Chapter 152: Unfathomable, Awakening Dragon Bone Tower
The Traveler had fought against Magic Hand before and knew just how powerful he was. In a one-on-one confrontation, the Traveler felt that his chances of losing were far greater than his chances of winning. After all, Magic Hand's elusive and unpredictable fighting style was incredibly troublesome!
But what was happening before his eyes? Magic Hand had actually been beaten into such a miserable state by Su Nan!
He had to remember that less than an hour had passed since the Key Fragment had appeared. Excluding the time spent chasing after it and searching for other holders, the two had probably been fighting for less than ten minutes. In such a short time, Su Nan had driven Magic Hand to flee in panic. This development was truly beyond his expectations.
Bloodmaw, well-acquainted with Magic Hand's strength and personality, was also stunned. Magic Hand was usually very arrogant; how crushed did he have to be to appear this disheveled?
“Be careful, this guy is Su Nan!”
“The Other: Wizard Apprentice who killed Wu Ge!”
Magic Hand flew beside Bloodmaw, speaking rapidly.
Bloodmaw was taken aback by this revelation, but it was quickly overshadowed by immense joy. He hadn’t forgotten that Star Tower's Key was with Su Nan. If he killed Su Nan, the Key would be his.
“Star Tower's Key is mine!” Bloodmaw growled in a low voice.
"It's a deal!" Bloodmaw's enormous mouth split into a cruel and violent smile, revealing his sharp teeth.
Nearby, the Traveler was already secretly stunned.
Su Nan?
Was that the Player's real name? He had killed Wu Ge?
The Traveler had also heard of Wu Ge's reputation. It was said he possessed an alien insect descended from an Ancient Bloodline, and his power was not to be underestimated. He never imagined that he would actually meet his demise at the hands of the Player! Combined with Magic Hand's current disheveled state, it seemed that the Player's strength was even more formidable than he had anticipated!
“Roar!”
A sound like the roar of an ancient beast exploded like thunder, interrupting the Traveler's stupor.
Bloodmaw's body suddenly swelled as if being inflated, his skin cracking open while bloody muscle burst forth from the wounds.
In the blink of an eye, Bloodmaw transformed into a Flesh Giant over ten meters tall, with foul, black blood oozing from his flesh and trickling down his skin.
His bloated head was bald, save for a single, cold eye.
"Roar!"
The Flesh Giant roared and lunged toward Su Nan.
At the same time, Magic Hand summoned two Four-Legged Monsters to attack Traveler, while he himself unleashed a swarm of inky black tentacles, surrounding Su Nan from all sides.
"This time, I'll definitely kill you!" Magic Hand sneered inwardly.
The Bloodline Ability that Bloodmaw had integrated was special, allowing him to unleash the accumulated essence of devoured flesh in a short burst, greatly enhancing his strength.
Although this power could only be maintained for four or five minutes, during that time, he would be comparable to a Fourth Circle Legend!
Even Su Nan would struggle to withstand it!
The downside was that he would need several years to accumulate flesh essence again.
Despite this, Bloodmaw wasn't a match for Su Nan in a one-on-one fight, but with his full power on his side, Magic Hand believed he could defeat Su Nan.
As for Traveler, Magic Hand had never taken him seriously.
That guy was merely relying on the strength of his Azure Spirit Branch defenses; his true strength paled in comparison.
Two Four-Legged Monsters should be enough to hold Traveler off for a while. In the meantime, he’d deal with Su Nan first!
"Crap!"
Traveler had heard of Bloodmaw's signature move. Seeing it now, his expression changed; he wanted to rush to Su Nan's aid, but was intercepted by the two Four-Legged Monsters. He could only watch helplessly as the Flesh Giant that Bloodmaw had transformed into slammed a fist down toward Su Nan!
Boom!
A violent shockwave erupted outward, centered on Su Nan and spreading in all directions!
But to everyone's surprise, Su Nan, who had taken the full brunt of the devastating blow, didn’t even flinch, remaining completely unharmed.
"Over three hundred points of defense—impressive," a flicker of surprise crossed Su Nan's eyes.
"Ordinarily, the power wielded by a Level Three Wizard Apprentice using a Second Circle Spell equated to less than one hundred points of defense.
However, this punch from the Flesh Giant had effortlessly negated more than three hundred points of defense, nearly equivalent to the combined power of four Second Circle Spells.
This power was undoubtedly at the Fourth Circle Legend level!
“An ability to temporarily enhance strength, perhaps?”
After a brief moment of contemplation, Su Nan smiled, a glimmer of understanding sparking in his eyes.
Typically, such abilities came at a hefty cost and required tremendous consumption, much like his Magic Pattern Core, which made them relatively straightforward to counter.
The solution lay in a contest of strength!
With a decisive thought, silvery metal liquid surged from his pores, swiftly solidifying into metal spikes that launched toward the Flesh Giant.
The Flesh Giant, still reeling from the shock of its punch failing to breach Su Nan's defense, was suddenly engulfed by a storm of metal. Its massive body seemed to fall into a high-speed grinding machine, flesh torn and ground away, a thick, dark red mist of blood exploding all around!
Although the mangled flesh rapidly regenerated, the agonizing pain compelled the Flesh Giant to emit a shrill howl.
This suffering ignited its ferocity. Enduring the onslaught of metal spikes, it pounded its fists toward Su Nan repeatedly, the dull thuds echoing like thunder.
Both combatants abandoned defense, engaging in a brutal contest of strength against strength, hardness against hardness, focusing solely on attacking—an endurance battle to see who would falter first!
This ferocious display left Magic Hand and Traveler, who were watching from the sidelines, in wide-eyed shock.
However, Magic Hand quickly regained his senses and, seizing the opportunity, controlled his tentacles to launch a surprise attack on Su Nan from behind.
The pitch-black tentacles sliced through the air, lashing toward Su Nan’s back like whips.
In response, Su Nan retaliated with a Shattering Sound Wave, his figure blurring as he split into two.
“Instant Spell Casting? Composite Casting?”
Seeing this, Traveler, just like Magic Hand moments earlier, felt his eyes widen in disbelief.
Two types of Metamagic Techniques, each known to be among the most challenging!"
“No, since Instant Spell Casting is already mastered, then Silent Spell Casting must be mastered too!”
The player had truly mastered a full three types of Metamagic Techniques!
Traveler was momentarily astonished, as if he were witnessing a celestial being. It wasn't until he narrowly avoided the sharp claws of a Four-legged Monster that he abruptly snapped back to reality.
“What exactly is Player's background?”
As Traveler watched Player confront two formidable powerhouses, Bloodmaw and Magic Hand, he couldn’t help but admire him. The Player still appeared to have plenty of energy to spare, a testament to his strength. With such power, it seemed unlikely that anyone in Secret Forest Hut could compare!
While Traveler marveled at this spectacle, Magic Hand was becoming increasingly frantic. He and Bloodmaw had launched countless attacks at Su Nan, yet any other Level Three Wizard Apprentice would have been obliterated long ago. Nevertheless, Su Nan remained completely unscathed, enveloped in an invisible protective force field that seemed impossible to breach!
Even if Saulo had arrived, he too would have struggled to withstand the combined assaults of Magic Hand and Bloodmaw for so long without sustaining any injury! It was simply outrageous!
“What the hell is wrong with this guy?!”
After a long and futile assault, Magic Hand was nearing his breaking point. To make matters worse, Flesh Giant suddenly stiffened, then rapidly shrank as if it were deflating. Magic Hand’s expression shifted dramatically; he quickly understood that Bloodmaw had consumed too much blood essence to heal his wounds, causing him to revert to his original form in less than two minutes.
Realizing this, Magic Hand wasted no time and turned to flee into the distance. If Bloodmaw in his Flesh Giant state couldn’t handle Su Nan when they worked together, it would be even more impossible now. Continuing to fight would only lead to their demise!
He had to run! He would save his life now and plan for revenge later!
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Magic Hand fleeing as Su Nan calmly commanded a Metal Storm to shred the exhausted Bloodmaw into a sky filled with blood mist. With a flick of his wrist, the fallen Magic Item and Key Fragment landed in his palm.
After securing the items, he took out a High Rune Gem and activated it, transforming into a meteor as he chased after Magic Hand.
Hearing the rush of wind behind him, Magic Hand turned his head, and his soul nearly escaped in fright. He hastily summoned a few Four-legged Monsters to intercept Su Nan.
Dense Metal Spikes surrounded Su Nan, shooting forward like sharp arrows. They pierced through and tore apart the advancing Four-legged Monsters before slamming into Magic Hand without pause!
Chichichi!
The black tentacles he deployed for defense were instantly pulverized, and Magic Hand once again faced the onslaught of the Metal Storm.
This time, he had no strength left to escape.
His semi-shadowed body lasted only three or four breaths before being torn apart and annihilated by the Metal Storm, reduced to ashes.
The Magic Item and Key Fragment fell to the ground, and Su Nan scooped them up.
Now he held a total of four Key Fragments in his hand. Once joined together, they would form a Key that was just one piece short.
Returning to the original spot, as Magic Hand perished, the two Four-legged Monsters vanished like smoke.
The Traveler watched Su Nan approach, his eyes filled with complex emotions and a sigh.
Magic Hand and Bloodmaw were both renowned experts in the Southeast Region of the continent. To single-handedly face both and succeed in killing them was a feat few could achieve in the entire Southeast Region.
Not to mention Su Nan’s appearance clearly indicated he had not exerted his full strength.
His true power was a mystery, a degree of terror that was simply unfathomable!
His gaze swept over the nearly complete Key in Su Nan's hand. The Traveler chuckled bitterly and, without waiting for Su Nan to speak, tossed his Key Fragment over.
This Key Fragment was useless to him now. It was impossible to seize the remaining four Key Fragments from Su Nan, so he might as well hand it over and do a favor.
Su Nan glanced at the Traveler in surprise.
He had thought he would need to convince him, but he didn’t expect the Traveler to be so agreeable.
After a moment of thought, Su Nan took out a Space Ring and tossed it to the Traveler.
"The reward for the Key Fragment."
The Space Ring belonged to Magic Hand, and he had already taken out the materials, gems, and gold coins inside. Only a few Alchemy Magic Items remained, along with the Glimmer Grade protective Magic Item he had taken from Magic Hand's possession.
Since Traveler was quite straightforward, he didn't intend to take anything for free. He planned to give these items to the other party as a reward.
Anyway, these were of no use to him.
Traveler took the Space Ring with a doubtful expression, and his eyes widened as soon as he opened it.
"Are you sure you're giving all of this to me?" Traveler couldn't help but ask for confirmation.
It wasn't his fault for being so surprised; the Dim Magic Item was exceptionally precious. Even someone like him, who was considered to be doing relatively well as a Level Three Wizard Apprentice, only possessed one Dim Magic Item.
To him, Su Nan casually giving away a Dim Magic Item seemed a bit extravagant.
"For me, the value of the Key Fragment far exceeds these items," Su Nan said nonchalantly as he embedded the last Key Fragment. With a flash of faint light, the gap disappeared, and a complete Key was formed.
Looking at the Key in his hand, which resembled a square metal piece, a glimmer of joy flickered in Su Nan's eyes.
Not bothering to say much more to Traveler, he turned and flew toward the direction of the Dragon Bone Tower.
He couldn't wait to see what lay inside the Dragon Bone Tower.
Traveler hesitated for a moment, then decided to follow. He, too, was curious about what would happen after the Dragon Bone Tower was activated.
The two arrived at the vicinity of the Dragon Bone Tower one after the other.
Su Nan approached the White Bone Gate directly, his eyes sweeping over it as he embedded the Key into the square groove at the center of the gate.
Immediately, a soft click echoed, and countless fine threads of light emerged from the Key, extending along the bone patterns on the surface of the gate.
The next second, with a loud rumble, the White Bone Gate began to slowly open.
Su Nan took a deep breath and stepped inside.
His vision suddenly darkened, then brightened abruptly, dispelling the surrounding shadows.
As he looked around, he found himself in a spacious hall.
The entire hall was paved with white marble, featuring an orderly arrangement of stone chairs and tables. Hundreds of Everbright Pearls were embedded in the ceiling.
It was these Everbright Pearls that suddenly emitted light, illuminating the entire hall.
"Seems like a typical rest area," Su Nan mused as he walked toward the center of the hall, where a Teleportation Array was drawn on the ground.
The moment he stepped into the Teleportation Array, countless rays of light appeared before his eyes, interweaving to form a semi-transparent Light Screen. On it were inscribed the words 'Second Level' and 'Third Level,' listed from top to bottom, all the way to the 'Fifteenth Level.'
"Only fifteen floors?"
A flicker of confusion crossed Su Nan's eyes.
After all, the height of the Dragon Bone Tower easily exceeded a thousand meters, and its volume was immense. Even without employing Space Folding technology, based on actual spatial calculations, it should have far more than just fifteen floors.
With this doubt lingering in his mind, Su Nan selected the Second Level.
His vision suddenly blurred, and a powerful wave of weightlessness swept through his entire body, making his chest feel somewhat constricted.
After several seconds, the strange sensation gradually subsided, and the reassuring solidity of the ground returned to his feet.
"It's been a long time since I've experienced this feeling,” Su Nan sighed inwardly.
This was the first time in this life that he had used the Teleportation Array.
Steadying himself, Su Nan looked up and saw a bright hall before him, much smaller than the previous one.
Around the edges were a series of doors arranged in a circle. Through the door openings, he could vaguely see the spacious and tidy corridor behind them.
Su Nan began to walk, entering the first corridor on the far right.
On both sides of the corridor were closed doors. He casually opened one and found a spacious room, decorated simply yet comfortably, complete with furniture. However, the floor and furnishings were covered in a layer of dust, clearly having not been cleaned for quite some time.
Looking at the other rooms, he noticed they all shared a similar decoration and layout.
Su Nan immediately understood that this floor was a residential area.
