Chapter 89: The Madman's Limit

Mu Si walked very, very slowly. She covered a distance of less than ten meters in a full half-minute. R:ANOB}Es

The second man, seeing the horrifying spectacle that had just unfolded, pleaded desperately for mercy.

"I truly don't know anything! Really! Really!"

"Ah!" A scream tore through the air, followed by another blossoming flower of flesh and blood.

Yet, it was all in vain. The now-blackened Mu Si merely sought to kill them in the most deranged way possible.

"They're just a bunch of thugs, after all." Bai Mo decided not to be curious about what had just happened; after all, a group of guys like that tying up a woman usually meant only one thing.

"Don't worry, you're last. I'll handle you personally. I won't be as ruthless as she was. If you confess, I can give you and your buddies a swift end right now." Bai Mo said, offering the man with the gold chain a customary smile.

"Why! How can a devil like you still smile in a situation like this?!" The man with the gold chain remained defiant, though his bluster began to reveal a hint of inner trepidation.

"Nearly everyone, to me, is like a high-definition anatomical model. I look at them every day, so I've grown accustomed to it. Perhaps my mind is starting to become a little... abnormal, but what does it matter?" Bai Mo explained with uncharacteristic patience to the man with the gold chain.

Silence fell.

Twenty minutes later

"How's that? Only three left."

Another scream ceased.

"Now there are two."

"Mu Si, give him to me. It's my turn now." With that, Bai Mo used his psionic power to seize one of the thugs whose mind was already starting to fray.

"Last chance. Are you really not going to speak?"

"If my head falls, it's just a bowl-sized scar! I've killed countless people in my life, brought ruin to countless families. This end is simply God's chance to lessen my sins!" Facing death, the man with the gold chain's eyes suddenly radiated a devout light. "I'll be waiting for you in hell!"

"What I seek is eternal life, not what comes after death!"

Bai Mo concentrated, beginning to permeate every corner of the two men's bodies with his psionic power.

After regaining his composure, he told Bai Mo a place name, then had his head exploded, finding ultimate liberation.

"Why challenge the depths of a madman?" Bai Mo remarked with a sigh.

Mu Si, snapping out of her darkened rampage, looked at the scattered remains on the ground, then suddenly stumbled and knelt.

"You were the one killing most gleefully a moment ago, and now you're the one whose legs have gone weak."

Hearing Bai Mo's words, Mu Si propped herself up with her hands, slowly rose to her feet, and then buried her face in her hands, weeping.

"Wuwuwuwu..."

As she wept, her long hair, stained with fresh blood, suddenly billowed as if caught by an unseen wind, and the surrounding Spirit Qi surged towards Mu Si.

Upon seeing this, Bai Mo immediately maximized the precision of his divine sense, meticulously observing every minute change. This was his first time fully witnessing another person's ability transform and their Life Field manifest, a process he felt would be of great help to his own research.

Just as Mu Si's transformation was about to complete, he flicked a drop of the liquid metal-like substance he held in his left hand into her mouth.

"You failed to fulfill your promise to extract the information for me, so you'll serve as a subject for an experiment as compensation!"

After the metallic substance entered Mu Si's mouth, absolutely no reaction occurred; none of the experimental phenomena Bai Mo had envisioned materialized. Disappointed, he began to meticulously scan every corner of the building with his divine sense, while also plundering any liquid assets they kept at their headquarters. After all, murder and arson often lead to golden sashes.

After completing her Life Field transformation, Mu Si's hair abruptly turned snow-white, and an aura of despair so profound it seemed her heart had died enveloped her.

"Right, where are your two partners?"

"Them? They abandoned me and ran!" Mentioning them, Mu Si began to blacken again, her wildly flailing and extending hair instantly impaling the already unidentifiable corpses, tearing them into even more fragmented pieces.

When Bai Mo refocused his attention on Mu Si, he suddenly noticed that many of the seemingly ubiquitous wounds on her body had significantly faded.

"I have a theory."

"Hmm?"

"The substance in my hand seems to have a rapid healing effect on the body. Do you want to try some more?"

"Can I say no?"

"Only if you can defeat me."

"I choose to eat it."

"A wise choice."

Casually swallowing the droplet Bai Mo flicked over, Mu Si carefully assessed her own condition. She then discovered that many of the minor wounds on her body were rapidly healing, their recovery even visible to the naked eye.

"Your theory is correct," Mu Si said excitedly.

Having verified his theory, Bai Mo swallowed all the liquid substance in his hand in one gulp. After about half a minute, he began to notice that the wounds on his body's surface were already starting to close.

"What if I could consume all of the Blood Clan? Would I then possess true immortality?" A thought suddenly flashed through Bai Mo's mind.

"Why not try to resist me? Perhaps the drug causes mind control," Bai Mo said with a smile.

"Only after my transformation did I truly grasp the disparity between us. It's laughable that I once harbored thoughts of scheming against you. You've simply been watching our little farce unfold all along, haven't you?"

"There's a basement downstairs. It seems to hide many things that can't bear the light of day," Bai Mo shifted the topic.

"I was only an peripheral member before this, never really understanding how much darkness was hidden beneath this building."

"One, two, three... eighteen. There are eighteen girls hidden below, all without clothes." Bai Mo deliberately emphasized the word "clothes," and only then did Mu Si realize that she, too, had been stark naked ever since she was untied.

"Never mind. In your eyes, I'm just a human anatomy model anyway, so what difference does it make whether I'm clothed or not?" Mu Si said with an air of nonchalance, continuing to walk.

The two walked to the basement door. The members who had originally guarded it were long since part of the corpse pile above. Mu Si, holding a key she'd retrieved from upstairs, opened the basement door.
