Chapter 254: Maisa Edwards

Fleming and Haylin were taken aback, never having expected that the Magical Pet sought by the person before them would actually be Amy.

After some careful consideration, they recalled hearing that Amy was not the Magical Pet of Master Sunan but had indeed originated from the prosperous Wizard Era two thousand years ago.

Thus, it seemed likely that the true master of Amy stood right in front of them!

Snapping back to reality, Fleming said with a peculiar expression, "Our Star Alliance does indeed have an exotic beast known as Amy, and it has lived for at least two thousand years. If nothing has changed, it should be the Magical Pet you're looking for. Rest assured, it's doing very well."

A trace of relief flashed across the woman's face upon hearing this.

"I'm glad to know it's alright."

"Can you take me to see it?" she asked eagerly.

Fleming hesitated for a moment, exchanging glances with Haylin before replying, "I'm sorry, but I lack the authority to make that decision. I will need to report this to the higher-ups."

A hint of surprise flickered in the woman's eyes.

These two formal wizards were not even high-ranking officials. It seemed that this Wizard Organization, the Star Alliance, was quite powerful indeed.

"I understand. Please do so," she responded.

Fleming pulled out a Star Book and began to report to the higher authorities.

As she observed the Star Book, an unusual expression crossed the woman's face.

Was this a long-distance projection communication device? It must be part of the pervasive detection network she had sensed after entering the Starlight Continent.

It appeared that the Star Alliance had gained complete control over the entire Starlight Continent.

It was truly fascinating that such a powerful Wizard Organization could rise from the Plane of Elemental Desert. What exactly had transpired in this Plane over the past two thousand years?

Starlight Wizard Tower, Laboratory

Controlling the Mage Hand, Su Nan carved the final stroke of the intricate pattern. A faint light spread along the lines, flowing through the entire floor, walls, and ceiling of the laboratory. The room itself underwent a remarkable transformation.

"Done!"

Su Nan exhaled deeply, a smile lighting up his face.

With this, the segment of the plan concerning space was complete.

"The Central Crystal Energy Transmission System and Elemental Pool have also been upgraded. All that remains is the Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field and the Puppet Legion."

"Plan: 1. Scan the Wizard Tower's status."

[Instruction received, initiating scan... Scan complete.] "Wizrd Tower: Starlight" [Level: Medium (Upgrade progress: 93.16%)] [Current remaining Energy: 82.19%] [Energy Storage Capacity: 50%] [Intelligent Assistance: Tower Spirit 1 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 2 (Enhanced), Tower Spirit 3] [Facilities: Elemental Pool (Ultra Large/Enhanced), Levitation Ring, Central Crystal Energy Transmission System, Living Area, Warehouse Area, Laboratory Area, Training Area, Meditation Area, Planting Area.] [Servants: Clay Golem x 300, Water Sprite x 482, Fairy x 502] [Defense System: Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field (Large/Enhanced)] [Battle System: Spell Turret Type II x 300, Disintegration Cannon Type II, Golem Legion (Mithril Golem x 5000, Tentacle Puppet x 63, Secret Puppet x 31)]

Over the past ten years, Su Nan had continuously synthesized the Elemental Pool, ultimately upgrading it from Large to Ultra Large. The Ultra Large Elemental Pool not only significantly increased energy capacity and recovery speed but also gained the ability to store energy. In simpler terms, this meant it could hold energy for later use. On normal days, a portion of energy could be stored and then utilized to replenish the Elemental Pool's energy consumption during battles. Su Nan had conducted tests revealing that at 150% energy capacity, three hundred Spell Turret Type II units could fire in a concentrated assault for sixteen rounds! The surplus of energy was far greater than before. Thus, the problem of energy consumption from long-range bombardment was effectively resolved.

Additionally, Su Nan had leveraged the knowledge from Gloomy Throne's Tower Spirit manufacturing to enhance Tower Spirit 1 and Tower Spirit 2, improving their processing power and data analysis capabilities. Next, he intended to modify Tower Spirit 3 as well. It’s worth noting that after the Wizard Tower's level increased to Medium, the 'Enhanced' suffix on the Levitation Ring disappeared.

“It’s been clarified that the current functional strength of the Levitation Ring perfectly aligns with the standards of the Medium level; it hasn’t exceeded them. Unless combined and upgraded further, the 'Enhanced' suffix won’t reappear.

“If the Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field merges with three more of the Small level, it should be able to upgrade beyond the Large level.”

“The Wizard Level Puppet is six away from reaching the goal of one hundred.”

Su Nan nodded with satisfaction. Indeed, it was all thanks to the Gloomy Throne. They unexpectedly "sent" another Small Wizard Tower, which significantly alleviated his resource pressures. Without that support, the upgrade and modifications of the Starlight Wizard Tower would not have progressed so smoothly. However, such good fortune was unlikely to occur in the future.

If Gloomy Throne isn’t foolish, they should realize that the difficulty of conquering the Starlight Continent has far exceeded their original estimates. Unless the plane blockade is lifted and more powerful legions are dispatched, these small skirmishes will be futile and will only result in sending resources to the enemy. It’s likely that Gloomy Throne won’t send any more Wizard Towers.

Waving away the 3D holographic model, Su Nan sat down cross-legged. Just as he was preparing to replenish his Talent Crystal Model, he suddenly received a transmission from Lize. Seeing this, he had no choice but to get up and teleport to the study.

As soon as they met, Lize said, “Gloomy Throne has sent people to invade the Starlight Continent again.”

“What’s their lineup?”

“Twelve Level One Wizards.”

Su Nan raised an eyebrow in surprise but quickly realized, “Their goal is to relay information about the Starlight Continent back?”

“That’s right,” Lize nodded. “They are all Wizards skilled in stealth. Until they took action, Star Eye couldn’t detect their presence. By the time we discovered them, they had already transmitted the information.”

Su Nan narrowed his eyes but quickly waved his hand. “Never mind; it doesn’t matter at this point.”

After all, Star Eye's sensory abilities are not omnipotent. It’s understandable to feel helpless against Wizards skilled in stealth Energy Particle Fluctuation. Besides, the Dimensional Barrier will be completely repaired in at most a year. By that time, the Star Alliance will be fully exposed to many Wizard factions. Leaking information a little earlier won’t impact the bigger picture.

“There’s one more thing,” Lize said, suddenly wearing a strange expression. “The owner of Amy has come looking for us.”

Su Nan paused for a moment, processing the information before finally responding, "The master of Amy?"

"Fleming and Haylin encountered a woman who seems to have come from outside the Plane. She claims to be searching for her lost magical pet, and the description and name of that magical pet perfectly match Amy."

Lize recounted the events.

Upon hearing this, Su Nan was taken aback.

Since the woman had mentioned Amy's name and referenced the golden bell, she was highly likely to be Amy's master. However, Su Nan didn't expect that before the Gloomy Throne invaded the Starlight Continent, Amy's master had already arrived.

How could she have even entered the Starlight Continent?

Su Nan frowned in confusion. After a moment's thought, he realized that the woman must have left an anchor point on Amy.

"Where is she now?"

"Near Flash City. Fleming and Haylin are monitoring her. They wouldn't dare bring her into Long Lin without your permission."

Su Nan pondered, lost in thought. Based on Amy's description, her master was a True Spirit Descendant. At this point, she had likely been promoted to True Spirit Wizard or, at the very least, a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard.

With her power, destroying the Star Alliance would not be difficult. Though Su Nan could contend with opponents above his level, he wasn't arrogant enough to think he could defeat a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard. Especially since the other party was a True Spirit Descendant, she likely possessed several trump cards and methods that matched or surpassed his own.

The reason she was willing to wait patiently for Fleming and Haylin to report instead of forcefully breaking into Long Lin was probably because the Star Alliance had taken in Amy.

Even so, Su Nan did not plan to allow her into Long Lin. One couldn’t be too careful. However, it was necessary to meet her in person.

A faint glow flickered in Su Nan's eyes as he connected to the Star Eye Network. He quickly located Amy, and with a flash, he disappeared from the spot, reappearing right next to her.

The little one was basking in the sun on Hidden Dragon's back. Startled by the sudden appearance, it jumped, but when it recognized who it was, it happily meowed, "Meow, Su Nan, why are you here?"

Su Nan smiled slightly, "I've got some good news for you."

"What good news, meow?"

"Your master has arrived."

Amy was stunned for a moment before realizing what Su Nan meant, and her eyes widened in delight.

"Master’s here? Really, meow? Master really came looking for Amy, meow?"

The little one was so excited that she almost slid off Hidden Dragon's back.

"I'm pretty sure," Su Nan said, catching Amy. "Whether it's true or not, you will find out as soon as you come with me to take a look."

"Then let's go right now, meow!" Amy exclaimed, hopping onto Su Nan's shoulder.

After two thousand years, she was finally going to see her beloved master. Overcome with emotion, she was at a loss for words.

Seeing this, Su Nan wasted no time and immediately took Amy from the Long Lin teleportation point to Flash City's Teleportation Array, then they flew towards their destination.

Flying at full speed, they arrived in less than two minutes.

Upon seeing Su Nan, Fleming and Haylin immediately bowed in greeting.

"Sunan Master."

Before Su Nan could respond, they heard an excited shout.

"Master!"

Instantly, Amy leaped from Su Nan's shoulder, quickly traversing through space and throwing herself into the woman's arms, hugging her tightly.

"Waaah... Master... Amy missed you so much! You're finally here, meow!"

The woman’s gaze softened. She gently stroked Amy's fur and said softly, "I'm sorry, Amy, for leaving you alone on Starlight Continent for so long, but I’m back now, and I won’t leave you again."

The coolness of her voice seemed to carry a strange power that calmed everyone around. Gradually, Amy settled down. She sniffled and then glanced at Su Nan standing nearby. In a rush, she tugged at the woman's robe and pointed at Su Nan with her paw.

"Master, that’s Su Nan. He’s been taking care of me ever since I woke up. He’s really nice, meow."

The woman looked up at Su Nan and nodded slightly. "Thank you for taking care of Amy."

"You're welcome."

Su Nan subtly examined the woman.

The energy particles surrounding her were extremely faint, reminiscent of a Wizard Apprentice’s. Even if a Level One Wizard were present, they probably wouldn't be able to see through her true strength.

Yet, Su Nan could faintly sense the unfathomable, abyss-like Soul aura emanating from her.

He understood implicitly.

"Master, let me tell you..."

Amy chattered excitedly, recounting Su Nan's deeds to the woman.

Upon learning that Su Nan was a Second Stage Crystallization Wizard and the founder of the Star Alliance, the woman's expression finally shifted, a hint of surprise flickering in her gaze.

She then introduced herself, saying, "I am called Maisa Edwards."

"Su Nan Arnett," he replied, silently thinking, This is an arrogant woman.

Though Maisa appeared gentle and kind, Su Nan could still perceive a subtle air of condescension beneath her demeanor.

This didn't mean Maisa was insincere or putting on an act; rather, it stemmed from her status as a True Spirit Wizard.

A True Spirit Wizard might be polite to ordinary Wizards, but one could hardly expect them to offer genuine respect.

This condescending humility suggested a certain level of cultivation, magnanimity, or politeness, but it certainly did not imply respect.

Su Nan understood this very well and had no complaints.

After all, when faced with those Wizard Apprentices from the Star Alliance, he bore a striking resemblance to Maisa.

It was likely his Second-Level Wizard status and his experience founding the Star Alliance that made Maisa view him differently, even causing her to take the unprecedented step of introducing herself.

"Amy is my most important magical pet."

Maisa stroked Amy's head, eliciting an expression of contentment from the creature.

"There was a time when I faced a crisis. To prevent Amy from being drawn into it, I had her hide and enter a deep sleep, planning to return for her after resolving the situation. But when I managed to escape, the Starlight Continent Plane had already been sealed off. It wasn't until today that I could return to the Starlight Continent."

"Amy is innocent and naive; living alone in the Starlight Continent must have been very difficult for her. Thanks to your care, she was able to live safely."

Maisa looked at Su Nan, her expression sincere as she thanked him once again.

The words had barely left her mouth when Amy eagerly interjected.

"That's great, meow! Master, please help Su Nan deal with those bad guys from the Gloomy Throne!"

"The Gloomy Throne?" A surprised expression flashed across Maiisha's face. She glanced at Su Nan and quickly understood. "Has the Gloomy Throne invaded the Starlight Continent ahead of schedule?"

"That's right," Su Nan admitted without hesitation. "They started their invasion over a decade ago, and we've clashed several times since then."

"Su Nan even destroyed two Wizard Towers of the Gloomy Throne!" Amy added with pride.

Maiisha's gaze toward Su Nan grew even more astonished.

"You actually have your own Wizard Tower?"

"Just a Small Wizard Tower," Su Nan replied calmly.

"That's still very impressive."

Maiisha knew well how difficult it was to build a Wizard Tower, especially on the Starlight Continent of the Elemental Desert.

The young Wizard in front of her was even more remarkable than she had imagined.

Maiisha's knowledge and experience surpassed that of an ordinary Wizard. After a moment of contemplation, she grasped the current predicament of the Star Alliance, and her eyes flickered slightly.

"Perhaps I can help you," she said softly. "I forgot to mention earlier that I come from the Wisdom Codex."
