Chapter 291: Your Eye for Talent is Still as Good as Ever
"Where is the main force of the Dragonkin army now?" Su Nan asked.
"At Black Stone Canyon, a little over thirty kilometers away, where over two million troops are stationed," Scepter replied, handing over a report.
Su Nan took it and reviewed the document, which detailed the battles between the Star Alliance army and the West Ge Plane over the years.
In addition to the Dragonkin Empire, Black Suo Tower had twelve Wizard Towers, thirty Black Sota Dreadnoughts, and over half a million Golem Puppets stationed in the West Ge Plane.
Over the past decade of conflict, both the Star Alliance and the West Ge Plane suffered significant losses, primarily in ground troops, while neither side's Wizard Towers sustained any damage.
The most devastating loss occurred recently when the West Ge Plane supported the Ulan Plane. They lost four Wizard Towers and twenty-five Black Sota Dreadnoughts, a severe setback.
With the fall of Ulan Plane, the morale of the West Ge Plane army had plummeted. They were no longer as aggressive as before; their earlier intention of annihilating the Star Alliance had shifted to a gradual withdrawal from the front lines, adopting a defensive posture.
Su Nan could discern West Ge Plane's intentions.
Having witnessed Ulan Plane's fate, West Ge Plane's sole focus now was likely to withstand the Star Alliance's offensive and hold out until the Black Suo Tower headquarters could deploy its main forces for support.
The Star Alliance’s battle strength in the War Creation now completely overwhelmed the West Ge Plane, and their ground forces also held the advantage. The outcome of the war was no longer in doubt; the only question was how long it would take for the Star Alliance to capture the West Ge Plane.
Due to the war, Su Nan's cultivation speed had slowed considerably in recent years. He planned to direct more of his energy towards cultivation moving forward.
Expanding territory and strengthening the Star Alliance's power were undoubtedly important, but his own advancement as a Controller was also crucial.
Whether the Star Alliance could join the ranks of a Second Rate Wizard Force depended not only on its strength but also on his ability to advance to the True Spirit Wizard stage.
Back on the top floor of the Starlight Wizard Tower, Su Nan sat beside the Elemental Furnace.
Inside the massive Elemental Furnace, a deep blue liquid surged silently, emitting a faint, visible blue mist.
These were almost materialized Energy Particles.
The entire hall on the top floor was filled with an extremely high concentration of Energy Particles, making the cultivation efficiency in this environment unmistakably high.
Since the simplified version of the Elemental Furnace was built, Su Nan's cultivation efficiency had significantly increased.
Originally, he had estimated that it would take at least three hundred years of cultivation to break through to Level 3 Crystallization, but now, with the simplified Elemental Furnace, he was confident he could achieve this breakthrough within that time frame.
Calming his wandering thoughts, Su Nan focused his mind and began to cultivate quietly.
Time flew by like an arrow, and the years passed in the blink of an eye.
While Su Nan immersed himself in cultivation, occasionally taking time to synthesize an enhanced version of the Wizard Tower facility, the war in the West Ge Plane was raging on.
Faced with the numerous enhanced Wizard Towers of the Star Alliance, the Black Suo Tower Wizard Towers of the West Ge Plane were completely outmatched.
Even after the Black Suo Tower headquarters sent more than ten Wizard Towers for support, they still steadily retreated against the Star Alliance's overwhelming military strength.
In the year 2283 of the Starlight Calendar, the Star Alliance and the garrison forces of the West Ge Plane engaged in a massive battle at Dragon Tooth Canyon. The total troops deployed by both sides exceeded five million, with more than sixty Wizard Towers involved.
This battle lasted for half a month. Ultimately, after the Wizard Towers of the West Ge Plane garrison were completely defeated, the ground forces fell into disarray.
According to post-battle statistics, the West Ge Plane garrison lost a total of twelve Wizard Towers, and all its tribes fell into the hands of the Star Alliance.
The losses in Golem Puppets exceeded one hundred thousand, and casualties and captives among the Dragonkin army surpassed one million!
Following this battle, the Star Alliance broke through the encirclement of the West Ge Plane garrison and began advancing into the surrounding areas, capturing cities and seizing territory.
Over the next decade, the Star Alliance occupied more than two-thirds of the territory of Three Points in the West Ge Plane.
"However, just when the Star Alliance planned to take advantage of their momentum and conquer the remaining territory, they discovered that the garrison of the West Ge Plane had withdrawn without them noticing.
'What's going on?'
Su Nan, having received the message, arrived at the Council Hall and immediately questioned Lize.
Lize replied with a puzzled expression, 'According to the investigation, West Ge Plane's Wizard and War Creation, along with their Golem Legion, have all disappeared. Also missing are the Dragonkin Empire's Royal Family and Nobility, including the Dragonkin army and their families.'
Su Nan's eyebrows twitched as he said, 'So, that means the West Ge Plane is now left only with the old, weak, and disabled?'
'That's right,' Lize confirmed with a nod.
'What is Black Suo Tower plotting?' Su Nan wondered aloud.
Could it be that, realizing they could not win, they decided to abandon the West Ge Plane altogether?
Suddenly, Su Nan's heart stirred. 'Contact Fakado and instruct him to watch for any Dragonkin troops that may have appeared near the Man Luo Plane recently.'
Lize was taken aback for a moment, but quickly understood and turned to give the orders.
Three days later, Fakado sent a message confirming that a large-scale Dragonkin army had been discovered on the Manro and Plane Battlefield.
'As expected, Black Suo Tower plans to concentrate their forces at the Man Luo Plane and confront us there.'
Lize grasped Black Suo Tower's strategy.
After all, it was undeniable that the Star Alliance would conquer the West Ge Plane. Rather than continuing to resist stubbornly, it was wiser to preserve their remaining forces, transfer them to the Man Luo Plane, and bolster its defenses.
'Black Suo Tower is indeed decisive and straightforward,' Su Nan said with a wry smile. 'Since they have willingly relinquished the West Ge Plane, we need not be polite. Send all available troops and conquer the remaining towns as soon as possible.'
Lize nodded and then asked, 'What about the Man Luo Plane? The enemy's forces have suddenly increased significantly. Should we draw some troops to support Fakado?'
'Send in some more troops,' Su Nan readily agreed, then inquired about another matter, 'How are the battles on the other Wizard Faction fronts progressing?'
Lize spread his hands, 'They are all stalemated, with continuous back-and-forth engagements.'"
"Deep Blue Alliance has driven Savage Spirit's army out of the Sky Sea Plane Cluster and even launched a counterattack into Savage Spirit's territory, capturing two planes and gaining a slight advantage."
"The Star Spirit Clock Tower and Bloodline Jungle are evenly matched. Neither side intends to expand the battlefield, focusing their efforts on the Wind Spring Plane, where they are pouring in massive amounts of troops and War Creation. It has become a meat grinder of a hellscape. By the time the war concludes, I fear Wind Spring Plane will be almost entirely destroyed."
"The conflict among the Star Alliance, Thousand-Headed Bird, and Black Suo Tower has scattered their forces across twenty-two planes, all of which are ablaze with intensity, impacting countless others."
"However, both the Star Spirit Clock Tower and Bloodline Jungle possess military strength that individually exceeds the combined might of the Star Alliance, Thousand-Headed Bird, and Black Suo Tower."
"It’s easy to envision the catastrophic destruction that would result from a clash between such colossal forces within a single plane."
"Even if Wind Spring Plane is fortunate enough to survive and not be completely obliterated, it will likely take thousands of years to recover after the war."
"What about the Gloomy Throne and Wisdom Codex?" Su Nan asked.
Lize replied, "The Gloomy Throne repelled the Wisdom Codex’s army and then counterattacked into the Holy Tree Plane Cluster. Wisdom Codex is now at a disadvantage, having already lost five planes to the Gloomy Throne."
"This situation stands in stark contrast to the battle between the Deep Blue Alliance and Savage Spirit."
Su Nan wasn't surprised. The fact that the Wisdom Codex could be mentioned alongside the Gloomy Throne, Deep Blue Alliance, and other Wizard factions is due to its ability to gather and ally itself with multiple subordinate organizations using resources as a central hub.
Its intrinsic war potential is inferior to that of the other large Wizard factions.
Now that the Wisdom Codex's many subordinate organizations are engaged with threats like the Black Suo Tower, Pale Mask, and Flame Pattern Society's Black Wizard forces, it’s no wonder they find themselves at a disadvantage when facing the Gloomy Throne alone.
However, the Wisdom Codex is a large and powerful organization, so there’s no need to worry about its defeat.
In Su Nan's memory, after the Wizard Civil War ended, several large Wizard factions remained intact, with only a few suffering significant losses.
The battles among the various subsidiary organizations and the Black Wizard Forces had reached a stalemate, and it was estimated that a victor would be hard to determine in the short term.
Su Nan nodded knowingly.
The factions involved in this Wizard Civil War were all well-established, possessing vast resources that could be continuously converted into military power and deployed in the war.
Even if they were temporarily at a disadvantage, complete defeat was unlikely.
This was also why the Wizard Civil War had persisted for more than five hundred years.
It wasn't until later, when the prolonged high-intensity warfare drained the reserves of some factions, that the situation took a drastic turn for the worse, leading many Wizard factions to reassess their positions.
In this context, it was particularly striking how the Star Alliance, a third-rate Wizard faction, managed to seize two planes from the grasp of Black Suo Tower.
In the year 2296 of the Starlight Calendar, the Star Alliance conquered the last town on the West Ge Plane, bringing this plane entirely under its control.
As before, the Star Alliance did not immediately shift its war efforts to the Man Luo Plane. Instead, they focused on consolidating their gains on the West Ge Plane and digesting the spoils of war.
After successfully occupying two planes, the Star Alliance had reaped rich rewards yet felt somewhat weary. They used this opportunity to rest and recuperate, intending to advance toward the Man Luo Plane only after fully assimilating their gains.
Under Su Nan's command, the entire logistics system operated at full capacity, feverishly producing puppets, magic-pattern constructs, magic ships, and star fortresses. With a sufficient supply of resources, the war machine known as the Star Alliance grew stronger by the second.
Amidst the woodlands surrounded by towering trees, the surroundings felt vast and boundless.
Dozens of meters above the tree tops, mist and clouds swirled, with lightning flashing and thunder rumbling within the fog, like a dragon soaring through the sky.
In the void, points of light occasionally appeared, drifting slowly with the breeze.
Those were highly concentrated aggregations of energy particles, formed through crystallization.
Maiisha hovered in the air above the trees, gazing at the distant flashes of lightning.
Behind her, a Wizard was respectfully recounting the recent developments in the war.
"The Star Alliance has captured West Ge Plane and is currently resting to recuperate its military strength. It's estimated that they won't wait long before advancing on Man Luo Plane!"
"The difference in strength between the two sides is obvious. Unless Black Suo Tower's headquarters dispatches reinforcements, it's only a matter of time before the Star Alliance captures Man Luo Plane!"
After listening to the Wizard's report, before Maiisha could speak, Oliver, who was standing nearby, said with a hint of emotion, "I didn't expect the Star Alliance to be the one to break the deadlock first. I thought Thousand Headed Bird would perform better."
He turned his head to look at Maiisha and chuckled, "Your judgment is as sharp as ever. This subsidiary organization known as the Star Alliance has shown remarkable promise these past few years."
Maiisha smiled faintly and replied, "Developing from the Starlight Continent, which had been under blockade for two thousand years, is no simple feat. I was simply fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to recruit them."
Ronning, who was standing beside them, regarded Maiisha with a deep look and smiled in silence.
Back in Earth Crystal Plane, when he personally witnessed the Star Alliance rout Black Suo Tower's army and saw Su Nan instantly obliterate hundreds of Wizards with a single strike, he already understood that Su Nan and the Star Alliance were no ordinary forces.
He just never imagined that the Star Alliance would take the lead in capturing both West Ge Plane and Ulan Plane.
Black Suo Tower didn’t suffer a loss at the hands of Thousand Headed Bird; instead, they were dealt a significant blow by a third-rate Wizard faction. This was truly unexpected.
Recommending a subsidiary organization with such great potential was, in itself, a contribution to True Spirit Wizards.
Once this news reached the Wisdom Society, it was easy to imagine how the several Great Scholars would further elevate their evaluation of Maiisha.
Thinking this, Ronning couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
Why hadn't he encountered such good fortune and come across an emerging Wizard faction with the potential of the Star Alliance?
Oliver chuckled, "In this Wizard Civil War, perhaps it will be the Star Alliance, Thousand Headed Bird, and Black Suo Tower that will first determine the outcome."
"Perhaps," Maiisha casually responded, her eyes flickering slightly.
She was already aware of the key battle in which the Star Alliance captured Ulan Plane.
She was astonished by the formidable firepower displayed by the Starlight Wizard Tower, but also somewhat enlightened.
It seemed that Su Nan had clearly utilized the experimental notes she had provided him to develop an energy supply device that was more advanced than the Elemental Pool, which laid the foundation for a significant enhancement in the long-range firepower of the Wizard Tower.
"Su Nan, that guy, he always brings surprises."
Maiisha sighed inwardly.
She had a premonition that the future development of Su Nan and the Star Alliance might far exceed her expectations.
Whoosh!
A thunderous whistle suddenly rang out from the distance, interrupting Maiisha's thoughts.
She gazed intently into the distance, where a hazy, seven-colored light soared into the sky, weaving and outlining a huge doorway-like shape in the void, from which intense spatial fluctuations emanated.
Upon seeing this, a sneer surfaced on Ronning's face.
"Those three still haven't given up; they’re still thinking about leaving the Realm of Truth!"
Oliver chuckled, "With the Black Suo Tower losing two planes at once, they’re probably getting anxious."
"Then we definitely can't let them leave," Ronning said expressionlessly.
The current situation was more advantageous for them; they absolutely couldn't allow the three True Spirit Wizards from Black Suo Tower to return and interfere with the war.
Before the Wizard Civil War ended, these three had to be kept here under control.
"Let’s move; we can’t let the space channel take shape."
Maiisha was the first to transform into a streak of light and rush forward.
Ronning and Oliver, slightly slower, also shot out like comets.
The three streaks of light arrived at the location of the seven-colored light in an instant.
The next moment, a powerful energy fluctuation suddenly swept across the surrounding area!
A battle between True Spirit Wizards had just erupted!
