    after more than 150 chapters , excellent story until after he turned a daemon , after that the story declined a lot - mc began to contradict itself , began to turn simp and lost about 20 IQ. The world is being developed and the story takes away unique partners like a ghost/skeleton and an ox - mc was cool but after it turned daemon , disappointed me with the quality fall.

    Seems more of faceslapping troupe!
    Starting to get a bit disappointed, like how does a xianxia novel with its main focus being on producing real human interactions and their psychology in every dealing but now comes the author with diluting a great story to a mediocre typical Chinese xianxia story.
    My disappointment is boundless!

      Before the soldier recruitment Arc, the story was great... (Though it had some rough kinks in its plot and power level.)
      But now in the Teashop phase, it seem the story is taking a typical phase of face slapping troupe....

      The ratings on this site is ludicrously stupid, The reviewers are too lenient on the scores. Well, probably because they never bother to deeply analyze novels like the people on novelupdates, overall it’s rudimentary.

          Well. On this site, You are basically reviewing solely on your opinion and absolutely nothing else. It’s as if people forgot how a novel should be properly structured, World building, Character thoughts, and etc. On this site, If you have a favoritism towards a novel, You basically only do 1 of 2 things. One, You dislike the comment/review that you didn’t approve without any valid explanation other than, “crap, my opinions differs from you. I can have my own opinions so I can dislike this comment without any proper explanation just because I can,” Like do people realize that proper constructive criticism and proper retorts are actually necessary in real scenarios instead of blindfolding themselves just to find out 4-5 years later?

          Main point, “What is the point of reviews when you don’t put a constructive feedback regarding the writing quality of the novel for other readers to know?”.

            Yes, I can understand what were you trying to say like people on novel updates give their reviews based on how the world-building was done, the character development of mc and sides characters, the powers and mysteries in it. Those guys write 2 or 3 paragraphs or more of what its good and bad points are and then review it.

            And I have also seen that 90% of the people on this site does not go into detail when they are reviewing or rating a novel. Maybe they are just new readers who started reading web novels and only read these fast food novels with the same trope of this system-instant OP mc, harem and sign-in novels cause in these novels world-building, one-dimensional side characters and character development are purely bad. Or maybe they just don't care and rate the novels they like to 5 stars and 1 star to those they don't like based on their preferences.

              You are right I really don’t care about quality right now for reading as I just read them to lift off my mental pressure from studying at university mostly.

              I only seek out good quality novels if I have several days if free time and I can say that I almost read all the famous and underrated novels with good plot and quality (this mostly includes completed novels as I don’t want it to be on my mind constantly and disrupt my studies).

              For this novel too I am reading it because of reading the reviews on novelupdates a long time ago and the drive to shorten my list of novels to read.

          There is a metric ton of issues regarding that, But I’ll point out the major flaw to save you some time.

          I’ll make it brief,

          Reviews -> allows a potential reader to get a general gist of the novel’s writing quality and development.

          Highly opinionated reviews [without things regarding grammar, world building, and etc] -> ???

          It should be pretty simple to see the issue.

    One of my absolute favorite cultivation novels (and I've read a lot of them). Only real downside is that the MC's power progression can seem a bit slow at the start while he's moving through the Qi Practitioner stages, but it's not much of an issue and it pretty much goes away entirely once he hits Foundation Building with progress neither seeming too slow or too fast.

    It's also really clear from the occasional Author Notes at the end of chapters that the author really put in a lot of effort into making a "realistic" world with "realistic" characters who remain faithful to their described sets of rules and principles, respectively.

    I'm 110 chapters in and so far, I've actually really enjoyed the story. It's not too trope-y at all and actually plays with a different system of cultivation than the norm. It also provides a better background for the MC which is really nice.
