That girl had first learned about Danbulf from a picture book, and had been his fan since. That also made her greatly admire summoners. The main reason for that were the sacred beasts depicted in that same picture book, with Pegasus being the one she liked the most.

After seeing Pegasus’ gallant figure in those pages, it even got to the point that she had dreams of soaring through the skies while riding on Pegasus.

「I see, I see, so you like Pegasus.」

The girl kept on rambling about how much she liked Pegasus, so Mira smiled and summoned Pegasus right next to her.

「It’s Pegasus!」

The girl exclaimed happily while hopping with joy. Pegasus also seemed to quickly realize what was happening, and leaned against the girl’s hand as she tried to pet him.

The onlookers had witnessed the magic circle glow and Pegasus emerge from it, and they couldn’t help but voice their admiration. To them—knowing little about summoning—this was undeniable proof that Mira truly was the Spirit Queen, and they assumed she had just performed something extraordinary.

But it was a bit too late for them to ask for autographs or handshakes.

Mira wanted to fulfill that girl’s dream, so she quickly got her on Pegasus’ back, climbing right behind her and then lifting up into the sky together.

Bringing back summoners was important for Mira, but she would never ignore someone who loved Danbulf so much, and would do anything to make their dreams come true. Seeing the girl’s joy made it all the more worthwhile.

They flew over the city of Sutra for around half an hour, until the sun was beginning to set. At that time, Mira asked the girl where she lived, and took her there on Pegasus.

Her house was quite distant from the business and port district of the city, which was where Mira had been earlier. The girl’s mother came out when they arrived, and seemed surprised to see them like that. But as the girl’s mother, she was well aware of her daughter’s dreams, and was beside herself with joy seeing that her daughter had been able to ride on Pegasus.

Both of them profusely thanked Mira, who headed back to a nearby avenue in Sutra.

While flying around on Pegasus, Mira had noticed that most of the travelers and tourists were gathered in the districts around the port, while closer to the center of the city, the streets were far less crowded.

As she walked along the avenue, she actually felt less overwhelmed by people. But she also noticed the environment felt different as well. To be more precise, as she walked, she could feel many eyes turning her way, and they felt different from those she received at the port.

(Hmm… It seems the more rowdy crowds gather in these parts.)

Mira arrived at the answer from the sounds of brawls and the general appearance of the people there.

Those with a more hot blooded nature, like adventurers and sailors, gathered in this distant avenue. That was also why all of those eyes turning at Mira were looking at her with worry.

Even with her recent growth in popularity as the Spirit Queen, her appearance remained the same, that of a young girl, so it was no surprise that many people got worried seeing her in such a place.

Yet, none of them spoke to her, as they were afraid of scaring her off instead. Mira disregarded all of that, merely focusing only on searching for an inn.

(I might still have some luck around here.)

She had already seen various inns as she walked by, and she had also noted the lack of tourists. That meant there had to be empty rooms nearby, so she quickly entered one of the inns.

Inside, that inn looked like any others that housed adventurers, the first floor being closer to a tavern, and the second floor with the guest rooms.

「Now this is what I’m talking about.」

It was right about dinner time, so the first floor was filled with people. It was hard to know how many of them were just eating, and how many were staying there as well, so just to make sure, Mira headed to the counter to ask.

That was, until she overheard something.

「That summoner? Bah, all of them are useless!」

There were many loud high strung voices all around her, but those words rang very clear in Mira’s ears.

「What…was that?」

She stopped and instantly turned to face the direction that voice came from, glaring intensely as she searched for the perpetrator. Eventually she heard the same voice, its owner cackling as he continued talking.

「They should at least focus on Concept Magic instead.」

「Like those dumb black armor things? I just cut down one of those, thinking it was a monster, and it was like cutting wet paper.」

「If anything, those should just be decoys.」

He continued complaining on and on about that. But because he was making so much noise, it was incredibly easy for Mira to locate him.

The man making fun of summoners was sitting at a table next to the wall, his face red from all the alcohol he had drank, but his features were actually rather attractive. He was likely saying all of that for attention, still driven by youthful immaturity.

Seeing this, Mira could only grumble, 」Young people these days…,」 before slowly closing the distance. She decided to be merciful and simply adjust his charming features—the very ones that had been so popular with the ladies.

She pushed her way between the other drunkards there, and eventually got a full view of that table.

There were three other men sitting at that table with the young man, who were all trying to appease him before he caused too much of a scene. Even when they reminded him that summoners were starting to be seen in a better light recently, thanks to the Spirit Queen, there was nothing stopping his tirade.

「Hah, I bet she just happened to be there during that fight and became famous for it. At least I heard she’s kinda cute, so I guess I could let her spend a night with me. Even summoners can be of use if they’re girls!」

His three companions recognized he was starting to get carried away, so they kept telling him, 「You’ve said enough,」 「Stop, you’re too drunk,」 「Let’s just call it a night,」 and so on, but he just started cackling loudly.

(Oh…it seems it won’t be plastic surgery, but a castration tonight.)

That young man had just insulted Mira and all the female summoners she knew, like Leyla, Rina, Emilia, and the other students at Arkite’s Academy, so Mira’s anger reached another level.

And then someone else intervened.

「Hey, you there. This is just a friendly warning, but you better zip it already.」

A sharp and commanding voice rang from a nearby table. When Mira looked there, she saw a man who looked like the spitting image of a seasoned warrior.
