Chapter 263: Let's Set a Small Goal First
Maiisha's efficiency exceeded expectations.
On the fifth day after the war ended, Cyril arrived with good news.
"The Wisdom Society has approved Lord Maiisha's proposal. From today onward, the Star Alliance will be one of the affiliated organizations of the Wisdom Codex. Congratulations!"
"Thank you!"
Su Nan shook hands with Cyril, and they exchanged smiles.
Once the congratulations were over, they got down to business.
"Affiliated organizations receive protection from the Wisdom Codex and internal trading rights, but in return, they must also fulfill certain obligations," Cyril explained, handing over several books.
"Star Alliance must deliver a specified amount of resources to the Wisdom Codex each year. The types can be found on this list. You may combine them as desired, as long as their total value reaches five hundred thousand Lower Magic Stones."
Su Nan nodded slightly, flipping through the books. They were similar to what he recalled.
The annual output of a single Medium Sub Magic Stone Mine could easily synthesize five hundred thousand Lower Magic Stones.
With just this cost, they could secure the protection of a Large Wizard Faction and gain internal trading rights, allowing the Star Alliance ample opportunity for development and growth. This was undoubtedly a very worthwhile deal.
"I'll send someone with the resources later," Su Nan said.
Cyril smiled. "Just send it to the Holy Tree Plane. Someone will be there to receive it."
"Oh, and the other magic books contain a list of items for internal trade. Feel free to take a look."
"Since the message has been delivered, I won't stay any longer. Let’s have a drink at the City of All Things when you have time."
"Okay," Su Nan replied with a smile.
The City of All Things was one of the few neutral planes in the Multiverse, strictly allowing only Wizards to enter and prohibiting private fights in public. Even Wizards from Large Factions dared not violate the rules there, making it a popular haven for those who disliked conflict.
Over time, the City of All Things evolved into a prosperous neutral trading platform and a place for Wizards to communicate and relax.
After Cyril left, Su Nan casually handed the books to Lize, who was standing beside him.
He was far more familiar with the tradable items that Wisdom Codex offered to its affiliated organizations than many of Wisdom Codex's own members, so he didn't need to look at the list again.
"Next, we need to expand the Golem Legion and Flying Fleet, as well as repair the Wizard Tower and refine the resources for Wizard Level Puppets, all of which we'll purchase from Wisdom Codex."
"In addition, we also need to acquire the design blueprints for the Plasma Cannon, Pulse Cannon, Shadow Steel Golem, Vajra Golem, and Supreme Golem."
"Let's buy these potion recipes as well."
Su Nan handed the list he had prepared earlier to Lize.
Most of these potions were crafted by Star Alliance using Cube Synthesis, which was significantly more expensive than manual production. Now that they had a channel to obtain the recipes, there was no need to rely on Cube Synthesis anymore. They could assign the task to their subordinates, reducing costs and saving him a lot of time.
Lize quickly scanned the list of resources, mentally calculating the items they needed to purchase. He pursed his lips and said, "Buying all of this will probably cost a lot of Magic Stones. Where are we going to get so many Magic Stones?"
Although the Wolf Tide Plane had a decent amount of Magic Stone mines, they wouldn't be able to exploit them until they controlled the entire plane, and mining would also require time.
"I have a plan for that," Su Nan said with a knowing smile. "First, purchase as many Sub Magic Stones as you can from Wisdom Codex."
Su Nan's strategy involved synthesizing Magic Stones using Sub Magic Stones.
Many of the resources on Wisdom Codex's transaction list could not be purchased with Gold, only with Magic Stones. However, Sub Magic Stones could be bought with Gold.
He could use Gold to purchase Sub Magic Stones, then synthesize them into Magic Stones for the needed resources.
However, utilizing this method, which primarily generated Gold, might impact the economic system of the Starlight Continent. It would be best to limit it to the early stages when their Gold reserves were plentiful.
Later, they could transition to a cycle of synthesizing Magic Stones from Sub Magic Stones, using those to purchase more Sub Magic Stones, and then synthesizing again, profiting from the price difference in the process.
The advantage of this approach was that they could quickly accumulate wealth.
The downside was that Su Nan would need to spend a lot of time synthesizing Magic Stones, turning him into a mere tool.
However, Su Nan didn't care about that. As long as it benefitted the growth and expansion of the Star Alliance, he didn't mind putting in a little extra effort.
Hearing Su Nan's words, Lize was slightly surprised, but after glancing at him, she ultimately chose to remain silent. She had vaguely sensed that Su Nan possessed a method to synthesize Magic Stones using Sub Magestones. Even so, she didn't plan to delve deeper into it; as long as it was beneficial for the Star Alliance, that was all that mattered.
"Also, acquire all the Materials for Body Reshaping as soon as possible. If anything is missing, let me know and I'll find a solution," he continued.
At this mention, Lize's spirit perked up as she nodded enthusiastically. "Okay."
It had been two thousand years since she had become a ghost, and she had always yearned for the day she could undergo Body Reshaping. Now, that time was finally approaching, and even her normally calm demeanor couldn't suppress the surge of excitement.
"Also, gather intelligence on other forces and the Plane Cluster," Su Nan added.
"I understand," Lize replied without hesitation. She was well aware of the importance of intelligence.
The multiverse was vast and boundless; it wasn't just about the Wizard Faction. There were various races and forces with their relationships intertwined and complex enough to make one's head spin. If they didn’t grasp the underlying connections, they could easily end up in conflict with other forces in the future.
Although Lize was familiar with many factions from their time in the Starfall Society, they had been sealed in Starlight Continent for two thousand years. Hence, their intelligence was outdated, and she needed to gather the latest information.
For this, the Traveling Wizards and Tanna who had remained in Starlight Continent, as well as the City of All Things, would undoubtedly serve as excellent sources of intelligence. It just so happened that the founders of the City of All Things were a group of Traveling Wizards, so perhaps they could find the 'Information Merchant' within the City through Tanna.
After entrusting these matters to Lize, Su Nan returned to the top floor of the Wizard Tower. Having successfully affiliated with the Wisdom Codex, he felt a tremendous weight lift from his heart. The preparations that the Star Alliance had painstakingly made over hundreds of years had finally paid off.
However, it wasn't yet time to fully relax. With the significant losses inflicted upon Gloomy Throne, it was clear they wouldn’t let it go so easily.
"Even with the protection of the Wisdom Codex, I cannot be one hundred percent safe.
The best way to ensure my safety is to enhance my own strength.
If the Star Alliance were strong enough to confront the Gloomy Throne—perhaps even to surpass it—then it would be the Gloomy Throne that should be worried.
"Now is not the time to be arrogant or complacent."
"This attack was executed by a King Robe Wizard candidate of the Gloomy Throne; above them are King Robe Wizards, Crown Wizards, and the Three Thrones!"
"Compared to those existences, Youxi is no more than a slightly stronger ant."
That said, Su Nan didn’t worry too much.
A power like the Gloomy Throne would likely focus its energy either within the Realm of Truth or on conquering new Plane Clusters, paying little attention to the Starlight Continent, which remains a small corner of the world.
At least in the short term, there should be no concerns about retaliation from the Gloomy Throne.
"What I need to do next is improve my strength while advancing to True Spirit Wizard as soon as possible, and also expand the strength of the Star Alliance."
These two objectives go hand in hand.
"I recall several major events that occurred in the Multiverse over the last two thousand years; perhaps I can take advantage of those."
Su Nan reflected on the past, recalling three major events that stood out.
The first was the civil war of the Wizarding World.
The orderly faction, led by the Deep Blue Alliance, Wisdom Codex, and Star Spirit Clock Tower, waged a great war against the evil faction led by the Gloomy Throne, Bloodline Jungle, and Savage Spirit.
This immense conflict impacted tens of thousands of Planes!
Even in the long history of the Multiverse, this was a rare, large-scale war!
During this chaos, the gods also took advantage, pouring fuel on the flames and exacerbating the turmoil.
The second major event was related to the gods—a battle where Wizards joined forces to ambush a deity!
The targeted deity was the Spider Goddess, who had met with Su Nan twice.
This ambush was triggered when the Spider Goddess sustained injuries in battle against another god. Somehow, a group of Wizards learned of her weakened state and banded together to attack her, attempting to seize the opportunity to slay a god.
However, the outcome was disastrous for the Wizards, who were completely annihilated."
Afterward, many people speculated that it was a conspiracy orchestrated by the Spider Goddess, as her cunning and malevolence were infamous throughout the Multiverse.
Su Nan believed it was wise to pay attention to this matter; perhaps he could act like a "oriole" waiting in the shadows.
The third concern was the Ancient Insect Race.
The Ancient Insect Race was a xenomorphic insect species from the ancient Insect Plane Cluster, known for its extreme aggression and destructive behavior. They often invaded other planes, bringing death and devastation in their wake.
Previously, this race had primarily wreaked havoc in the remote areas of the Multiverse, preying on isolated planes, which led neither Wizards nor Gods to take them seriously.
However, it wasn't long before the Ancient Insect Race seemed to go insane, launching attacks on numerous planes indiscriminately, even encroaching upon the territories of both Wizards and Gods, which prompted a united counterattack from both factions.
As for the outcome of this conflict, Su Nan had no way of knowing.
Before that, he had transmigrated.
"The Wizard Civil War seems to have occurred around 2600 years ago in the Starlight Calendar, and the ambush by the Spider Goddess happened 3500 years ago in the same calendar. As for the specific details..."
Su Nan shook his head. Back then, he had only heard this matter as an anecdote and hadn’t paid attention to the exact timing. Now, he could only recall a rough estimation.
"Forget it; I’ll just keep a closer eye on it moving forward."
Setting aside the Ancient Insect Race, if the Wizard Civil War and the ambush by the Spider Goddess were utilized properly, the development speed of the Star Alliance could be greatly accelerated.
Especially the former; with a conflict of such magnitude, even if Su Nan wanted to remain uninvolved, it would be impossible, and the Star Alliance would inevitably be drawn into it.
Instead of being caught off guard when that time comes, it would be better to prepare in advance and turn the crisis into an opportunity!
"I'll set a small goal for myself: first lead the Star Alliance to conquer a Plane Cluster and establish it as a major Wizard Faction!"
"This way, even if I leave the Wisdom Codex, I will have the power to contend with the Gloomy Throne on my own!"
Having determined his future objectives, Su Nan felt a bit more at ease and shifted his focus to cultivation.
After advancing to Level 3 Wizard, he immediately absorbed all the divine energy he had accumulated up to that point.
However, the time taken to progress from Second Level Crystallization to Level 3 Wizard was too brief, resulting in only a limited amount of Elemental Crystal Cores accumulated. Thus, after absorption, there was not a significant change in Spiritual Condensation.
Level 3 Wizard's Spiritual Condensation was progressing at a snail's pace. Even with the triple enhancements from the Tier 6 potion, the vast elemental pool, and the stacked Divine energy, the cultivation speed was still far from satisfactory.
After cultivating for over two months, his Spiritual Condensation had only increased by 0.01%.
“Next, I can purchase Elemental Crystal Dust from the Wisdom Codex and maximize my daily absorption of Divine energy. This should significantly boost my cultivation speed.”
Su Nan estimated that if there was enough Divine energy to absorb, he could break through to Level 3 Liquefaction in two to three hundred years.
Following that, if all went smoothly, he should be able to advance to Level 3 Crystallization in four to five hundred years.
Afterward, he could begin to comprehend Law Power.
If everything went well, it was possible he could reach True Spirit Wizard before the incident with the Ambush Spider Goddess occurred.
With the strength of a True Spirit Wizard, intervening in the Godslaying operation would undoubtedly be more assured.
“Also, I need to synthesize and upgrade my Wizard Tool, and continue studying Fifth Circle spells.”
At this stage, the boost from spells to a Wizard's combat power was no longer very significant.
In Level 3 combat, he primarily relied on his Innate Ability and Wizard Tool.
When he reached the True Spirit Wizard level, the impact of spells would become even less noticeable.
The true key to enhancing power was Law Power.
Nevertheless, Su Nan did not intend to abandon his study of spells.
In his view, the greatest utility of spells lay not in boosting combat power, but in their adaptability to certain unique situations.
A truly powerful Wizard must possess comprehensive abilities and have no weaknesses.
Regardless of the situation encountered, there should always be a solution available, rather than merely relying on brute strength and fighting.
Spells could often play unexpected roles in various circumstances.
For instance, when faced with an impenetrable barrier, he could cast Break Barrier.
If he needed to command creatures from another realm, he could use Lesser Planar Binding.
For long-distance teleports across hundreds of kilometers, he would cast the Teleportation Spell.
And to remotely monitor a specific area or target, he could utilize the Scrying Demon Eye.
There was even the Demon Soul Jar, which allowed him to possess another creature!
The functions of spells were strange and varied, with attack and defense being merely the two most common categories. Beyond these, there were many types with unique and specialized effects.
Perhaps one of them would prove useful at a critical moment.
Therefore, Su Nan did not intend to give up on spells.
In any case, learning spells was not difficult for him—far easier and simpler than for other wizards. If he devoted a little time to it each day, the number of spells he mastered would grow considerable over the years.
“Next, I need to make time to go to the Wolf Tide Plane,”
Su Nan exhaled a long breath, sat cross-legged beside the Elemental Pool, and took out the Elemental Crystal Core to begin his cultivation.
