Chapter 1054 A Divine Reward: Egg Yolk Pie

At the table, Liu Maopao had already charmed three of the four diners.

His gaze now turned to the last man, a merchant.

However, the merchant had already recognized Liu Maopao. As a fellow entrepreneur, he held immense admiration for the endlessly replayed advertisements of the Warm and Sleepy Textile Factory's wool sweaters. Encountering Liu Maopao here was an unexpected and delightful surprise.

The two merchants exchanged cheerful introductions, shaking hands as if they were long-lost relatives.

Naturally, the two tables were pushed together.

The merchant, beaming, declared that he would cover the entire bill, overjoyed by the turn of events.

Soon after, the seafood arrived. Everyone devoured the feast with gusto, finding great joy in the meal.

The two young Mongolian boys, E'zhe and Zhebu, were utterly captivated by their first taste of delicacies from the sea.

“These strange fish and shrimp are incredibly delicious,” the youngest, E'zhe, exclaimed. “Are they all caught from the sea?”

Liu Maopao replied, “Yes! Fishermen go out in boats and bring them back.”

E'zhe continued, “I heard the ocean is vast and untamed, so you can just catch whatever you want, right?”

Liu Maopao nodded. “Indeed, you can catch what you like, but there are fierce pirates out there. You've seen ‘Battle of Liaoluo Bay,’ haven't you? You must have seen them.”

E'zhe’s eyes lit up. “That's my favorite movie! I love naval battles!”

Liu Maopao chuckled. “If you like it so much, you could study naval tactics. Imagine, one day you could establish a Mongolian Navy, wipe out all the pirates, and then you could catch all the seafood you desire!”

“Oh? How do I learn that?” E'zhe asked eagerly.

Liu Maopao pointed to Sun Chuanting. “Principal Sun is sitting right here. Why don't you ask him?”

E'zhe turned his innocent gaze towards Sun Chuanting.

Sun Chuanting cursed silently. *This kid is ruthless. A Mongolian Navy, really? Only you could come up with such a notion.*

However, given that the Mongolian child before him was an heir of the Heavenly Khan, a descendant of Genghis Khan, he couldn't openly mock Liu Maopao. Instead, he smiled gently at E'zhe. “If you wish to learn about naval matters, you are welcome at my academy. We just established a specialized maritime program not long ago.”

E'zhe was ecstatic. “Great, great! I want to learn to be a naval officer!”

Everyone else at the table exchanged glances.

The adults looked at Liu Maopao, thinking, *If this Mongolian child continues to associate with Liu Maopao, he's bound to turn into a good-for-nothing.*

But no one was inclined to meddle.

The meal lasted for about an hour. Outside, dusk was settling, and evening had arrived. The grand restaurant was ideally situated in the heart of Xi'an, directly overlooking the Caishikou Plaza below.

Every day at this hour, it was time for Gaojia News, and the streets were already bustling with crowds.

The Kulinan from the Prince of Qin's Residence slowly rolled up. Zhu Cunji and his consort stepped out, cheerfully making their way to their private viewing stand. Lian Guoshi had been transferred, so no one was brazenly squeezing onto his stand anymore, leaving him feeling a touch lonely. His consort, too, missed the company of the governor’s wife for conversation, feeling that something was amiss.

As the couple lamented their solitude, Padi Tu and his entourage emerged from the adjacent restaurant.

Zhu Cunji's face lit up. He quickly called out, “Brother Rabbit, come, come! Join this heir to watch Gaojia News!”

Padi Tu replied, “Oh? Wonderful!”

Sun Chuanting was truly amazed. *This Padi Tu, he's so popular? Even the Prince of Qin's heir goes out of his way to invite him?*

So, the large group settled down beside Zhu Cunji, even the children brazenly squeezing in.

Liu Maopao immediately greeted Zhu Cunji, “Uncle Zhu!” Then, turning to the consort, he added, “Auntie, you're wearing one of our wool sweaters! Tomorrow, your nephew will send you another one.”

The consort was delighted.

In an instant, the boy had secured his place at the viewing stand.

Sun Chuanting couldn't help but think, *This fellow's future achievements will be immeasurable.*

Hardly two words were exchanged before the news broadcast began.

It opened with international news: the Mongolian tribes, led by the Wushen Tribe, acting on the command of Genghis Khan’s descendant, E'zhe, had launched a punitive expedition against the Khorchin Tribe. Significant victories had already been achieved, with the greater part of the Khorchin Tribe submitting to the Wushen Tribe...

Everyone present turned their heads, casting peculiar glances at E'zhe.

E'zhe was still young and understood nothing of the nuances, completely oblivious to their strange looks. He grinned broadly, “Haha, I gave the orders! I even had Sister Gao Yiye take out the Imperial Seal and stamp their agreement!”

Everyone was speechless.

Just then, the Heavenly Lord's cotton figure on Padi Tu's chest suddenly spoke. “E'zhe, you've done very well! I've decided to grant you a magnificent reward.”

E'zhe was overjoyed. “Wow, the Heavenly Lord has manifested! And he says he'll give me a great reward!”

The others were startled, quickly performing various forms of respectful salutations to the Heavenly Lord.

The Heavenly Lord's figure then broke into a mischievous grin. “The reward will arrive immediately.”

In the next second, the inky night sky was suddenly torn open by a colossal golden hand, clutching a peculiar round object that resembled an enormous pancake.

The common folk watching Gaojia News in Caishikou Plaza erupted in cheers, quickly scattering in all directions. Then, the Heavenly Lord's gigantic golden hand gently placed the immense pancake onto the ground.

The center of the plaza was instantly filled by this gargantuan pancake.

It loomed like a colossal house, dominating everyone's vision.

The cotton Heavenly Lord figure chuckled, “This is E'zhe's reward. Its name is: Egg Yolk Pie!”

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd, followed by confused murmurs.

The cotton Heavenly Lord figure chuckled again. “It's delicious, E'zhe. You can enjoy it freely, and you can also cut it into smaller pieces and send it back to the grasslands for your brothers and sisters to enjoy.”

E'zhe was ecstatic. “Thank you, Heavenly Lord!”

He dashed off the viewing stand and dug a small piece from the giant Egg Yolk Pie, popping it into his mouth. Sweet! Delicious! Wonderfully fragrant. Such a delightful treat certainly couldn't be enjoyed alone.

E'zhe quickly called out to the surrounding townsfolk, “I'll offer half of this as payment! Will a prominent merchant step forward and help me cut it into small pieces, package them, and transport them back to the Mongolian grasslands? Is anyone willing to do this for me?”

Was that even a question?

Of course someone was willing!

Provided the profit was high enough, there was nothing a merchant couldn't achieve.

Soon, a capable merchant took on the task. He hired a large crew of workers, claiming half of the Egg Yolk Pie for himself, and meticulously cut the remaining half into smaller portions, carefully packaged them, and stored them in a warehouse.

Then, load by load, the pie was transported by wagons back to the Mongolian grasslands, distributed among the “Mongolian people of Genghis Khan.”

And so, the Mongols of the steppe, fierce nomads who lived by the wolf's creed, nearly all received a large piece of Egg Yolk Pie.

Savoring the sweet taste, they once again felt how wonderful the things from the Han people truly were.

However...

For some reason, they started putting on weight rather quickly after eating this treat.

Their bodies grew stout, and their hair became slick and shiny.

Riding horses began to feel a little less agile.

Minor details, who cared about that?

Just keep eating, that's all!
