Chapter 777: Nine Heavens

"Could you give me a little time to consider? Just a moment." Facing over twenty True Immortals observing from the other side, Wei Ni Si appeared somewhat reserved. The usual domineering aura she exuded when dealing with others in the Church was completely absent.

"You have ten seconds." Ji Er Ke Fu seemed rather impatient.

The Divine Terra Empire Crown, transformed from Bai Mo's head, appeared particularly jarring in his eyes. Ji Er Ke Fu constantly felt as though every gem on the crown was an eyeball silently staring at him.

In fact, he wasn't the only one with this thought; others more or less felt the same way, believing this crown was certainly far from ordinary or benign.

With the exception of Wei Ni Si, who knew nothing of it.

Through the communication screen, she also saw the Divine Terra Empire Crown in Bai Mo's hand.

From the first moment she saw it, she was captivated by its magnificent presence, only snapping out of her trance after several seconds.

...

"An 'emperor' in name only." Wei Ni Si understood what she was about to face.

But why was it that so many Immortals, dwelling high above the clouds, were unwilling to personally descend and transform this nominal imperial position into one of true substance?

With great effort, she managed to draw out the few remaining shreds of rationality from the crown's allure to ponder.

Previously in the Federation, the highest position of Speaker had always rotated among the True Immortals, never once falling to those below them.

"Could the problem lie with the other few individuals?"

Within the communication display, there appeared to be presences she didn't recognize.

As the leader of a quasi-superpower within the Federation, Wei Ni Si naturally remembered the images of all the major figures with crystal clarity. Even Bai Mo, who had been virtually erased from the memories of the Federation's middle and lower echelons, she understood quite well.

Only the four non-human-like entities beside him had she never seen before, she mused.

"May I ask who those four are...?"

"From the Land of White, they are the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise Holy Beasts, who will soon join the Empire."

"Thank you."

...

"I agree." After several seconds of thought and analysis, Wei Ni Si came to a conclusion—she actually had no other choice; everything had already been arranged.

The Federation's upper echelons must have struck some deal with the Land of White, causing the Speaker to abdicate and allow her to ascend.

The reason they were willing to disingenuously solicit her opinion was most likely out of consideration for the envoys from the Land of White, not wanting to make things look too unsightly.

Offending one, or possibly more, True Immortals was no laughing matter.

Wei Ni Si still wanted to make a living in the Federation in the future, so even if this choice held an uncertain future, she could only bite the bullet and go along with it.

If she were to lose face with the big shots today, she didn't believe that the Immortal-tier puppet left by Gang Duo in her possession alone would be enough to suppress a genuine Immortal.

"Very good."

Ji Er Ke Fu was still worrying about how he would step down if this Pope refused to become the Emperor of the Divine Terra Empire.

That killing star was still floating before him; threatening them with force wasn't realistic. Luckily, Wei Ni Si was sensible...

"Since this is your decision," Bai Mo's gaze pierced through the screen, landing directly on Wei Ni Si, tens of thousands of miles away.

Their eyes met for an instant.

The female Pope only felt a trace of warmth seep from the corners of her eyes, and the world momentarily turned dark crimson.

She instinctively wiped it gently with her hand.

It wasn't tears; it was blood.

"Is that what an Immortal, reigning over all, is like?" Wei Ni Si wiped away the blood flowing from the corner of her eye, then gently blew a puff of air into her palm, and the blood on her hand dispersed like mist.

Her injury wasn't severe; with her six-tier regenerative abilities, a bleeding eye was a minor issue that would heal within half an hour. Yet, such a desperate disparity left her feeling somewhat helpless.

"Come here." Bai Mo continued to float towards the communication screen's position, until he could almost touch the Spirit Summoning array with his hand.

Immediately after, he extended his right hand, as if in invitation.

Most people were somewhat bewildered, unable to fathom what he was doing. Only a few True Immortals who had passed two tribulations could roughly guess Bai Mo's intent...

Bai Mo's hand continued to extend forward, reaching a position less than a centimeter from the screen, yet still not stopping. He plunged his entire hand into the screen.

Several seconds later, a miracle occurred!

His hand, remarkably, followed the Spirit Summoning art, directly entering the Papal Palace hundreds of thousands of miles away!

To the one-tribulation Immortals present, this scene was undoubtedly like a monkey trying to scoop the moon from the water and actually succeeding.

Martial Path Human Immortal Second Realm, spirit-flesh conversion.

The physical body actively transforms into will, and the Martial Path will then propagates at near-light speed, reassembling into flesh and blood upon reaching its destination, thereby achieving super-high-speed movement.

Among the Immortals present who cultivated the Martial Path, three could achieve similar feats.

...

The Five Immortal Paths – Celestial Immortal, Earth Immortal, Human Immortal, Divine Immortal, and Ghost Immortal – Bai Mo, drawing from his own experience, divided each into six corresponding realms, aligning with the Reincarnation Tribulations.

Those who passed one tribulation could at most cultivate to the first realm of the Five Immortal Paths.

Those who passed two tribulations could theoretically cultivate to the second realm in all five great Immortal Paths.

Those who passed three tribulations could theoretically cultivate to the third realm in all five great Immortal Paths.

...

And so on.

The first, second, and third realms of each path, corresponding to one, two, and three tribulations, belonged to the seventh-stage Myriad-Aspect True Immortals.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth realms of each path, corresponding to four, five, and six tribulations, belonged to the eighth-stage Profound-Glimpse Star Lords.

As for the subsequent seventh, eighth, and ninth realms, Bai Mo himself hadn't cultivated to that level yet; everything was merely his deduction, so naturally, he couldn't provide a reliable definition.

...

The significance of the Reincarnation Tribulation lay in expanding the upper limit of power that each path could contain.

In reality, however, a True Immortal who had passed two tribulations could very well only have reached the second realm in the Human Immortal Path, while their other paths, like Celestial Immortal and Earth Immortal, remained negligible. After all, a cultivator's energy was limited.

Cultivating multiple paths, while enhancing combat power and increasing the success rate of tribulations, also demanded more time and resources.

...

Wei Ni Si stared at the arm that had completely disregarded all the defenses within the Papal Palace, no longer knowing what to say.

Due to the existence of space-ability users, all important buildings were equipped with numerous anti-teleportation arrays to prevent them from directly transmitting inside and raiding.

However, Bai Mo's hand did not linger; it simply grabbed Wei Ni Si, pulled her entirely into the communication array, and then both vanished from the spot.

Just before disappearing, Wei Ni Si suppressed a scream and instead sent a "Everything normal" message to the Papal Palace guards.

...

Approximately five seconds later, a bewildered Wei Ni Si appeared before the True Immortals.

To her astonishment, she realized she had lost five seconds of memory!

"She's here," Bai Mo said, slowly retracting his arm.

"Low-level life reorganization, spirit-flesh conversion. His cultivation in the Martial Path has reached at least the third realm." Yu Po's expression grew even more solemn.

As a Human Immortal in the second realm, specializing in the Martial Path, he knew that he could at most turn himself into light and then revert. But to turn someone else into light and then revert them was absolutely impossible for him.
