Chapter 937: Immobilization Talisman

Although Yang Haoran's strength was considerably greater than expected, Han Fushi did not back down. He still believed he was capable of winning; with a few more tricks, slaying Yang Haoran was still within reach.

Seeing that the first wave of attacks was about to conclude, Han Fushi gritted his teeth and retrieved another batch of Ghost-Slaying Talismans from his independent space. There were roughly over twenty talismans in this batch, and they were the last Ghost-Slaying Talismans he possessed.

While the previous batch of Ghost-Slaying Talismans hadn't taken Yang Haoran's life, they had successfully suppressed him. His objective in taking out all the remaining Ghost-Slaying Talismans from his independent space was singular: to make a concerted effort to completely breach Yang Haoran's defenses and seize the opportunity to take his life.

"Go! ! !"

Han Fushi roared, and under his control, the second batch of Ghost-Slaying Talismans swarmed towards Yang Haoran's Soul Armament, Remnant Moon.

In the blink of an eye, these Ghost-Slaying Talismans struck Remnant Moon. Han Fushi's timing was impeccable; as soon as the previous attack ended, the second wave of talismans seamlessly followed, giving Yang Haoran not a single moment to catch his breath.

Remnant Moon was forced to continuously retreat, even exhibiting a slight tremor. In this situation, Yang Haoran had no choice but to inject more Spirit Power into Remnant Moon to resist Han Fushi's second wave of Ghost-Slaying Talismans.

As a large amount of Spirit Power flowed into Remnant Moon, it ceased trembling and stopped its retreat. Any further retreat would have caused it to collide with Yang Haoran's body.

The second wave of Ghost-Slaying Talismans was ultimately blocked by Yang Haoran's Remnant Moon. Witnessing this, Han Fushi's expression instantly turned somewhat grim.

Across two successive waves of attacks, he had unleashed all the Ghost-Slaying Talismans in his possession, fully expecting to send Yang Haoran to meet the Death God. Yet, not only had he failed to dispatch Yang Haoran, he hadn't even harmed a single hair on his body.

With a hum, Remnant Moon reverted to its normal size, circling Yang Haoran's body. It seemed to be protecting him, yet also searching for an opportunity to strike.

"Heh heh, Master Han certainly is a lavish spender. These Black Talisman-grade Ghost-Slaying Talismans, though not exceedingly precious, are still quite valuable. Without a significant family fortune, one wouldn't dare squander them like you do."

Yang Haoran chuckled, speaking to Han Fushi. To Han Fushi, these words sounded utterly provocative, and seeing Yang Haoran appear to still have plenty of strength left only deepened his vexation.

"Hmph, there's no need for you to be arrogant. The battle has only just begun, and the real show is yet to come. When I extract your soul, we'll see if you can still manage to smile!"

Han Fushi let out a cold snort. After his words fell, he took out another talisman from his independent space. This time was different from the previous two; he only produced a single talisman.

"I didn't want to use this talisman, but since you're so hell-bent on seeking death, don't blame me!"

Han Fushi's words immediately made Yang Haoran think of the Lock Yin Talisman. He didn't know how many Lock Yin Talismans the Black-Robed Person possessed, and neither did the young woman whose soul he had slayed and extracted.

If the Black-Robed Person had more than one Lock Yin Talisman, it was possible they would give one to Han Fushi, especially since they were, in a sense, semi-collaborators.

If the talisman Han Fushi had taken out truly was a Lock Yin Talisman, it would be somewhat troublesome for Yang Haoran. It wasn't that he was afraid; since he had been able to instantly break free from the Lock Yin Talisman the young woman had implanted on him last night, he could similarly and instantly nullify one even if Han Fushi possessed it and successfully applied it to him. The reason he found it troublesome was that, at that point, he would be forced to expose more of his strength.

Before Yang Haoran could even clearly see whether the talisman Han Fushi had taken out was a Lock Yin Talisman, it ignited in front of Han Fushi, instantly turning to ash.

The moment the talisman dissolved into ash, Yang Haoran suddenly sensed a force binding his body, rendering him utterly unable to move a single inch.

"Immobilization Talisman!"

Although Yang Haoran hadn't clearly seen what kind of talisman it was a moment ago, the instant the force took effect on his body, he immediately identified it as an Immobilization Talisman.

No matter what, he was still a Talisman Master. While his current realm was still quite low, he was indeed a Talisman Master, and he also had some understanding of talismans. He happened to know about Immobilization Talismans, so he naturally wouldn't be mistaken.

This Immobilization Talisman could only be used on living beings with flesh and blood. Once affected, the physical body would be completely unable to move or speak, though consciousness remained clear. As for the duration of the immobilization, it depended on the talisman's grade and the strength of the affected person.

The Immobilization Talisman belonged to the high-level category of talismans, far superior to conventional talismans. Precisely because of this, successfully drawing an Immobilization Talisman was no easy feat.

Just like Yang Haoran himself now: although he was a Talisman Master, there were some high-level talismans he couldn't draw. It wasn't because his Talisman Spirit Power couldn't support it, but rather due to insufficient proficiency and a lack of understanding of the knack, making success difficult.

The term "high-level" here didn't refer to the grade of the talisman after a Talisman Master drew it, but rather the inherent grade of the talisman itself.

Han Fushi hadn't used the Immobilization Talisman earlier, opting instead for a large number of Ghost-Slaying Talismans. Besides wanting to eliminate Yang Haoran outright in the most violent way, another reason was that this talisman was very precious, and he was reluctant to use it casually against an enemy. It would have been best if he didn't have to use it at all.

However, under the current circumstances, with two waves of Ghost-Slaying Talismans failing to take down Yang Haoran, he decided to use this talisman, no matter how reluctant he was to part with it.

Having successfully immobilized Yang Haoran, Han Fushi didn't immediately believe all was well. This was because the Immobilization Talisman could only bind the target's physical body, not seal their consciousness.

In other words, even if Yang Haoran's body couldn't move right now, he could still control his Soul Armament through his consciousness, retaining powerful destructive capabilities. Therefore, Han Fushi wasn't so naive as to think he could immediately take down Yang Haoran with just this.

However, it was undeniable that having his physical body immobilized had a significant impact on Yang Haoran. At the very least, he couldn't cast any Ghost Arts, and when faced with incoming attacks, his physical body couldn't dodge, leaving him extremely passive.

As a Talisman Master, Han Fushi naturally understood this. Thus, he had to seize this opportunity to employ other methods and take down Yang Haoran in one fell swoop, ensuring he didn't waste this precious Immobilization Talisman.

He just didn't know that if Yang Haoran wanted to break free from the Immobilization Talisman's restraint, it would only take an instant. If he had known, he probably wouldn't even have considered using other methods at this moment.

After successfully immobilizing Yang Haoran's physical body, the methods Han Fushi subsequently employed were still talismans. After all, he was a Talisman Master, and only talismans could allow him to fully utilize his combat prowess.

Since he no longer had any Ghost-Slaying Talismans, he could only use other lethal talismans to deal with Yang Haoran. Although these talismans didn't counter Yin Qi, or at least not as effectively as Ghost-Slaying Talismans, they could inflict considerable damage on the physical body. If he successfully hit Yang Haoran's physical body, this fierce fight would be over.

This time, Han Fushi gambled an even greater stake than before. With a sweeping wave of his hand, hundreds of talismans flew out from his independent space, forming a unique wall of talismans in front of him, each emitting a fluorescent glow.

These talismans were not of a single type; there was every kind imaginable. Without exception, all of them were lethal talismans. Yang Haoran took a quick glance at them. He couldn't recognize all of them instantly, as the sheer number and variety of talismans were too great. However, wherever his gaze fell, he recognized every talisman he clearly saw.

There were talismans of the Five Elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, as well as Wind Talismans and Lightning Talismans. All of these were lethal talismans. If there were only one or a few, it would be fine; Yang Haoran, even without unleashing his full strength, could easily defuse them by controlling Remnant Moon.

However, with a full hundred such talismans simultaneously targeting him, the situation was completely different. The power unleashed by these talismans simply couldn't be compared to a few. With the strength he had currently displayed, he might be overwhelmed.
