Chapter 230: Birth (Seven)
The man had thought the middle-aged fat man was merely trying to scare him, but he soon realized his mistake, and it was a profound one.
The shorts he wore were violently ripped away, and panic immediately seized the man. Before he could even speak, a sharp, excruciating pain shot through his lower body.
A horrific scream tore from the man's throat, blood staining the floor. His lower body had been severed at the root.
The man fainted, while the middle-aged fat man stood up and turned his gaze to the woman.
Seeing the middle-aged fat man's gaze fall upon her, the woman, who had been weeping uncontrollably, instantly silenced her sobs. Her body involuntarily shuddered violently as an intense fear spread through her heart.
"Husband, I'm sorry, I was wrong, please forgive me, okay? I'll never dare again, please, please let me go, just pretend I was young and foolish, please let me go, okay?"
The middle-aged fat man remained unmoved. He let out a savage laugh, saying, "Being young and foolish gives you license to do whatever you want? You're an adult now; you should consider the consequences of your actions. Since you dared to do it, you must be prepared to bear the consequences."
"Husband, I was wrong, I was truly wrong! Please, please let me go! Please, please let me go!"
As if deaf to the woman's pleas for mercy, the middle-aged fat man turned to a burly man and instructed, "Cut off her breasts. It's fine if you take your time, I'm not in a hurry, but they must be cut off cleanly."
The woman's face instantly turned ashen. As she screamed for help, her body struggled even more fiercely. Yet, her struggles were utterly useless, only intensifying the terror within her.
"No! Please, no! Don't! Please, don't!"
Blood drenched the bedsheets as the woman's breasts were forcibly severed. Yet, the middle-aged fat man did not return to normal; the smile on his face remained as grotesque and insane as ever.
He looked at a sturdy man behind him, who had remained silent and still, and said, "I'll pay you double, but I expect you to handle this cleanly. I don't want the police knocking on my door."
"Rest assured, Boss Zhong," the sturdy man replied, "we are all businessmen. Although our ventures differ, the essence is much the same. Since we dared to take this job, we certainly have the confidence to handle it well and won't cause you any trouble. If we didn't even have this much capability, we wouldn't be in this line of work."
"Heh heh, your words make me very happy," the middle-aged fat man chuckled.
"Business is all about credibility, and that's something we've always valued greatly," the sturdy man stated.
The middle-aged fat man nodded in satisfaction, then continued to chuckle, "I haven't had enough fun with these two yet, so I'll need you to deliver them to a specific location I'll designate."
Without even thinking, the sturdy man agreed to the middle-aged fat man's request.
"No problem, we can deliver them wherever you want, but it will cost extra," the sturdy man said. "Transporting them to your designated location without anyone knowing isn't a simple matter."
The middle-aged fat man burst into laughter, tears streaming down his face. He said, "Don't worry, money is no issue. Right now, besides my daughter, I only have money left. I only have one daughter, but I have plenty of money."
The middle-aged man didn't inquire about how the sturdy man would handle the matter. After settling the price, he simply left as if nothing had happened.
Returning to the villa, the middle-aged fat man watched Zhong Siyu running towards him from a distance. The madness on his face was replaced by tenderness. He extended his arms to the approaching Zhong Siyu, pulled her into a warm embrace, and lovingly stroked her head.
"Daddy, where did you go? Why are you only just coming back now? " Zhong Siyu asked, her face filled with curiosity.
"Daddy just went to a horse farm, so I was delayed a bit," the middle-aged fat man said with a smile.
"A horse farm? What were you doing there? " Zhong Siyu asked curiously.
"Eleven years ago, Daddy acquired a horse. In Daddy's eyes, it was a rare and magnificent steed. It was beautiful, stunning, and exuded an aura that captivated Daddy completely. So Daddy always cherished it like a treasure, feeding it well and pampering it, reluctant to ride it more than a few times a year. But who would have thought that this horse, unbeknownst to me, had become a wild horse, frequently ridden by different people, wandering around and having fun? Oh, the pain in Daddy's heart is simply indescribable."
Ten-year-old Zhong Siyu, of course, didn't grasp the subtext in the middle-aged fat man's words. She simply, innocently and forthrightly, laughed and said, "That horse really is ungrateful! How dare it make Daddy angry? Tell me where it is, and I'll go sort it out for you!"
The middle-aged fat man burst into laughter. Zhong Siyu's words seemed to greatly please him.
"Yes, indeed, truly an ungrateful beast. But it doesn't matter, it's just a horse, after all. No matter how good it was, it's still just an animal. Without it, Daddy will just get another one, haha."
"That's right, that's right, just get another one! Our family certainly has the means!"
Zhong Siyu had spoken purely and innocently, yet she didn't know that to the middle-aged fat man, her words held another meaning entirely.
For several days in a row, Zhong Siyu didn't see any sign of her mother. This didn't strike her as strange, as it wasn't the first time this had happened; such situations occurred often in the past, so she had long grown accustomed to it.
However, her father's words and actions had been rather unusual these past few days, causing her great confusion and an inexplicable, unspeakable fear to stir within her heart.
She noticed that her father's personality had grown extremely peculiar lately. At times, a chilling, terrifying smile would appear on his face, and he would sometimes mutter incomprehensible words to himself. Often, he would lock himself in his room for an entire day, allowing no one to approach, not even eating.
Sometimes, even the way he looked at her had undergone a drastic change. The former gentleness was gone, replaced by an unsettling, eerie feeling.
From every perspective, she felt that her father's mind was unwell now. He had become both strange and terrifying, completely unlike the father she knew, who had always cherished her as the apple of his eye, always indulged her, and always doted on her.
Today, her father had once again locked himself in his room for the entire day. Occasionally, his laughter would echo from within, and from that laughter, it was clear he was very happy.
However, to her, this laughter was indescribably frightening; it was a pathological frenzy. Aside from on television, she had never heard anyone in real life emit such a laugh, because no normal person would ever laugh like that.
She was very curious about what her father was doing in his room, but the intermittent, frenzied laughter emanating from within made her utterly afraid to approach his door by even half a step. She was scared; her inner fear compelled her to stay far away, not to draw closer.
No one knew what the middle-aged fat man was doing in the room, including the Old Butler and the household servants. They were all unaware, but like Zhong Siyu, their hearts were filled with both confusion and dread.
Late at night, in the profound silence, Zhong Siyu lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she felt deeply uneasy inside.
This home, once so full of warmth and happiness for her, had inexplicably begun to feel alien in the past few days.
Some animals can instinctively sense danger, and sometimes, so can humans. Before something major is about to happen, one's heart is inexplicably filled with negative emotions like anxiety and unease, yet one can't pinpoint the source of these feelings.
This was precisely Zhong Siyu's situation. She couldn't understand where her unease stemmed from, but the disquiet in her heart was undeniably present.
Moreover, as time drew closer to midnight, this inexplicable unease within her only intensified.
The fear in her heart gave her an urge to flee the room, but she dared not, for at that moment, she lacked even the courage to pull back her blanket
In the past, if her father happened to be home, she would have immediately run to find him; with Daddy there, she wouldn't feel afraid. But her father had changed too much in the last few days. Not only did she no longer feel safe in his presence, but she found him even more unsettling and terrifying than the dark night itself.
Zhong Siyu huddled under the covers, her small body wrapped tightly in the blanket, leaving not a single gap.
Her pajamas were already soaked with sweat, and the lack of air made her breathing difficult. She desperately wanted to pull back the blanket and get some air, but she dared not, fearing that the moment she did, she would see a terrifying face, or a horrific scene.
She didn't know how much time had passed, but eventually, she couldn't endure it any longer. Her breathing grew increasingly labored, so she finally lifted a corner of the blanket and cautiously poked her head out.
She was stifling under the blanket. She had to expose her head to get some air, otherwise, she worried she might suffocate to death.
The lights in the bedroom were off. She longed to turn them on, because that would at least dispel some of the fear in her heart.
But she didn't do so, because she was afraid that turning on the lights would draw her father. The thought of the eerie smiles that often appeared on his face lately sent shivers down her spine, so she preferred to face the darkness with the lights off rather than confront her father by turning them on.
Zhong Siyu moved very carefully, not daring to make the slightest sound. Yet, even so, the scene that filled her with extreme dread still appeared. . .
Just as her head barely emerged from the corner of the blanket, in the darkness, a face was right before her. . .
