Chapter 441: Welcome to Crack Land (4) |
Physical Magic, Backdrop…
‘Physical magic, my ass! You just grabbed him and threw him to the floor…!’
It was a ridiculous but powerful move. The bastard that got hit by the physical magic was on the verge of crossing the rainbow bridge. Not only was he wearing a robe, but Park Deok-Gu had a staff on his waist, and he truly looked like a physical mage.
‘Now that I have seen it myself, I guess it’s pretty strong.’
I knew he had gotten a lot stronger, but this was the first time I had seen him in action after becoming even stronger than in his past life.
The cliched cannon fodders who suddenly appeared didn’t seem noteworthy, but they were still epic-ranked players. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that they were stronger than Park Deok-Gu in his past life.
My jaw dropped unknowingly because he managed to throw one guy on the ground with a single spell, and I finally realized how influential and powerful the Blue Guild had become.
The Blue Guild was filled with monsters.
Park Deok-Gu was nothing more than a meat shield, but he was really useful in parties.
Jo Hye-Jin became a monster after obtaining a unicorn, and Kim Ye-Ri had always been someone whose limits I couldn’t really grasp.
Of course, Park Deok-Gu couldn’t compare to those two, but his ridiculous Endurance stats made him the perfect slaughterer of innocent people.
In other words, Park Deok-Gu—no, Bark Sergei, was strong against the weak.
“These guys are everywhere,” Park Deok-Gu commented.
A female member of the Friendship Clan stared agape at Park Deok-Gu. The others who had just witnessed the power of his physical magic were dumbfounded. At this point, I thought that the drunk bastards would run away.
However, it seemed that I had overestimated them because it was clear that they wouldn’t just stand idly by while thinking that their stats were higher than Bark Sergei’s.
“Who the hell are you?!”
“Physical Magic. Iron Skin,” Park Deok-Gu cast.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh! My hand!”
“Physical Magic. Arm as Strong as Iron,” he cast once again.
’You pig!’
He started attacking, and the power of this physical magic stupefied the drunk thugs. In the end, one of the thugs placed his hand on the sword that was on his waist.
He was planning on using his sword to attack, but of course, Bark Sergei’s party members weren’t just going to watch.
In the end, the sword didn’t manage to leave its sheath. Why? It was all because Berserker Argimo, who would apparently go crazy at the taste of blood, was holding the thug’s hand.
“This is a warning. If you unsheathe it… you’ll die,” Arkimo threatened.
‘Don’t try to act all serious…’
He looked like an idiot, but he did look cool.
“You crazy bastards! Do you have any idea who we are?!”
I heard another loud voice, and that was when Yetni Koba’s figure vanished.
“Dance of Enchantment.”
I wasn’t sure why it had such a name, but the way she spun several times in the air made her look fancy.
“Everyone! I suggest you look away if you don’t want to get charmed.”
She ended it with a simple kick. I was worried that the thug’s head would turn a hundred and eighty degrees, but he was definitely still alive, judging from the way his chest was moving up and down.
The adventures who knew about the effect of her Dance of Enchantment turned their heads away, but I saw her ordinary kick land on the thug’s head. Of course, I didn’t turn away because I knew that the so-called enchantment was bullshit.
She tried to maintain the sexiest pose possible, but the Kim Ye-Ri I was seeing through Mind’s Eye made me laugh.
‘Ye-Ri… Please don’t do this… It’s so funny I’m tearing up.’
It seemed like she was fantasizing about becoming a femme fatale.
The situation was resolved, and they cleaned up the trash before the guards arrived, blanketing the entire restaurant-cum-pub in silence. Everyone wore dumbfounded looks.
Everyone here knew that the thugs were a bit strong, and they also knew about Bark Sergei and the others’ identities as holy figures of the Republic.
Still, I could understand their shock. After all, they had just witnessed the power of the up-and-coming holy figures of the Republic.
A few strong figures watching from the corner were wary of Bark Sergei. It was highly likely that I would meet them today or tomorrow.
‘It’s fun to see how things are working here.’
It was impressive how the small-sized clans either formed an alliance or outright disbanded. Some even waged a war of nerves. I also saw a few recruiters whispering to each other while some used magic to prevent eavesdroppers.
However, I was sure that they were talking about the up-and-coming holy figures of the Republic.
I wasn’t sure how Yetni Koba was going to lead her clan, but that was none of my business because it was more important for me to resolve this situation right now.
Bark Sergei started talking, “Hey, sorry about causing all that commotion.”
“It’s fine. Thank you… for the help,” Lee Chul-Woo replied.
“I wouldn’t even consider it as help. I was worried that I interfered when it was none of my business…” said Bark Sergei.
“That’s not true. I wanted to avoid conflict like this as much as possible,” replied Lee Chul-Woo.
“Ah! You’re preparing for an expedition,” Bark Sergei pointed out.
“Yes, that’s right,” he said.
“Yeah, you never know what could happen if you get involved in situations like this before an expedition. It’ll be a serious problem if you get hurt before an expedition because it could delay it. I’m glad I helped…”
”Anyway, where are you guys from?” asked Bark Sergei.
‘Why is this pig trying to have a conversation with them?’
I wanted him to stop talking and go back to his seat, but he continued talking. I already knew that he enjoyed talking, but I could have never imagined that he would talk energetically to a party he had just met for the first time.
The Friendship Clan’s first impression of him seemed great.
“From Lindel. You guys are probably from the Republic… Actually, how about you join us? I’d like to buy you a meal,” Lee Chul-Woo offered.
‘This bastard is pretty smart.’
The Clan Master of the Friendship Clan was pretty smart. Actually, it was more like he didn’t want opportunities like this to go to waste. It was true that the Friendship Clan was an epic-ranked clan, but the members were no different from rookies.
I was sure that they saw Yetni Koba’s clan as a clan that would soon become a legendary-ranked clan. Therefore, Lee Chul-Woo had to have judged that nothing bad would come out of befriending them.
‘I’m sure they want to hear about the Rift Museum while they’re at it...’
Obviously, I wasn’t happy about this situation because I was worried that they would get suspicious of me. However, Yetni Koba and the others weren’t interested in me.
“Ah, there’s no need,” said Bark Sergei.
“Since you offered to pay for everyone’s drink here, I’ll at least buy the food,” Lee Chul-Woo offered.
“Ah, well, if you say it like that, I guess I have no choice,” he said.
“Thank you.”
“I’m Bark Sergei. This is Argimo, and she’s our clan master, Yetni Koba,” said Bark Sergei.
“Nice to meet you,” Argimo greeted.
“...”
The two of them stayed in character. Ahn Ki-Mo nodded, while Kim Ye-Ri simply nodded without saying anything.
It wasn’t really surprising, but Lee Chul-Woo nodded and spoke, “I’m Lee Chul-Woo, the Clan Master of the Friendship Clan in Lindel.”
“Hm…”
“This is Kim Tae-Geon, the Sub Clan Master of our clan. This is Gook Minji, our assassin, and this is…” Lee Chul-Woo introduced his clan members one by one, and when it was my turn, he looked like he had no idea how to introduce me to them.
I felt that stepping up and introducing myself was the right thing to do.
“I’m Lee Ki-Yeon, and I joined the Friendship Clan party for this expedition,” I said.
“...”
“...”
Everyone’s eyes immediately landed on me. It was absurd how Park Deok-Gu stared at me intently, and even Ahn Ki-Mo was studying my face.
It wouldn’t really matter if I got caught, and just as I started hoping that they would pretend as if they didn’t know me, Park Deok-Gu started speaking, “Have we met somewhere before?”
“What?” I asked.
“I feel like I’ve seen you from somewhere—Ugh. I definitely saw you before…” Park Deok-Gu repeated.
“You’re… mistaking me for someone else. I have never gone outside of Lindel,” I told him.
“Sniff, sniff!”
‘What’s wrong with him?’
“Your smell is familiar… Are you sure we have never met before?” he asked.
‘Are you a dog?’
Park Deok-Gu’s actions made the atmosphere awkward, and the members of the Friendship Clan suddenly became wary of Bark Sergei. Fortunately, Park Deok-Gu seemed to have realized his mistake as he went silent and started eating a sausage.
Of course, he kept on glancing at me. Even while the Friendship Clan was trying to extract information about the Rift Museum from them, Park Deok-Gu still kept on glancing at me.
‘This pig is surprisingly quick-witted.’
Thankfully, Gangwon Province’s Love Doctor didn’t do anything that would cause me trouble, but I didn’t feel good about all this.
“So… what’s the Rift Museum like?” Lee Chul-Woo asked.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine for you. We got one rare-ranked sword and one epic-ranked armor, but we think that we got our money’s worth. But a legendary-ranked necklace… I honestly could have never imagined getting this,” Park Deok-Gu replied.
“If you don’t mind, could you tell us about the difficulty?” he asked.
“Ah, you must’ve registered for an epic-ranked dungeon, right?” he asked.
“Yes, that’s right. It’s our first time, and we believe that this is the best place to gain experience,” he answered.
“It wasn’t that difficult. Honestly, it felt kind of easy to us. We wanted to enter a legendary-ranked dungeon, but we’re not that strong yet. I’m sure we’ll be good enough next time. I mean, we can use the item we obtained today to become even stronger,” Park Deok-Gu replied.
The way he talked about getting stronger while shaking the necklace made me realize that he was also talented when it came to luring people in.
I was sure that he had received a mission from Lee Ji-Hye, and the mission involved showing off a legendary-ranked item to others.
Naturally, the members of the Friendship Clan got jealous.
However, the story about how he had obtained a legendary-ranked necklace in an epic-ranked dungeon…
‘It doesn’t make sense. The story doesn’t make sense.’
The clan members had heard about it through different advertisements, but they finally managed to confirm it with their own eyes.
I had just obtained a Semi-Mythic item, so I wasn’t really that interested in Legendary items anymore, but Legendary items couldn’t be underestimated at all. Even the Blue Guild didn’t have that many Legendary items.
In fact, even Ahn Ki-Mo and Sun Hee-Young didn’t have a single Legendary item.
Supreme treasures were priceless, and those items were cheat items that could turn one into a powerful individual. It seemed that the people on Earth weren’t the only ones crazy about hitting the jackpot in a lottery.
“I’m sure there are thousands of items in the Rift Museum. I don’t know why it has those items, but I’m sure that the quantity is limited,” added Park Deok-Gu.
“Ah…”
“Do you understand what I mean by limited quantity? The legendary-ranked items stored in the Rift Museum can only be obtained on a first come, first served basis…”
”Of course, the rates are low, but it’s a worthy gamble. It’s even more worth it for those ordinary adventures who feel like they couldn’t progress beyond epic-ranked dungeons. Items like these are helpful for breakthroughs,” said Park Deok-Gu.
“I see…”
“This is the chance for ordinary people like us to stand on our feet. Just that alone makes the Rift Museum worthy of our time and attention,” he said.
‘That’s convincing. This guy is a good talker.’
“And they say that all the gold spent here will be used for military funds,” he informed them.
“What?”
“Everything we’re spending our money on… they’re going to be the funds that would be used to fight for the continent’s peace,” Park Deok-Gu answered.
“Ah…”
“I’m sure you’ve heard of the threat,” Park Deok-Gu added.
“We’ve heard it before, but—”
“It’s true. It’s not just a rumor. It’s true that there are beings threatening the continent,” Park Deok-Gu interrupted, sounding like he didn’t have even an ounce of deceit in his words.
In addition, he looked like he was carrying a heavy burden on his shoulders.
‘Is this your third life?’
I couldn’t help but think that way…
‘How many lives has this pig gone through?’
