Chapter 942: You Are Not Qualified

Han Fushi's sudden interruption prevented Yang Haoran from speaking further.

The man was well aware of his disciple's temperament, and he had also detected the subtle, unconcealed panic in Han Fushi's tone, realizing that the situation was likely far more complicated than he had imagined.

And so, he glared fiercely at Han Fushi.

"Shut your mouth!"

Han Fushi had originally intended to curse Yang Haoran a few more times, to heap more dirt onto Yang Haoran, but a single glare and reprimand from the man immediately made him compliant. He could only seal his lips, daring not to utter another word.

Seeing Han Fushi fall silent, the man withdrew his gaze from him and turned to Yang Haoran.

"This is not the place for a conversation. Let us find another spot to talk, lest we become a laughingstock for others."

As his voice faded, the man's gaze swept over the spectators from other factions who had come to watch the show.

"Will you leave on your own, or shall I assist you out?"

The man spoke icily, his expression grim, his voice laced with intense killing intent.

Upon seeing the man on the verge of an outburst, the few onlookers dared not linger to continue watching the drama unfold.

Though they did not recognize the man, the Talisman he had just used was a Gold Talisman, and he was clad in the unique robes of a Talisman Order Gold Talisman Master. This clearly indicated that he was an exceptionally formidable Gold Talisman Master!

Such a high-level expert was not someone they could afford to provoke. Thus, they had no choice but to depart, fearing that if they didn't, they might never leave. After all, an enraged person could be utterly irrational; who could guarantee that this Gold Talisman Master wouldn't simply kill them in a fit of pique?

While watching a good show was enjoyable, compared to their own lives, it was utterly worthless. No matter how captivating the performance, it could not outweigh the importance of their own survival.

So, none of them tarried. One by one, they obediently left, not forgetting to bow respectfully to the esteemed Gold Talisman Master before their departure.

They arrived quickly and departed just as swiftly. Once everyone had left, the man's gaze once again settled on Yang Haoran.

"Young brother, may we find another place to speak?"

The man did not resort to aggressive means against Yang Haoran, and even his form of address had changed, from the previous "junior Yin Officer" to "young brother."

"Heh, of course."

Yang Haoran smiled, nodding to the man and agreeing to his suggestion.

He wasn't concerned about safety. Both he and Xu Meijing were Yin Officers who had opened their Heaven and Earth Souls. Even if his strength wasn't equal to the man's, with Xu Meijing by his side, they might not necessarily be at a disadvantage against him.

Furthermore, if he unleashed his full power, it was quite possible the man wouldn't be his match. Naturally, he had nothing to worry about.

As for Xu Meijing, since Yang Haoran had already agreed, she naturally found it improper to object.

Seeing Yang Haoran nod in agreement, the man's face darkened as he turned to Han Fushi.

"I recall there's an underground secret chamber beneath this temple. Lead us there."

The man's cold command made Han Fushi's face immediately contort with hesitation.

"Master, this. . ."

The man was already seething with anger, and seeing Han Fushi's hesitation, that fury instantly erupted onto his disciple.

"Just lead the way when I tell you to! Where's all this nonsense coming from? !"

The man roared furiously at Han Fushi, making him jump. Daring no further hesitation, Han Fushi could only brace himself and lead Yang Haoran and the others into the temple's underground secret chamber.

There were several Black Talisman Masters present, and many Yellow Talisman Masters watching the commotion from a distance. However, not all Talisman Masters were qualified to enter the underground secret chamber. To prevent more people from learning sensitive information, the man left the other Talisman Masters outside the chamber, instructing them to guard the area and permit no one to approach.

Thus, only four people entered the underground secret chamber: Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing, and the man and Han Fushi.

Although the previous battle had been fierce, even utterly destroying the entire temple, the underground secret chamber beneath it remained unharmed, escaping damage from the conflict.

This was because the underground secret chamber was not only constructed from extremely sturdy materials, but also protected by a restrictive barrier, allowing it to be preserved during the preceding battle.

Inside the underground secret chamber, the man found a spot and sat down. Xu Meijing, true to her cool and direct nature, also made herself comfortable, finding a seat on her own, even faster than the man.

In other words, before the Gold Talisman Master had even settled, Xu Meijing had already found a seat.

After the man sat down, Yang Haoran, likewise, didn't stand on ceremony and took a seat beside Xu Meijing. As for Han Fushi, he naturally dared not sit as casually as the other two. As a disciple, he was certainly only entitled to stand before his master.

Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing, in the eyes of others, were merely Yin Officers who had opened their Heaven Souls, and rather ordinary ones at that. In such a scenario, encountering a Black Talisman Master like Han Fushi would place them on roughly the same level, and a bit of casualness would be deemed acceptable.

However, the man was a Gold Talisman Master, a rank above a Yin Officer who had only opened their Heaven Soul. Under normal circumstances, someone of a lower standing would not be qualified to sit. Yet, Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing completely disregarded this unwritten rule, leisurely taking their seats right in front of the Gold Talisman Master, as if they were in their own home.

They acted this way, of course, because they did not hold the man in particular regard. Furthermore, both of them had already opened their Heaven and Earth Souls; strictly speaking, they were on the same level as the man, so sitting casually in front of him was not at all inappropriate.

However, the man was unaware of this. In his eyes, both Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing were merely Emissaries of Death who had only opened their Heaven Souls, and specifically, Emissaries from a small region whose strength surely couldn't be great. Seeing them casually sit before him, his brows furrowed slightly, and a displeased expression crossed his face.

"My master is here! What right do you two have to sit? Get up!"

Han Fushi's face was flushed with anger as he coldly rebuked Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing. In his eyes, Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing were merely on his level; since he was dutifully standing behind his master, what right did Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing have to sit? This made him feel greatly humiliated.

Moreover, he wanted to make a good impression on his master, hoping to lighten any potential punishment he might receive, which prompted him to speak those words.

"Heh, I'd like to ask, what right do we *not* have to sit?"

Xu Meijing retorted with an aloof expression, neither rising nor intending to. Yang Haoran's thoughts mirrored Xu Meijing's, so he likewise had no intention of standing.

This time, the Gold Talisman Master did not stop Han Fushi, allowing him to speak. Perhaps in his view, Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing were indeed too disrespectful, and it was appropriate for his disciple to use his words to remind them.

"My master is a Gold Talisman Master, holding the most esteemed position in the Talisman Order! What are you two? Merely junior Yin Officers who have opened your Heaven Souls. Of course you have no right to sit before my master!"

Han Fushi stated in a low voice. His words belittled Yang Haoran and Xu Meijing, but at the same time, they laid a thick layer of flattery on the Gold Talisman Master.

"Your master is a Gold Talisman Master, and holds a high position in the Talisman Order. What does that have to do with us? Are you out of your mind from being beaten? We are Yin Officers, not Talisman Masters. Do you think it's appropriate to try to suppress us with your master's status as a Talisman Master?"

"You! ! !"

Xu Meijing's face was scornful. Her words left Han Fushi utterly speechless. Though his heart swelled with fury, he couldn't find a suitable retort, managing only to force out a single word before falling silent.

The man also realized that Han Fushi couldn't win against Xu Meijing, so he frowned slightly and waved his hand, signaling Han Fushi to stop speaking.

Han Fushi understood his master's meaning and once again dutifully closed his mouth.

"Teaching you manners is Luo Yao's business; it's not my place to interfere. However, if you cannot provide a reasonable explanation today, I will not only teach you manners, but also how to conduct yourselves as people. " The man said, his face grim.
