Chapter 831: The Magic Net

"It's almost time. Who, truly, can bring an end to this meaningless cycle of death?"

Not long after Mo Feng Wu departed, three individuals, identical to Bai Mo, emerged from his shadow.

Their only distinction lay in their pupils.

The first Bai Mo possessed dual-pupils of silver.

The second Bai Mo had dual-pupils of white.

The third Bai Mo's dual-pupils were black.

As for the original Bai Mo, his eyes were now closed.

The four Bai Mos exchanged no words. They cooperated with a silent understanding, like a left hand and a right hand, each commencing their respective tasks.

"Good."

The silver-eyed Bai Mo uttered a single word, then soared into the sky, vanishing without a trace.

At this, the blindfolded Bai Mo's form dimmed, as if losing something.

"Evil."

Next, the black-eyed Bai Mo also spoke a single word, flying towards another part of the sky.

The blindfolded Bai Mo's form dimmed once more, his presence becoming somewhat ethereal.

"Nothing."

The white-eyed Bai Mo softly pronounced.

Unlike the other two, he did not ascend. Instead, like a melting wax figure, he slowly permeated the ground beneath him, eventually disappearing completely.

After the third Bai Mo vanished entirely, only the blindfolded Bai Mo remained, his form now almost transparent.

...

The Land of White.

"Did you detect a peculiar signal just now?"

"The System seems to have undergone a subtle change we weren't aware of."

"I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's definitely different."

"Change! Let it all change!"

"..."

A mysterious quantum signal streaked across the Land of White like a meteor.

For hundreds of years, the Holy Progenitors, who believed in the unity of all things, had extended the System's radiance to over a hundred worlds.

Everything, from the grandest to the most minute, operated under the System's directives.

"If my perception isn't mistaken, it looked like a wisp of silver light."

"Something able to bypass the Sky Screen's defenses and crash into this place..."

"Perhaps the System upgraded?"

"Why not just ask it directly?"

After centuries of co-existence, the System in the Land of White had long become an integral part of everyone's lives.

From birth to death.

Indeed, from the very embryonic stage, the System began its companionship. And at the moment one's lifespan concluded, it was the System that handled the death countdown and instantaneous, painless cremation.

Four hundred years had passed, and the Holy Progenitors had already seen two generations cycle through; very few elders remained alive.

This was because those capable of living over four hundred years were, without exception, high-tier cultivators. They rarely chose to remain in the Land of White, typically opting to pay a "redemption fee" and take the special spaceship that departed every ten years for the Empire, seeking a better life.

...

"Boundless Magic Net!!!" In the Imperial Capital, aboard the Zero-class Great Thousand Flagship, Marinjoa, Ke Mo excitedly levitated a peculiar network that somewhat resembled a star map in mid-air, allowing it to expand outwards.

This magnificent construct was the culmination of decades of painstaking effort from him and another True Immortal from the Magic Guild, alongside the immense, countless resources from the Imperial Treasury, provided with Empress Wei Ni Si's full support. It was designed to offer mortals a chance to touch the extraordinary with zero cost.

"Your Majesty, all is ready, save for your Holy Crown," Ke Mo stated to Empress Wei Ni Si, who had arrived upon hearing the news.

The operation of the Boundless Magic Net still required an Immortal Artifact of sufficient caliber to serve as its core.

Even after Ke Mo had ransacked Jierkefu's private treasury, he had not found anything that met the requirements.

Or perhaps, even scouring the entire Empire, there might only be a handful of items deemed worthy.

After all, the Empire's history was still too short. The True Immortals at its apex were all overly "young," without exception still focused on their personal cultivation rather than spending countless efforts forging external objects after their cultivation had stagnated.

This resulted in many True Immortals within the Empire, but very few items that truly deserved the title of "Immortal Artifact."

Most of the so-called "Immortal Artifacts" were essentially just tools conveniently crafted by True Immortals for their own use, not strategic equipment capable of suppressing Qi Luck and serving as the foundation of a nation.

Including the Boundless Magic Net itself, if Ke Mo genuinely wanted to create its core by himself, it would require at least several more centuries, or even a millennium, of accumulation and effort.

He no longer wanted to wait that long.

Though True Immortals possessed eternal lifespans, the Reincarnation Tribulation remained a lingering shadow that could not be cast away.

It was certainly possible to live out one's ten thousand years without undergoing the tribulation, but the price was that one's cultivation would forever remain at the first-stage level, watching as successive generations surpassed them one by one.

How could a heaven-blessed genius, one who had risen from among billions of cultivators, choose such a path of self-imposed stagnation?

"Yisage's Glory, Old Ghoul Gang Duo, I believe if you were still here, for the sake of all beings, you would also make this choice." Wei Ni Si lowered her head slightly, personally removed her crown, and then tossed it into the sky with one hand.

"Fusion, commence!" With an excited expression, Ke Mo controlled the Magic Net, causing it to extend countless tentacles that grasped the crown from all directions.

The ends of the tentacles, intertwined with the crown, began to melt, then gradually merged with the crown itself.

A peculiar power, subtly different from Spirit Energy, surged from the crown at the core, spreading along the tentacles throughout the entire Magic Net.

Supported by this power, the Magic Net began to grow at an extremely rapid pace, simultaneously fading and becoming transparent, disappearing from sight.

However, this disappearance was not a true vanishing, but merely a concealment within the spatial layers.

Watching the tentacled Magic Net and the Holy Crown disappear, another crown silently appeared on Wei Ni Si's head.

This was a replica of "Yisage's Glory"; other than its power being only one-fifth of the original, everything else was identical.

"Fourth-tier Black Magic, Mage's Fist!" Ke Mo softly chanted the incantation. A translucent giant hand materialized from thin air, its five fingers clenching into a fist, and with a powerful, impactful strike, it shattered a target dummy.

"Not bad, largely consistent with traditional spell effects."

"Dark Requiem!" Wei Ni Si also lightly chanted a spell.

After a burst of black smoke, a girl identical to her emerged from the darkness, walking hand-in-hand beside her.

The two, like twins, made it difficult even for Ke Mo to distinguish the main body from the clone for a moment.

"Sixteenth-tier Black Magic, Dark Requiem, can split off a clone with equivalent combat power, effective for twenty-four hours." The two, hand in hand, spoke in unison.

"Impressive, even I could barely tell the difference." Ke Mo had not expected that a mere sixteenth-tier Black Magic could deceive the eyes of a True Immortal like him, even if only momentarily.

"The power of the Boundless Magic Net is truly wondrous, but unfortunately, its limitations are too great, and there's the spell slot restriction. How can I, a dignified sixth-tier Black Mage, only have sixty-four spell slots, and have to re-memorize them after each use..."

As a genius mage painstakingly cultivated by the Luminous Holy Church as a key talent, Wei Ni Si knew thousands of spells. Her initial attacks involved unleashing a barrage of synergistic spells, so the mere sixty-four slots of the Magic Net truly stumped her, who was accustomed to acting with such liberal abandon.

"In the end, this is merely a choice for those with insufficient talent..."
