Chapter 183: Vision

"The people of America are helpless against you; of course I believe it. Flying high into the sky and engaging in guerrilla warfare, if you truly intend to hide, there aren are few who could face you head-on."

"It seems things have gotten quite out of hand over there."

"It was a BOSS-hunting game that rocked the entire American nation. Even with how fractured our intelligence agencies are over there, we could still follow the clues and investigate your affairs," Liu Chen said calmly. "Is it really that fun to make so many people dance like monkeys?"

"It is quite fun. Humans are very interesting toys."

"Aren't you human yourself?" Hearing such deranged remarks, even Liu Chen began to lose his composure. Madness isn't terrifying; what's terrifying is when a madman possesses the power to destroy the world.

"What exactly caused such a drastic change in you over this past year or so?" Liu Chen and his companions had already reviewed all available information on Bai Mo from his birth up until their collaboration. The conclusion they reached was that he had always been a person with normal values, not someone who regarded human lives as mere weeds, as he did now.

"If everyone in your mind appears like a common roadside weed, I don't think many people would feel psychological pressure from cutting down two stalks of grass, even if they knew those two stalks were actually two living human beings."

“The vast majority of people are visual creatures; perception alone determines over eighty percent of their impression. Beautiful, ugly, black skin, yellow skin, white skin – these classifications of people are all based on visual conditions. Destroying something ugly often doesn't make people feel uncomfortable.”

Bai Mo didn't answer directly but offered an analogy.

"So, you mean your ability has altered your vision? In your eyes, others no longer resemble the 'human' image you remember?"

"Something like that."

"I've heard you mention it before, but I didn't realize it had reached this extent."

"So, I hope your people don't come seeking death."

Liu Chen merely smiled, saying nothing more.

"Punish the murderer severely!"

"A life for a life!"

Three days after he dealt with some people who had schemes against him, another group arrived outside the experimental facility, carrying various banners and slogans, intending to cause trouble, with a cameraman trailing behind them.

"Military restricted zone! No approaching!"

The garrison is responsible for guarding the area, seeing this, immediately moved to disperse the troublemakers. When did they become bold enough to cause trouble right in front of the military?

"You, with the camera! Put it down immediately!"

"Stop what you're doing now, or we'll open fire! "The patrolling guards loudly warned. "If you have an issue, resolve it through legal channels. Causing a disturbance won't solve anything. Trespassing in a military restricted zone gives us the right to shoot to kill!"

"Boring." Bai Mo had already received notification when this group approached.

He glanced at them twice, paid them no mind, and continued with his own affairs.

"We were wrong... we're leaving now." As a group of hired professional agitators, they immediately discerned from the fierce glint in the soldiers' eyes that these were entirely different from the security guards they'd encountered while causing trouble at the hospital before; these people would absolutely open fire. They scrambled away, rolling and crawling, as the soldiers began to load their weapons.

As soldiers, the guards didn't want to open fire on this unarmed group until the last moment, so they carefully slowed down their reloading, giving these people one last chance. Bai Mo saw all of this, but he said nothing.

"What a rotten idea you guys came up with! To actually send those agitators to storm a military restricted zone? Do you really think that by governing through disturbance, any problem can be solved by making a big fuss?" Inside the Special Combat Department building, several people were arguing fiercely.

"Isn't it obvious? I don't see any other good way to deal with that guy... Making a big fuss has always been the infallible solution to problems, hasn't it? Once a fuss is made, the public pays attention, and public pressure will definitely force them to back down."

"Whether it can be solved depends on the nature of the problem! What you did was pure suicide!"

"That stubborn turtle truly is difficult to handle. He has no real ability, yet he just nests in the military restricted zone all day long, and all the core hardware of the Contribution Points system is installed inside... Forcing our way in would be tantamount to declaring war on the military."

"Why think so much? We gained our status through our fists. When there's a problem, why use our brains like those weaklings instead of acting?" a burly man, all muscles and sinews, shouted loudly.

"The military's current representative is Chen Bo, one of our Special Combat Department's three giants. Declaring war on the military, both publicly and privately, means going up against him. Are you sure you want to reason with him using your fists?"

According to the arrangements made before the civil war, the former Dragon Group, along with the masters recruited during the martial arts tournament, and finally, the military's Ability Users, jointly formed the colossal Special Combat Department, responsible for all Ability User-related affairs except research.

And due to the complexity of its personnel, even though the overall direction belonged to one of the internal three giants, the organization was still divided into countless smaller factions.

Ye Zi, representing the former Dao Academy faction; Chen Bo, representing the military faction; and Black Crow, representing the recruited individuals – these three formed a three-way standoff, leading countless smaller factions below them.

As for the utterly obscure Bai Mo, he had long been forgotten by the vast majority of people. Many had never even heard the name of this former Dao Academy vice-captain. Only a small handful of people at the top knew the power he had displayed, but they kept silent. This also led many uninformed individuals to target him, believing that he was like a child carrying gold, attracting trouble with his treasure.

"As for Chen Bo... let's just forget it." Although the burly man was also a close-combat master who had entered the Unmelting Realm, he clearly understood that the gap between them was still immense. The other party was a ruthless individual who could fight on all fronts in America; he himself would be in great danger on such a battlefield.

"How infuriating! He actually uses the military as a shield to protect himself! He's clearly trash that can be crushed with one punch, yet he occupies such precious resources..." Several individuals who had no idea what kind of monster they had provoked cursed with venomous words.

"Sister Ye, what do you make of their little tricks?" In the councilor's office, Rong Jingya, as secretary, stood behind Ye Zi, chatting with her.

"If there are people who can't see the situation and are looking for death, then let them be. We won't stop them, nor will we encourage them. Compared to the overall direction of managing the entire nation, this is ultimately a minor matter."

"Black Crow, as an outsider, cannot enter the core circle of power. Bai Mo has abandoned the pursuit of power. Now, my only competitor is Chen Bo," Ye Zi continued, her words betraying no consideration for Cheng Mu and the others.

"How should I break through next..." The surrounding temperature noticeably dropped as she pondered.

Rong Jingya, standing nearby, was already used to this situation. Ye Zi's thoughts were quite erratic, often leaping to unrelated issues, and she seemed capable of accelerating her thinking by absorbing ambient heat. Therefore, large-scale temperature drops were a common occurrence, and as her secretary, she was no longer surprised by them.
