Chapter 303: Law Gem and Law Talent
After staying in the Lightning Element Space for more than three months, Su Nan received a message from Lize to return to Starlight Continent.
The first thing Lize did upon seeing him was deliver some important news.
"A Floating City from the Star Spirit Clock Tower has recently been mobilized."
Su Nan's gaze sharpened. "Which Floating City is it?"
Lize replied, "Youhuang Plane."
The Floating Cities of the Wizard Faction were typically stationed in various core planes. For example, during peacetime, the Star Spirit Clock Tower's Floating City was usually garrisoned at the Main Plane of the Plane Cluster or in various core Sub Planes. Thus, as long as they kept a close watch on these planes, they could generally anticipate the movements of the Floating Cities.
Youhuang Plane was one of the core Sub Planes of the immense Peak Plane Cluster where the Star Spirit Clock Tower was located.
"Which True Spirit Wizard is guarding Youhuang Plane?" Su Nan asked.
"Gunter Sharp," Lize answered. "His Blazing Sun City just departed from Youhuang Plane three days ago, but his exact destination remains unknown."
Su Nan’s eyes flickered as he said to Lize, "Immediately gather the army and assemble at Wave Plane. Be careful not to make too much noise."
Lize nodded but asked, puzzled, "Why are you gathering the army?"
Su Nan smiled knowingly. "Would you believe me if I said I plan to slay a god?"
"You're joking, right?" Lize exclaimed, surprised.
Su Nan spread his hands in response.
Seeing this, Lize finally realized that Su Nan was serious, and her eyes widened in shock. "Which God are you going to deal with?"
"Spider Goddess."
Although Su Nan now controlled the Gravity Law, his strength was still far from that of a true True Spirit Wizard. Successfully slaying a god would be impossible without gathering an army to besiege her; he needed allies to have any chance of success.
This undertaking could not be accomplished without Lize's help and cooperation, so it was essential to inform her of the details of the operation in advance.
"Spider Goddess?"
Lize furrowed her brows, doubt etched on her face.
She recalled Su Nan mentioning that when the Starlight Continent was under a Plane blockade, the Spider Goddess had attempted to seize control of it, only for Su Nan to thwart his conspiracy. The two had even engaged in a brief skirmish.
In truth, Su Nan and the Spider Goddess shared a significant feud.
Nevertheless, this alone should not have driven Su Nan to contemplate the idea of killing a god. After all, the Spider Goddess was formidable, and having absorbed the Crescent Moon Divine Authority, his power had grown immensely. Striking against the Spider Goddess at this time would be quite reckless.
If Su Nan truly sought revenge, he could wait until he had advanced to the True Spirit Wizard realm.
Noticing Lize's doubts, Su Nan coughed lightly and explained the situation regarding the Wizard’s ambush of the Spider Goddess.
Upon hearing this, Lize was taken aback. She fell silent for a moment before asking, "How do you know about this?"
Clearly, the ambush orchestrated by the Star Spirit Clock Tower was a closely guarded secret. It was likely known only to high-ranking members of the organization, let alone outsiders. How did Su Nan come by this information?
"The Wizard told me," Su Nan replied calmly. "I have an agreement with him to keep his identity secret, but I assure you that the information is absolutely accurate."
"I see."
Even though she harbored doubts, Lize did not question Su Nan's words further.
"Where is the exact ambush location?"
"Blood Abyss."
Lize's eyes flickered with surprise, though it was tinged with understanding.
The Blood Abyss, like the Elemental Plane, was one of the Outer Planes.
Its expanse was vast, hundreds of times larger than the Starlight Continent, but the environment was incredibly hostile, filled with active volcanoes, poisonous swamps, and miasma-choked, desolate forests.
For ordinary creatures, the Blood Abyss resembled a wasteland saturated with toxins. Entering it would spell instant doom, with even souls becoming trapped and consumed by its denizens.
Even someone as powerful as a Great Knight would struggle to survive more than a day in the Blood Abyss.
Only the various demons inhabiting that realm could truly thrive in such an environment.
The Demon of the Blood Abyss was countless. The weaker Demons could be easily wiped out by dozens, even by a single Knight, but the more powerful Demons, like the Blood Abyss Lord, were formidable enough to contend with Gods and True Spirit Wizards.
In a way, the Demon group was practically immortal. No matter how many Demons were killed, it wouldn’t be long before the Blood Abyss birthed a new batch—endless and infinite. If not for the Demons’ chaotic nature, their penchant for infighting, and their constant mutual slaughter, perhaps the Blood Abyss would have already conquered the entire Multiverse.
Due to the harsh environment, barren resources, and countless dangerous and terrifying Demons, very few outside beings were willing to set foot in the Abyss. However, for the same reason, the Blood Abyss became one of the best hiding places for many creatures seeking refuge from their enemies. As long as one hid within the vast Blood Abyss, there was little fear of being discovered by foes—provided, of course, one didn’t attract the attention of a Blood Abyss Lord.
It was no surprise that the Spider Goddess, who urgently needed to hide and recover, chose the Blood Abyss as her refuge.
“But the Blood Abyss is so vast; how do we pinpoint the specific location of the Star Spirit Clock Tower to ambush the Spider Goddess?”
Su Nan responded, "The place where they fought is not far from the Blood River. We just need to search along the Blood River."
Lize nodded in understanding. The battle between Gods and True Spirit Wizards would certainly create a great commotion. As long as they had a general area, it wouldn’t be difficult to locate them.
“I understand. I will take charge of the preparations personally,” Lize stated with a solemn expression. Since it involved dealing with a God, she felt compelled to treat the matter with utmost seriousness and caution.
Su Nan, recognizing the gravity of the situation, also became serious and began preparing to depart for the Blood Abyss to scout the environment beforehand. However, before setting off, he knew he needed to make some preparations.
Since mastering the Law of Gravity, it had undoubtedly become his most formidable combat method. However, considering that his own level of application and control over Law Power was far inferior to that of Gods and True Spirit Wizards, Su Nan felt it was crucial to prepare some trump cards to compensate for the gap in combat power.
Before mastering the Law of Gravity, Su Nan’s trump cards were limited to a few: his Innate Ability, Alchemy Imprint, Wizard Tool, and Inscribed Gem.
As he broke through to Level 3 Crystallization, the power of his three Innate Abilities all increased.
In particular, the might of the Absolute Forbidden Zone made significant strides due to his mastery of the Gravity Law.
However, these three Innate Abilities were only effective against ordinary Level 3 Wizards. They were somewhat lacking when facing a God; even with the amplification from the Alchemy Imprint, which boosted their power several times, their threat to a God was akin to that of a normal Gravity Wave.
This highlighted the stark difference between Law Power and ordinary techniques.
Of course, this didn’t mean the Innate Abilities were useless.
As long as the mastered Law was integrated into the Innate Abilities, refining and strengthening them, a higher-level Law Talent could be created. Even at the True Spirit Wizard level, Law Talent would still be a very powerful means of combat.
This process would also help Wizards to understand the Law more deeply. In fact, many True Spirit Wizard cultivators quickly developed their combat skills regarding Law in this way.
As for Wizard Tools, unless they were weapons of Divine Artifact level, any other weapons were negligible in battles at the God or True Spirit Wizard level.
Inscribed Gems faced a similar predicament.
The principle behind Inscribed Gems was to compress vast amounts of Elemental Energy into a gemstone, then activate and release it all at once during battle, resulting in explosive and immense damage.
However, Law Power was a higher-order energy than Elemental Energy. Even if Su Nan synthesized Inscribed Gems to their absolute limit, their power would still be far inferior to a mere wisp of Law Power.
If Inscribed Gems had any utility, it would be as a last resort when his Spiritual Power was exhausted and he could no longer control Law Power.
Of course, if it came to such a desperate situation, the remaining Spiritual Power likely wouldn’t be sufficient to activate multiple Inscribed Gems, and their impact on the battle would probably be minimal.
"The difference in energy levels is clear; without changing that, the effectiveness of Inscribed Gems is very limited."
Compared to Innate Abilities, the enhancement of Inscribed Gems was relatively straightforward. It simply required replacing Elemental Energy with Law Power.
For other Wizards, this might be a difficult feat to achieve. After all, integrating sufficient Law Power into a small gemstone and creating a stable Law Gem was undoubtedly a challenging task.
The fusion of Law Power and Gemstone, the stability achieved after fusion, and the ability to inflict sufficient damage after activation—every single aspect required countless studies and experiments.
Even a True Spirit Wizard might not be able to decipher it.
But for Su Nan, who possessed the Synthesis Cube, the process was much simpler.
If fusing one whole unit of Law Power with Gemstone proved too challenging, he could simply reduce the amount of Law Power.
The difficulty of fusing one percent of a unit of Law Power with Gemstone would be decreased by at least ninety percent.
It was akin to synthesizing an Inscribed Gem: first, create a weakened version of the Law Gem, then proceed with the synthesis.
With a clear plan in mind, Su Nan set to work.
Drawing from his experience with Inscribed Gems, he developed the finished product in less than ten days.
In the realm of Lightning Element.
Amid the shimmering clouds of lightning, Su Nan floated in mid-air, flicking his finger to send a black and blue gemstone hurtling like an arrow toward the Lightning Element Giant Elder, a hundred meters away.
This giant spirit elder, made entirely of dazzling lightning, had a humanoid upper body and a misty lower body. It exuded a violent aura and was surrounded by dense, snake-like arcs of electricity.
The instant the gemstone touched the lightning on its surface, it shattered under the violent electrical glow.
In the next moment, a deep, abyss-like fluctuation erupted!
A pure black light, reaching its absolute limit, materialized out of thin air, unleashing a terrifying suction force that instantly engulfed the giant spirit elder!
The giant spirit elder, whose power level reached Level 3 Crystallization, was helpless against this suction force. After only a few breaths of resistance, it was dragged toward the black light with a cry of terror and despair.
The moment it touched the black light, its enormous body was twisted and swallowed into it!
Poof!
After a soft sound, the black light vanished.
Along with it disappeared the Elemental Giant Elder.
"Not bad!"
A joyful smile spread across Su Nan's face.
The power of the Law Gem was even greater than he had anticipated.
"That bit of black light just now resembled a miniature Gravity Black Hole; even a True Spirit Wizard would have to take it seriously.
If a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard who had mastered the Law was struck by it, they would suffer significant damage.
And if it were a Level 3 Wizard who had not yet mastered the Law, they would die instantly!
"This is merely the version I can control steadily, ensuring that it won't harm me after activation."
"If I use a Golem Puppet as a carrier and attack the enemy in a self-destructing manner, I can continue to synthesize an even more powerful Law Gem."
A flash of brilliance sparkled in Su Nan's eyes as he decided to manufacture both versions of the Law Gem.
"Now that the Law Gem is taken care of, the next step is to focus on Law Talent."
Considering that he would soon be heading to the Blood Abyss, Su Nan chose not to spend the remaining time in the Lightning Elemental Plane comprehending Thunder Law. Instead, he aimed to quickly enhance a suitable Law Talent.
After all, comprehending Thunder Law in such a short time was nearly impossible.
In comparison, developing a new Law Talent would immediately bolster his combat power.
In this regard, Su Nan already had some ideas.
Improving the Absolute Forbidden Zone was relatively straightforward.
He could directly integrate Gravity Law to greatly enhance the Heavy Pressure of the Force Field.
Next was Liquid Metal.
Su Nan planned to incorporate Gravity Law into Liquid Metal, transforming it into a solidified Gravity Wave weapon.
The Gravity Wave was originally formless, but if Liquid Metal served as a carrier, it could take on a solid form. Though this would make the Gravity Wave visible, its power would be significantly amplified when combined with Liquid Metal.
Moreover, with Liquid Metal as a carrier, it could adopt a more versatile form and be more flexible in attacks.
In light of these advantages, the intangible nature of the Gravity Wave was inconsequential.
After all, enemies at the level of God and True Spirit Wizards did not rely on sight to perceive their opponents' attacks but rather on their spirit and intuition.
The so-called formless nature was no different from being clearly visible to these beings.
Lastly, Falling Star Rain had relatively low compatibility with Gravity Law.
He could only increase the acceleration of the falling stars' gravity and enhance the power of the descent."
Su Nan's eyes lit up with excitement.
If this could truly be accomplished, the power of Falling Star Rain would be terrifying!
After all, we are talking about thousands of stars!
That is equivalent to thousands of gravity black holes!
Even someone as powerful as a deity would be reduced to dust in the face of so many gravity black holes!
However, Su Nan quickly calmed himself.
At present, he could barely execute a true gravity black hole, let alone a large-scale one.
This idea is worth exploring, but it will have to wait until he advances to True Spirit Wizard and gains a deeper understanding and control over the laws of gravity before it can be realized. For now, he still needs to refine a new Law Talent.
