Chapter 540 Water and Fire Incompatible
The Black Talisman Master's words did not make Pharmacist Feng change his mind; on the contrary, they solidified his resolve to fight with all his might.
It wasn't that he wanted to fight to the death; it was that he had no choice but to. If he didn't, he knew he would lose even the right to make such a stand.
As Pharmacist Feng's voice fell, the swarm of dark, poisonous insects, under his control, lunged towards the Black Talisman Master high above. Though most of them had no wings, they were incorporeal, and empowered by the Pharmacist's might, the void was as flat ground to them.
Watching the overwhelming army of poisonous insects surge towards him, the Black Talisman Master's expression drastically changed. In his desperation, he hastily unleashed several Ice Talismans towards one of the two giant pythons.
Without a doubt, this giant python was frozen into an ice sculpture by the power of the Ice Talismans, then shattered into ice shards and plummeted from the sky.
However, the other giant python seized this opportunity and bit down.
Faced with this situation, he had no time to ponder, retrieving all the remaining Ice Talismans from his independent space.
To his dismay, only two Ice Talismans remained in his independent space. Judging by the fluctuations of this giant python's power, two Ice Talismans would be hard-pressed to destroy it.
The two Ice Talismans transformed into two streaks of black light, striking the attacking giant python!
The talismans ignited, power erupted, and biting cold air permeated the surroundings. A layer of ice condensed on the giant python's body, but it was very thin.
Though it was just a thin layer of ice, it caused the giant python to pause its movements. And in that fleeting moment of the python's halt, the Black Talisman Master hastily retreated, simultaneously drawing more than a dozen Black Talismans from his independent space.
These talismans were all Fire Talismans, without exception. However, unlike the Fire Talismans his former girlfriend used, all the Fire Talismans he now produced were Black Talismans.
Though both were low-level Fire Talismans, the power of Yellow Talismans and Black Talismans simply wasn't on the same level.
Without Ice Talismans, the Black Talisman Master intended to use Fire Talismans to counter Pharmacist Feng's move. He originally had other talismans that could alleviate his current predicament, but those had all been consumed in previous battles. Now, the talismans remaining in his independent space were few, and these dozen-plus Fire Talismans accounted for more than half of the total.
No sooner had the Fire Talismans been retrieved than a crisp crack echoed from the giant python's location.

With a single sway of its body, the thin layer of ice covering the giant python immediately shattered. The power of the two Ice Talismans was insufficient; not only could they not destroy the python, they couldn't even control it for a moment longer.
Freed from its binds, the giant python once again lunged towards the Black Talisman Master!
Without hesitation, the Black Talisman Master ignited the dozen-plus Fire Talismans under his control, which erupted with dull thuds, transforming into fist-sized fireballs. Five of these fireballs soared to meet the attacking giant python, while the remaining ones dispersed, forming a protective barrier around his body.
Though the giant python was condensed from lake water, these five fireballs did not extinguish upon striking it. Instead, their flames surged, enveloping the entire python in a fiery inferno.
If water is strong, it can extinguish fire. But if water is weak, it not only fails to extinguish the fire but actively fuels it, making the blaze even fiercer.
Such was the current situation: the five fireballs transformed from Fire Talismans completely overpowered the giant python in terms of might. Thus, they did not extinguish but instead engulfed the python.
The giant python let out a pained roar, its body visibly shrinking at a speed perceivable to the naked eye. This was due to the water composing its body being evaporated.
However, even as the giant python's body rapidly evaporated under the intense flames, the resulting mist was equally poisonous.
The Black Talisman Master watched this unfold, his brows furrowed in a grim expression.
If he had a choice, he wouldn't have wanted to use Fire Talismans against the giant python, for he had long since guessed this outcome. Yet, in the current situation, if he didn't use Fire Talismans, he truly couldn't think of any other method that could quickly and effectively deal with the giant python.
The poisonous mist spread outwards, indeed proving troublesome for the Black Talisman Master. For this poisonous mist would infect anyone it touched.
However, compared to the poisonous mist, what troubled him even more were the thousands upon thousands of poisonous insects!
The giant python could be temporarily ignored; in the Black Talisman Master's view, it wouldn't be long before the flames of the Fire Talismans completely evaporated it.
But dealing with thousands upon thousands of poisonous insects was far more troublesome.
The fireballs formed by the Fire Talismans created a protective circle around his body, and this circle blocked out the vast majority of the poisonous insects. However, these insects originally had no life; they were entirely under Pharmacist Feng's control, so they feared no death, charging forward in wave after wave towards the ring of fire.
Most of the poisonous insects were incinerated into poisonous smoke by the fierce flames. Yet, a portion of them still managed to rush into the fire circle, lunging towards him.
Faced with this situation, he could only mobilize the Talisman Spirit Power within his body to clear away these insects. This, while troublesome, also continuously depleted the Talisman Spirit Power within him.
The only thing that brought him relief was that, from the current situation, he should be able to hold on; as long as he endured this wave, Pharmacist Feng shouldn't be able to pull any more tricks.
However, he had still underestimated Pharmacist Feng.
Seeing his methods blocked by the Black Talisman Master, Pharmacist Feng did not hesitate. He retrieved a small bottle of medicinal liquid from his independent space and poured every last drop into his mouth!
The bottle was only thumb-sized, and the medicinal liquid within wasn't much. However, after Pharmacist Feng poured all the medicinal liquid into his mouth, his already weakened body surged with power once more.

A chilling voice emanated from Pharmacist Feng's lips. He then waved his hands, and the entire lake below began to boil. Streaks of black water pillars shot skyward, and in the blink of an eye, all the black water in the lake was completely drained. Around Pharmacist Feng's body, several massive black water pillars materialized.
Under Pharmacist Feng's control, the colossal water pillars plunged downwards with immense force, fiercely smashing into the burning flames below!
Water and fire clashed, evaporating a large quantity of poisonous mist while also dispersing the fierce flames generated by the Black Talisman Master's Fire Talismans. In just a few breaths, all the flames were extinguished.

The giant python lunged, biting at the Black Talisman Master, while masses of poisonous insects simultaneously swarmed him!
The Black Talisman Master's face instantly turned pale. He had originally thought that Pharmacist Feng was already "an arrow at the end of its flight," believing he only needed to hold on a little longer to weather this wave. He never expected such a turn of events.
Facing the giant python's gaping maw, he instinctively thrust out his hands to block. With Talisman Spirit Power imbued onto his body, he actually managed to stop the giant python's gaping maw.
However, he couldn't spare a hand to deal with the densely packed poisonous insects swarming towards him.
His body was instantly covered in various poisonous insects. As there was still a layer of protection on his body, these insects were temporarily unable to harm him.
However, as these poisonous insects rapidly tore and gnawed, the protection on his body grew weaker and fainter. It seemed it wouldn't last much longer before shattering!
