Chapter 271: Divine Corpse

Under the cover of night, the dense forest cast eerie, shifting shadows.

Tall trees stretched long, dark silhouettes across the ground, their forms interweaving and twisting like the claws of menacing demons, sending shivers down one's spine.

Bo Ben was well accustomed to this scenery, having flown straight out of Floating City without pause.

Before long, a large wizard tower came into view.

The tower stood over five hundred meters tall, its entire structure a ghastly pale color, resembling a skeleton, and emitting a chilling, faint glow under the moonlight.

That was his Pale Bone Wizard Tower.

As soon as he returned inside the tower, a subordinate approached to report.

"Lord Bo Ben, Lord Matic is waiting for you in the Reception Hall."

Bo Ben nodded expressionlessly, dismissing the subordinate, and then teleported to the Reception Hall. Upon entering, he saw Matic comfortably seated on a sofa, a glass of blood-red liquid in his hand, leisurely sipping it.

At his feet lay a woman, pale-skinned and devoid of life, already lifeless.

Bo Ben frowned slightly. "If you want to drink blood, find it outside. Don't prey on the servants in my tower."

Matic chuckled, replying, "Don't be so stingy. You know how sought after the Velo Clan members are. I was just a little late, and all the newly arrived Velo Clan were snatched up. I had to come here to whet my appetite. But, speaking of which, the Velo Clan here seem to have more delicious blood than anywhere else."

Bo Ben didn’t actually care about the life of a lowly servant. He snorted and chose not to press the matter further. He walked over and sat down across from Matic, regarding him with an impassive expression.

"What do you want?"

"I heard Lord Wood summoned you?"

"That's right."

"Was it regarding the matter of Youxi?"

The news of Youxi's death had caused quite a stir within Gloomy Throne. After all, no one had expected Youxi to fail.

Before that, everyone had thought that conquering a plane that had been sealed for two thousand years would be a simple task.

Matic had even envied Youxi's luck at the time.

Who would have thought it would end like this?

Bo Ben scoffed coldly, “A piece of trash who can’t even handle a small matter—what’s there to care about?”

“Are we really going to ignore the Star Alliance?”

“The Star Alliance is now an affiliated organization of the Wisdom Codex. Unless you’re prepared to go to war with the Wisdom Codex, there’s no way to act against it anytime soon,” Bo Ben replied coolly.

“It’s just a third-rate Wizard Faction. Let them be arrogant for a while; we’ll find an opportunity to deal with them later. Right now, we have more important matters to discuss,” Matic said, sensing they were about to get to the main point. Spirit perked up and asked, “What is it?”

“Father wants us to enter this plane and retrieve a certain item,” Bo Ben said, waving his hand in the void. A string of Plane Coordinates immediately appeared.

Bo Ben's father was Wood. Upon learning that it was something Lord Wood had ordered, Matic's expression grew even more serious.

“What item?”

Bo Ben paused for a moment before replying, “A Divine Corpse!”

Starlight Wizard Tower, Top Floor.

Su Nan sat cross-legged beside an Elemental Pool, his eyes tightly closed.

After an unknown amount of time, a powerful surge of energy particles suddenly burst from his body, calming down only after a while.

A minute or two later, Su Nan slowly opened his eyes, his face alight with joy.

“Level 3 Liquefaction!”

Since advancing to Level 3 Wizard, it had taken nearly two hundred and seventy years. He had finally broken through to Level 3 Liquefaction.

Overall, his progress aligned pretty well with his original expectations.

“At this rate, I’ll definitely be able to break through to Level 3 Crystallization within five hundred years,” Su Nan nodded to himself.

This speed was already impressive.

Ordinary Wizards could also accelerate their cultivation by absorbing the divine energy within Elemental Crystal Cores, but how could they replicate his convenient conditions?

If he had to rely solely on himself, hunting down an Elemental Giant would consume a great deal of time.

Only Wizards with backgrounds and support—like True Spirit Descendants—could achieve such conditions.

“It’s a shame that the daily absorption of divine energy is already saturated. Otherwise, the rate at which the Spirit's density increases would be even faster.”

It was precisely because of this that Su Nan listed the surplus Elemental Crystal Cores for exchange with other wizards through the Star Alliance.

Now, leveraging the trade channels of the Wisdom Codex and the City of All Things, the Star Alliance could acquire a substantial quantity of Elemental Crystal Dust.

One could say that if Su Nan were not so stretched thin and had more time, he could have fully synthesized enough Elemental Crystal Cores for the entire Star Alliance to use freely.

If that had truly been the case, then in just one or two thousand years, the Star Alliance would be capable of cultivating a significant number of Level 3 Wizards.

Of course, this was merely a thought.

Su Nan did not have that much time. Besides his cultivation, upgrading his Wizard Tower also consumed a considerable amount of his energy and resources.

Fortunately, the Starlight Wizard Tower had already been upgraded.

【Wizard Tower: Starlight】

【Level: Large】

【Current Remaining Energy: 93.22%】

【Energy Storage Capacity: 50%/50%】

【Intelligent Auxiliary Life: Tower Spirit 1 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 2 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 3 (Enhanced)】

【Facilities: Elemental Pool (Super Large/Enhanced), Levitation Ring, Central Crystal Energy Transmission System, Living Area, Warehouse Area, Laboratory Area, Training Area, Meditation Area, Planting Area】

【Servants: Clay Golem × 1000, Water Sprite × 850, Fairy × 1046】

【Defensive Devices: Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field (Super Large/Enhanced)】

【Combat Devices: Spell Turret Type III × 300, Disintegration Cannon Type III × 30, Plasma Cannon Type II × 10, Pulse Cannon Type II × 1, Golem Legion (Mithril Golem × 10,000, Tentacle Puppet × 300, Secret Puppet × 50, Shadow Steel Golem × 30, Vajra Golem × 20, Supreme Golem × 5)】

In upgrading the Starlight Wizard Tower, Su Nan's total investment in resources had already exceeded one million Superior Magic Stones.

If the timeline hadn’t been stretched to over two hundred years, even though the cost of synthesizing Magic Stones for the Star Alliance was low, such expenditures would have been enough to destabilize the Alliance’s finances.

It was easy to imagine just how astounding the cost would be to construct a Large Wizard Tower from scratch. Of that cost, the upgrades and modifications to the Plasma Cannon and Pulse Cannon accounted for a considerable portion. However, the results were quite gratifying.

Su Nan had conducted some tests, and the power of the Type II Plasma Cannon was sufficient to easily eradicate an ordinary Tier 3 Vaporization Wizard. The power of the Type II Pulse Cannon was even more formidable, capable of reducing a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard to ashes with a single shot.

Generally speaking, faced with the firepower of a Large Wizard Tower, even something as strong as a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard could only flee in disarray. After enhancement, the firepower of the Starlight Wizard Tower far surpassed that of a regular Large Wizard Tower, allowing it to effortlessly deal with any Wizard below the True Spirit level, preventing them from even having a chance to escape. However, normally, no Level 3 Wizard would be foolish enough to confront a Large Wizard Tower alone. Level 3 Wizards all possessed their own Wizard Towers; it was simply a matter of varying levels.

"However, after the firepower enhancement, the burden on the Wizard Tower's energy has increased considerably." During the process of upgrading the Wizard Tower, Su Nan had strengthened the Elemental Pool and Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field as always, but due to the limitations of the Wizard Tower's main body, the extent of the strengthening wasn't significant.

He had already begun contemplating whether to acquire an Element Source Crystal and then create a crude version of an Elemental Furnace. As an energy supply device for Floating City, the Elemental Furnace could provide far more energy than the Elemental Pool; the two were simply not on the same level.

Even a crude version of the Elemental Furnace could supply significantly more energy than the Elemental Pool and should be able to completely resolve the energy issues of the Starlight Wizard Tower. The only problem was that Element Source Crystals were not easy to come by. These items only "dropped" from Elemental Giant Elders.

After an Elemental Giant Elder's death, their bodies had a certain probability of condensing into essence, which was the Element Source Crystal. The stronger the power level of the Elemental Giant Elder, the greater the likelihood of forming an Element Source Crystal upon death. Even a newly promoted Elemental Giant Elder would possess a strength level equivalent to a Second Stage Crystallization Wizard. In their home territory, the Elemental Plane, even a Tier 3 Vaporization Wizard would not necessarily be their match.

"If it's an Elemental Giant Elder that has advanced for thousands of years, its power can reach the level of Level 3 Liquefaction or even Crystallization.

In the Elemental Plane, it's estimated that only a True Spirit Wizard would be capable of defeating such a being.

The key point is that Elemental Giant Elders generally live deep within Element Space, where numerous Elemental Giants and Spirits of the Elements tend to gather around them. To defeat them, one must first deal with all their 'lackeys.'

In a different Plane, Su Nan could simply pilot a Starlight Wizard Tower and destroy them directly.

However, Element Space is different.

The energy activity there is already extremely high, approaching violence. If such a massive source of energy were to enter, it would inevitably trigger an energy explosion, resulting in rejection from the entirety of Element Space.

Take the Lightning Element Space, for example. If a Wizard Tower were to enter, it would undoubtedly be bombarded continuously by countless lightning attacks. It probably wouldn't even make it to the depths of Element Space before being drained of energy by the relentless storms, leading to its destruction.

The situation with War Creation is similar, although the rejection would be less severe. However, its own strength is not high, so the outcome would remain the same.

This is precisely why the Element Source Crystal is so precious and rare.

"It's a shame that the Element Source Crystal isn't on the resources list that the Wisdom Codex provides to its affiliated organizations. Otherwise, it would be easier to purchase one with Magic Stones."

Shaking his head, Su Nan collected his thoughts and reviewed the control logs of the Wizard Tower. He discovered that Lize had left a message five days ago, stating that Tanna was requesting to see him.

"Tanna, huh?"

Su Nan's eyes flickered.

Ever since that trip to the City of All Things, Tanna's eagerness toward him had noticeably increased.

They no longer concealed their identity, taking the initiative to represent the All Things Assembly and establishing trade relations with the Star Alliance. They even offered information from time to time at no cost, clearly demonstrating the goodwill of the All Things Assembly.

Su Nan naturally accepted this goodwill wholeheartedly.

Establishing a relationship with the All Things Assembly would also be beneficial for the development of the Star Alliance.

More importantly, the All Things Assembly is a neutral power, skilled at navigating various interests, and focused on protecting its own territory, so there was little need to worry about them plotting anything.

Leaving the top floor, Su Nan then sought out Lize."

It's worth mentioning that Lize successfully constructed her third Talent Crystal twenty years ago, becoming the second Level 3 Wizard after Su Nan, following the Star Alliance.

Unlike the Ghost of the past, the current Lize must dedicate most of her time to cultivation and has little energy left for administrative matters. Her capable assistant, Artier, also needs to focus primarily on his own cultivation.

As a result, after Reshaping her Body, Lize has been consistently nurturing assistants to handle various trivial tasks. Now, she only needs to manage major issues, leaving the rest to her many assistants.

“Where is Tanna?” Lize asked.

“He's in Youhu City,” she replied. “I told him you were in seclusion and that your exact return time was unknown, so he should go back. But he insisted on waiting for you here.”

Su Nan raised an eyebrow. “Did he say what he wanted to see me about?”

Lize shook her head. “He wants to tell you in person.”

Upon hearing this, Su Nan nodded and made no further comments as he headed straight to Youhu City with Lize.

Soon, the two met Tanna.

“Greetings, Master Su Nan,” Tanna said with a smile. “Now that you've emerged from seclusion, I assume you've made another breakthrough.”

Su Nan, not one to hide the truth, nodded. “Indeed, I have made a breakthrough.”

Though he had anticipated it, hearing Su Nan admit it made Tanna marvel internally. This pace of improvement was on par with that of True Spirit Descendants and might even be faster.

“I have some information I’d like to offer as a small gift to celebrate your breakthrough,” Tanna continued.

Su Nan smiled slightly. “I am all ears.”

Tanna then said seriously, “Master Su Nan, you should be aware of the Realm of Truth, right?”

Su Nan nodded calmly.

The Realm of Truth, also known as the Law Plains, is a sacred place for Wizards to comprehend the Law. Most True Spirit Wizards spend their time there pursuing breakthroughs by understanding the Law. This is why it is rare for a Wizard to be seen in the Multiverse.

Aside from Wizards, another group spends most of their time in the Realm of Truth: the Gods, who also wield Law Power.

To compete for the resources of the Realm of Truth, the Wizards and Gods fought many battles within its depths.

Generally, Gods remained in their Divine Kingdoms, rarely descending into the Material World. Furthermore, a God residing within their Divine Kingdom was incredibly difficult to kill.

As a result, successful god-slaying by the Multiverse was a rare occurrence.

However, the Realm of Truth was an exception to this rule.

Neither the Wizard Towers, Floating Cities, nor Divine Kingdoms could access the Realm of Truth. This significantly lowered the difficulty of killing a God within its borders.

The Realm of Truth could be described as the place in the entire Multiverse where the most Gods had fallen. The research materials regarding Gods, utilized by the Wizards, primarily originated from this realm.

"In fact, just recently, the Deep Blue Alliance, Wisdom Codex, Gloomy Throne, Savage Spirit, and several other major Wizard factions, alongside their True Spirit Wizards, joined forces to ambush a God in the Realm of Truth, ultimately succeeding in killing it,” Tanna stated solemnly.

“However, due to the intense resistance from the opponent before its death, a Spatial Turbulence was triggered, causing the Divine Corpse to be swept away and go missing.”

“It was only recently that we discovered the whereabouts of that Divine Corpse.”

“It has fallen into a separate plane and has infected all the creatures within it, turning them into monsters.”
