Chapter 663: The Wind of All Beginnings
"I'm done."
Lun Heping, with swift and effortless movements, completed the construction of the miniature Interdimensional Gate array right on his family's dining table.
Empowered by the protagonist's Qi Luck, he was, at this moment, as if heaven and earth conspired to aid him, making everything he attempted succeed with remarkably high probability.
For instance, if he were to buy a lottery ticket right now, no matter what numbers he chose, he would certainly win the next drawing.
Unfortunately, Lun Heping was oblivious to this fact. Otherwise, he would have simply bought out the lottery and dismissed all other thoughts.
"......"
"The Wind of All Beginnings." Lun Qin, taking the array disc from her brother with a sigh of resignation, chanted the pre-prepared activation spell.
The incantation wasn't spoken in her usual language but in a rather tongue-twisting dialect.
She was quite vexed. How could she, a transmigrator, be outmaneuvered by her native-born younger brother?
......
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
The hexagram runes, positioned at the top, bottom, left, and right of the array, lit up one after another.
The shimmering runes began to draw power from the Origin Stone at the center of the array.
The trajectory of this world remained undecided; the struggle between the Will of Creation and the Formless Will continued. The Spirit Qi revival was far from beginning, and the rules of the Formless Will still held sway. The manifestation of Spirit-based supernatural powers required a significant cost.
The Origin Stone, capable of supplying an entire city's electricity, could only activate a small summoning array here.
Moreover, this summoning array was merely a primer; the bulk of the true consumption was borne by the other end of the Interdimensional Gate.
After all, they weren't a Reincarnator team with powerful backing, capable of using power without restraint.
......
"Get ready, we're making landfall."
Inside the Star Beacon passage within the inter-spatial layers, a large contingent of Holy Progenitors from the Land of White stood fully prepared, ready to descend upon Water Blue Star.
The Star Beacon, now fully integrated into the Holy Network, had spent nearly two decades constructing a permanent military passage connecting Earth's spatial layer to Water Blue Star's spatial layer.
"First phase objective: After the vanguard forces enter Water Blue Star, select a site to establish an invisible military base and protect the construction of the large Interdimensional Gate and core totem pole."
"Understood!"
"We've trained for so many years, finally a chance for independent combat!"
"Let's finish this quickly so I can go home and play games......"
"All you ever do is slack off."
"Fighting those people from the Sun is more comfortable; you can lie in a control pod all day. I checked the strategy progress a few days ago, it seems we've already taken down nearly a third."
"Someone in the military commentary section complained that the later parts will be increasingly difficult. Our invasion has already provoked the hostility of all Solar Star Spirit tribes."
"What did they call us again? Dark Scourge?"
"Can't remember......"
"The unluckiest ones are those fighting with the Federation; one mission trip on a spaceship lasts several years."
"But the rewards are abundant!"
"What's the use? What you get isn't even yours."
"I heard some people even defected......" one of the junior soldiers whispered, terrified of being overheard.
"What's there to be sensitive about? Earn enough Contribution Points, and you can apply for emigration too. For us One-Tier soldiers, thirty years' worth of Contribution Points should be enough."
"Thirty years......"
As time progressed, the systems within the Land of White were continually adjusted. The initial personal property cap of one million was abolished.
In its place came an increasingly comprehensive Contribution Point system.
Members earned Contribution Points by completing daily tasks and then used these points to acquire everything they needed. However, Contribution Points could only be traded with the system; private buying, selling, lending, or gifting were prohibited. They were essentially akin to experience points.
"Those Six-Tier monsters are even worse off. Just by doing missions, they might not earn enough 'redemption' Contribution Points in two hundred years."
"But they can live for thousands of years, while we can only live for two hundred......"
"......"
"But that person seems to have had a lot of their memories sealed."
"So much data can only be circulated internally. What if it were taken out?"
The internal network of the Land of White had, for the most part, opened up the vast majority of its information to official members. Divine martial arts manuals, which were worth hundreds of millions and impossible to find on the Federation's market, sold for a mere one Contribution Point here.
Of course, for most people, it was meaningless, as they couldn't cultivate them.
Many astonishingly powerful divine arts required equally astonishing aptitudes, and those who were naturally gifted back then wouldn't have chosen to remain on Earth.
In contrast to official members, the Land of White also had a temporary member tier for outsiders.
Many who were unwilling to join, yet had a strong need for certain unique resources, chose to become temporary members.
Temporary members could exchange for needed items at market price, and could also sell various items to the system at market price. Essentially, it was a gigantic trading market.
......
After the Origin Stone's light dimmed, an arm extended from the array.
"Sis, this is......"
"It should be the fellow from the other side of the Interdimensional Gate? Should we give him a hand?" Compared to her less-worldly younger brother, Lun Qin, having lived two lives, was clearly much calmer.
"You... I... I'll do it." Initial fear of the unknown momentarily overwhelmed him, but then Lun Heping immediately realized he was the only man present and couldn't let his sister take the lead.
Lun Heping reached out, his hand trembling as he grasped the part of the arm that looked like a palm.
The touch was cool, entirely unlike a living person's hand.
A terrifying pull suddenly erupted from the arm. He stumbled, nearly dragged backward into the Interdimensional Gate.
"Thanks, little bro."
A scruffy-bearded man, leveraging Lun Heping's pull, struggled out of the Interdimensional Gate.
"This damn gate's opening is just too small; it's hard to even crawl through."
"You are...?" Lun Heping asked first.
"You're not here to meet us?" The man's smile instantly froze, suspecting he might have come to the wrong place.
"Ding! Miniature Interdimensional Gate construction mission complete. 500 Contribution Points awarded. Exchange function unlocked." An ill-timed voice chimed in Lun Qin's ear.
The system for temporary members differed from that of official members. A temporary member's system resided within an item, not within their body.
For example, Lun Qin's system was actually in the earring in her left ear.
"Looks like an outsider." The burly man heard the familiar "ding" and the system's voice, which was more familiar than his own mother's.
"You're... an official employee?"
"Yes, little temporary worker."
