Chapter 171

Swemer sharpened his spear on a hard rock while saying, “I once thought the strongest weapon was a spear, because it has the longest range among melee weapons and it’s easy to use. I became a spearman not long after, and I poked holes in the stomachs of several bastards who only knew how to swing a sword. Now, though, I realize I was wrong. The strongest weapon in the world is the tongue.”

Hawk smirked and said, “There’s a common saying among us deep-sea treasure hunters. You’re more likely to be stabbed in the back by a tongue than a sword.”

While carrying a backpack filled with magic scrolls, Harpoon said, “To think he would be able to convince the phoenix with a few words when I had to use more than twelve blizzard magic scrolls… Is that guy a negotiator or what?”

The men prepared to leave while stealing glances at Kang Yoon-Soo, who was sitting on the ground. A few hours had already passed since he started preaching.

“It was at that moment that the Mad God Urnokra shouted, ‘You look like your father’s dick!’ The followers could not hide their amazement and awe at Urnokra’s courage, to curse directly in the face of the Demon Lord,” Kang Yoon-Soo preached.

The phoenix stood still and did not attack or show any hostility toward Kang Yoon-Soo, clearly absorbed in the sermon.

Danesh crossed his arms over his chest and furrowed his brow, saying, “I have no idea what rubbish he’s spouting. How does it make any sense for the phoenix to be convinced by that crap?”

“I have no idea, but it doesn’t seem as if that guy is just blabbering to me,” Hekal, the blind swordmaster said while laughing. He added, “Nobody can fool the ears of a blind man. That young man is purposely speaking in a tone the phoenix likes. He seems to be well aware that large birds tend to be more receptive to low and deep voices. I‘m certain he learned oration from an expert, judging by the fact that he even put thought into his tone.”

Danesh scoffed and asked, “How does that even make sense? Do large birds really have a certain tone they like?”

“The woman you keep looking for in your dreams seems to have a nice voice as well,” Hekal replied.

“I should just keep quiet…” Danesh muttered with a grimace.

Ramel sheathed his greatsword and asked, “Do you really believe that guy can save us…?”

“Who knows? It’s hard to tell in this hellish environment, but it feels as if I’ll have to go all out after a long hiatus,” Recifer replied while filling his sleeves with rusty daggers.

It was at that moment that Kang Yoon-Soo’s sermon concluded. As he stood up, the large burning bird slowly approached him.

Kyaaaahk!” The phoenix cried out, then rubbed its head on Kang Yoon-Soo. As it was showing affection, the phoenix’s flames were not hot; rather, they were comfortably warm and even healed Kang Yoon-Soo.

Kang Yoon-Soo patted the phoenix’s head while thinking, ‘We meet again.’

The phoenix standing before him was the one he had fought alongside in the trial; there, it had swept Rawelkan’s undead legion and turned the tide of battle. Of course, what had happened in the trial did not affect reality, so the phoenix had no recollection of Kang Yoon-Soo.

The phoenix in the trial was only a juvenile, but this one is different,’ he thought.

The phoenix before him had lived for centuries and was a fully-fledged adult. It would have provided a significant boost to their combat power if it became an ally, but the chances of that happening were close to zero.

That’s because it’s completely surrendered to the Dragon of Destruction,’ Kang Yoon-Soo thought.

The most powerful dragon on the continent, the Dragon of Destruction, was so mighty that it could even force an immortal phoenix into submission and turn it into a subordinate. Kang Yoon-Soo might have made the phoenix cease hostilities toward them, but it would be difficult to call it an ally.

It’ll turn a blind eye to us escaping, but it won’t try to fight against the Dragon of Destruction,’ he thought.

That was because there was a limit to how much he could convince the immortal bird with words.

Phoenixes were innately susceptible to being influenced by preaching. The phoenix in the trial had been especially vulnerable, as it was still a juvenile. It had been so completely brainwashed by religion that it committed suicide upon receiving a single command from Kang Yoon-Soo.

However, that phoenix had already grown up to become an adult, and it was smart enough to not be so easily brainwashed. In fact, it was possible that the phoenix would help them at the start but suddenly switch sides and help the Dragon of Destruction during the battle.

It’s a shame, but I can’t recruit it as an ally,’ Kang Yoon-Soo thought.

He plucked a few fiery feathers from the phoenix, as they had powerful healing capabilities and also increased the fire resistance of the bearer.

Kyaaahk!” The phoenix cried loudly as Kang Yoon-Soo kept plucking its feathers. It would certainly turn hostile toward them if he continued to do so past a certain point.

However, Kang Yoon-Soo stopped plucking its feathers when he had enough. He turned around and told the men, “The phoenix has given up on watching over you, so you can now leave this place.”

The men seemed skeptical. Danesh was the first to speak up, asking, “How can we trust you? That phoenix has been watching over us for more than a decade. Would it really give up like that just because you said a few words?”

“Yeah,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied, then walked over to the steel door and grabbed its doorknob. A powerful flame would normally have swept him away by then, but the phoenix did not even make a sound and just quietly stood there.

“I-It’s true!”

“We can finally get out of here!”

Just as the men were about to rejoice, however, Kang Yoon-Soo suddenly said, “You could leave this instant, but there’s a restriction placed on all of you. That restriction won’t be lifted unless the Dragon of Destruction dies.”

“Restriction? What are you talking about?” Danesh grumbled.

“A tattoo was engraved on each of you when you were abducted,” Kang Yoon-Soo said.

It was exactly as he said. All of the men had been tattooed with a strange-looking red symbol while they were under the influence of the drug used to abduct them. The tattoos were all in different places; some of the men had it on their chins, while others had it on their backs or shoulders.

“A restriction spell has been cast on the tattoo, and not even an Archmage would be able to dispel it,” Kang Yoon-Soo said.

“Who the hell are you, that you know every single detail about what’s going on?” one of the men asked.

“Like I said, I came here to save you guys, which is why I came here prepared with all manner of knowledge,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied, leaving the men astounded.

Then, he raised one finger and said, “First, your friends and comrades aboveground will have no recollection of you.”

It would be impossible to return their friends’ and comrades’ memories of them if they did not kill the Dragon of Destruction. However, the men did not seem to be bothered at all as they responded.

“Well, I can always make new friends.”

“I only had enemies around me, so I’ll actually be thankful if they can’t remember anything about me.”

“I borrowed a huge sum of money from this guy before getting abducted, so it’ll actually be a relief if he doesn’t remember me since I won’t have to repay him.”

They were men who had experienced all sorts of things in life. The first restriction was not a big deal for them, as they had not breathed the outside air for decades.

Kang Yoon-Soo raised a second finger and said, “Second, your families won’t have any recollection of you.”

The reactions from the men were mixed this time, but some of them smirked and walked toward the steel door.

“This is the first time I’m actually thankful for being born as an orphan. I plan to meet a nice woman and make my own family when I get out of here.”

“My family sold me off as a slave when I was young. They probably won’t even remember me, seeing as it’s been so long, so I’d rather just escape from this damn hellhole.”

However, Kang Yoon-Soo’s next words suddenly stopped the men in their tracks. He said, “You should listen until the end.”

“What is it this time?” the men grumbled.

“Third, you’ll never be able to do it,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied, raising a third finger.

Silence filled the entire area for a moment. Afterward, someone asked hesitantly, “What do you mean, we’ll never be able to do it…?”

“Sex,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied.

The men’s faces all fell.

“What the… Friends, family, and sex? What’s the connection? That’s just too random…” Swemer said.

“Why would someone place a restriction on something so important…?” Hawk asked seriously.

“The Dragon of Destruction considers men’s libido very important. It concluded that decreased libido would increase work efficiency,” Kang Yoon-Soo began. He continued, “Above all, though, the Dragon of Destruction hates it when humans procreate. It might permit you to escape this place, but it would never allow you to procreate—ever.”

It was then that Hekal suddenly retorted, “Ha! Dragons are mighty and haughty creatures. Why would a creature like a dragon even care if humans procreate or not?”

Kang Yoon-Soo gave a short and direct answer. “That’s just how the Dragon of Destruction is.”

“What do you mean, that’s just how it is?” Hekal asked.

“It hates the thought of anything other than itself mating,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied.

“…”

The men were at a loss for words.

Recifer, who had been silently observing the entire situation until then, slowly said, “I’m thankful that you freed us from the phoenix, but it’s just too difficult for me to trust what you said just now. Is there a way for us to check whether those restrictions were really placed on us or not?”

“Yes,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied. He then walked toward Recifer and touched the tattoo on his shoulder. The patterns on it were very complicated.

I won’t be able to dispel it, but I can show them what this tattoo is capable of,’ Kang Yoon-Soo thought as he worked on the tattoo as much as he could. He would not be able to remove the restrictions placed on them, but he could at least reveal their details.

[Top-Tier Restriction Magic]

1. The target’s friends outside Kolod Abandoned Mine will not be able to remember them.

2. The target’s family outside Kolod Abandoned Mine will not be able to remember them.

3. The target will never be able to have sex ever again.

[The target will be ripped to shreds the moment they go against the third restriction.]

Kang Yoon-Soo showed the messages that popped up on his wrist device to the men. As they read it, their faces fell even more. Thus, Kang Yoon-Soo repeated once again, “The only way you’ll be able to obtain true freedom is to kill the Dragon of Destruction.”

The men finally realized that what the young man in front of them had just said was reality, and they raged and lamented.

“Didn’t I tell you? The thing that locked us up in here is a pervert!”

“It’s definitely a vicious and cruel being. Why the hell would it place a restriction on that?!”

“Damn it, I won’t be able to continue living unless I kill that dragon.”

“I’ll become the first person on the continent to cut the Dragon of Destruction’s cock off, then!”

“I’d rather just kill the Dragon of Destruction, at this rate! This is revenge for locking me up for decades!”

As the men burned with killing intent, Ramel, who had recently entered the mine, raised his hand and asked, “If sex is restricted… What about self-gratification?”

It was then that Harpoon shook his head and replied, “That’s alright. I tried it in secret.”

Swemer scratched his head and asked, “What do you mean by self-gratification?”

Harpoon replied, “Masturbation.”

“…”

The entire area fell silent once again.

***

Meanwhile, the ogres were tearing through the bloody meat of live animals. It was not that they did not know how to use fire, but they loved the fresh taste of living creatures desperately squirming in their mouths.

The ogre covered in scars squinted while chewing a bone, then shouted, “Kar naro dol!”

The twelve ogres threw their meals away and stood up while raising their hammers.

Many creatures were rushing through the mineshaft, and their footsteps were so intense that they made the entire area tremble slightly.

The ogres gripped their large hammers and hid behind a rock wall. It would be illogical for them to belt out a battle cry just because there were invaders rushing toward them. Thus, they planned to ambush the intruders the moment they rushed past.

At that moment…

Raku nar mol!” The ogre standing farthest at the back suddenly shouted, before it vomited blood and collapsed.

The remaining ogres looked behind them, and saw a fleeting shadow. The owner of the shadow was none other than Recifer, who had discreetly circled around and ambushed the ogres from behind while they were distracted by the footsteps heading toward them!

Kar no kuro dol!”

Just as the ogres were about to swing their hammers against the invader, a man suddenly flew toward them. The ogres scowled when they noticed the puny human approaching them, but that same puny human drew a spear and pierced the heavy armor of one of their number.

Kor… Heuk! Heuk…!” As the spear penetrated through the armor and into the ogre’s heart, it coughed out blood as it tried its best to remain on its feet.

However, the man unleashed a barrage of attacks with his spear, and the ogre eventually fell over and died. Swemer swung his bloody spear and said, “It was wearing some pretty good armor. I can still feel the ecstasy from stabbing it. Next! Bring it on!”

Forty men appeared from behind Swemer, charging simultaneously at the ogres. However, even though they had been hit first, the ogres were unfazed and rushed forward to meet the intruders.

As the men fought, Kang Yoon-Soo hid behind the crowd and only appeared to deal the final blow. The ogres fought as hard as they could, but they were ripped apart like wet tissue.

The fire in the men’s eyes was rekindled as the battle drew to a close.

“Let’s kill the Dragon of Destruction and retake our freedom!”

“Cheers to our one true freedom!”

The men who had been locked up for decades were beginning to regain their old strength.

    chapter172&173
Henrick had a serious dilemma. He kept pondering whether he should do what he wanted or not, but his laid-back, screw-it attitude prevented him from changing his mind. In the end, he ended up going ahead with it.

‘It’s not good to think too much sometimes…’ he thought as he pushed his hand between Iris’ soft breasts.

The intrusive, yet warm feeling woke Iris up. She slowly opened her eyes, staring at Henrick and saying, “Henrick.”

    “What?” Henrick asked in response.

“Should I scream, or should I kick you right now?” Iris asked.

“I know what I’m doing is unforgivable, but please just stay still for a bit longer,” Henrick replied.

“Oh my god… Henrick…” Iris murmured with tears welling up in her eyes. She added, “I don’t wish to kill my friend.”

“I know the situation is easy to misunderstand, but this isn’t what you think it is,” Henrick grumbled before pulling his hand out from between her breasts. A small snake bound up in his mana threads followed soon after.

    “Hiiisss…! Hissssss…!”

Iris smiled and said, “Omo, what a cute baby snake.”

“It’s venomous. You could’ve died, you know?” Henrick grumbled before taking out his sculpting knife and beheading the snake.

Iris’ eyes started to well up with tears once again, and she glared at Henrick and asked, “Henrick, can I kick you?”

“Do you want to get bitten by a venomous snake and die?” Henrick grumbled.

“It was just a baby. You could have just set it free,” Iris retorted.

“You should be more worried about this thing growing up and coming back for revenge instead of worrying about its life. It’s a small price to pay to keep us safe, you know?” Henrick grumbled in response.

“Hmph! Thank you for saving me, but Henrick is an idiot,” Iris said as she walked off.

Henrick shrugged and followed her. Soon after, they came across the undead army.

Kalriven, who had been sparring against ten undead, sheathed its sword and lowered its head before asking, “Have you had a pleasant rest, my lord’s comrades?”

“Hmph…! It was not pleasant at all,” Iris replied.

“Hey, are you going to keep that up?” Henrick grumbled.

Kalriven tilted its head in confusion.

Meanwhile, Shaneth was already up and preparing breakfast. She asked, “Did you two sleep well?”

Iris approached Shaneth with teary eyes, saying, “Shaneth, listen to what happened to me. Henrick, he… Heuk… Sniff…”

“Did something happen, unni?” Shaneth asked with a worried expression.

“Henrick grabbed my breasts while I was sleeping,” Iris said while crying.

“…” Shaneth looked at Henrick with a disgusted expression.

Henrick faked a cough and remarked, “What will become of me if you say it like that?”

Iris explained the whole situation, then glared at Henrick and said, “I am furious about what you said. You cannot simply take away a life just because it posed a threat. You should have thought about whether there could be another way instead of simply killing it.”

Shaneth thought for a while and began, “Unni.”

“What is it, Shaneth?” Iris responded.

“Snake meat is really delicious, you know?” Shaneth continued.

“Omo! Is that so?” Iris asked in response while smiling brightly.

“Don’t you think we know each other a bit too well now?” Henrick remarked, smiling in disbelief.

Shaneth let out a sigh and said, “Except for Kang Yoon-Soo’s past…”

It was at that moment that Iris’ ears twitched, and she said, “I hear something strange.”

    “What is it?” Henrick asked.

Before Iris could even respond, loud hisses filled the air, and snakes started to crawl out from the crevices in the ground of the mineshaft. Shaneth, Iris, and Henrick immediately got up and climbed up a nearby wall.

“It’s turned into a snake pit down there!” Shaneth exclaimed.

“Damn it! We’ll get bitten if we fall down there!” Henrick cursed loudly.

“There is a lot of snake meat…” Iris muttered while drooling.

The ground was littered with snakes, but the undead rejoiced upon seeing that.

“Kuooh… Snakes! There are a lot of snakes…!”

    “Snakes… Savory meat… and blood…”

    “I will feast… on their meat… and drink… their blood…”

The undead started to pick the snakes up with their bare hands and devoured them. The snakes retaliated by biting the undead’s hands, but their poison had no effect on the dead.

Just then, loud voices rang out from the distance.

    “Wahaha! Snakes!”

“How long has it been since we had meat? I don’t mind being poisoned for some good ol’ meat!”

“I can’t wait any longer! Let’s just eat them raw!”

The trio looked at each other.

    “What was that…?” Shaneth asked.

“Beats me… Was there someone else this deep in the mine, aside from us?” Henrick asked.

“It sounds like a group of men,” Iris added.

The owners of the voices soon appeared from the other end of the mineshaft.

“Well, would you look at that…”

    “What the hell are those?”

“Aren’t those undead? We can’t eat those since their flesh has already decayed.”

The undead and the group of men, who were so dirty that they looked no different from the undead, stared at each other from opposite ends of the mineshaft.

    “Kwuaaaahk…!”

    “They look dangerous… Kill…!”

Kalriven unsheathed its sword and asked in a commanding, hostile voice, “Who are you people? State your identity.”

The men seemed taken aback by the Death General’s words.

“State our what? Ha! It’s my first time hearing that from an undead being.”

“It’s been a while since I last fought the dead.”

“I’m sure it’ll be boring to fight against these half-decayed corpses…”

Just as they were about to charge into battle against each other…

    Whistle…!

Someone suddenly began whistling. The snakes that were covering the ground stopped moving as soon as they heard the whistle, like cobras before a snake charmer’s flute. Then, they moved to either side of the mineshaft, leaving a path in between.

    “Stop it,” called a voice.

Both parties looked at the source of the voice.

Kang Yoon-Soo walked through the gap created by the snakes and continued, “We’re on the same side.”

    ***

The men and the undead quietly roasted the snakes after introducing themselves to each other.

Meanwhile, Kang Yoon-Soo removed the snakes’ fangs and poured their venom into a bottle. He thought, ‘The snakes in this place have various kinds of venom in them.’

It was possible to apply different kinds of toxins—such as paralyzing toxin, hemorrhaging toxin, or nerve toxin—to weapons or arrows, resulting in great harm to one’s enemies. However, the men who had been abducted were so powerful that they were already resistant against most kinds of poisons.

In fact, the assassin Recifer even dipped his roasted snake meat in poison before eating it.

Ramel grimaced and asked, “Are you trying to kill yourself?”

“Not at all. I’ve built up a resistance against poison from being poisoned so many times in my life. That’s why I purposely take other poisons, to build my resistance against them,” Recifer replied.

“Does it taste good if you eat it like that…?” Ramel asked.

“It’s not bad at all. Although, you might experience some numbing on your tongue. Sometimes it goes all the way down to the elbow. Do you want a bite?” Recifer asked.

“I shall politely refuse your offer,” Ramel replied.

These men defied logic… Or, rather, logic did not apply to them at all.

As Shaneth watched the men, she tilted her head and asked, “So, you mean… These are powerful men who were locked up in the mine?”

“They look pretty messy and disheveled... and the way they act seems far from ‘powerful men’, don’t you think?” Henrick remarked while watching the men devour the roasted snake meat like a bunch of hungry dogs.

“We killed those armor-wearing ogres a while ago,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied casually while roasting snake meat on the campfire.

“Hoo… Is that so?” Henrick replied, observing the men while rubbing his chin.

“The snake meat looks really good,” Iris said with a serious expression while drooling.

Meanwhile, the men were stealing glances at Kang Yoon-Soo’s party as well, and the subject of their interest seemed quite obvious.

Swemer gulped and asked, “Can someone hold me down?”

“What is it all of a sudden?” Harpoon asked.

“I feel as if I won’t be able to suppress my instincts,” Swemer replied.

“Go do your dirty business somewhere else,” Harpoon said.

“Damn, it… Am I the only one?” Swemer grumbled with a grimace.

The men let out a sigh while looking at Shaneth and Iris. Shaneth looked very beautiful to them despite the small burn mark on her cheek, and Iris charmed them with her innocent yet glamorous appearance. The sight of the two beautiful women was agony to them.

“I’m not that kind of person, but I’m having all sorts of thoughts right now…”

“Ehem! I’m sure you can’t help it since the first women you saw after being locked up for many years were such beauties…”

It had been quite a long time since they saw such beautiful ladies, but unfortunately, these women were out of their reach. They could only smile bitterly and be content with being able to look at beautiful women after such a long time.

Harpoon rummaged through his backpack while saying, “Well, I think it’s a good thing that we had this restriction placed on us. Imagine if we didn’t. Some of us would already have tried to force themselves on those two or something.”

Danesh nodded and said, “Harpoon is right. We’ll have to work together with them from now on, and something like that would make things very awkward for all of us. Besides, you guys are already aware, right? We’ll die if we do it anyway.”

“You don’t have to remind us,” Hawk said while picking his yellow teeth.

The men let out sighs once again.

Shaneth tilted her head in confusion while looking at the men dejectedly whispering to each other. She asked, “What’s wrong with them…?”

“The Dragon of Destruction placed a restriction on them, so they’ll die the moment they have sex,” Kang Yoon-Soo nonchalantly explained.

    “…”

Shaneth blushed, while Iris seemed to be so absorbed in the snake meat she was eating that she did not hear him.

Henrick clicked his tongue and said, “I can already roughly tell this Dragon of Destruction’s personality.”

“We’ll kill the Dragon of Destruction alongside them, and they’ll be freed from their restriction then,” Kang Yoon-Soo said in a low voice.

Henrick picked up a stone on the ground and carved it with his sculpting knife while saying, “That’s one motive that will keep them going.”

    ***

Everyone got up after they finished eating.

Danesh stepped forward as the representative of the men and shook hands with Henrick.

“We will have to work together from now on. We both have the same objective so I hope we will get along from now on,” Danesh said.

“I heard your circumstances. Let’s kill that dragon and make sure that you guys will be able to have sexual intercourse again,” Henrick said.

    “…”

Danesh grimaced, while Henrick shrugged brazenly.

“Don’t you think you were being too blunt from the start…?” Shaneth whispered.

“The stronger the opponent is, the more important it is to take the initiative,” Henrick replied.

“So, where are we going now?” Danesh asked with a forced, bitter smile.

“The Dragon of Destruction’s lair,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied.

“Where would that be…?” Danesh asked.

“We have to go deeper,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied.

They continued making their way deeper through the mine. It was not difficult for them to breathe, as they burned the air-producing trees whenever one appeared. A few wild monsters appeared, but they posed no threat to the party with the powerful men accompanying them.

Kalriven sheathed its sword and said, “Your fighting styles are quite sharp and aggressive. It is truly surprising that you men can exert such destructiveness with such a small group.”

The men were perplexed by the Death General’s praise; it was the first time they had heard of an undead being praising the living.

Swemer laughed and nudged Kalriven with his elbow, replying, “You’re pretty strong yourself. It’s my first time seeing such amazing swordsmanship from an undead being.”

“My swordsmanship is good enough that I would not lose even if you all ganged up on me,” Kalriven said confidently.

The Death General’s boast set fire to the men’s competitiveness.

    “Hoo… Is that so?”

    “Such an arrogant undead.”

“Then, shall we have a go at it?!”

However, Kang Yoon-Soo doused their competitive spirit, saying, “Don’t waste your strength.”

When they reached the hundredth floor, Kang Yoon-Soo approached Hawk.

    “What is it?” Hawk asked.

“Lend me your Golden Compass,” Kang Yoon-Soo said.

“My Golden Compass? It’s certainly a rare tool, but it’s not going to be of much help down here,” Hawk replied.

“We’ll need that to find our way from now on,” Kang Yoon-Soo said.

Hawk took out his Golden Compass without asking any further questions and handed it over to Kang Yoon-Soo. The compass was made out of pure gold, and its needle was studded with jewels. It was an item Kang Yoon-Soo needed to find the secret jewel mines mentioned in the legendary quest.

“It’s a tool that shows the way when you’re in a sticky situation. I usually used it when out on the ocean, but now it only keeps pointing downward when I use it. Perhaps it’s because the Dragon of Destruction is deeper underground?” Hawk said.

The needle on the compass started to spin uncontrollably the moment Kang Yoon-Soo grabbed it, without showing any signs of stopping.

Hawk was taken aback upon seeing the Golden Compass’ sudden reaction. He exclaimed, “Huh? This is the first time the needle’s ever gone haywire like that… What’s wrong with it?”

Kang Yoon-Soo did not reply, and just continued walking while holding the compass.

The mineshaft eventually came to an end, and the party arrived at a cave.

Iris’ ears perked up and she said, “I can hear water.”

“Water?” Shaneth asked, tilting her head in confusion.

When they went deeper into the cave, a crystal-clear lake appeared before them. The lake was fed by the water from an underground spring.

Henrick dipped his hand into the lake and tasted the water, then said, “It’s really clean water. We won’t have any issues drinking and bathing with it.”

The men rejoiced. They were extremely dirty, as they had not had the chance to wash ever since they were abducted.

Right as they replenished their water canteens and were about to wash up, however, Iris suddenly smiled brightly and said, “It is a relief that we found water to wash with.”

Then, she took her top off.

    Chapter 173
Lakes were the natural habitat of fairies, so naturally, there were some living in the underground lake. Their kind was generally playful in nature, but underground fairies took that playfulness to an extreme. They became so drunk on their naughty tricks that they ended up being corrupted.

The fairies snickered when they saw the group of humans arriving at the lake.

    “Wow, such cute humans.”

“How did they reach all the way here? Anyway, it’s a good thing. I’m bored of these underground creatures anyway. Ahhh… I feel ecstatic just imagining making those humans forcefully submit.”

“I’ll gather a reverse harem of muscular, tough-looking men and make them my slaves!”

“Kihihihi…! I want to behead them and hang their heads on my wall!”

The fairies fluttered their black wings and sharpened their axes.

    ***

Meanwhile, the men could not take their eyes off Iris’ naked body. She was so voluptuous and beautiful that they were completely entranced. Silence filled the area for a moment, before they unfortunately had to run away from the very sight they had been dreaming of for years.

“Haa... Haa… That’s the most wonderful body I’ve ever seen… Aghk! No! I-I shouldn’t look! The devil is tempting us!”

“T-This is driving me crazy! Everyone, stay calm! You’ll die if you don’t suppress your desires!”

“Agghkkk! I can’t do this anymore! I won’t be able to hold myself back any longer!”

The pale-faced men jumped into the lake, running away from the naked beauty in front of them.

Tears started welling up in Iris’ eyes, as she seemed to be hurt by the men’s actions. She said while sniffling,

“The men are avoiding me. Is it because I’m a monster…?”

“No, unni… Why don’t you come with me and bathe somewhere else…?” Shaneth offered, letting out a sigh and covering Iris’ body with a piece of cloth.

The blind swordmaster, Hekal, tapped the sword he also used as a cane on the ground and said, “I managed to avoid a disaster thanks to my blindness… but why do I feel so sad…?”

“I’m actually jealous of you! Aaaaaah! I’m going to go crazy because of what I saw a while ago!”

“Forget about it! We have to forget about it! Hurry up and wash your eyes!”

“Wahahaha! The water is so refreshing!”

The men scrubbed their bodies in the lake water. The sensation of fresh water splashing onto them was welcome, as their bodies were riddled with muck and grime from not having washed for years. They soon forgot about their worries, beginning to splash each other with water like a bunch of kids. In the process, they began to disturb the entire lake’s surface

    “Wahaha! Take this!”

“Childish fools! Do you want to die from drowning today? Take this!”

The men played a hundred times more roughly than the average person.

Henrick squinted while avoiding the waves generated by the childish men. He washed himself roughly, then looked at Kang Yoon-Soo and asked, “Aren’t you going to wash up?”

“A bit later,” Kang Yoon-Soo replied while looking at something on the other end of the lake.

While the men were immersed in their play, Hekal, who was struggling to stay afloat from the waves, suddenly sniffed a few times. He exclaimed, “Hmm? Something’s off.”

    “What’s wrong?” the men asked.

“There’s a strange smell coming from somewhere,” Hekal replied.

“Smell…?” the men muttered, then also started sniffing.

They could smell the faintest scent of roses lingering in the air; initially subtle, it slowly started to grow stronger and stronger as a fog started to cover the lake.

“A fog on top of this scent?”

    “Something’s fishy here.”

As the men became vigilant, a sweet voice spoke from within the fog.

    “Ahh… Such handsome men!”

    “My heart is fluttering!”

“We were lonely and missed the touch of humans… Would you men like to join us?”

A group of beautiful elves was waving at them from the other side of the lake. They seemed to be naked, but their bodies were covered by the fog, making it difficult to properly see them. However, the men would be able to see them fully if they went just a little closer into the fog.

Meanwhile, the corrupted fairies hid behind a rock while giggling, their axes at the ready.

“Kihihi! Those stupid men. I’m sure they’re enthralled by the illusion we made.”

“We’ll behead them the instant they wander over here, overcome by their lust!”

The elves were nothing more than an illusion the corrupted fairies had created. After all, they were not stupid. They were fully aware that it would be inefficient for them to fight those powerful men head-on, which was why they had created an illusion to lure the men into a trap.

The corrupted fairies were excited at the thought of beheading a human after a long time. However, the men did not enter the fog no matter how long they waited.

    “What’s taking so long?”

“Argh! The elves we made are so beautiful and sexy! This is driving me mad!”

The corrupted fairies peeked out from behind the rock, and saw that the men were overcome with rage and not with lust as the fairies had initially expected them to be.

The men shouted protests, brandishing weapons while naked as they prepared to unleash their wrath on the pranksters.

    “Tsk! I’m seeing things now!”

“Is someone making fun of us right now? How is this different from asking someone without a tongue to taste delicious food? This is driving me mad!”

“You stupid bastards! These kinds of seduction won’t work on us!”

The corrupted fairies were stunned by the sight before them. To think there were men who had enough self-control to shun the seduction of the opposite sex!

“They’re braver than they look. I’m starting to think that they’re pretty cool.”

“They’re making me want to enslave them even more now! Submit to me!”

    “I’ll cut your heads off!”

The fairies flew toward the men while wielding axes much larger than their bodies. Their combat style was not simply to swing their axes at their enemies, however. They used all sorts of illusion magic and summoned hundreds of venomous wasps.

However, the men were not that easy to deal with. They let out a deafening battle cry as they entered combat against their winged foes. Recifer used his agility to massacre the venomous wasps summoned by the fairies, and Ramel cut apart three fairies with one swing of his greatsword.

“Recifer! Are you alright?” Ramel shouted.

“Haven’t I told you before? I’m resistant to poison. I was stung a few times on my arms and face, but it’s not even itchy!” Recifer replied.

“Wahaha! To think you would pick a fight against me in the water! I’m not sure whether you’re brave or stupid!” Hawk shouted. He lived up to his reputation as a Deep Sea Treasure Hunter, being quite adept at fighting in water. He swam so quickly that he caught up easily to the flying fairies before cutting them in half with his scimitar.

Henrick took out Rick from his summoning box while the men were fighting. Rick stared at the axes the corrupted fairies were using and said, “Henrick, I want one of those axes.”

“Hoo, have you decided to become a lumberjack?” Henrick asked.

Rick had wanted a class for some time, but she shook her head and replied, “They look nice and efficient for chopping heads off.”

“I had a feeling you would say that… Let’s fight for now and talk later!” Henrick replied, then began controlling Rick with his mana threads.

Meanwhile, while the others were busy fighting the corrupted fairies, Kang Yoon-Soo stayed at the back just observing the situation.

The corrupted fairies were much stronger than normal fairies, and the amount of mana they had was astounding. However, they were severely weak against light, and that was the main reason why they had established a habitat in the underground lake.

Kang Yoon-Soo extended his right hand and muttered, “Summon Light.”

    Light and Sharp appeared hand-in-hand.

“Hurray! I’ve been summoned again!” Light exclaimed with her usual cheer.

Meanwhile, Sharp cried with his usual melancholy, “Huu… I’ve been dragged out again…!”

It was time for the newly created spirits to make their debut in combat. Kang Yoon-Soo pointed at the spirits and commanded them, “Go fight.”

“Fight…? I don’t want to do something like that! I want to be friends with them!” Light protested.

“Uhhh…! F-Fight…? That’s too scary for me…” Sharp said, shrinking back.

Light ran toward the corrupted fairies with Sharp in tow and opened her arms wide, then said, “Hi! My name is Light! I want to be your friend!”

The corrupted fairies scoffed and replied, “Friend? Ha! Don’t make us laugh! Who would want to be friends with someone like you?!”

Light tilted her head in confusion and asked, “You don’t want to become friends with me…?”

“Kihihi! Of course! You should just have your head cut off and become another decoration on my wall!” a corrupted fairy cried, flying toward Light with its ax.

Sharp trembled in fear, while Light seemed to be deep in thought.

Just as the corrupted fairy was about to swing its ax, its wing was severed like a piece of paper.

“Kyaahk!” the fairy cried out in agony.

Light raised her hand, firing a powerful, radiant beam. She said, “Hmm… Alright! If you don’t want to be friends, I can just kill you then.” Afterward, she aimed her hand at another fairy.

“W-What…?” the corrupted fairy muttered in confusion.

    Zziiiing!

The blinding beam the light spirit shot out of her hand swept across the corrupted fairies. As they were weak against light, they immediately disintegrated when the light hit them.

Light laughed cheerfully while shooting beams all over the place, exclaiming, “Kyahahaha! Die! Die!”

The corrupted fairies were scared out of their wits at the sight of Light acting like a lunatic.

    “C-Crazy…! It’s a crazy spirit!”

“It’s massacring us while laughing! Look!”

On the other hand, Sharp also seemed to be scared. He cried, “L-Light…! I’m scared…!”

“Don’t be scared, Sharp! I’m here!” Light replied.

“B-But! Isn’t it scary killing the fairies…? Is it alright for you to laugh while killing them?” Sharp asked.

“It’s alright. They’re not my friends anyway,” Light replied with a shrug.

Sharp felt goosebumps cover his body upon hearing Light’s indifferent response.

The corrupted fairies were dealt with in an instant, due to the combined efforts of the party members. Those that managed to survive the massacre tried to flee from the madness before them.

Kang Yoon-Soo picked up one of the corrupted fairies as it tried to crawl across the floor with its wings torn off.

“Human-nim! Please! Please spare me! I’ll become your slave and do whatever you ask me to!” the fairy pleaded while crying.

Kang Yoon-Soo nonchalantly replied, “I need booze.”

“W-What…? Booze…?” the corrupted fairy muttered in surprise.

Kang Yoon-Soo nodded. They had already run out of the alcohol they brought from aboveground.

The corrupted fairy trembled and replied, “T-There’s some alcohol that we made in our house… I’ll give you all of that! So, please! Please spare me!”

Kang Yoon-Soo took out a glass bottle and shoved the fairy into it. The fairy knocked on the glass, but to no avail. Fairies lost all their strength and mana if their wings were torn off; they could regrow their wings eventually, but that would take a very long time.

The corrupted spirit sniffled and cried, saying, “M-My name is Quishow. Quishow is a cute and beautiful baby fairy… All I ever wanted was to have a few handsome slaves of my own… So please, human-nim. Please let me go…”

    “No,” Kang Yoon-Soo refused flatly.

“Kyaaahk! Please spare me!” Quishow cried.

Kang Yoon-Soo ignored the corrupted fairy and stuffed the glass bottle containing it into his pocket.

Meanwhile, Light ran toward Rick, whom she was meeting for the first time, and said, “Hi! My name is Light!”

“My name is Rick,” Rick replied.

“Rick! I’m so, so, so glad to meet you! Do you want to become my friend?” Light asked.

Rick looked Light up and down, then brought her finger to her lips and thought for a moment. Eventually, she replied, “I have a feeling that we’re the same…”

    “In what way?” Light asked.

“We’re both crazy bitches,” Rick nonchalantly replied.

Henrick laughed in disbelief and said, “So they can recognize their own kind…”

The men seemed to be disappointed as they put on their clothes.

“Is it already over? I haven’t even digested the snakes we ate a while ago.”

“That’s because you shoved them down like a pig.”

    “These fairies were too weak.”

Quishow could not hide its shock upon hearing their conversation from within the glass bottle. The corrupted fairies could play with large underground creatures, killing them whenever they got bored. In fact, at times they had tamed drakes to keep as pets out of boredom. And yet, these guys considered them weak? It was impossible for Quishow to fathom how strong and stupid they were.

Kang Yoon-Soo called the undead that were waiting outside the lake area. Meanwhile, Shaneth and Iris returned from their bath.

“The lake water is really refreshing,” Iris said.

“It feels really good to wash up after a long time,” Shaneth added.

The men had solemn expressions when the two beauties returned.

Afterward, the party crossed the lake and ventured deeper into the hundredth floor. They followed Kang Yoon-Soo for quite a while before arriving at a stone door that blocked their way.

Danesh glared threateningly at the corrupted fairy trapped inside the glass bottle and yelled, “Hey! How do we open this?!”

“T-That is…!” Quishow exclaimed in fright.

“Don’t even think about pulling any tricks. I’ll punch you to death if you don’t answer me truthfully!” Danesh growled while cracking his knuckles.

Quishow replied while trembling, “This is a passage connecting to our house, but we need a key to open the stone door. It’s a small golden jewel, but our boss has the only one.”

    The men shook their heads.

“Haa… Should we have chased after the fairies a while ago?”

“Does it even matter? We can just go and catch them right now.”

“Why don’t we just break the door down?”

Kang Yoon-Soo shook his head and said, “We don’t have time for that.”

There was a round keyhole in the stone door; he inserted the Golden Compass into it. The compass fit perfectly into the keyhole, and the door opened slowly with a loud rumble. When it opened fully, it revealed a vast and grand area.

    “Oh my god…!”

    “What is this place…?”

A mine with countless jewels embedded in its walls appeared before the party, leaving them astounded by the sight before them.

The corrupted fairies had been living in a secret jewel mine.
