Storming the Headquarters

The Young Man's words seemed to stump the Old Man. He took several more drags from his dry pipe before sighing and responding.

"While your recent remarks were thoughtless, you weren't entirely wrong on one point: this truly is a golden opportunity, one in a thousand years. If we miss it, who knows when such a chance will arise again. However, just the two of us, master and disciple, certainly won't be enough. We'll need to find some helpers."

As the Old Man spoke, his expression was serious and his brows were tightly furrowed. It was clear from his face that he was approaching this matter with extreme caution.

And no wonder. This was a matter where one could easily lose their life, not to mention suffer Soul Transformation, losing even the chance at reincarnation. He had no choice but to be cautious.

"Find helpers? Among Lecheng's Spirit Mediums, only the two of us, master and disciple, are left. Where else can we find help? People from other factions avoid the Underworld Office like the plague; they'd never help us."

The Young Man spoke, his expression somewhat despondent. The Old Man's reminder had left him without any hope for the matter.

"Call you a pig, and you'll still argue! So Lecheng has no Spirit Mediums left, but has Ancheng been wiped out too? Are there no Spirit Mediums in other cities either? How far can Yang Haoran's reach extend?"

The Old Man's words made the Young Man suddenly realize, and his eyes instantly lit up!

"Master is right, Master's brain is still sharp!"

The Young Man was overjoyed and, by the way, flattered the Old Man. But then he thought of a problem, and the delight on his face suddenly became unnatural.

The Old Man, having just been flattered by the Young Man, had been in a good mood, but seeing the change in the Young Man's expression, his good mood instantly vanished.

"What's wrong with you now?"

The Old Man took another drag from his dry pipe and asked, his face full of helplessness.

"The only reason the two of us, master and disciple, didn't die at Yang Haoran's hands like the other Lecheng Spirit Mediums is because we had no contact with them. That's precisely why Yang Haoran doesn't know about our existence."

The Old Man frowned upon hearing this, his expression showing impatience.

"What exactly are you trying to say? Just get to the point, please," the Old Man said.

"I mean, Master, you don't even know any Spirit Mediums. Where are you going to find help? " the Young Man asked, his face full of worry.

"Hmph, I, your Master, am not a native of Lecheng. If I don't know the local Spirit Mediums, does that mean I don't know any from other places? Furthermore, with Yang Haoran heavily injured this time, it's likely that more than just you and I will want to seize this opportunity to strike at him. I just need to spend some time, and it's impossible that I won't find helpers. Pack your things; we're heading to Ancheng now. By the time the two of us, master and disciple, return from Ancheng, it will be Yang Haoran's death day!"

With a quick tidy-up, the master and disciple immediately left Lecheng in secret.

Two days later, the pair of master and disciple returned, appearing in an inconspicuous corner outside Yang Haoran's villa. Besides them, three more people had joined them: two men and one woman.

No fluctuations could be detected from the five individuals, not even life fluctuations. It seemed they had sealed all their power.

"The snake demon Bai Xue is currently at the Administrative Courtyard, protecting Administrative Chief Zhu Rong. However, I can't be certain if she's left any sensing techniques inside the villa. If she has, then our attack will definitely be instantly detected by her. She'll certainly rush back to provide support at the first possible moment. If that's the case, our situation will be troublesome. So we must achieve a swift victory, ending the battle as quickly as possible, without wasting a single moment, understand?"

The speaker was a middle-aged man. From his tone, he seemed to be the leader among the five.

The other four listened, none refuting him, all nodding in agreement.

The four held considerable reverence for the middle-aged man. From this, it was clear that either his strength surpassed theirs, or he possessed some other extraordinary qualities.

"Remember, Yang Haoran must be captured alive. Do not kill him. Alive, his value is far greater!"

The middle-aged man gave his final reminder to the four. After receiving their affirmative replies, he gave the order to attack!

"Proceed with the planned attack!"

As his voice fell, the five individuals, including the middle-aged man, simultaneously broke their seals, unleashing their respective powers and summoning their Guardian Spirits.

The five charged towards Yang Haoran's villa at top speed. Along the way, they each unleashed their Spiritual Arts, launching an assault on the villa.

The five knew that Yang Haoran's villa was enveloped by a restrictive barrier. After all, this was no secret; anyone could find out with a simple inquiry. Thus, they had long since devised a strategy: to simultaneously attack a single point on the barrier, aiming to breach it as quickly as possible to facilitate their entry into the villa.

This was precisely what the five were doing. Although their Spiritual Arts varied in nature and power, their target was the same: the main entrance of the villa.

The instant the five's attacks neared the villa, the Mountain River Grand Array sensed the threat and passively activated. The restrictive barrier lit up, engulfing the entire villa.

BOOM! ! !

A thunderous explosion reverberated. The restrictive barrier blocked the various techniques unleashed by the five. This scene caused their expressions to change instantly. Though they knew Yang Haoran's residence was protected by a restrictive barrier, they hadn't anticipated it would be so formidable. Even with their combined efforts, they failed to successfully breach it.

"Increase the intensity!"

Seeing this, the middle-aged man immediately ordered the other four. The four dared not delay, quickly increasing their Spirit Power output as per his instructions.

As the five simultaneously intensified their efforts, the luminous barrier of the restrictive formation unleashed by the Mountain River Grand Array trembled violently. The next instant, with another explosion, the barrier was forcibly blasted open by the five's attacks, creating a breach.

Upon seeing this, the five flashed their figures and rushed through the breach into the villa.

As the five launched their assault on Yang Haoran's villa, a black shadow watched from afar within a distant, dense forest. The person's location was heavily vegetated and quite remote and concealed, making them difficult to discover.

This was a spot he had specifically chosen. Although extremely remote, it offered a perfect view of everything unfolding outside Yang Haoran's villa. As for the situation inside the villa, he couldn't discern it due to the restrictive barrier.

The person stood motionless like a statue, quietly observing Yang Haoran's villa. He made no sound; even his breathing was barely audible, as if he were dead.

In less than the time it takes to smoke a cigarette, the five individuals who had forcibly breached the barrier and rushed into the villa now stumbled out, looking disheveled. All five were wounded, one even missing an arm, their faces etched with terror.

The moment the five escaped the villa, several figures chased out from within. These individuals wore uniform black robes, clearly Yang Haoran's Night Watchers. Besides the Night Watchers, there was one person controlling a crescent wheel. This person, wielding the crescent wheel, was none other than Yang Haoran himself.

The group worked together, and in just a few short moments, they slaughtered all five invaders. Not a single one managed to escape. Of the five, two died at the hands of the Night Watchers, while the other three met gruesome ends beneath Yang Haoran's Soul Armament, Remnant Moon.

Rumors claimed Yang Haoran was severely wounded and close to death, while others said he was already dead. Yet, here Yang Haoran was, not only alive and well but even controlling his Soul Armament, Remnant Moon, to slay three Spirit Mediums. This scene completely contradicted the rumors.

"It seems my suspicions were indeed correct. All this talk of him being injured or dead was nothing but a trap set by Yang Haoran, likely intended to lure me out. Thankfully, I didn't act rashly, or I would have fallen right into his scheme this time. Oh, Yang Haoran, you truly put a lot of effort into this."

A hoarse voice emanated from the Black-Robed Person's mouth. After speaking, he turned to leave. However, just then, he seemed to notice something, his body suddenly stiffened, and his gaze fell back onto Yang Haoran.
