Chapter 464: Cho Hyejin’s Instruction Manual (9)

The historical first night out ended just like that. Actually, it ended kind of tragically. Jo Hye-Jin told him that she was fine and that she could walk on her own.

She also tried to stop him from contacting the guild, but she couldn’t stop the determined Kim Hyun-Sung. Soon, the security guards of the guild arrived and took the drunk Jo Hye-Jin home.

Kim Hyun-Sung walked a few steps behind her because he seemed worried about making unintentional physical contact, which gave me a headache. I was sure that he had gotten traumatized after being backstabbed by that mysterious bitch.

‘Who the hell is she…’

One of the most powerful tools I had at my disposal was now useless. Subtle physical contact was tremendously effective in making a man and a woman become even closer to each other. Obviously, physical contact without consent would make people a molester, but it wasn’t like Kim Hyun-Sung and Jo Hye-Jin hated each other.

‘It’s not like they don’t know each other either…’

Physical contact like touching each other’s shoulder lightly or lightly touching the back of each other’s hands as they swayed their arms while walking were ways to create intense sexual tension between a man and a woman.

Back on Earth, the cheesy and cliche method of touching each other’s hands while eating popcorn never actually worked.

Honestly, at their age, they could drink, make a mistake, and then start dating.

Those steps often started by becoming a bit closer and rapidly developing their relationship after some kissing. We could use the same method, but I couldn’t imagine them doing that, so small events like the above were important.

It wasn’t much, but light physical contact was important when seducing Kim Hyun-Sung because it would make him realize that Jo Hye-Jin was a woman, but that method was useless now.

‘That’s one method down the drain.’

Kim Hyun-Sung was also carefully watching Jo Hye-Jin, so that method was out of the question. In addition, Kim Hyun-Sung’s monster-like reflexes didn’t allow even the tiniest non-consensual collision of shoulders or even a light touch at the back of their hands.

‘This is wrong...’

Of course, it wasn’t like they didn’t have a good time today. We used all sorts of excuses to drag Kim Hyun-Sung to the field, and they actually enjoyed their time together a lot.

However, Kim Hyun-Sung didn’t invade Jo Hye-Jin’s personal space, and the latter was obviously not allowed to enter his personal space as well. He would even take a step back whenever they got too close to each other, and he also made a conscious decision to avoid getting too close to her.

To make things worse, whenever Jo Hye-Jin tried to discreetly get close to him, Kim Hyun-Sung would use magic to dodge.

He was actively avoiding Jo Hye-Jin as if she had leprosy.

Fortunately, Jo Hye-Jin seemed like she wasn’t offended or hurt at all. It made sense because, for her, physical contact was something that should be done after becoming a couple, so I knew that she wouldn’t really be hurt by Kim Hyun-Sung’s avoidance.

If a miracle were to happen and they ended up together, I was sure that she would remain a virgin until marriage—probably unintentionally.

Aside from the physical contact, all this was only made possible because Jo Hye-Jin didn’t just stand idly by.

It was rare for her to stay up late with Kim Hyun-Sung after going to a theater, and they started meeting up often after work after their first night out, so I was sure that she was overjoyed by the development.

She even thanked me personally, but I wasn’t really happy about the situation.

‘Hyun-Sung… I thought she could seduce him with one finger…’

It worked for Bitch Ki-Yeon, and if I were to exaggerate a bit, Bitch Ki-Yeon could probably seduce him with her toes. However, the large castle wall that suddenly grew as tall as a mountain was truly impregnable.

They looked like they were getting along really well on the outside, but there weren’t any tangible results. Lee Ji-Hye had tried controlling the avatar herself, but it got even worse. Jo Hye-Jin was all smiles, but the atmosphere in the control room had soured.

She was so happy, so I felt bad for saying that there was no hope.

I thought we would be able to complete the mission in a short amount of time, but this would definitely take at least ten years. Of course, I wasn’t really in a hurry because my goal had always been to make Kim Hyun-Sung take a break, and he had a good break.

‘The problem is that he didn’t show any interest in Jo Hye-Jin.’

The forced task I had given Jo Hye-Jin involved dragging Kim Hyun-Sung out of the training hall and the office. It was a bit uncomfortable for me to say that we had forced him, but we had succeeded in making him relax.

Jo Hye-Jin and Kim Hyun-Sung even spent their time at a cafe, watched another play again, visited the auction house, and they had even spent all their money at the casino.

I was worried that he would get stressed, but it seemed that he was also a human because the activities lifted his mood and made him happier. He had also stopped being obsessed with the shoe.

In other words, we were having trouble with the side quest, but the main quest was progressing smoothly.

I couldn’t give an exact diagnosis, but it seemed that the fogginess in Kim Hyun-Sung’s head was slowly disappearing. I was concerned about him, so there had been times when I had to step in and check if he was doing fine.

Obviously, I kept on complimenting Jo Hye-Jin’s appearance whenever I was with Kim Hyun-Sung because I was still eager to complete the side quests.

Kim Hyun-Sung looked like the demon was still in his head, but he trusted me a lot, so I was confident that my words would influence him somewhat. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really sure if my words were effective.

It had been a long time since I had fun with him, and he was also starting to get used to the idea of taking breaks.

‘Yeah, rest while you can. Resting is a good thing, Hyun-Sung.’

Things would only get busier from now on, and I would soon lose the luxury of providing fresh oxygen to his exhausted brain.

I created a festival of griffons on the continent and sent him there with Ji Hye-Jin. I owned a griffon, so Kim Hyun-Sung looked like he wanted me to go with him. However, I didn’t have the time to enjoy a festival.

The big festival displayed griffon saddles, accessories, and items related to griffons, and many people participated in various competitions.

I created this festival using the money I didn’t really own just for Kim Hyun-Sung’s sake, but the people reacted better than I thought, so I actually profited overall.

Of course, the festival had a bigger impact on Kim Hyun-Sung. I wasn’t sure if the griffon festival sparked something in him, but he started taking breaks of his own will.

It didn’t mean that he had gone completely out of control. By my standards, his willingness still wasn’t enough, but in his eyes, I was sure that he had changed a lot.

In addition, everyone in the Blue Guild kept on suggesting that he took a break, and whenever I had time, I also made sure to tell him the importance of taking a break. I intentionally spent more time with him, and I also included Jo Hye-Jin in our meetings.

At first, Kim Hyun-Sung was hesitant about the concept of taking breaks, but he had to have realized that I was right because he had become a bit more aggressive when it came to having fun.

He had become more relaxed, and the sense of urgency in his expression couldn’t be seen anymore. It was such a drastic change that even I was amazed. I was sure that he was finally aware of the importance of taking breaks.

I wasn’t that knowledgeable about swords, so I wasn’t really familiar with them, but Kim Hyun-Sung seemed like he had a tiny goal that he wanted to achieve.

Naturally, a great sword couldn’t be made if one were to hammer away without much thought. The process also involved meticulous and careful quenching. Anyway, it was a slow process, and I thought that Kim Hyun-Sung had to slow down as well.

It was just my personal assumption, but I thought that if I hadn’t intervened and forced him to take breaks, he may have shattered sooner or later. Therefore, it was better to take a step back and take things slowly rather than in a hurry.

After all, consistently doing the latter meant that one would be prone to burnout.

‘But why am I…’

“...”

‘But why am I… shit…!’

For some reason, I was getting busier. I had been preaching about the importance of taking breaks, but I couldn’t take a break myself because I had a knack and the urge to get things done.

Of course, I also took breaks whenever I got the chance, but I still had a ton of work.

My biggest everyday task was creating a schedule for Kim Hyun-Sung to enjoy. The griffon festival gave me a ton of work. I gave our subcontractors overtime pay, but I still had a ton of paperwork to process.

This meant that just because I wanted a festival to happen didn’t mean that it would happen just like that. Therefore, I had to stay up late just to make sure that I would process the documents in time.

Whenever I woke up the next day, I would feel even more tired than yesterday. My body was clearly telling me that I was tired.

For some reason, Jung Ha-Yan seemed like she was becoming more and more energetic as time went on, so I had to drink rejuvenating potions just to make sure that I wouldn’t collapse out of exhaustion.

In addition to processing a ton of paperwork, I also had to control my avatar, Jo Hye-Jin.

I also had to prepare for the upcoming threat, so it wasn’t strange that I was tired.

As usual, I made sure to meet Father Basel as well as my maid Aris—no, Oscar. I also met with the senators to consult them about what they thought of certain ideas.

Of course, I met with Jung Ha-Yan and Cha Hee-Ra whenever I had time, and I also took care of Elena, who was starting to adapt to the way of living in the Blue Guild.

Smartie, Dialugia, and Max also needed my attention, so I spent time with them as well.

In some ways, meeting other people could be considered a break, but I didn’t think that it was true in my case.

Playing with Smartie could never be considered a break. Even worse, Smartie was also starting to express her strange ambition once again. Moreover, trying to maintain a balance between Jung Ha-Yan and Cha Hee-Ra was extremely exhausting.

Dialugia and I were also at odds with each other on certain topics, and it was also tiring to deal with her. However, I didn’t really mind doing all this work because the more I worked, the faster the continent would develop.

The foundation of the continent’s joint training was set, and the date had already been decided as well.

We were also preparing to accept new recruits.

The many nations of the continent were signing agreements with each other, and the military provisions and funds of every nation also increased as the continent became more unified.

Of course, not every issue had been resolved, but the foundation was already established, which was great. Obviously, I still had to know Kim Hyun-Sung’s opinion about all this.

During all this, I got frustrated and decided to visit Kasugano Yuno, but I didn’t really get that much information from her.

I did see many things, but the scenes were mostly me torturing her again and again to the point that even Kasugano Yuno couldn’t help but feel embarrassed about what we were doing. The scenes also revealed my hookups with many different women.

Overall, the Dark World wasn’t helpful this time. Even worse, I even got together with Sun Hee-Young of the brigade, who was basically a stranger to me, and the scenes were so explicit that my nose actually started bleeding.

Overall, it wasn’t a total miss because useless information was still information. I managed to extract more details about Sun Hee-Young and the brigade. Aside from a few incidents, it felt like all the ships had sailed.

Unfortunately, some ships ended up sinking…

‘Like our Jo Hye-Jin...’

Hye-Jin Coin’s value was plummeting…

“Sub Guild Master, I-I think… I think it’s about time we move on to the next step,” Jo Hye-Jin suggested carefully.

However, her words sounded like a load of nonsense to me.

‘Are people still investing in Hye-Jin Coin? There aren’t any more investors, right?’

I shook my head at her surprising remark.

“I think it’s best if you confess,” I suggested.
