One of those rare times i disagree with ranobe's user ratings. This novel is a solid 4 out of 5, but personally, based on my own enjoyment, i would even give it 5 stars straight up. This novel isn't for beginners, you are expected to have a somewhat decent understanding of chinese mythology in order to enjoy it more. Knowing common cultivation novel tropes is also a requirement, since this novel relies on subverting these tropes and poking fun at them.
The mc is insane, not just because he's mentally ill, but rather, he chooses to be insane since he who used to be an average, peaceful person from Earth arrived at a bloodthirsty, ruthless, insane cultivation world against his will and can't cope. His insanity is both circumstantial and self-inflicted, since the world he arrived at is dangerous to the point that even the most basic of cultivation techniques have been tampered with by some unknown godly being who uses the entire world as a cattle farm. Armed with a talent that allows him to see flaws in all things, he embarks on the path of creating his own cultivation technique... and it just so happens that the only safe technique he could create that doesn't cause him to be devoured by some demon is a technique that causes memory loss and mental derangement...further damaging his mind. This is an mc who will pretend that the reality around him is nothing but a game and that other people are mere npcs, and he will do so to protect himself and to justify his callous actions, actions that often lead to ridiculous comedic results.
The author is also not afraid of employing the rule of cool, so you should expect badass things to happen.
The translation can be a bit weird sometimes, but it is otherwise fine to read. If you have nothing else to read, i hope you give this novel a shot. Have a good day.

Haven't read cultivation novels for over 3 years. I prefer business, slice of life and city life genres. But this novel is pretty good, in terms of humor and world building. As for me, each new world is more and more interesting. I wonder what will happen next. And yes, the main character is crazy because . I recommend reading 5/5

The MTL killed my desire to read any further somewhere past ch 200 (maybe 300), so keep that in mind.
Interesting premise. Broadly speaking, it's Cultivation X Misunderstandings... Except there's not that much actual cultivation going on.
MC grows his power level by grinding XP on 'mobs' via his cheat 'gaming console'. His other cheat is a type of Akashic record that reveals information about the things he's looking at. It also contributes to his cultivation, as he revises and creates his own cultivation method with the help of his eyes. As cultivation progresses, new powers are unlocked too. Now why am I mentioning this? Because a lot of time this stuff will just get benched when 'plot' happens, which creates a lot of moments where it's hard not to ask why MC didn't use x, y or z. What's interesting, is that there's a plot device that gives an excuse to MC for forgetting thing, but you can't really forget the existence of floating text right in front of you, for example, can't you? It's a nitpick, of course, but I found it annoying.
Regardless, it's kind of hard to comment on anything else, since it is MTL and all, but the story itself isn't terrible and there's some enjoyment to be had while reading it.

Oh man what trash

I like this novel, it's not to be taken seriously, just fun read, exactly what I needed with my long hours of work.
He, as a lot of people mentioned, is crazy, like, legit crazy lol. There are time when he is almost normal ofc, otherwise the novel won't be fun, it made me laugh out loud multiple times, and got annoyed in some, but fun experience overall.
Some people are mad about it, that is because they done the mistake of taking it seriously, don't do that.
There were times where I wished the novel was serious, the world building and shit was nice even thought kinda messy and needs more refinement, so I wished there was a normal interactions in some scenes and characters, not him just being crazy, but these were just thoughts.
Overall, I give it 3.5/5.

The best way to describe it would be a fever dream about a fastfood Xianxia novel with a lunatic as an mc.

The MC is kinda crazy but he is valid like at one time

I was liking this novel at start and have fun at many moments, but the more I read the more it become story of a murderhobo guy, MC would justify his actions than author will give dead guy some random backstory that make him look like "evil". For example the chat group, People talked sh*t about MC so MC go around world killing those people and author giving those guys Backstories that those guys were evil people so MC actually doing the right thing. Also MC going around provoking people for no reason, starting a fight than acting like a good guy. As MC strength grows he become more and more hypocrite, MC would kill people cause they thought bad about him. I don't wanted to read more when MC again killed a random guy who wanted to negotiate with MC, MC said No but guy still wanted to negotiate, MC doesn't like that the guy didn't back down so MC killed the guy. Also not much but author time to time praising china was also a bad teste in my mouth.
