Chapter 916: Expanding Income Channels
The next day, Wu Senior and Wu Xiaoxiao were waiting outside Yang Haoran's study early in the morning. After a day of rest, while their moods couldn't be called lively, they were certainly better than the day before.
Although Yang Haoran wasn't in the study, the two of them hadn't deliberately sealed their power fluctuations, so he sensed their presence as they waited outside.
However, Yang Haoran didn't go to the study immediately. Instead, he waited for an hour before stepping out of his bedroom.
He hadn't intentionally made the father and daughter wait outside the study; rather, he genuinely had matters to attend to, which was why he appeared an hour later.
After meeting the father and daughter, Yang Haoran didn't bring up yesterday's events, so as not to stir their sorrow. He simply greeted them briefly and led them into the study.
The study wasn't locked, nor had Yang Haoran set up any restrictions, as this allowed others to conveniently enter and consult documents. However, Wu Senior and his daughter didn't enter on their own accord, choosing to wait outside instead.
This was because both of them understood clearly that they were only staying there due to Old Master Wu's connection; they weren't truly Yang Haoran's trusted confidants. Therefore, there were certain boundaries they dared not cross.
Although Yang Haoran had never made such demands of them, Old Master Wu had repeatedly instructed them, which was why the current scene unfolded.
After entering the study, Yang Haoran took out a large pile of books from his independent space and placed them before the two. Seeing books of varying thickness and even different conditions, the father and daughter were momentarily bewildered, unsure of what Yang Haoran intended.
Seeing the bewildered expressions on the father and daughter's faces, Yang Haoran explained with a faint smile.
"Yes, Boss."
Wu Senior agreed immediately without asking any questions. Wu Xiaoxiao was about to question Yang Haoran but was stopped by a glance from Wu Senior.
"Heh heh, we're all family here, so there's no need to be so reserved in front of me."
As his words fell, Yang Haoran looked at Wu Xiaoxiao and said with a smile.
"Say whatever you want; don't keep it bottled up."
Wu Xiaoxiao didn't feel any fear towards Yang Haoran, unlike Wu Senior. So, after hearing Yang Haoran's words, she hesitated slightly before speaking.
"Brother Yang, what are you planning to arrange for us to do?"
Seeing his daughter disregard his efforts to stop her, Wu Senior felt a headache coming on. However, since Yang Haoran had already spoken to this extent, he naturally couldn't continue to prevent Wu Xiaoxiao from speaking.
"I'm planning to open a shop in Lecheng. At that time, I'll have your father be the manager and you the clerk. However, the items I sell aren't ordinary, so you'll need to do some groundwork beforehand," Yang Haoran said with a smile.
Upon hearing Yang Haoran wanted him to do business, Wu Senior's eyes immediately lit up. He was an excellent businessman; after Old Master Wu retired, he had managed all of the Wu family's various businesses, large and small, and he had done it exceedingly well. He was very experienced in this area and also enjoyed it greatly.
After the world descended into chaos, their Wu family's businesses naturally became impossible to operate. Moreover, everyone was busy trying to save their lives; who had the mind to engage in commerce? Now, with Yang Haoran planning to open a shop in Lecheng and appoint him as manager, he felt he finally had a stage to showcase his abilities.
Wu Xiaoxiao's reaction was different from Wu Senior's. After hearing Yang Haoran's words and looking at the pile of books on the table, a worried expression appeared on her face.
"Brother Yang, do we really have to read all these books?"
Although Yang Haoran had made himself quite clear, Wu Xiaoxiao still couldn't help but ask for confirmation, her tone even carrying a hint of plea.
So many books—she hadn't even started reading, and already felt a headache coming on. It was natural for a worried expression to appear on her face, as she wasn't skilled at concealing her inner emotions.
"Heh heh, there's no other way. If you don't want my shop to close down, you absolutely must read these books. And in the future, I'll find more relevant books for you to broaden your knowledge," Yang Haoran said with a faint smile.
As soon as he said this, Wu Xiaoxiao's already worried face transformed into a bitter gourd expression.
"But. . . but with so many books, when will we ever finish reading them all? And we have to memorize them too. I'm worried I. . ."
Before Wu Xiaoxiao could finish her sentence, Wu Senior interrupted her.
"Xiaoxiao, we do as the Boss arranges. Why so many complaints? " Wu Senior admonished in a low voice, trying to stop Wu Xiaoxiao from grumbling further.
"I. . ."
Wu Xiaoxiao's face was full of grievance. She wanted to retort to Wu Senior, but she swallowed her words back down.
"Heh heh, you don't need to feel too much pressure. I haven't demanded that you memorize everything in these books in a short time; you can take your time."
Yang Haoran said with a smile, then turned his gaze to Wu Senior and continued.
"However, Uncle Wu, you're different. Because you'll be the manager, you absolutely must know more than Xiaoxiao. If you don't know enough, my business will be very difficult to get off the ground,"
