Chapter 939: A Single Sword Strikes Out

At the outset of the battle, the human Battle Masters held a steady and dominant advantage.

With the shields of the two Legendary Battle Masters as their ultimate safety net, the Battle Masters on the ship fought with no worries holding them back, their attacks even more fierce and ruthless.

A Peak Battle Master roared, a giant ape Battle Soul manifesting behind him. His Battle Power condensed into a millstone-sized fist, which he punched out, directly smashing the skull of a charging giant whale sea beast, sending it collapsing limply into the sea.

Another Battle Master, a weapon specialist, leaped into the air. Several sharp arcs of blade light swept horizontally,

instantly severing over a dozen octopus tentacles that were lunging forward. Deep green blood sprayed across the sky.

"Is this all you've got, daring to block your grandpa's way?"

"Is the Sea Emperor Clan only capable of sending these small fry to their deaths?"

"Just wait until I reach the Sea God Temple. I'll make sure you water-dwelling crawlers understand the might of human Battle Masters!"

The taunts spread with the sea breeze.

The momentum of the human Battle Masters grew stronger and stronger, treating this merely as a warm-up before reaching the Sea God Temple.

The leading Sea Emperor Clan powerhouse watched his subordinates falling in droves, the chill in his blue pupils intensifying.

He finally moved.

*Boom—!*

His serpent tail slapped the sea surface violently, and his massive body instantly shot into the air.

Nine deep-blue World Rings suddenly lit up beneath his feet!

These World Rings were utterly different from those of human Battle Masters. Each one exuded a faint divinity, ancient runes swirling along their bodies. The moment they lit up, the seawater across the entire sea area seemed to be summoned, churning and roiling wildly.

"Insolent humans who don't know their place."

He snorted coldly, the muscles in his arm suddenly tensing.

The golden trident in his hand, carrying a force capable of destroying heaven and earth, was hurled towards the sky.

The instant the trident left his hand, all the light between heaven and earth seemed to be instantly drained, converging entirely upon that weapon.

The violent storm even paused for a moment.

The trident swelled wildly in mid-air, transforming into a golden light pillar that pierced through the heavens and the earth.

Carrying a pressure sufficient to crush everything, it smashed down fiercely towards the ship's light barrier!

*Swoosh—!*

The sound of space being torn apart was bone-chilling.

It was also an early warning.

"Not good!"

The faces of the two Legendary Battle Masters changed drastically. They poured out their Battle Power without any reservation, and the light of the barrier instantly brightened to its extreme.

Yet, the moment that golden thunderous light descended, dense, spiderweb-like cracks instantly crawled across the previously indestructible light barrier!

*Crack—*

Brittle snapping sounds rang out one after another. The two Legendary Battle Masters simultaneously spewed out a mouthful of blood, their faces turning as pale as paper. The Legendary World Rings beneath their feet instantly dimmed, losing their luster.

The defense formed by their Battle Power was like a stream colliding with an ocean before this strike, offering not even a sliver of resistance.

With a deafening crash like shattering glass, the light barrier completely exploded into a sky full of glittering fragments.

A violent shockwave, like a tidal wave, swept across the entire deck.

Battle Masters of slightly weaker strength were sent flying without even having time to scream.

By the time they fell into the raging waves, they were instantly torn to shreds by the surrounding sea beasts.

The battle situation took a drastic turn for the worse in that moment.

The two Legendary Battle Masters crashed heavily onto the deck, several bones broken, blood continuously welling up in their mouths. It was clear they had little fighting power left.

The sturdiest line of defense on the human side had collapsed in an instant.

*Hum—!*

The leading Sea Emperor Clan brute raised his hand in a beckoning gesture. The golden trident tore through the air and returned, landing back in his grasp.

The sea beasts and Sea Emperor Clan soldiers following behind him, as if injected with adrenaline, roared madly and surged towards the deck like a tidal wave.

The human Battle Masters, who had been holding their ground, instantly lost their footing against this suicidal charge.

Without the protection of the shield, violent waves continuously crashed onto the deck. The ship, already rocking violently, became even harder to stand on.

The Battle Masters at the front couldn't hold back the tide of frenzied sea beasts.

Sharp claws and fangs tore through their defenses, ripped through their skin and flesh. Screams of agony rang out one after another.

The deck was soon stained red with blood. Broken blades and severed limbs were scattered everywhere.

The Battle Masters who had been hurling taunts earlier now had only extreme terror on their faces.

Some tried to retreat, only to have their shoulders bitten by a sea beast pouncing from behind, dragged mercilessly into the sea.

Others expended their last shred of Battle Power, attempting to perish together with a sea beast, but were instantly surrounded and torn apart by several beasts.

Still others, in their panic, tried to jump into the sea to escape. But the moment they hit the water, their legs were bitten off by sea beasts lurking below.

The ship's hull had already been rammed open in several huge holes by the sea beasts. Icy seawater poured frantically into the cabins. The entire ship began to tilt violently. More than half of the gunwale was already submerged in the seawater. It looked like it was about to capsize completely.

An atmosphere of despair, like the icy seawater, instantly drowned everyone on the ship.

Li Qingran had originally been standing by the gunwale, not planning to intervene.

Her purpose for this journey was the inheritance of the Sea God Temple. She didn't want to expend too much energy on the way, nor did she want to get entangled in meaningless slaughter.

Furthermore, Hades had reminded her that the Sea God was cleverer than the Fire God, and it was best not to reveal some of her strength.

But now, the ship was tilting more and more. The rain around her was mixed with the thick smell of blood.

That Sea Emperor Clan powerhouse held his trident. A swing of his serpent tail sent two Peak Battle Masters flying. His blue pupils were filled with arrogance and contempt. He was still roaring, "Lowly humans, unworthy of touching the Sea God's glory!" completely blocking the path to the Sea God Temple.

The casual indifference in her eyes instantly faded, replaced by a sharp, icy edge.

This sudden change in aura was caught by the woman beside her.

She looked at Li Qingran's profile, a trace of astonishment contained within her gaze.

Li Qingran's fingers tightened around her sword hilt. She turned her head and gave the woman beside her a sweet smile:

"Don't be afraid, sister. You brought me aboard. This time, I'll protect you!"

As her words fell.

*Screech—!*

A clear, sharp sword cry suddenly cut through the sound of the downpour and the fierce battle.

Nine World Rings rose sequentially from beneath her feet. The purple-and-black rings shone with dazzling light. The final, golden-tinged red hundred-thousand-year World Ring suddenly blazed brightly. A vast torrent of Battle Power poured unreservedly into the longsword in her hand.

Just as all the human Battle Masters were being pushed back step by step by the sea beasts, on the verge of being completely annihilated.

Li Qingran struck out with her sword!

The silver-white Sword Qi swelled for hundreds of zhang, like a thunderbolt splitting the dark night.

With a sharp sound of tearing through the air, it slashed fiercely towards the hundred or so Sea World Beasts madly surging towards the deck.

Wherever the Sword Qi passed, even the churning waves were forcibly split in two.

The thick-skinned sea beasts didn't even have time to scream before being cleanly sliced in half. A rain of scalding blood mixed with seawater exploded open, instantly clearing a blank space within the dense horde of sea beasts.

The chaotic battlefield,

also fell abruptly silent in that moment.
