Chapter 541: The Cruel Poison Master

Having dealt with the Black Talisman Master, Pharmacist Feng's body, suspended in mid-air, swayed slightly before plummeting downwards. As the Black Talisman Master's last bone hit the ground, he too crashed into the muddy pit below.

Below Pharmacist Feng was originally a lake. Although he had drained all the water, several massive columns of water had fallen back into it, and the lakebed was entirely made of sludge. That was why, falling from such a height, his old bones hadn't shattered.

Meanwhile, seeing the Black Talisman Master dispatched by Pharmacist Feng, Yang Haoran's smile deepened, and his injection of Yin Spirit Power into Remnant Moon likewise increased.

This elderly exorcist, whose strength was only marginally greater than his brother's, was naturally no match for Yang Haoran in a one-on-one fight. Moreover, when he had clashed with Yang Haoran, he was already severely wounded, making him even less likely to be a worthy opponent.

Feeling Remnant Moon's power intensify, coupled with witnessing the Black Talisman Master's gruesome death firsthand, the old exorcist began to panic.

He knew the tide had turned; today's operation was a complete failure, and the primary reason for this failure was Yang Haoran!

They had come prepared today. Without Yang Haoran, this Underworld Official, unexpectedly interfering, they would have been absolutely confident in capturing Pharmacist Feng alive. But Yang Haoran's appearance had changed everything.

Yang Haoran had not only killed his brother but had also caused their entire operation to fail completely. For this Underworld Official, Yang Haoran, his hatred was bone-deep; he wished he could eat his flesh and drink his blood.

Hate was hate, but he wasn't foolish. Through his brief clash with Yang Haoran, he knew he was no match for him at all.

Thus, at this moment, the thought of escape had taken root in his mind.

Yang Haoran saw the panic in the old exorcist's eyes. As he relentlessly attacked with Remnant Moon, he spoke with a smile.

"Heh heh, old man, are you preparing to retreat?"

The old exorcist, straining to fend off Remnant Moon with his bronze mirror, felt his chest tighten upon hearing Yang Haoran's words.

"To tell you the truth, if you kill me, Old Man Feng won't survive either!"

The old man's words caused the smile on Yang Haoran's face to stiffen slightly, and his injection of Yin Spirit Power into Remnant Moon simultaneously diminished a bit.

Seeing this, the old man burst into laughter. Yang Haoran's reaction made him feel as if he had suddenly grasped a lifeline.

"Hahahahaha! I know you're here for Old Man Feng! If he dies! Won't you be very disappointed?"

Using Pharmacist Feng as a threat clearly had an effect, and it allowed the old exorcist to see a glimmer of hope for survival.

In that moment, he forgot his hatred, forgot that Yang Haoran had killed his brother, and forgot that Yang Haoran had ruined his plans. His heart was completely filled with the joy of being able to save his life.

"Don't believe him, kill him quickly!"

However, just at this moment, Pharmacist Feng's weak voice came from below. Though faint, it was resolute.

Upon hearing Pharmacist Feng's words, the smile on the old exorcist's face froze, and he glared furiously down at Pharmacist Feng's location!

Pharmacist Feng, at that moment, was struggling to crawl out of the muddy pit. His entire body was covered in virulent poisonous sludge, but the poison seemed to have no effect on him. Perhaps he had already taken an antidote, or for some other reason, but in any case, this potent poison had not harmed him.

His physical weakness had nothing to do with the poison; it was entirely due to the severity of his own injuries.

"Old Man Feng! Do you even know what you're saying! You've been hit by my Soul-Extinguishing Curse! If you don't find someone to remove the curse within a day! You're dead for sure! I'm not the only one in this world who knows the Soul-Extinguishing Curse! But can you guarantee you'll find someone who understands this curse to lift it for you within a day? !"

Overcome with intense emotion, the old exorcist roared directly at Pharmacist Feng below.

He had just managed to cling to a lifeline. If Pharmacist Feng were to forcefully sever it, he would be doomed. Thus, his emotions ran high, consumed by urgency.

"Bullshit! You think you're the only one who knows this Soul-Extinguishing Curse? I know it too! " Pharmacist Feng cursed at the old exorcist. As his words fell, he turned his gaze to Yang Haoran and continued, "I can probably guess why you're here. You're no doubt seeking medicine from me. Kill him, and I will give you a satisfactory result."

"Don't listen to him! Old Man Feng doesn't understand the Soul-Extinguishing Curse at all! Once I'm dead! If he can't find someone to lift the curse within a day! Not only will his physical body die! His soul will also dissipate! At that point, all your efforts will be for naught!"

Yang Haoran's brow furrowed slightly. He could sense that the old exorcist wasn't lying.

However, he couldn't be certain whether Pharmacist Feng truly understood the Soul-Extinguishing Curse.

If Pharmacist Feng didn't understand the Soul-Extinguishing Curse, and he killed the old exorcist, where would he find someone to lift the curse within a day?

If the curse couldn't be lifted, Pharmacist Feng would definitely kick the bucket!

But if he didn't kill the old exorcist according to Pharmacist Feng's wishes, Pharmacist Feng would certainly be displeased. What good would saving Pharmacist Feng's life do then, with Pharmacist Feng's eccentric temper? Would he be able to get what he wanted from Pharmacist Feng?

Yang Haoran had witnessed Pharmacist Feng's peculiar temper before. If he didn't act according to Pharmacist Feng's desires, it would likely be very difficult for him to obtain anything good from the old man.

In an instant, Yang Haoran weighed the pros and cons in his mind, then made his decision.

With his decision made, his brows unfurrowed, no longer tightly knit, and a smile reappeared on his face.

Seeing Yang Haoran smile, the old exorcist's wrinkled face twitched. For some reason, a bad premonition suddenly arose in his heart.

And indeed, his premonition proved correct, for Yang Haoran's Soul Armament, Remnant Moon, subsequently unleashed a terrifying power.

He was already struggling to fend off Yang Haoran with his bronze mirror. Now, with Remnant Moon suddenly erupting with terrifying power, his magic tool, the bronze mirror, was sent flying, and he himself, unable to withstand such immense force, was repeatedly forced back, spurting a large mouthful of blood.

Yang Haoran didn't seize the opportunity to use Remnant Moon to kill him. Instead, with a wave of his hand, two arm-thick chains appeared from left and right, securely binding the old exorcist before he could even stabilize himself.

Remnant Moon hummed softly, shrinking back to its normal size and slowly revolving by Yang Haoran's side.

As for the old exorcist, seeing himself bound by chains, his face was filled with panic, and he struggled violently. Yet, his struggles had no effect whatsoever; instead, the chains tightened further.

"What are you doing! Let me go at once! If you tie me up, how am I supposed to lift the curse for Old Man Feng? !"

Yang Haoran, a wide smile on his face, didn't respond to the old exorcist. Instead, with a gentle wave of his hand, the old man was instantly struck by a powerful force, his body falling from the air to crash directly in front of Pharmacist Feng.

The old exorcist's body slammed into the sludge, splashing Pharmacist Feng with mud and black poisonous water. However, Pharmacist Feng was already covered in mud from head to toe, so the additional mud and poisonous water caused no discernible change to his appearance, nor did it attract his attention.

Yang Haoran flickered, appearing before Pharmacist Feng. However, his feet did not touch the ground; he avoided the sludge below and the black poisonous water. He floated entirely in the air, a dense aura of Yin Qi rising around him to ward off the noxious fumes pervading the area.

Pharmacist Feng's entire attention was drawn to the exorcist in the mud before him. Yang Haoran's arrival didn't even earn him a glance.

Pharmacist Feng said nothing. He simply grabbed the old exorcist from the mud and hauled him up. The old man coughed violently, expelling some mud and poisonous water from his mouth.

"Antidote! Quickly, give me the antidote! If I die, you won't live either!"

The old exorcist's mud-caked face was a mask of anxiety. Just moments ago, Yang Haoran had thrown him into the mud pit, and several mouthfuls of the virulent black water had consequently choked him.

The old exorcist's threats had no effect whatsoever. Not only did Pharmacist Feng not retrieve the antidote, but he instead wrapped his withered hand around the old exorcist's neck.

"I've always only administered poison; I never undo it. Since you dared to stir up trouble at my doorstep, you should be prepared to die!"

A chilling voice emanated from Pharmacist Feng's mouth, and then, under the old exorcist's disbelieving gaze, his hand tightened, brutally twisting his neck until it snapped!
