Chapter 246: Absolutely Impossible to Birth Wizard Faction

【White Bone】 This name sounded ordinary and simple, yet it represented an intermediate-level Innate Ability. It was also one of the renowned Innate Abilities in the Gloomy Throne's Wizarding World.

In Andrew's initial expectations, it was already impressive for these native Wizards to advance to Wizard status. The crystals they would likely create would most probably be elementary-level Inferior Talent Crystals. After all, the concentration of Energy Particles and available resources were insufficient to support their advancement to the intermediate Superior Talent Crystal level.

But reality had delivered a harsh slap to his face!

The Innate Abilities that these two Star Alliance Wizards wielded were definitely not elementary-level Lower Level; they were at least intermediate-level! Moreover, they ranked among the best of the intermediate Intermediate Talent Crystals; otherwise, their power could not have been this formidable.

And that was indeed the case. Sheman and Coley had constructed an Intermediate Talent Crystal—the lower-level version of 'Liquid Metal.'

Su Nan had used the Magic core as the original model and synthesized various levels of Talent Crystals, placing them onto the exchange list for Wizard Apprentices to redeem. Ranging from the elementary-level Lower Level 'Magic Silver,' the intermediate-level 'Flowing Silver,' to the advanced-level Upper Level 'Silver Star,' they covered all levels and were readily available.

The abilities of these Talent Crystals were quite similar to 'Liquid Metal,' except that their power varied according to their respective levels.

Although the exchange list featured many Talent Crystals, including the Gloomy Throne's 'White Bone' and the Starfall Society's 'Falling Star,' many Level Three Wizard Apprentices chose 'Magic Silver' and 'Flowing Silver' when constructing their Talent Crystal Models, out of respect and admiration for Su Nan.

Sheman and Coley made the same choice, uniting in their selection of the intermediate-level 'Flowing Silver.' As for the advanced-level Upper Level 'Silver Star,' no one had opted for it yet; all had hesitated due to its extremely high Superior Talent Crystal Model difficulty.

But even the intermediate-level 'Flowing Silver' surpassed 'White Bone.'

"Where on earth did these Star Alliance Wizards acquire this Intermediate Talent Crystal?" Andrew's heart was filled with astonishment.

Intermediate Talent Crystals were generally quite renowned, and the top intermediate-level ones were known by all.

But in his memories, Andrew had never seen or heard of such an intermediate-level Innate Ability.

Could it be a new Talent Crystal Model created by the Star Alliance himself?

He couldn't believe it.

Even for a True Spirit Wizard, creating an Intermediate Talent Crystal model from scratch wasn’t easy!

What shocked him even more was the strength of the two people in front of him.

After fighting for a while, he was certain that both of them were Level One Liquid Warlocks, just like him!

"Damn it, they're clearly just from the Elemental Desert Plane. How could they cultivate as Level One Liquid Warlocks, and two of them at that?"

Andrew was a mix of shock and anger.

The key was that these two were completely different from the weak native Wizards he had imagined. Not only did they possess intermediate-level Innate Abilities, but they also had a complete mastery of various Spell types. Each of them had power that was no less than his own.

Clearly, they were Wizards who had advanced in this Elemental Desert era, so why were their foundations of power not any weaker than his, a Large Wizard Faction-born Wizard?

Faced with the joint attack of two Wizards of similar power, Andrew quickly found himself at a disadvantage, struggling just to hold on.

Then, at that moment, Coley suddenly retreated, the silver tide-like aura surrounding him faded, returning to his original skin tone.

Immediately after, he flipped his wrist, and a pitch-black spearhead appeared out of thin air in his palm.

"It's time to end this!"

Coley's fingers clenched suddenly, and pitch-black, ink-like light burst forth between them, rapidly forming a two-meter-long black spear!

Sensing the terrifying energy contained within the black spear, Andrew's expression changed drastically.

"A Wizard Tool!"

This guy actually had a Wizard Tool!

When the Wizard Expedition left the Starlight Continent, it was impossible for them to leave behind a Wizard Tool, so how did this guy from the Star Alliance acquire one?

Even he didn’t have a Wizard Tool!

Wait!

Andrew suddenly noticed that the Wizard Tool looked strikingly similar to Gloomy Throne's Black Thunder!

Could it be a Wizard Tool developed based on the Black Thunder?

The more Andrew looked at it, the more similar it appeared, filling his heart with incredible shock.

Star Alliance

What kind of background does he have? First, it was the Intermediate Talent Crystal, and now it's a Wizard Tool. How can a native Wizard Organization possess the resources to develop such treasures?

Andrew feels like he's about to go crazy. Ever since entering the Starlight Continent, the things he has encountered have become increasingly bizarre and simply unbelievable.

The sense of superiority he had upon entering the Starlight Continent has completely vanished, replaced by a profound shock and unease.

Before he could think any further, Coley had already forcefully flung out his spear.

Accompanied by an ear-piercing sonic boom, a black lightning bolt tore through the void, striking with overwhelming momentum!

In his shock, Andrew barely had time to conjure layers of Bone Shields in front of him, firmly shielding himself behind them.

Boom!

The black lightning bolt slammed into the Bone Shield, instantly shattering the first layer, followed by the second and third. In the blink of an eye, the multiple layers of Bone Shield that Andrew had painstakingly created with his Spiritual Power were completely annihilated!

He could only watch helplessly as the black lightning broke through the scattered fragments and struck him.

As the pitch-black lightning violently exploded, the Energy Particle Protection Layer, spell protections, and magical item protections on his body were ripped apart and destroyed. Intense pain washed over him like a tidal wave, engulfing his entire being!

Boom!

It sounded as if a lightning bolt had detonated in the sky!

When the black lightning dissipated, Andrew was already unconscious, plummeting towards the ground.

Having anticipated this, Sheman controlled a Mage Hand to catch Andrew.

"The merit is in hand!" Sheman exclaimed, a broad smile on his face.

Coley's lips curled into a hint of a smile as he stowed away the Black Thunder.

Once the concentration of Energy Particles in the Starlight Continent returns to normal, recharging the Wizard Tool will no longer be an issue. It can be fully recharged with energy in just four or five days after use.

"Capturing this guy will earn us enough Contribution Points to exchange for the right to use a superior Cultivation room for two or three years."

"I'd rather exchange it for a Crystal Soul Potion."

The two were deep in conversation when their expressions shifted simultaneously. They turned to see two figures materialize out of thin air: none other than the Secret Puppet Girl of the Witch Hunter Legion.

Observing this, Sheman smiled slightly and with a flick of his hand, tossed the unconscious Andrew over.

"He’s all yours; take him back to the Confinement Area."

Starlight Wizard Tower, Study.

Lize sat behind her desk, her eyes closed in meditation, until Artier walked in. She then opened her eyes and spoke calmly, "How did it go?"

"My lady, Sheman and Coley happened to be near Karen City. Before the Witch Hunter Legion arrived, they had already captured Gloomy Throne's Wizard, and now Secret Puppet is escorting him here."

Lize smiled faintly. "Those two youngsters are quite proactive."

Artier chuckled. "Sheman and Coley haven’t been Wizards for long; they need a lot of Contribution Points, which is probably why they’re so driven."

Lize gave Artier a knowing glance. "No need for you to remind me, little one. I won't let their efforts go unrewarded. Make sure to note their achievements and convert them into the corresponding Contribution Points."

Having her thoughts seen through by Lize, Artier smiled sheepishly and nodded in agreement.

Lize then shifted the topic. "What about the investigation results?"

At the mention of official business, Artier's expression turned serious. "According to Star Eye's monitoring, over the past day, the Starlight Continent has recorded fourteen unregistered bursts of Energy Particle Fluctuation. Two of those reached Second Level Wizard Apprentice standard, eight reached Third Level Wizard Apprentice standard, and only four reached First Level Wizard standard."

"I’ve already dispatched the Golem Legion from nearby locations to capture those responsible for the bursts. Furthermore, the Witch Hunter Legion is on their way. With the Teleportation Array in use, they should arrive very soon."

Lize nodded in satisfaction.

Star Eye’s assessment of target strength levels was based entirely on the intensity of the Energy Particle Fluctuation bursts, which does not necessarily reflect their actual power.

"For instance, a wizard that can only unleash a Zero Ring Spell might only attain the strength of a Second Level Wizard Apprentice. Under the scrutiny of Star Eye, it would be classified as such.

Consequently, the fourteen strands of Energy Particle Fluctuation detected by Star Eye may all belong to Gloomy Throne's wizards.

However, this is inconsequential. Given the current strength of Star Alliance, even if there were a hundred Level One Wizards, they would have complete confidence in annihilating them all.

Aurora City.

Once the capital of the Aurora Empire, Aurora City was incorporated into the territory of the Prosperous Star Empire after the latter razed the former.

Seven hundred years have passed, and nearly all traces of the Aurora Empire have been erased from this city. The residents now recognize only the Prosperous Star Empire and take pride in being its citizens.

What was once a peaceful and prosperous city has today erupted into a fierce battle.

The two sides facing off are a group of colossal, skeleton-like humanoid creatures and hundreds of golems.

These skeleton-shaped humanoids are draped in tattered red cloth, exposing only their pale white bone arms. Despite their skeletal appearance, they are towering and robust, with five claw-like fingers extending at least half a meter long.

Even more astonishing is that these slender, razor-sharp claws can freely extend and retract, capable of instantly reaching seven or eight meters without hesitation, piercing straight through the enemy’s body!

Unfortunately, their opponents are the Steel Golems, whose bodies are virtually indestructible, alongside some Mithril Golems.

The extremely sharp claws of the skeletons leave only shallow gashes, about an inch deep, when striking the Steel Golems.

Against the Mithril Golems, they wouldn't even leave a visible mark.

From his vantage point on the wide street transformed into a battlefield, Milton gazed down at the carnage below, his brows furrowed.

Gloomy Throne's Bone Claw Legion is renowned throughout the Multiverse, and it's unknown how many planes they have conquered."

During the invasion of Starlight Continent, he had used a secret technique to seal two hundred bone claws to carry with him. He thought that placing them on Starlight Continent would be sufficient to suppress any nation, but he never imagined that even the garrison of just one city could hold his Bone Claw Legion to a standstill.

"Those two hundred Steel Golems are one thing, but those seven Mithril Golems are clearly enchanted and have had spells stabilized upon them. They are definitely not something a Level Three Wizard Apprentice could refine. The creator is most likely a formal wizard!"

"Starlight Continent actually gave rise to a formal wizard?"

Milton found this hard to believe.

He knew how harsh the environment of Starlight Continent was. Even though the concentration of energy particles had been recovering over the last two or three centuries, it shouldn't have been enough to produce a wizard.

After all, Starlight Continent was severely lacking in resources.

Nevertheless, the evidence before him presented an undeniable truth.

Milton quickly realized that something unexpected must have occurred on Starlight Continent.

Originally, he intended to find a noble lord to interrogate for information, but before he could act on his plan, he found himself surrounded by a squad of golems shortly after entering the town.

Moreover, more and more golems were converging on him.

Milton surveyed the area. From his elevated vantage point, he could see countless golems swarming like a black tide, with many human knights riding black panthers mixed among them.

With Milton's keen eyesight and experience, he could tell at a glance that those black panthers were all puppets.

However, what surprised him even more were the strange, glowing patterns on the silver light of those human knights.

"Magic Pattern Constructs!"

Milton's eyes twitched slightly.

Only a wizard faction that controlled a vast amount of resources would equip their subordinate knight legion with Magic Pattern Constructs.

Could it be that a wizard faction had emerged on Starlight Continent as well?

As soon as this thought arose, Milton shook his head in denial.

The soil of Starlight Continent could never give birth to a wizard faction!

"For an elemental desert plane to give rise to a wizard faction, that's simply an unbelievable tale!"

Milton shook his head, dismissing the extraneous thoughts, and narrowed his eyes slightly.

"I should quickly deal with these Golems, then capture the Noble Lord of this town and interrogate him for information. I’m already curious about what has transpired on this continent over the last thousand years."

Although the forces of Aurora City were slightly more than he had anticipated, Milton didn’t let it bother him at all.

Legendary-level Puppets and Human Knights? Even if there were twenty or thirty thousand of them, he could eliminate them with a mere flick of his hand.

However, just as Milton was about to make his move, his expression suddenly changed. His entire body vanished from where he stood and instantly reappeared a hundred meters away. At the same time, he raised his hand, and the ring on his index finger flashed with light. Dozens of pale, sharp bone spikes materialized out of thin air, shooting out like arrows and striking the spot where he had just been.

Thud, thud, thud!

Though it was empty space, the bone spikes seemed to hit an invisible object, emitting a series of muffled sounds as if striking leather.

The void twisted, and then a figure slowly emerged.

It was a beautiful young woman with delicate features, wearing a long robe.

Her body was enveloped in a layer of an invisible protective field, which had blocked all the bone spikes.

"A wizard!"

Milton's face darkened. He hadn't expected that the moment he had speculated about her, she would appear before him.

Could this person be the creator of those Mithril Golems?

"Who are you?" Milton asked in a low voice, intending to extract information from the girl.

However, the girl merely shot him a cold glance before attacking without a word.

Silvery liquid metal spilled from her body, transforming into countless metal spikes that surged toward him like a tidal wave in a fierce assault.

Milton sneered and decisively activated his innate ability. Pale bones rapidly formed a shell around his entire body, resembling a giant beast, and blocked the silver spikes.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sharp silver spikes slammed into the bone armor, creating fist-sized dents, but the bones quickly multiplied, growing back to fill the gaps.

Milton's eyebrow twitched, and a trace of disdain flashed in his eyes.

A cold snicker echoed in Milton's mind as he suddenly lunged forward, instantly covering a hundred meters to appear beside the young woman. Opening his massive mouth, formed of skeletal remains, he bared his sharp bone teeth and bit down fiercely!

The young woman dodged to the side, but he still bit into her left shoulder, her entire arm vanishing in an instant.

Milton wore a smug smile, but it froze the next second as his eyes fixed on the silver liquid flowing from the young woman's severed arm.

"It's Mithril!"

"You're not human!"

Milton paled in shock.

He had never imagined that the opponent he faced was actually a puppet!

This young woman was, in fact, just a Wizard-Level puppet!

A chill ran down Milton's spine at that realization.

A single Wizard-Level puppet posed no threat to him, but what truly unsettled him was the implication behind it.

Whoever could craft a Wizard-Level puppet was likely a Second-Level Wizard!

Although it was theoretically impossible for an environment like the Starlight Continent to birth a Second-Level Wizard, the evidence stood before him, forcing him to reconsider.

More importantly, the ability to create a Wizard-Level puppet suggested that the Starlight Continent likely harbored more than one!

As if to confirm Milton's suspicions, the house below suddenly collapsed, and dark, dense tentacles burst through the rubble, wielding violent energy fluctuations as they lashed out toward Milton!

In an instant, the Skeletal Beast was engulfed by the countless black tentacles!
