Chapter 706: Coal Mountains, Oil Seas

Wu Ming now regretted more and more why he had provoked such a monster.

However, he was already unable to leave the Main God Temple. In fact, one could say it was his very means of achieving Dao; losing the Main God Temple was no different from having his bones pulled from his body. So, even though reason told him it was impossible, Wu Ming had to gamble on that tiny sliver of possibility.

He could clearly see that with just one careless sentence from Bai Mo echoing into the Main God Temple's hall, over thirty Reincarnators fell into confusion, and another ten to twenty with weak wills began cackling maniacally.

The rest were fine, having essentially passed the willpower assessment, but many still felt a moment of dizziness in their brains and couldn't quite recall what had happened.

This was even with the Main God Temple's protection!

...

"Light everywhere." Zu Ma, captain of the Ancient Demon Squad, who had delved deep into Water Blue Star, suddenly felt like a criminal suspect surrounded by police, with searchlights fixed on him from all directions.

"Light that illuminates even shadows out of existence."

Logically, where there was light, there should be shadow. But now, with the entire planet enveloped by an endless source of light, shadows had lost their very place of being.

"Damn it, this completely stifles me." Shadow Fish, the assassin of the Ancient Demon Squad, was forced to reveal his form amidst the overwhelming brilliance.

The ability he had exchanged for was exceptionally unique: he could silently merge with other people's shadows and move as their shadows moved.

Yet at this moment, everything had lost its shadow.

"Drip."

"Drop."

"..."

"What's that sound now?" The Yu Nan Reincarnator Squad, having barely revived from the massive natural gas explosion, seemed to hear yet another ominous sound.

Having revived, they were now completely empty-handed, save for the set of clothes freely given to them by the vampires.

None of the team's original equipment had survived the terrifying impact that rivaled a nuclear explosion, and they themselves had actually been blown to smithereens.

"It sounds like some kind of viscous liquid dripping onto stone."

"Viscous liquid?" Like startled birds, everyone immediately thought of something bad.

"It doesn't smell like anything, so it shouldn't be dangerous, right?"

"No smell, viscous liquid, please don't be black!" the captain frantically muttered in his mind.

Having just been half-killed by petroleum and natural gas, his first thought was of those lingering fossil fuels.

"Ha."

"Haha."

"Hahaha."

"It really is oil, black, seeping out from the rock cracks."

A sharp-eyed comrade discovered this despairing truth.

"Does this count as 'so rich they're dripping oil'?" The captain slumped to the ground, unmoving, abandoning any thought of escape.

Because the crude oil seeping from the rocks, the crude oil slowly flowing from underground to the surface, had already begun to envelop them...

"Let's just wait to die."

"We'll be good men again in a bit."

"So why does this broken planet have countless amounts of oil?"

Knowing they still had nine lives, the Reincarnators of Yu Nan's team simply gave up resisting, uniformly sitting in rows on the ground, quietly watching the situation unfold.

...

Endless crude oil seeped from the ground, flowing everywhere like rivers. The sheer wastefulness of it would make any nation on the former Earth ache with regret.

That was "black gold," after all!

"Since you want to convert the power of your attacks into this planet's fossil energy, then let's play this game to the end."

The principle of the "world" that Bai Mo spoke of was precisely this conversion process.

Wu Ming, the Main God controller who was tied to Water Blue Star by the "world" principle, had originally intended that once they were bound, any of Bai Mo's attacks would be actively converted into some form of energy on this planet. This way, he would essentially be invincible, as Bai Mo's attacks simply wouldn't reach him.

What he hadn't anticipated was Bai Mo's sheer madness, his desire to challenge a planet's maximum capacity for various forms of energy!

"Are you really going to turn this planet into a world of oil?"

Wu Ming, seated high in the Main God Temple's core, was naturally indifferent. But it was a torment for the Reincarnators who had already landed on Water Blue Star, surrounded by gushing oceans of oil. While these oil seas posed little threat to most flying Reincarnators, the black, murky, viscous liquid was incredibly unsettling to behold.

Conversely, Water Blue Star's ordinary people had escaped a calamity because their life essence had been altered by the Main God.

What the Reincarnators worried about even more was the natural gas permeating the air.

Facing this highly flammable and explosive colorless gas, they even slowed their flying movements, fearing that the high temperatures generated by friction with the air would trigger a chain explosion.

If the natural gas, now pervasive and almost indistinguishable from the air, were to explode, and then ignite the oil flowing on the ground, Water Blue Star might very well be incinerated into a desolate wasteland.

"The concentration of natural gas is still rising, and over ten percent of the surface is already covered in oil.

Even if the life on this planet can't die, the horrifying pollution will destroy the entire ecological environment."

"Bastard! I don't want to take over a heavily polluted wasteland world!" Wu Ming, inside the Main God Temple's core, felt an incessant, faint ache in his heart as he watched everything unfolding on Water Blue Star.

"Is this fun?"

Bai Mo's voice pierced through numerous obstructions, once again reaching Wu Ming's ears.

However, this time the Main God Temple's defenses were fully activated, so the only thing Bai Mo could transmit was a pure sound, devoid of any mental influence.

"You call destroying a world 'fun'?!?!"

Wu Ming nearly retorted, but then he remembered his persona at this moment – a taciturn, ruthless robot Main God – so he forcibly held back.

While Reincarnators also enjoyed causing various forms of destruction, it was always for their own benefit. Yet this evil god, in the process of destroying a world, merely asked if it was 'fun.'

"Oil, natural gas... what should I pick next? Coal?" Bai Mo, holding Water Blue Star tightly in his grasp, seemed to be considering an entirely different direction at this moment...

...

"A black sandstorm?" Zu Ma, captain of the Ancient Demon Squad, found that even if he didn't seek trouble, trouble would come knocking on its own.

He had been doing his utmost to avoid the oil seas and gas storms, unwilling to get involved with those ominous things.

Yet, unexpectedly, a black sandstorm enveloped everyone in their Ancient Demon Squad.

"Coal ash?" He casually wiped the black powder from his face and rubbed it between his fingers.

Then, the Ancient Demon Squad witnessed what might be the most spectacular time-reversal miracle of their lives...

The sky-full of coal ash, like flying snow and willow catkins, suddenly began to gather together under the infusion of a mysterious power, reforming into chunks of dark, black coal.

Countless coal chunks rained down like hail, quickly piling up on the ground into mountains of coal.

"A crooked-neck tree would be the perfect complement," Shadow Fish, who had darted out from the tiny shadow of a coal chunk, inexplicably quipped a dark joke.
