Chapter 917: Welcome back |
Mt. Chimney,
Diancie seemed to have lost its memories from its time as a Carbink, completely failing to recognize Rotom Pokédex and the others. However, it instinctively sensed danger and launched an attack.
The moves of several Pokémon swept out together, causing the Rotom Pokédex to dodge frantically while it quickly contacted Terrance.
Because they couldn’t harm Diancie, Ninetales, Gardevoir, and Beautifly didn’t go all out at first. This hesitation quickly caused them to be suppressed.
It was only after they realized that Diancie’s astonishing power far exceeded theirs that they began fighting at full strength. Even so, they could only barely restrain Diancie. They had no way to truly control it or calm it down.
“Ninetales~”
“Garde~~”
Including the Altaria from Mt. Chimney, four Pokémon joined forces, trying to stop Diancie’s rampage.
As for Rotom Pokédex, Froakie, and Togepi, their strength was insufficient, leaving them completely unable to intervene in the battle, so they hid off to the side.
“This is…” The first male Trainer to arrive looked at the battle below, his face filled with shock.
Gardevoir, Alolan Ninetales, Beautifly, and Altaria were surrounding and attacking a Pokémon he had never seen before, unleashing a heart-pounding clash. The immense energy shockwaves made him certain that if his Flygon got involved, it would be instantly swallowed.
“So it really was an explosion caused by battle? What kind of Pokémon could release such tremendous power… I could feel it even from that far away,” said the tall man who had arrived riding a Pidgeot.
“Hey, look! Aren’t those four Pokémon surrounding an ultra-rare Pokémon? A pink diamond… I’ve never seen this species before,” the female Trainer suddenly said, blinking as she looked toward Diancie at the center, a trace of amazement flashing in her eyes.
Although the three didn’t know each other, that didn’t stop them from communicating. All of them noticed Diancie’s uniqueness. The female Trainer even wanted to rush down to help it, but she was quickly stopped by a figure that suddenly flew out.
“Don’t move, Roto.”
Rotom Pokédex spread its arms and blocked the three, “There’s a Contest Master in Fallarbor Town, his main team includes Beautifly, Gardevoir, Ninetales, and Altaria. The situation here is complicated. I’ve already heard the sirens. You’d better not interfere recklessly.”
“But…”
As the three continued talking, another shocking surge erupted below. Diancie manipulated countless diamond mirrors, stirring up a sky full of shimmering light that spread across the entirety of Mt. Chimney. The overwhelming energy surged toward them, forcing the three Trainers to instinctively step back. At that moment, Diancie stomped on the mirrored surface, its deep eyes fixed on Ninetales and the others, showing no fear despite being outnumbered, and launched another fierce offensive.
The Trainers arriving one after another were all stunned. This level of power had already exceeded their understanding.
“All unrelated personnel, evacuate immediately! All unrelated personnel, evacuate immediately!!”
Officer Jenny sped like crazy, finally arriving at the mountaintop riding Arcanine. She stared in disbelief at the sky filled with countless mirrored surfaces, quickly pulling out her communicator to direct the officers behind her.
Immediately after, she called out to the Trainers in the sky.
“So those are Master Terrance’s Pokémon… what’s happening here must be related to him,” Jenny thought.
Even the police couldn’t intervene in the battle between the four Pokémon and Diancie. The only thing Officer Jenny could do now was prevent outsiders from interfering and disperse unrelated Trainers.
Soon after, the people from Fallarbor Gym also arrived. Seeing Diancie single-handedly confronting four Pokémon, Troy immediately showed an expression of disbelief.
The strength of Terrance’s main Pokémon was well known. Even in the Champion League they were considered top-tier, but now…
On Mt. Chimney, the situation had spiraled out of control. Rocks flew everywhere, and several sections of the mountain peak had been blasted flat.
“You’re saying that Pokémon is Carbink?” Kotoko showed an expression of disbelief after hearing Rotom Pokédex’s reply.
Diancie, with its body glowing in pink radiance, was praised as the most beautiful in the world. It could compress carbon in the air between its hands and instantly create numerous diamonds. Its battle stance captivated many of the arriving Trainers, leaving them unable to look away.
“When will this battle finally stop?”
Officer Jenny was filled with concern. After a long while, a figure appeared in the sky. At that moment, Diancie was restrained by Gardevoir’s psychic power, trapped within Silver Wind, and frozen by countless frost energies. After the intense clash, it was once again confined, but all the observing Trainers knew that it was only a matter of time before Diancie broke free.
And when that moment came, another round of fierce battle would inevitably erupt.
“Watch out!!” Suddenly, an officer shouted urgently upon seeing a figure leap down from the sky.
That figure slowly walked toward Diancie, placing himself at the very center of the battlefield, a nearly suicidal act that caused many to show worried expressions.
“Strange…”
The figure began muttering to himself. From the moment he appeared, the frost energy dissipated. His hand naturally reached out and touched the now-quiet Diancie, releasing a dazzling light.
“What, don’t recognize me anymore?”
Terrance spoke softly. The Fairy Mark fused with Diancie’s body, and under the influence of a mysterious power, countless fragments surfaced in Diancie’s mind. The Fairy Mark acted as a medium, awakening Diancie’s memories from its time as a Carbink.
As the flood of memories reassembled, Diancie stopped attacking.
“Who is that person?” In the sky, a Trainer who witnessed Terrance’s bold move asked with lingering fear.
Just moments ago, Terrance had walked straight into the battlefield, making them think he was finished, but the result had completely exceeded everyone’s expectations.
“He… he’s the Gym Leader of Fallarbor Gym, Terrance.”
Amid the shock of the officers and Trainers, Terrance had no time to care about his surroundings. Seeing the clarity gradually return to Diancie’s eyes, he smiled with relief, pulled Diancie into an embrace, and said:
“It’s good that you’re alright. Welcome back.”
