The Scattered Arts, lost pages of manuals gathered from scattered archives from all across the world. Known also as the Old Arts, these are what remained from a vast collection of knowledge that was destroyed during the war that almost wiped out all of mankind. But we prevailed. Mankind rebuilt and reached for the stars.

Wang Xuan, a student of the Old Arts Research Department, had read about tales of individuals capable of inhuman feats, of practitioners ascending to the realm of immortality. But in an age of technological wonders, not many would believe in such tales. Only the truly desperate, and with the wealth and resources at their disposal, could even dream of unlocking the secrets behind these tales.

Corporate greed. This was how the research into the old arts started. But with new discoveries made in the New World, and the Old Arts declared obsolete in the way of the ‘New Arts’, the studies into the realm of the ancients is coming to an end.

Are the immortals real? Can mankind truly break its shackle of mortality and escape death? These are questions that Wang Xuan desperately sought to answer. He was determined to walk down the path of the Old Arts even as he reached for the stars beyond.

Original Blurb:

In the vast expanse of the universe, the birth and death of a galaxy are but fleeting flashes of light.

Gazing up at the starry sky, there’s always a touch of melancholy, as if our fates have already been written. Where will you and I be a thousand years from now? Our homeland, the spark of our civilization, Earth itself, they are but specks of dust in the vast void of space.

A moment in the cosmos is a millennium on Earth.

The lifespan of an insect is but an autumn, and just like it, you and I are trying to navigate our brief existence.

What lies at the very edge of deep space? Collapse

Translation starts off decent but slowly turns awful, tagged as completed but missing 2/3 of the novel so it ends in the middle of the novel, it had potential but the lack of clarity on realms/power levels being all over the place made it a choir to read, sometimes one realm would have 3 different names constantly changing through chapters I would give it a 4/10 due to bad translation and tagged as completed with over half the chapters missing.

If it had good translation and uploaded all the chapters would be around a 6/10

Read till chapter 92. I was bored so i thought i would give it a try.

    For me its a 6/10

There are no cliques but there is nothing noteworthy. The entire power structure is not really explained. The power lvls are not explained either so fights are hard to bring context into. The plot lines are using elements that are not even introduced or used as an introduction but more of a way close them off without any afterthought.

For example. He gets an assassination attempt on him and he wonders who is the mastermind. Then it is someone big!

The romance... The novel literally starts with a romeo/Juliet type scenario. Where a rich family does not want their daughter to associate with the mc. So the MC breaks of his relationship with the daughter before the novel starts and all his problems begin from there and romance has not been really mentioned besides using it as a way to cause issues.

The author actually encourages you to not read. Lets create a MC that stops dating his gf because he can't handle the pressure of her family. Then to make it better lets make the power-system really abstract and then use a few chapters to explain that his path to power is useless because even the people that went far into his path can still be killed by a single bullet. (Not true, probably but still great idea to start a novel with this premise)

World building... A lot of characters introduced but no meaning. For example wow big family... rich... powerful... Oke rich how... oke powerful how? There is 0 context for any character. Same for power lvl's. Yes hes really strong. Oh MC becomes really strong... So who is stronger... hmmm... oh mc just one shot 10 guys of the same lvl and then struggles with someone else that just got introduced and killed in the same chapter !?! What am i even reading.

Plot-holes are also fun to read. Everyone comes from a rich family that studies at the academy and then he is worried about the desk that got destroyed by assassins... Or that the new faction has a population of more then a million and the old faction has a population of mc and an elder with 2-3 side characters that watch.

The first 12 in a half chapters are something you can skip if you want. They are a quite boring and it is all about "woe is us" (life sucks) and the dissolution of a college that focused on ancient cultivation. The fist 12 chapters really make you want to just drop the LN if they don't turn around this negative story fast. But there is a change that happens at the end of chapter 13 that puts a positive direction to the LN. You won't really miss out on to much by just skipping to the 13th chapter.
