    I only read to ch. 39. The story is too dark and gloomy as well as too boring. I don't think the MC has cast more than one spell so far and the story isn't enthralling enough to keep reading. The novel isn't some massive 2000 chapter work, it is only 550 chapter long, so the fact that the MC has only just started to learn to cast spells by ch. 39 is too slow. Also I personally want to read a Harry Potter fanfic that takes place in Hogwarts castle, and this one doesn't.

    A novel case where a Fanfic doesn't partially/wholly follow the original plot, and instead uses the existing universe to craft a story.

    Well executed and a pleasure to read.

    Does suffer a bit, not so much as a "Rushed Ending", but more of a "Hurried along conclusion". Doesn't miss out on anything just feels to quick.

    please ignore the reviews that say this isn't a HP fanfic because there's no Harry Potter, it's set in potterverse with harry removed and all the canon events till Voldemort kills James and Lily
    the story starts the same year the Harry is supposed to be invited for hogwarts and MC is reincarnated into an orphan boy and has strong soul due to both his and orphans soul combining and is a genius of the era at magic, also he gets Cheat Items which are lore friendly but are really OP.

    Honestly as someone who has read Harry Potter fanfics before. This is currently #2 for me with "HP A magical Journey" being #1.

    Second, idk which fool has said it's a xianxia, it's a normal transmigration into HP verse novel with some twists in space and time.

    Now something about the story. I'd gove it a solid 4/5 among HP fanfics, the pacing, plot everything is good. The novelwas thought and outlined in advance like a good novel except the final volume

    The whole journey is wonderful with some wondeful use of magic. The ending is kinda quick with not much words said about after the defeat of Voldemort. Just short timeskip and some badic explanations which does not clear everything.

    TLDR: give it a read HP Fans

        Go ahead and try "A Bend in Time" its on webnovel and you can read it for free. A rather long book, last i checked crossed 1000 chapters but its actually really good although leans more on darker fringes of the hp world.

    First off pls ignore most comments below they are either wrong, biased or haven't read the book.
    It's a 3.7/5 book although it starts slow and clunky it is smoothed out along the way and becomes quite interesting. The story is good though the title of the book might be discouraging, I do not think the author would have been able to write a book as good as this if the author didn't use The Harry Potter world as the foundation for the story

    I really have a hard time understanding the negative opinions regarding this. Sure there are some Chinese xianxia elements, but not to the extent that they overshadow the Harry Potter theme. I find the story rather engaging, with political and moral dialogue that you don’t normally find in a fanfic.

    In fact, people say it’s all negatives, a grim dark setting. But that’s just the realism of the politics, and self interest, that act as the background of the setting of this fanfic. Something that J.K. Rowling actually didn’t delve too deeply into because of the fact that it was primarily a young adult’s series. Most of the political content is even something that has clear connections with western history up to the current century.

    And as far as doing a Harry Potter story without Harry Potter; it’s like they never read any of Marvel’s What If comics that delved into alternate history if a key event had turned out differently.
