<r>The voice came from beside Er Lengzi. The person who had suddenly spoken and grabbed Er Lengzi was none other than the beautiful woman seated next to him.
<r>Reminded in such a way by the beauty beside him, the terror in Er Lengzi's heart didn't subside; instead, it intensified.
<r>However, the woman's warning wasn't entirely ineffective. At the very least, it stopped Er Lengzi from continuing to scream.
<r>"If you don't want to die, be quiet. " These words struck Er Lengzi deeply. Although he didn't understand what was happening, his strong will to survive forced him to quiet down.
<r>"Sit down, quickly!"
<r>The woman's warning sounded again. Before Er Lengzi could even react, a force yanked him back into his seat.
<r>Although music played in the bar, Er Lengzi's scream just now had been quite loud, attracting many glances.
<r>
"You'd best not look."
<r>The woman's warning came from beside him, but it seemed to be a moment too late. Her reminder had barely left her lips when Er Lengzi had already turned his head. m. i. c
<r>The booth they occupied was in a corner of the bar, a special spot from which a slight turn of the head allowed one to take in most of the bar's interior.
<r>Precisely because of this, when Er Lengzi turned his head, he witnessed a horrifying scene.
<r>Unbeknownst to him, the bar's lights had turned green. This wasn't the kind of green that implied one had been cuckolded; rather, it was a ghastly, eerie green, imbued with a terrifying aura. Under this pallid green light, one's very soul seemed to shiver!
<r>Under the ghastly green light were ghastly green faces. Whether it was the servers or the few customers, their faces had all turned a bizarre and chilling green. Blood continuously seeped from the corners of their eyes, their nostrils, and the corners of their mouths. Under the glow of the eerie green light, they looked horrifying in an indescribable way.
<r>Yet, for Er Lengzi, this wasn't the most terrifying part. The most terrifying thing was that all these people were staring directly at him, their gazes lifeless, as if a host of soulless puppets were watching him.
<r>Er Lengzi was utterly petrified, a chill so profound it was impossible to describe shot from the soles of his feet straight to his scalp. The drunkenness that had previously consumed him vanished completely, replaced by an overwhelming tide of fear.
<r>Recalling how he had just been wandering around the bar looking for a "target," even getting into a conflict with a table of people, he had at the time, fueled by alcohol, thought nothing of it, ready to confront whatever came his way. Now, looking back, a shiver ran through him, and he felt as though he had stepped with one foot into the gates of hell!
<r>The intense fear in his heart caused his entire body to tremble, and his lips continuously quivered. He mechanically turned his head to look at the woman sitting beside him.
<r>"I told you not to look back, but you wouldn't listen. You brought this upon yourself," the woman said, glancing at Er Lengzi and lowering her voice.
<r>Er Lengzi was in no mood to bother with any of that now, nor did he have the mind to speculate why a perfectly normal bar had turned into such a ghostly, eerie sight. His mind was now consumed by a single thought: to find a way to get out of here, the farther the better!
<r>"Now. . . now what do we do?"
<r>Er Lengzi now placed all his hope on the woman beside him. Faced with this situation, he was utterly bewildered with fear, but the woman remained remarkably calm. Her composure offered him a glimmer of hope in his despair.
<r>He believed the woman must be an extraordinary individual; otherwise, it would be impossible for her to remain unflustered in such circumstances.
<r>Forget about a woman, even a rough, unrefined man would likely be scared out of his wits in this situation. Yet, the beauty beside him not only remained composed but even had the leisure to warn him. If she didn't possess a certain level of skill, her inner fear would likely be far more intense than his, and she wouldn't be concerned about his life or death.
<r>"Don't make a sound. Just follow me in a moment! " the woman said, lowering her voice to Er Lengzi.
<r>How could Er Lengzi dare utter a single word of dissent? At this moment, the woman was his lifeline. Whether he would survive the night depended entirely on her. Naturally, he harbored not the slightest dissatisfaction or doubt regarding her demands.
<r>"Let's go now, please, take me away right now. I. . . I don't want to stay here for another second," Er Lengzi pleaded, also lowering his voice, his expression terrified, his body trembling, and his tone filled with entreaty.
<r>"It's not time yet. Wait a little longer."
<r>The woman didn't immediately move because of Er Lengzi's plea. She remained in her seat, not moving an inch, as if she were waiting for something.
<r>Er Lengzi's heart was burning with anxiety. Every second he stayed here, he felt his inner fear intensify. If this situation didn't ease, he worried he might pass out from the unbearable terror.
<r>Though consumed by terror, since the woman wasn't leaving, Er Lengzi didn't have the courage to leave on his own. He could only continue to wait, sitting on pins and needles, filled with dread.
<r>The bloodied finger he had thrown on the ground was still there. The two full glasses on the table, at some point, had turned into two cups of viscous liquid.
<r>Due to the lighting, he couldn't discern the color of the liquid in the cups, but Er Lengzi could smell the strong, metallic scent of blood emanating from them. So, even without seeing the color, he was certain that the liquid in the cups must be blood.
<r>Recalling the moment he had picked up the glass and drunk from it, Er Lengzi felt both fear and an overwhelming sense of nausea. He wasn't some blood-drinking monster; any normal person, upon realizing they had just drunk fresh blood mistaking it for beer, would surely feel sick to their stomach.
<r>Under this intense torment, Er Lengzi felt every second stretch into a year. He was restless, daring only to keep his head down, not daring to look up or glance around. By doing so, he wouldn't see the terrifying scenes, and his fear would lessen slightly.
<r>However, just then, someone gently patted his shoulder.
<r>"Handsome, are you alright? Do you need any help?"
<r>Er Lengzi's body violently shuddered, as if he had been suddenly electrocuted. The voice was eerie, hollow, and soulless to his ears. Already terrified, Er Lengzi finally collapsed at this moment, directly wetting himself out of fear.
<r>He didn't know what to do, nor how to reply. His mind was a complete blank, and apart from his body constantly trembling, he had no other reaction.
<r>However, at that moment, the woman beside him spoke again, lowering her voice once more.
<r>"The person standing next to you is a server. Tell him you're fine, and then we'll pay and leave. Try to act as normal as possible, and whatever you do, don't show any tell-tale signs. Otherwise, we probably won't be able to leave."
