Chapter 550: A New Home

There were two barriers in the valley, both set up using formation flags. One of these barriers remained intact, its formation flags undamaged, while the other had been broken previously.

<r>

The broken barrier had not reformed. In Yang Haoran’s estimation, the formation flags must have been damaged, preventing the barrier from reforming after its collapse. As for the extent of the damage to that set of formation flags, Yang Haoran had no way of knowing.

<r>

Although he didn't know the hidden location of the formation flags, as long as he had the array disk for this formation, finding the flags wouldn't be difficult. And the array disk for this formation should be among Pharmacist Feng Laotou’s belongings.

<r>

Yang Haoran had considered collecting this damaged set of formation flags. He could find a way to repair them and use them, and even if he didn't need them himself, he could give them away or sell them.

<r>

However, he ultimately decided against it, because he didn't want to disturb Pharmacist Feng Laotou’s belongings. Although Pharmacist Feng Laotou’s belongings were currently in his independent space, they were only temporarily with him; these things belonged to Feng Xiao.

<r>

Moreover, he just wanted to leave this place quickly now; he didn't want to linger here.

<r>

Anyway, it was just a damaged set of formation flags. It would be best to get them, of course, but if for some reason he couldn't or didn't want to, Yang Haoran wasn't going to dwell on it. Let them go with the wind.

<r>

The large fire in the valley was completely extinguished thanks to Yang Haoran's intervention. Though the blaze was gone, the valley had been charred to bits, its former lush greenery replaced by the devastation of the fire, a scene of blackened ruin.

<r>

Feng Xiao watched this scene, her expression mournful, her mood heavy.

<r>

"Don't worry, when you return here next time, you'll see those familiar scenes from your memories," Yang Haoran comforted her.

<r>

Feng Xiao nodded. Yang Haoran said nothing more, ripping through space and taking Feng Xiao away from the place.

<r>

After leaving the valley, Yang Haoran breathed a sigh of relief. He was very glad no new complications had arisen. If anyone else had arrived in the valley before their departure, it would surely have led to more trouble.

<r>

After all, several people had died in today's battle. The deaths of the two Exorcist brothers weren't much of an issue, as Exorcists had no unified organization, but the Black Talisman Master was a different story. He was one of the few Black Talisman Masters in Qingshan City, and his status was quite high. With his death, the Qingshan City Talisman Order would not only be shaken but would certainly not let the matter rest.

<r>

Although the Black Talisman Master had ultimately died at Pharmacist Feng Laotou’s hands, Yang Haoran couldn't completely extricate himself. Once the Qingshan City Talisman Order learned of his involvement, disputes would be inevitable, and it might even lead to a full-blown confrontation.

<r>

It wasn't that Yang Haoran was afraid; he simply found it bothersome. He didn't want to waste time on such matters, which was precisely why he was so eager to leave the valley.

<r>

Fortunately, his worries didn't materialize. He successfully left the valley. As long as he wasn't caught on the spot, even if the Talisman Order were to discover his involvement through clues later and come seeking accountability, he could simply act shamelessly, and it was even highly probable he would turn around and blame them.

<r>

Yang Haoran’s concerns weren't unfounded. Shortly after he left the valley with Feng Xiao, people did arrive and discovered that a great battle had taken place there. However, none of that concerned him anymore.

<r>

Back in Lecheng, a smile involuntarily bloomed on Yang Haoran’s face. Doing things on someone else's territory always felt uneasy, but it was different on his own. In Lecheng, he was now something of a local boss.

<r>

When Yang Haoran returned to the villa, Xiujuan was a little puzzled to see him bring back a grimy young girl.

<r>

Though puzzled, she didn't ask further questions, and Yang Haoran offered no explanations.

<r>

As for everyone else, they weren't at the villa; even Xiao Kang had gone to school.

<r>

Yang Haoran first personally led Feng Xiao to choose a room in the villa, then asked Xiujuan to help organize it. He also handed all of Pharmacist Feng Laotou’s belongings, excluding the medicinal ingredients, over to Feng Xiao.

<r>

"Wash up first. In a little while, I'll take you to another place."

<r>

After giving instructions to Feng Xiao, Yang Haoran turned his gaze to Xiujuan and said, "Stay here and help her. Many of the things here, she likely won't know how to use."

<r>

"Yes, Soul Transporter! " Xiujuan quickly responded with respect. She didn't ask a single question she shouldn't have.

<r>

Seeing that Feng Xiao was a little shy, Yang Haoran smiled at her before leaving and said, "Everyone here is family. You don't need to be afraid or worried. Once I've handled some important matters, I'll let you all get acquainted."

<r>

With those words, Feng Xiao finally relaxed a little.

<r>

After giving his instructions, Yang Haoran immediately returned to his own room. He rushed back, of course, not to check the medicinal ingredients in his independent space—after all, he understood nothing about them. The reason he had taken the medicinal ingredients out of Feng Xiao’s room earlier was simply that there was a considerable quantity, and if they were all left in the room, it would have become a chaotic mess.

<r>

He rushed back to his room simply because he wanted to take a good shower and change into clean clothes.

<r>

The great battle in the valley hadn't caused him any harm or gotten him dirty, but he still felt it would be much more comfortable to wash himself.

<r>

Without taking too long, Yang Haoran emerged from his bedroom and waited outside Feng Xiao’s room. Soon after, Xiujuan opened the door, and Feng Xiao stepped out of the room.

<r>

The clean Feng Xiao was a refreshing sight. The young girl was quite beautiful, with fair skin, though her clothes were plain and somewhat small for her.

<r>

Feng Xiao greeted Yang Haoran, looking a little self-conscious, clearly still unaccustomed to her surroundings.

<r>

Xiujuan, meanwhile, quickly bowed to Yang Haoran, her demeanor respectful.

<r>

"Xiujuan, the rooms that the four people stayed in during the New Year can be cleared out. They won't be living here anymore."

<r>

Xiujuan felt a twinge of doubt, but she didn't ask anything further, quickly nodding in affirmation. As for who Yang Haoran was referring to as "the four," Xiujuan naturally understood.

<r>

The four people Yang Haoran spoke of were, naturally, the quartet currently out on business. Before the New Year, they had been temporarily settled in this villa by Yang Haoran, but now that the new villa was complete, he would move them there.

<r>

Anyway, the four had only just put on their Skins and didn't have many possessions at the time, so even if they hadn't returned yet, there wouldn't be any problem with Xiujuan tidying their rooms.

<r>

Of course, even if there genuinely were things they had left behind in the rooms, Yang Haoran trusted that Xiujuan wouldn't destroy or secretly keep them. She would surely hand them over to him, and he could then return them to the four people.

<r>

Xiujuan went to tidy the four people's rooms as Yang Haoran had instructed, while Yang Haoran led Feng Xiao towards the newly built villa.

<r>

Along the way, Feng Xiao couldn't help but exclaim, "Brother Yang, is this where you live? It's so big and grand!"

<r>

Yang Haoran smiled and nodded, saying, "It's where I live, but now it's where you live too. To be precise, this is your new home now. So, do you like it here?"

<r>

Feng Xiao nodded, though her movement was a little strained. Yang Haoran knew she hadn't gotten used to the place yet, so he continued.

<r>

"Moving to a new place will always feel a bit strange, but this feeling won't last too long. Once you truly settle in here, I believe you'll come to like it," Yang Haoran said with a smile.

<r>

Feng Xiao nodded again. She, too, hoped that things would be as Yang Haoran said and that she would truly grow to like it there.

<r>

Arriving outside the new villa’s barrier, Yang Haoran took out the array disk of the Mountain River Grand Array, then activated it, using the disk to imprint a mark on Feng Xiao.

<r>

The mark on Feng Xiao was the same as the marks on Tang Shi and the other two; it allowed her not only to enter the outer barrier of the Mountain River Grand Array but also the barrier leading to the new villa before them.

<r>

Under Yang Haoran’s control, the new villa did not reveal itself, nor did the barrier. All they saw before them was a landscaped lawn and some other vegetation.

<r>

Feng Xiao was no ordinary person, and the valley where she once lived had similar restriction barriers, so she understood what Yang Haoran was doing and knew that everything she saw before her wasn't truly there.

<r>

Led by Yang Haoran, the two stepped into the barrier, their bodies vanishing from sight.

<r>

Upon entering the barrier, the world before them shifted, and a new villa appeared before their eyes.

<r>

Yang Haoran didn't speak. Immediately after entering the barrier, he waved his hand, and a large quantity of medicinal ingredients was retrieved from his independent space.
