Chapter 1203: A Mountain of Demon Weapons

Ye Zhiqiu had changed a great deal. His old, tattered trench coat was gone, replaced by a brand new set of clothes. His messy long hair had been neatly trimmed at some point, making him look vibrant and energetic. The biggest change, however, was Ye Zhiqiu's expression; no longer did he look as if everyone owed him money. Now, his face was beaming with smiles, radiant and glowing, a world of difference from his former self. These few points weren't the only changes in Ye Zhiqiu; upon closer inspection, one would find many more transformations. But overall, the slovenly uncle he once was had vanished, replaced by a clean, cheerful, and handsome man.

Ye Zhiqiu's taciturn and slovenly image had long been deeply ingrained in Yang Haoran's memory. Witnessing such a monumental transformation in Ye Zhiqiu, the faint smile on Yang Haoran's face momentarily stiffened. At some unknown point, Yang Haoran had developed a habit of always wearing a faint smile. Regardless of whether others were around, that subtle smile rarely faded. For that faint smile to suddenly stiffen was an even rarer occurrence. Yet, at this moment, the drastic change in Ye Zhiqiu caused his smile to freeze instantly.

"Hey, hey, hey, Yang Haoran, what kind of reaction is that?"

Ye Zhiqiu's prompting brought Yang Haoran back to his senses. His frozen expression finally relaxed, then returned to normal.

"Heh heh, my apologies. It seems I've lost my composure. But you can't entirely blame me for such a reaction. Your transformation is too significant not to be surprised by. " Yang Haoran chuckled faintly.

"Tch, never seen anything, have you? " Ye Zhiqiu scoffed dismissively.

Yang Haoran felt that being looked down upon by anyone else wouldn't bother him or cause any emotional fluctuations. But to be scorned by Ye Zhiqiu like this, he genuinely felt a sense of absurdity.

"Lord Emissary Yang, I'm truly grateful for what happened last time. Brother Ye's transformation is also thanks to you, Lord Emissary Yang."

Red Lotus first bowed politely to Yang Haoran, then smiled and thanked him. Both her expression and tone conveyed extreme sincerity.

"Heh heh, Sister-in-law, no need for such ceremony. I don't think Ye Zhiqiu's immense change is my doing; I believe it's yours. But I am genuinely happy for him that he's become like this. Of course, I'm also happy for you, because your soul is very stable and becoming increasingly solid. " Yang Haoran chuckled faintly.

"That's all thanks to you, Lord Emissary Yang. Without your help, my husband and I wouldn't be where we are today. However, I, Red Lotus, can't bear the title of 'Sister-in-law. ' If Lord Emissary Yang doesn't mind, you can just call me Red Lotus. " Red Lotus said with a smile.

"Heh heh, Sister-in-law, you're too polite. Ye Zhiqiu is one of us, and he's older than me, and you're his wife, so it's only right for me to call you 'Sister-in-law'."

At this point, Yang Haoran paused, then immediately changed the subject.

"By the way, where are the others?"

Seeing Yang Haoran change the subject, Red Lotus naturally didn't press the matter further. She thought she'd have to wait for another opportunity to ask Yang Haoran to change the way he addressed her, as she truly felt unworthy of being called 'Sister-in-law' by him.

Upon hearing this, Xiujuan immediately replied,

"Reporting, Lord Emissary. Everyone except Xiaoxiao is out of the villa. Should I call them back now?"

Yang Haoran hesitated, then gently shook his head.

"Since they're not here, let it be. After all, I still have important matters to attend to and can't delay too long. Once I've handled the affairs of Gu Mo City, I'll return and stay for a while, and we can all have a good reunion."

As his words fell, Yang Haoran didn't wait for Xiujuan to speak. With a grand sweep of his hand, a massive pile of weapons crashed to the ground, emitting a continuous clang of metal. In the blink of an eye, they formed a small mountain beside him, a truly spectacular sight.

"This. . . these all seem to be Demon Weapons."

Ye Zhiqiu's face was filled with disbelief. As a Demon Hunter, he was extremely sensitive to Demon Weapons, just as an Underworld Official was to ghosts. Thus, he could sense that the small mountain formed by various weapons before him consisted entirely of Demon Hunter's Demon Weapons.

However, such an immense number of Demon Weapons was truly too shocking; even though he sensed they were all Demon Weapons, he still found it hard to believe.

He reached out and pulled, and a weapon flew into his hand. He lowered his head to examine it; indeed, it was a genuine Demon Weapon, and a two-marked one at that.

"Yang Haoran, where. . . where did you get so many Demon Weapons?"

Ye Zhiqiu stared at Yang Haoran in astonishment, the shock in his heart making his words falter.

"Heh heh, I merely annihilated a Demon Hunter branch, and that's why I was able to acquire so many Demon Weapons."

Yang Haoran spoke with a faint smile, his tone calm, as if recounting a trivial matter.

"Annihilated a Demon Hunter branch?"

Ye Zhiqiu paused, then seemed to realize something, continuing with an astonished expression, "You couldn't have wiped out the Gu Mo City Demon Hunter branch, could you?"

Yang Haoran merely smiled, not directly answering Ye Zhiqiu's question. His reaction, in Ye Zhiqiu's eyes, was an affirmation.

"You rascal. . . you've got guts!"

Ye Zhiqiu looked at him with admiration, giving Yang Haoran a thumbs-up.

What Ye Zhiqiu didn't know was that Yang Haoran hadn't just wiped out the Gu Mo City Demon Hunter branch; nearly all the other factions in Gu Mo City had also been destroyed. Now, apart from the Underworld Office and the Holy Mother Cult, only the Talisman Order remained, existing merely in name.

If he had known this, Ye Zhiqiu's reaction would undoubtedly have been far more intense, and his expression much more spectacular!

From Ye Zhiqiu's reaction, Yang Haoran could tell that Ye Zhiqiu was unaware of the current situation in Gu Mo City, which explained his surprise upon learning of the Demon Hunter branch's demise.

However, Yang Haoran had no intention of elaborating on the matter to Ye Zhiqiu, partly because he lacked the time, and partly because he felt there was no need.

"I know these Demon Weapons are quite useful to you, so when I left Gu Mo City, I took them all with me. If my personal storage space wasn't large enough, there's no way I could have brought so many Demon Weapons back for you all at once. From now on, these Demon Weapons are all yours."

Ye Zhiqiu had long witnessed Yang Haoran's generosity, but he was still startled by Yang Haoran's words this time.

"You're giving them all to me? Do you know how valuable so many Demon Weapons are?"

"Heh heh, no matter how valuable they are, they don't compare to your value in my eyes. Just now you said I'd never seen anything; now I'll return that to you. If you follow me, you'll see plenty more spectacular sights like this in the future. Just be surprised this once, and don't do it again next time."

After speaking, Yang Haoran paid no mind to the still-shocked Ye Zhiqiu. He took out more items from his personal storage space: Soul Pills and Demon Pills, both in considerable quantities.

"Of these Soul Pills, you two each take one, and the rest are for Old Master Wu; he'll know how to handle them. As for these Demon Pills, please give them all to Bai Xue for me."

After making these simple arrangements, Yang Haoran bid farewell to the three and headed to Feng Xiao's alchemy lab. When he emerged from the lab, the spiritual herbs and medicinal liquid formulas in his personal storage space were gone, but he now had hundreds of bottles of various medicines.

He didn't leave the villa immediately. Next, he went to Old Master Wu's bedroom and retrieved the souls and subdued ghosts Old Master Wu had collected during this period.

Since he had communicated with Old Master Wu beforehand, Old Master Wu had already placed the Soul-Gathering Beads containing the souls in his bedroom and informed him of their exact location. That's how Yang Haoran knew where Old Master Wu's collected souls were.

After bidding farewell to Ye Zhiqiu and the two others once more, Yang Haoran put on his large black hat again, wasted no time, and immediately left the villa, heading towards the Ghost Cave where Tang Shi was.
