They want to force him into a life of servitude, crafting pills for others while his own life is buried.

But Luo Chen refuses to accept a fate dictated by others. With unwavering resolve and a brilliant mind, he begins to climb the ranks, defying expectations and carving his own path towards the Great Dao. From an overlooked alchemist to a force to be reckoned with, his journey is one of resilience, defiance, and the relentless pursuit of immortality.

Ok, honest review here, first of all ignore all the hate in the comment section, this novel is unique in it's concept, it's purely about alchemy, mc is strong in battle but his true power is alchemy, characters are well developed, and mc got an amazing personality, the villains aren't 2d and u can actually understand there hatred and where it comes, the cultivation system is basic qi condensing, foundation establishment etc..., not a big deal but I still highly recommend this, I'd even compare it to top tier providence in terms of characters and mc

(review as of chapter 180) ahahahaha, are you serious? We definitely read the same book? Maybe you wrote a comment on the wrong book? Is it entirely devoted to alchemy? Dude, he made 4 different pills in 200 chapters, FOUR! Maybe he didn't make different pills back then, but studied basic knowledge and stuff? No, except for 2-3 mentions that he read the diary of a rank 3 alchemist, he didn't study anything else about alchemy. So where did you see here that the book is entirely devoted to alchemy? Alchemy takes up 10% of the activity here. 15% is spent calculating how many jade tablets of what quality he created, and of what quality. 20% is spent on cultivation. 3% is spent on leveling up skills. 7% is spent on battles. 15% is spent on communicating with characters. And 30% is just doing nothing, the author just writes some nonsense that is not interesting to read, everyone skips it, it does not reveal the character of the characters, nor the mechanics of the world, nor anything else, it was created only so that there was more text, and now that I think about it, there are probably not 30 of such fillers, but 50-60%, which is not surprising for a Chinese book, it's just that somewhere the authors of other books make it interesting, and here you can safely skip 3-4 chapters and continue reading without missing anything. So we really read the same book? Because of all the books that have the word alchemy in their title, this book probably devotes the least to alchemy itself

Just a light review of a few mistakes that made me drop it spoilers ahead .
1st when he was casting fireballs repeatedly he upgraded it and kept casting it but did not feel any difference but later they show the proficiency of more that needed for upgrade and he wants to feel the difference
2nd he did not check his system for a week and is later surprised about his proficiency in a pill which looks very immature like what are you doing all the time.
3rd when he has the money to purchase the materials he needs he goes all in like you do in a casino without even having any funds to try again if he fails which means if he failed he would need to take loans to survive instead he could have waited one week and be safe.

Sixth poison test, only 2 more to go.

I don't have much to say about this novel, it's interesting but not very surprising, as always, no heavy spoilers. middle

    Rating: C+ (3.8 to 4.0)
Note: I've only read 68 chapters.

    Potential: B (4.0 to 4.5)

The story is basically about a person who transmigrated to a world of cultivation as a loose, low-level cultivator. A common trope, really, but it was well used. ethsky

The protagonist of this story is called Luo Chen and he is basically what you would expect from an ordinary person in a cultivation world. sigh

He's not extremely determined, but he has resilience, mediocre talent, but he has a trick that helps him progress, albeit slowly, quite suspicious, fearful and not very intelligent, but with a lot of potential for development. whoknows

Honestly, he's basically a stable basis for character development, but I'm not sure the author will do that. sigh

Speaking of Golden Finger, his cheat is basically a proficiency panel, he can continuously improve his skills and evolve them depending on his proficiency level. hokage

Example: Beginner -> Proficient - Mastery -> Perfection, etc.
Note: the progression isn't exactly like that, it's just an example.

Skills have shown quantitative changes as they evolve, but not qualitatively, unfortunately. bond

My guess is that at some point the change will undergo a major evolution, but as of today, it hasn't happened yet. 15

The world hasn't been explored much either, but the foundations have already been laid, and the MC isn't stupid, but he's not clever either. 23

The story follows a linear and progressive flow, which is currently slow, but will probably start to speed up later on. reader

In short, a story that is currently ordinary, but still good to read. It has the potential to evolve, but we can't really say if it will. 12

They are theoretically impossible to exist, lmao. swindler

S-Rank novels are basically timeless masterpieces that everyone will enjoy reading. They are always totally 5 stars, but there are some that reach that level. sigh

Here is my list with ranking notes, it has 251 novels, but it may increase in the future. 9

There are several novels with Rank A, A+ and A++. 12

I recommend starting from the end to the beginning, there are more novels with high ratings. welldone
