Victor can’t wait to get the hell out of high school, go to the local community college on a sports scholarship, and start his own life. But that’s all put on hold when he enters his abuela’s house and somehow ends up stepping into a world unlike anything he’s ever known, filled with fantastical meta-humans; walking, talking devils; and other creatures one usually needs some serious pharmaceuticals to see.

Fanwath is no dream, though. In fact, it’s a nightmare. Sold into slavery as a pit fighter, Victor quickly learns his new home is controlled by the “System,” and the only way to get ahead is to fight, kill, and collect the precious “Energy,” which means the difference between a long life and an early grave. And according to his stats, Victor’s starting out at a solid zero.

Lucky for him, no one in this world has ever met his kind before—which means they have no idea what he’s really capable of. But they’re about to find out...

if you can get through the beginning of this story, you'll find it quite good. the main problem with this one is the idealistic protagonist and the "hulk smash!" action scheme. but the author lets the hero change and the story itself gets better. unlike "Shadow Slave" there are normal gender relations and no 27 year old virgins whose actions make you feel ashamed every time.

This buritos swears the girl in love and breaks up with her after 2 months, don't they make you feel ashamed of these actions?

Why should I be ashamed? This is a very real life situation. Love till death is rare. Read fairy tales. They always end with a vow of love or marriage, but they don't tell what happens next. Can you guess why?

many authors have screwed up trying to make the perfect hero and the perfect relationship. it becomes boring to read because it turns into a description of everyday problems and events. it hurts the story.

It was good at the start, but this guy has a major messiah complex. Anything bad or any injustice occurring, he will stick his head in. EVEN THOUGH ITS IDIOTIC. He could walk away, but he doesn’t even when he’s in dire straights. And the side character he’s with rn is basically baggage.

If you want a solo story about a badass independent minded character, move on. This ain’t it chief.

Meh, has potential, MC takes L’s throughout the first book and is frustrating to read. System mechanics are interesting enough though
