Chapter 329: Disciple of the Red World

"What exactly is your plan?" Hou Zi asked Chen Kedi, who was loitering beside him. "What exactly is that thing?"

Over the past ten-plus days, he had watched the other party wander around Ji Si Ti Si City, occasionally chatting with an ordinary person or two. Not everything they discussed was related to the Red Radiance; it was only mentioned now and then.

The utterly unhurried Chen Kedi was quite perplexing to Hou Zi, who had been eagerly anticipating his moves.

"It is the most crucial force for us to overthrow the three great mountains of this world! The Red Radiance will bring true equality to all humanity!"

"How do you ensure that it brings true equality, and not enslavement for all humanity?"

"It has no self; it is merely a tool created by us to achieve our great goal!"

"As long as it shines upon all humanity, exploiters will cease to exist. All laborers will receive the fairest distribution, instead of having most of their labor expropriated by those parasites, the capital owners!"

"Something's not right." A thought suddenly popped into his head as he watched the inexplicably agitated Chen Kedi.

Hou Zi felt a flicker of unease. At his level, he would typically have a subtle, almost mystical intuition about matters concerning his vital interests.

However, from his observations over the past few days, he had also generally grasped the other party's power level. In a direct confrontation, Chen Kedi was actually not his equal; only his teleportation ability was somewhat troublesome.

But as long as Chen Kedi remained within his red mist, spatial movement was impossible. If it came down to a fight, Chen Kedi alone definitely had no chance of winning, so Hou Zi decided to wait and see.

Just as the two, both in Ji Si Ti Si, were probing each other, the directors behind the scenes began their final exchange.

"Red World, you couldn't wait any longer?"

"After all these years, having finally escaped to a new world, and with you having created such an opportunity, I don't want to wait anymore."

"Suit yourself. I'll continue to wait."

"Now that Spirit Qi exists, we don't have much time left. How long can you keep stalling? The weeds are growing too fast, and you can't clean them up without a trace anymore."

"I still need to wait. Although a few roots have grown too big to manage and have temporarily escaped my net, they won't escape for long."

"I hope you don't end up dying by the hands of those weeds." The entity known as the Red World uttered such a cutting remark.

"Help me clear one of them out, as compensation for borrowing this opportunity from me."

"Alright. Does the Creator have any thoughts?"

"It was the most heavily injured and is still clinging to a child. Don't count on it."

"Then I'll make my move."

...

Inside Feng Buhui's body, the two super-existences completed their information exchange.

"The time has come. Come, join me." Half a day later, Chen Kedi, walking through the red mist, suddenly extended his right hand and muttered to himself at the empty space before him.

Hou Zi, who could monitor every corner covered by the red mist, felt somewhat bewildered. He acutely noticed that Chen Kedi said "join me" instead of "join us," a distinction that immediately put him on alert.

"You're not Chen Kedi, who are you?!"

"My name is the Disciple of the Red World." A voice, as if a blend of countless living beings, resounded throughout Ji Si Ti Si, and a heart-pounding power erupted from the source of the sound.

As this somewhat distorted voice rang out, endless red light began to burst forth from Chen Kedi's body. Streams of red light poured out from his eyes, nostrils, ears, and mouth, as if blood were gushing from his seven orifices.

His face, and indeed various parts of his body, gradually melted, becoming part of the red light, like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea.

The ocean of light expanded madly, occupying the entire city center in a flash. Countless busy people, before they could even react, were enveloped by the red light.

Unexpectedly, however, the red light seemed to have no destructive power. They suffered no harm, merely turning their heads curiously towards the source of the red light.

"Suppress!"

Although Hou Zi had never believed Chen Kedi had any motive to be his enemy, he knew Chen Kedi intended to create a super-monster to deal with that person.

It was necessary to maintain sufficient vigilance against such a monster, so he was not caught off guard. Instead, he instinctively launched a counterattack.

Under his command, vast amounts of red mist began to press towards the red light located in the center of Ji Si Ti Si. The underground rune network also started providing him with an endless supply of power.

After the previous lesson, Hou Zi had put considerable effort into secretly covering Ji Si Ti Si with array formations, turning this land into his home ground.

For a moment, as the red mist furiously flowed, the entire Ji Si Ti Si saw dramatic shifts in the landscape, with sand and stones swirling. However, the city's buildings remained quite stable, fixed by the underground array formations. The long-awaited white sunlight appeared on this land after the red mist dissipated.

Yet, the residents living within had no mind to appreciate the sunlight at this time. Something extraordinary was clearly happening in the city, and their instinct for self-preservation urged them to flee in the direction away from the incident.

The rapidly flowing red mist also stirred the surrounding air, making the central area feel as if a Category 14 hurricane was raging, sweeping up streetlights and trees along the roads.

Not only could ordinary people not even stand steadily, but even cars on the road, if not careful, would be swept to the front lines of the clash between the red light and the red mist, then instantly torn to shreds.

"You can't win!"

With the home-ground advantage, Hou Zi was almost completely suppressing the red light. The red mist surrounded the central red light mass, eroding its existence bit by bit.

Facing such an immense, amorphous enemy, any combat technique seemed pale and ineffective; only pure power suppression held any meaning.

"Insignificant human, you simply do not understand, you do not understand the gap between us."

Even as the mass of red light representing its existence had been compressed to only one-third of its original volume in just over ten minutes, the entity calling itself the Disciple of the Red World still emotionlessly transmitted this message, proclaiming its absolute confidence.

One, two, four, eight... Whether they remained in the city or had fled to the outskirts, people suddenly saw a ball of red light emerge above their heads. Some were as small as fireflies, while others were as large as basketballs.

Without exception, all these light masses flew towards the city center. The red mist was utterly overwhelmed and simply could not stop them, allowing most to continuously impact the encirclement in the city center.

"Chen Kedi, what kind of monster did you unleash? Or rather, was it orchestrating everything from the start, and you were merely an actor?" Looking at the overwhelming tide of light orbs, Hou Zi suddenly felt a faint sense of powerlessness, just like when he faced that person two years ago.
