      Uff, yea kinda ugly.
      I suggest to everyone to learn a bit jаvascript, I love reading so much that I just did that.

      with maybe a few hours or a day of learning and tampermonkey you can do simple things,

      e.g. after reading a novel where the translator/author made everything bold between "." I made a function to do that to every chapter including [.] '.'.

      I also encountered same issue this one has with no endline/spaces and made them myself after every sentence.


      The idea behind learning jаvascript came to me in 2019 after I started reading a lot of novels on different websites, kinda annoying to keep track where I was, so I made a chrome extension that bookmarks the novels for me, all automatic and works on all websites not gonna explain in details
      but it's such a huge quality of life. I use firebase (free) as database to store all my read novels (name + chapter + date) and use my bookmarks on mobile and PC.

      I use yandex browser on my mobile phone, yandex allows you to use chrome extensions on your phone, that means I can just read on my PC and continue on mobile with just a click.

    Read till chapter 16 and the story hasn't progressed even a bit.
    He has no aspirations nor any goal so far....all chapters are on loop MC acts low key > his superior orders him to dispatch the criminals > criminals underestimate him > Mc beats the criminals....and the cycle repeats.
    For far the one word I would use to explain this novel is lackluster.

    This novel doesn't have a naive MC all. So the naive protagonist is rather unnecessary.

    As for MC falling for beauty, he just doesn't give a damn about any girl.

    That's the pro of the novel, the con is it being like most xianxia novels: the older you are the more stupid you get.

    Plot holes, like sect masters were supposed to be great masters at the beginning but for the MC to obtain rewards they 'became' Profound realm experts. It was due to some second-in-command dudes being the same realm as them, but they were overshadowed.

    As for how the author solved it, those two second-in-command found 'accidentaly' leftover sword aura of the MC. Again, they 'accidentaly' broke through, evolved, or whatever term goes with this novel.


    If you don't think too much and focus on MC's actions from time to time, and basically disable your brain cells (like some actually enjoyable novels here where you just don't think too much and enjoy it), it's good for passing time.

    The MC looks for benefit in every move he does, he isn't naive at all. The problem with the characters should be that everyone seems stupid and need the MC to solve all problems. It becomes a bit exaggerated that the country or faction the MC belongs to doesn't show the strength they should. The most useful person that I saw was an old man surnamed Gu, and it was only useful because he didn't die battling against a demon and even chased him. The others all need help, to the point where there are literally impossible missions where they send groups of officers TWO realms below their objective and expect a miracle to come and solve everything. Also in the capital of the kingdom, where you should expect the strongest of the strong to take care of the safety at most had Profound Realm LVL 1 yet in the first visit of the MC to a county he battles two demons with Profound Realm LVL 6...

      Sounds pretty classic bad writing. Aka. forced plot. Author cannot make scene happen naturally. So you conveniently adjust IQ's of characters so they make stupid moves or you just spawn stuff from ether to happen.

        Yeah, but the biggest problem of the novel is that ALL characters grow in strength with the MC. You will ask Isn't that good? Then let me explain what I mean by that. When the novel starts a Great Master was OP and a Profound was so powerful that only old monsters had that realm. There are the officers of the empire that had ranks, at the start of the novel they more or less explain what kind of realm those ranks should have, like the Amethyst / Purple swordsman at the start of the novel, they are Great Masters (pretty shitty for the second-highest ranked) but then as the MC explores and attracts trouble we see more powerful enemies that should be handled by those Purple swordsman and they have at least two big realms in difference. Also at the start of the novel, the most dangerous in the prison are profound realm, as the MC becomes stronger, the prisoners entering the prison are in the greater realms. This is pretty stupid for a novel with a world established, it isn't like other novels where at the start the world changes and goes evolution. As if the strong enemies are only allowed to appear when the MC can kill them.

    It's not bad. It's actually quite good novel. I also read the mtl
    The naive protagonist tag is wrong, it's should be removed. The mc not naive at all.
    Actually the mc quite cunning, decisive and act low-key.

    MC friends grow up in power with him and not forgotten, which is good plus.

    And don't believe the rating, in the time I post this review, it's just 4 person who rate this novel, it can't be good standard.(and this could be the case with most novel rating)

    And of course, it has many flaws, but if you ignore it and not think too much, it is good to passing time

    In exploring novels, always try to read some chapters of the novel yourself, everyone have different tastes, maybe you will struck your favorite novel someday.

    Update : it's not 'not bad novel'!. It's actually 'good novel' compared to typical Chinese novel's standard. Try it!
