Chapter 344: Talisman Masters Arrive
Everyone carries wounds in their heart, and Yang Haoran was naturally no exception. However, his state of mind was quite good.
The words he had just spoken to the snake demon were not a display of forced bravado; they truly came from his heart. Now, he had genuinely let go completely.
In the next instant, with a muffled sound, these three items were utterly destroyed by Spirit Power, turning into fine dust.
"All the money in that bank card was yours, though. Why did you destroy it too? " the snake demon asked, her face full of bewilderment.
"I'm not interested in money right now," Yang Haoran replied with a smile.
"If you're not interested, you could give it to me! I'm very interested. You can't go shopping without money, you know! " The snake demon's face was etched with regret.
Yang Haoran looked at the snake demon with a hint of amusement. "Last time, you almost lost your life to a Demon Hunter, and it was all because of shopping. What, now that your wound has healed, have you forgotten the pain?"
At the mention of the Demon Hunter, the snake demon's expression immediately shifted. That incident had left a significant shadow over her; even a month later, she still hadn't fully emerged from it.
If Yang Haoran hadn't intervened back then, she wouldn't exist in this world anymore.
Yang Haoran shook his head, responding, "There's no news of him yet. Perhaps he's still recuperating from his injuries, or perhaps he's already left Lecheng."
"What a shame," the snake demon muttered, her expression grim.
"Even if you found him, you wouldn't be able to do anything. Can you even beat him? " Yang Haoran asked with a chuckle.
"I. . . " The snake demon was speechless, unsure how to answer for a moment.
"Go and recuperate. Only when your injuries have fully healed will you have a chance to seek revenge if you encounter him again. Otherwise, he'll still push you to the brink of despair."
With a disgruntled look on her face, the snake demon left the study, while Yang Haoran pulled out his phone and made a call to Old Master Wu.
"Boss, what can I do for you? " Old Wu's voice came through the phone.
"Old Wu, let's move," Yang Haoran said with a smile.
Yang Haoran's sudden pronouncement surprised Old Master Wu. He had brought up the subject of moving to Yang Haoran before, but Yang Haoran had stubbornly refused to leave the sundry shop. Left with no other option, Old Master Wu had simply bought the entire building.
Yet now, Yang Haoran was proactively asking to move, which naturally left Old Master Wu quite bewildered.
"Move? What about the sundry shop? " Old Master Wu voiced the confusion in his heart.
"The sundry shop will close down. I don't plan on opening it again," Yang Haoran said with a smile.
Old Master Wu speculated that something must have happened to Yang Haoran today; otherwise, he wouldn't suddenly make such a decision.
However, he didn't press further, for he knew what to ask and what not to ask.
"Alright. When do you plan to move? " Old Master Wu asked.
"Heh heh, if possible, I'd like to move right now," Yang Haoran chuckled.
Old Master Wu was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected Yang Haoran to be in such a hurry.
His daze lasted only a moment before Old Master Wu responded, "Alright! I'm almost done with things at the temple, and I'll rush back right away!"
After hanging up the phone, Yang Haoran lit another cigarette, his face etched in thought.
The reason he wanted to move was, firstly, because the last trace of obsession in his heart had finally dissipated, making it irrelevant whether the sundry shop stayed open or closed.
Beyond that, there was another crucial reason: living in the city was somewhat inconvenient. If something unexpected were to happen, innocent bystanders would very likely be caught in the crossfire, causing harm to the ordinary people nearby.
While Yang Haoran wasn't a "good person" in the conventional sense, he wasn't the type to ruthlessly harm the innocent. If ordinary people nearby were to suffer due to him, he would certainly feel uneasy.
He hadn't paid much attention to this point before, because he felt his strength was sufficient, and moreover, the Underworld Office was a colossal organization. Besides Spirit Mediums, few other organizations or sects would dare to provoke the Underworld Office.
Therefore, he believed that even if he lived in the city, it wouldn't have much impact on the nearby residents.
However, ever since the incident with the Demon Hunter, he had reconsidered the matter. After much deliberation, he felt it would be better to move away. What if he were to provoke an even stronger enemy in the future, and that enemy came knocking? Then the nearby residents would truly suffer.
In truth, Yang Haoran had already made up his mind. Even if Ren Min hadn't appeared today, he would still have chosen to move. Her appearance merely expedited the process.
Old Master Wu soon rushed back to the sundry shop and found Yang Haoran in the study.
After some discussion, the two decided to move into the villa Old Master Wu had previously prepared for Yang Haoran.
The villa, built on a mountain, was exceedingly quiet and had already been fully furnished. Aside from servants, it contained everything one could wish for, perfectly meeting Yang Haoran's requirements.
After receiving Yang Haoran's consent, Old Master Wu immediately arranged for people to come and assist with the move. The snake demon, for her part, was utterly bewildered. She had only just left Yang Haoran's study when she received news of the impending move, which genuinely surprised her.
In her opinion, Yang Haoran's decision was entirely due to Ren Min. However, she also saw it as a good thing. If they continued to stay at the sundry shop, what if Ren Min came looking for him again someday? They couldn't exactly kill Ren Min, could they?
Of course, if Yang Haoran agreed to it, she wouldn't object in the slightest; in fact, she would be more than happy to do it. After all, for her, killing an ordinary person was as simple as swatting an annoying mosquito.
But would Yang Haoran agree to such a thing?
The snake demon believed Yang Haoran wouldn't do that, nor would he agree to her doing it. So, moving was a good thing. Out of sight, out of mind. She worried that if she met Ren Min again, she wouldn't be able to control herself and might just devour the woman.
As for Xiao Kang, he had no objections whatsoever. Wherever Yang Haoran went, he would follow. In his eyes, besides Xiujuan in the Soul-Gathering Bead, Yang Haoran was his only remaining family.
What Yang Haoran and the others called "moving" was actually quite simple. Since the villa was already fully equipped, they didn't need to take many things with them.
Yang Haoran took his collected books and some items of great significance to him, such as the spirit tablets and portraits of his parents.
Xiao Kang, meanwhile, took his stored clothes and some small toys.
The snake demon took some clothes she had recently bought, along with a few feminine trinkets.
Old Master Wu also took a few items, but not many, as he hadn't brought much with him when he first moved in.
Under Old Master Wu's arrangements, the group left the sundry shop. As for how to deal with the shop, Yang Haoran entrusted it to Old Master Wu, indicating that he could handle it however he saw fit.
They left the sundry shop and moved into the villa on the same day, the entire process taking only a few hours.
The villa was large, but only the four of them — Yang Haoran, the snake demon, Old Master Wu, and Xiao Kang — resided there. Yang Haoran hadn't hired servants, unlike Xu Meijing, because he didn't want to bring harm upon them.
Moving to a new place didn't bother Yang Haoran, the snake demon, or Old Master Wu; only Xiao Kang felt a bit unaccustomed to it.
And so, Yang Haoran completely bid farewell to the sundry shop, settling into a new home.
However, what he hadn't expected was that just a few days after moving into the villa, a group of guests arrived outside: a contingent from the Talisman Order. And the Talisman Master leading them was none other than the Black Talisman Master Yang Haoran had saved back then!
