Chapter 1134: Blind Confidence

Cold Yue and the White-Haired Old Woman, both coveting the Blood-Clad Ghost King Zhong Siyu, clashed directly below Yang Haoran and the others, closer to the ground. In their haste to eliminate each other and claim Zhong Siyu, they even unleashed their Spiritual Arts, summoning their Spirit Aspects. The sheer scale of their confrontation actually overshadowed the battle raging above them between Yang Haoran and the other four Grand Spirit Masters.

Bai Xue saw that both women had set their sights on Zhong Siyu and initially intended to intervene, fearing Zhong Siyu might truly be taken. Yet, to her surprise, the two burst into a fierce fight without a word of warning, escalating in intensity as if determined not to stop until one was dead.

In such a situation, there was no need for Bai Xue to intervene. She merely employed a minor technique, subtly shifting Zhong Siyu's position from afar, to avoid her being caught in the crossfire of their immense battle.

While she was confident in the protective barrier she had placed, believing it could withstand normal collateral damage, if Cold Yue and the White-Haired Old Woman's Spirit Aspects happened to miss their targets and strike Zhong Siyu, the barrier on Zhong Siyu would naturally be overwhelmed. Therefore, for safety, she moved Zhong Siyu's location.

Both the White-Haired Old Woman and Cold Yue paid no mind to Bai Xue's action. Neither of them wished to harm Zhong Siyu either, and besides, Zhong Siyu remained within the sealed barrier even after being moved. Thus, neither woman concerned herself with it, dedicating all their energy to their opponent, eager to swiftly dispatch them and claim Zhong Siyu for themselves.

Yang Haoran actually possessed methods to collect Zhong Siyu, but to do so without causing her any harm would require a bit of time. The Grand Spirit Masters present certainly wouldn't grant him that time, not before, and not now. Therefore, he didn't employ such a method, nor did he even show any intention of doing so.

The life-and-death struggle between Cold Yue and the White-Haired Old Woman captured not only Yang Haoran and Bai Xue's attention but also that of the other four Grand Spirit Masters.

Naturally, Yang Haoran and Bai Xue were delighted by this, as the absence of these two combatants significantly reduced the pressure on them. This was nothing but beneficial to them. The more intensely the White-Haired Old Woman and Cold Yue fought, the greater their advantage. If one of them fell, they would be even happier.

Conversely, Shang Yuanqi and the Crippled Elder's group of four looked grim. Their battle with Yang Haoran had only just begun, and they hadn't even managed to subdue him yet, when their own side erupted in internal conflict, even resorting to their strongest Spiritual Arts. The scale of their fight even overshadowed the four of them besieging Yang Haoran, displaying a posture of not stopping until the other was dead. How could their expressions be anything but displeased? After all, they were allies; Yang Haoran and Bai Xue were the outsiders who needed to be eliminated. To fight amongst themselves before dealing with the outsiders was truly astonishing and infuriating to them.

"Both of you, calm down! Take down Yang Haoran first, then discuss the ownership of the Blood-Clad Ghost King. Fighting now will only. . ."

While launching an assault on Yang Haoran with his Guardian Spirit, the Crippled Elder spoke with a grim face, shouting towards Cold Yue and the White-Haired Old Woman, attempting to make them cease their current actions. However, his words were cut short by Yang Haoran's Soul Armament, Remnant Moon.

The internal strife between the White-Haired Old Woman and Cold Yue was precisely what Yang Haoran desired. He certainly didn't want the Crippled Elder's words to halt their struggle. So, even while being besieged, Yang Haoran manipulated Remnant Moon to attack the Crippled Elder, causing his interruption before he could finish speaking.

Neither the White-Haired Old Woman nor Cold Yue paid any heed to the Crippled Elder, continuing their fierce assault on each other. They believed that the four of them combined could certainly handle Yang Haoran and Bai Xue. After all, not only were all four of them Grand Spirit Masters, but their Guardian Spirits were also powerful, making it perfectly feasible to deal with Yang Haoran and Bai Xue.

Moreover, at this moment, their eyes were red with personal gain, and they simply couldn't listen to any reasoning. All they wanted was to eliminate their opponent.

Seeing that the two completely ignored him, the Crippled Elder felt both helpless and furious, and he unleashed this anger directly upon Yang Haoran.

In truth, the Crippled Elder also didn't believe that Yang Haoran and Bai Xue had the ability to contend with their four-person team. Leaving aside the other three, just considering his own late-stage Grand Spirit Master strength, he felt no fear towards Yang Haoran. He was confident he could easily handle Yang Haoran in a one-on-one fight.

As for Bai Xue, it would be no problem for the other three to deal with her. A mid-stage Grand Spirit Master and two early-stage Grand Spirit Masters—he wouldn't believe it if they couldn't handle Bai Xue.

Although he didn't know Bai Xue's exact strength, in his view, Bai Xue was just Yang Haoran's follower. How powerful could a follower be?

It was these factors that led him, despite his anger and helplessness, to not continue reminding the White-Haired Old Woman and Cold Yue. He decided to first subdue Yang Haoran and Bai Xue, and then find a way to resolve the conflict between the two women.

With his decision made, the Crippled Elder's assault on Yang Haoran immediately grew fiercer, launching a continuous barrage of Spiritual Arts at him.

In addition to the Crippled Elder's relentless attacks on Yang Haoran, Shang Yuanqi also targeted Yang Haoran. There was already animosity between them, and now was the perfect opportunity for revenge, so how could he possibly give it up?

As for the other two Grand Spirit Masters, they focused their attacks on Bai Xue.

"Yang Haoran is mine alone, Shang Yuanqi, you go deal with that demoness!"

The Crippled Elder felt that he alone was sufficient to deal with Yang Haoran, and there was no need for Shang Yuanqi, so he instructed Shang Yuanqi to join the other two in fighting Bai Xue. However, Shang Yuanqi did not accept the Crippled Elder's arrangement and continued his fierce assault on Yang Haoran. Given his intense hatred for Yang Haoran, how could he possibly miss this chance for revenge?

Seeing that Shang Yuanqi was not obeying, the Crippled Elder naturally felt displeased. But he was not Shang Yuanqi's superior; as a fellow Grand Spirit Master, Shang Yuanqi was, in a sense, on the same level as him. He had no right to order Shang Yuanqi to do anything, especially since they weren't on an official mission, but rather conducting private business.

Although he was quite dissatisfied with Shang Yuanqi, the Crippled Elder did not force him. He realized that Yang Haoran, facing their furious combined assault, showed no signs of defeat, which was different from his expectations. So he allowed Shang Yuanqi to continue his fierce attacks on Yang Haoran, reasoning that with Shang Yuanqi's help, he would at least have an easier time.

At this moment, Yang Haoran dared not be careless, employing an endless stream of techniques. Sometimes he would use Ghost Arts for defense, and other times he would control his two Soul Armaments to launch counterattacks. Only by doing so was he able to avoid defeat under the combined assault of the Crippled Elder and Shang Yuanqi.

If Yang Haoran were only facing the Crippled Elder and Shang Yuanqi alone, he would have a much easier time. But with the addition of their Guardian Spirits, the pressure he faced increased considerably. Shang Yuanqi's Guardian Spirit was not much of a threat, but the Crippled Elder's Guardian Spirit was a genuine Ghost King, posing a far greater danger to him.

Bai Xue faced the fierce assault of two Grand Spirit Masters. She first used some moderately powerful Demon Arts. However, as each opponent had a powerful Guardian Spirit, she was effectively facing four adversaries. Because of this, her Demon Arts did not have much effect, failing to gain the upper hand and even being thoroughly suppressed, which made her feel frustrated.

In a fit of pique, Bai Xue simply reverted to her true form and unleashed her full power. Relying on the formidable physical strength of her true body and the abundant Demon Power within her, she forcibly turned the tide of the battle.

Bai Xue's ability to do this stemmed not only from her inherent strength but also from a crucial reason: her Demon Power and the Spirit Medium's Communication Power did not inherently counteract each other. If Communication Power were able to suppress her Demon Power like a Demon Hunter's Star Spirit Power, then recovering from the disadvantage, if not impossible, would certainly have been exceedingly difficult.

Of course, if her Demon Power could suppress Communication Power, then at this moment, she would not merely be turning the tide but would absolutely be able to suppress the two, delivering fatal blows.

Deafening explosions resounded continuously. Ever since the battle truly began, these explosions had never ceased. As time passed, both sides unleashed more and more powerful techniques. After a full hour, both sides had sustained injuries to varying degrees.

Although Yang Haoran's Death God uniform was somewhat tattered at this point, his body had not suffered much harm. While there were some wounds on him, they were merely minor, non-fatal injuries.

Both of Yang Haoran's opponents, the Crippled Elder and Shang Yuanqi, were utterly astonished. Shang Yuanqi was slightly better off, having known for a long time that Yang Haoran was difficult to deal with.

But the Crippled Elder was different. In the past, his knowledge of Yang Haoran was limited to the information provided by their organization. He had never personally fought Yang Haoran, but after clashing with him today, he suddenly realized that the information their organization had gathered about Yang Haoran was far too superficial; Yang Haoran's true strength was much greater than what the records indicated!

According to the documented strength of Yang Haoran, the Crippled Elder had initially believed he could handle Yang Haoran alone, even telling Shang Yuanqi not to interfere in his fight with Yang Haoran because he felt it was unnecessary.

But reality slapped him hard. After an hour, Yang Haoran had not only avoided defeat but also had surprisingly few wounds on his body. And this was even with Shang Yuanqi assisting him. If he hadn't teamed up with Shang Yuanqi, he wondered if he would even be alive at this moment!
