Kiliman always thought the life of a demon hunter was just about eating, sleeping, and slaying monsters.

But he soon realized there was way more to deal with—like troublemaking villagers, pompous nobles, cultists, sorceresses, monster girls… and even goddesses.

After diving deep into the life of legendary demon hunter Geralt, he came to one undeniable conclusion:

Sorceresses are a demon hunter’s most powerful weapon. Collapse

    I rate it 3.7 out of 5.

Not bad, but the characters really feel like NPCs from a game—their dialogues and actions are very similar, which I find strange. troll86

I read up to the latest available TL chapter, it’s smooth and interesting.

It feels as if the author is writing while simultaneously playing the game, since the starting point begins with the MC already working, even though he’s not a witcher.

His personality is rather loose, morally gray, and he doesn’t really care about others. He tries to complete missions and, when possible, relax with a beautiful woman he meets.

There doesn’t seem to be a harem here; the MC doesn’t stay with anyone for long, changing women like courtesans.

And he’s not OP; there’s a sense of gradually earning strength slowly and steadily. There’s also no attempt to “be friends with Ciri” or with anyone from the Witcher fanbase idols.

It also feels like the author just threw his MC directly into the Witcher world without bothering to adapt him or “create his own unique personality for the character,” which trash writers often love to do.

And in the adventures, we know just as much as the MC does, meaning there’s no excessive info dump about some gods, super-powerful skills, possible odds, or who is where, etc. None of that, or very little, is present. It’s as if the author is sticking to the logic of “show, don’t tell.”

And really, why dump info if the readers are fans who already know the world?

I don't know about the later chapters, but the beginning is definitely better than the shitty Divine Hunter, and starting with the breath in The Witcher

I love Witcher fanfics, but unfortunately, all the fanfics I've read since Divine Hunter have been complete crap.

Divine Hunter is shit after chapter 500, and the MC turns into a heel (a dog of some demigoddess) from a regular witcher. troll9

There's also a lot of info dump, with cardboard characters. For example, the attempt to describe a "very scary" character as a villain or a terrible monster. It's as if the author has briefly played the game with cheats enabled, without understanding the essence.

The events take place three years before the start of The Witcher 3. The first 10 chapters are White Orchard lore, then it's its own storyline intertwined with the game. I'm enjoying it so far.
