exclaimed in surprise. They had mentioned Yu Tianhe earlier.
“I heard you were exchanging ideas with the mecha engineers from the school team. Are you done?” Yu Tianhe walked in and closed the door behind her.
“That’s all for today.” Ying Chenghe raised his hand and turned off the personal terminal.
Wei San didn’t look up. She was helping the mecha engineers of the General soldier’s squadron modify the structure. Yu Tianhe walked to her side, looked down at the component breakdown diagrams in her notebook, and stopped after just one glance.
Regardless of the actual construction, her drawing skills alone surpass those of most advanced mecha pilots in the Federation.
Even Yu Tianhe herself might not be able to paint as well as her.
Looking at the exploded view of the parts she drew, Yu Tianhe immediately noticed something: “Is this the engine structure used in a level B mecha?”
Wei San finished the last stroke and then looked up: “That’s right.”
Yu Tianhe sat down, suppressing the complex emotions in her heart: “Have you discussed what happened before?”
Wei San closed her notebook: “Master Yu, don’t worry, of course we will join you, but Jin Ke will have to talk to you about the specifics.”
Yu Tianhe was not at ease at all; these little brats were all cunning and slippery.
Back then, upon learning of the great calamity that had befallen the Federation, countless people were willing to bear a lifetime of infamy just to join the Independent Army.
“Jin Ke is coming soon, Master Yu, wait here.” Ying Chenghe said, looking at his personal terminal.
“Okay, I’ll wait here.” Yu Tianhe said slowly. She had clearly been in control at the beginning, but now she was being led by the nose by Damocles and their group without even realizing it.
About ten minutes later, Jin Ke, Huo Xuanshan, and Liao Runing came in together. Wei San went out with the notebook, leaving the negotiation entirely to Jin Ke.
Wei San stood at the door, waiting for the mecha engineer from the General soldier’s squadron to come over and give her the disassembled diagrams of the improved mecha parts drawn in his notebook.
“It’s…… all revised?” The General soldier’s squadron mecha engineer took the papers and stammered.
“Take a look first, and try it when you get to the White Dwarf. If it doesn’t work, come back to me,” Wei San explained, pointing to the breakdown diagram on the paper.
The mecha engineer suppressed his surprise and listened attentively to her words, becoming more and more excited as he listened, wishing he could land immediately and go to the workshop to get one.
“That’s roughly it. This is just one step. If you want a B-level mecha to fully unleash the power of an A-level mecha, there are still many things that need to be changed,” Wei San said earnestly.
“I know.” The general mecha engineer nodded. “I’m also thinking about how to make the other parts.”
