Chapter 1624: The Immeasurable Wall Leaves the Xuanhuang Realm

Chapter 1624: The Immeasurable Wall Leaves the Xuanhuang Realm

The terror of being imprisoned by that unfathomable expert began to subside with her second rebirth.

A long-forgotten joy swelled in Rinsing Moon Bai’s heart upon seeing Li Fan alive and well once more.

Her spirits lifted, she set foot on the path of cultivation again.

It proved that even after a lifetime of aimless drifting, living only a few bewildered months, her cultivation talent had still increased with her rebirth.

An extremely dangerous thought surfaced in her mind. "If that's the case," she mused, "why don't I just end my life immediately after each rebirth? I could rapidly trigger the next life, accumulating cultivation talent until it reaches an unimaginable level. Then, cultivating would be as easy as breathing. Deducing some new method would be a trivial matter, solved in the blink of an eye..."

To be honest, the idea was genuinely tempting.

Over the course of more than twenty cycles of reincarnation, she had profoundly experienced the benefits of outstanding cultivation talent.

The difficulty she faced in her earliest lives was worlds apart from what she experienced in the last twenty.

Even now, she could hardly imagine what cultivation would be like if her talent were to increase another ten, or even a hundred, times.

However, after careful consideration, Rinsing Moon Bai ultimately abandoned this alluring plan.

There was no other reason. At its core, it was because her rebirths were beyond her control.

Each time she died and lost consciousness, she could never be certain if she would truly be revived again.

More importantly, she had no way of knowing how long this cycle of rebirth would last.

"If my rebirths are limited to a certain number—say, fifty or a hundred—and I waste them all on merely stacking my talent without struggling or striving for my future with Fan'er, I will surely come to regret it immensely."

"It's better to be down-to-earth and take it one step at a time. The path ahead is arduous, but it's not yet an impossible dead end."

Rinsing Moon Bai took a deep breath, calming the turmoil in her heart.

"Perhaps if a day comes when I face a situation with absolutely no hope of a breakthrough, I can resort to this method."

Instead of rushing to the Xuanhuang Realm, Rinsing Moon Bai habitually returned to the peak of Jieli Mountain to review the events of her previous life.

"How exactly was that mysterious expert with the golden needle drawn to me?"

"Could it have been one of Ou Shangtian's elders? The classic case of striking down the young one only for the old one to appear?"

She quickly dismissed this speculation.

"If that were true, he should have appeared right after I killed Ou Daozi."

"It seems the fluctuations from the True Immortal Script I used were what attracted him."

"The True Immortal Script is powerful, but it creates far too much of a disturbance..."

Rinsing Moon Bai silently calculated the time between her first use of the True Immortal Script and the appearance of the golden needle expert.

"After using it, I must relocate to a safe position immediately. And for a long time afterward, I cannot use it again."

"Not until I find a way to counter that golden needle wielder."

Rinsing Moon Bai established a firm principle for her future actions.

"I wonder how this mysterious expert's strength compares to the hidden Dharma Spreader Heavenly Venerate. Or perhaps... he *is* the Dharma Spreader?"

"At the end of the last life, did the Immeasurable Wall manage to escape?"

With this question in mind, she paid another visit.

Relying on the familiarity she had built with the Immeasurable Wall over several lifetimes, combined with her own transcendent talent, Rinsing Moon Bai effortlessly regained its trust.

"What is your actual strength now?" Rinsing Moon Bai asked. "Standing before a Sage Lord's gate, you should be able to fend off a True Immortal with ease."

"Hahaha, of course!" the Immeasurable Wall boasted smugly.

Seeing it act this way, Rinsing Moon Bai only fixed it with a more skeptical gaze.

"What's with that look?" the Immeasurable Wall thundered. "When I make a move, how could I possibly fail to stop a mere True Immortal?"

She simply continued to stare, holding her ground.

Slowly, the Immeasurable Wall's bravado deflated. It admitted, somewhat guiltily, "Alright, fine. At my peak, I could indeed suppress a True Immortal with ease. But now..."

"You know what happened. The Immortal World was shattered. To escape the calamity, I was forced to shed my Immortal Realm foundation. Besides..."

The Immeasurable Wall lowered its voice. "I am also suppressing the Dao Palace Sacred Plaque within me. Even though the script has long since departed, its spiritual essence remains. It certainly won't submit to my suppression willingly. So, I have to divert a large portion of my power to contend with it."

"With your talent, you should just focus on your cultivation. Don't go provoking any major figures. Otherwise, I may not be able to save you."

With that statement, Rinsing Moon Bai understood its fate in the previous life.

"Don't worry, I won't do anything so reckless."

"Besides, the one I need to deal with is just a child for now," Rinsing Moon Bai said, her gaze drifting into the distance.

Guanglan Prefecture, Reviving Mountain.

With little effort, Rinsing Moon Bai found Ou Daozi and Ou Shangtian.

At this moment, Ou Shangtian was nothing like the impressive figure she had met in her previous life. In fact, because the immortal bone within him had not yet fully integrated, he was frequently tormented by pain, leaving him exceptionally weak.

Rinsing Moon Bai appeared as a senior cultivator and offered to treat Ou Shangtian's condition.

Although Ou Daozi was skeptical, facing a cultivator whose power far surpassed his own, he had no right to refuse.

She brought Ou Shangtian back into the Immeasurable Wall, and together, they finally managed to extract the immortal bone from his body.

When she returned the newly healthy Ou Shangtian, Ou Daozi was endlessly grateful.

The Immeasurable Wall, however, was in an uproar.

"Well now, look at this."

"You actually managed to get your hands on an immortal bone, and from a True Immortal who was of no low rank in life!"

"It's a good thing there's only a small piece left. Otherwise, I'm not sure I could have suppressed it!"

Having not seen an old acquaintance from the Immortal World in so long, the Immeasurable Wall was unusually excited.

It put in the work, helping Rinsing Moon Bai handle this extremely dangerous immortal bone.

"Remember, do not let your consciousness make any contact with the bone. Though the True Immortal has fallen, death does not mean complete stillness. A remnant of their will is certainly left in the bone. There's no telling if it could possess a new body..."

Rinsing Moon Bai was already aware of the bone's dangers and naturally did not act rashly. She left everything for the Immeasurable Wall to handle.

After being processed and absorbed by the Immeasurable Wall, the immortal bone finally transformed into two shimmering silver characters.

"Turn" and "Predict."

"More True Immortal Script," Rinsing Moon Bai sighed, not sharing the Immeasurable Wall's excitement.

"They're powerful, but I can't use them." A sense of frustration welled up inside her.

"Why the long face?" the Immeasurable Wall asked, noticing her strange mood.

After her explanation, the Immeasurable Wall sounded somewhat disdainful. "I didn't expect you to be even more cautious than I thought. Still, there's no harm in being careful."

"You have a point. The True Immortal Script is indeed a bit too conspicuous. However..."

After a moment of contemplation, countless tentacles extended from the void and began to rewrite the two True Immortal Script characters.

"If they're like me, transformed from immortal to mortal, they naturally won't attract so much attention!" the Immeasurable Wall declared, admiring its handiwork.

Rinsing Moon Bai examined the "Turn" and "Predict" characters modified by the Immeasurable Wall. Though their power was greatly diminished, their core essence remained unchanged.

They still retained the properties of redirecting the trajectory of power and foretelling the manner of one's own death.

"If you're still worried, you can infuse the Dao into objects. Turn these two True Immortal Script characters into artifacts! Under normal circumstances, keep their power below the True Immortal level. If you face a truly critical moment, you can break the seal and reveal their true form," the Immeasurable Wall explained, talking a mile a minute.

"Worthy of standing before a Sage Lord's gate. You really know your stuff," Rinsing Moon Bai praised sincerely.

Transforming immortal to mortal, infusing Dao into objects. These two methods finally gave Rinsing Moon Bai a way to significantly increase her combat strength without attracting the attention of the mysterious golden needle expert.

Detain, Seize, Turn, Predict.

Mastering these four True Immortal Script characters vastly broadened her horizons.

After this, Rinsing Moon Bai settled down within the Immeasurable Wall, focusing on absorbing her gains and striving to deduce the next layer of her new cultivation method.

Unexpectedly, after only fifty years, the Immeasurable Wall grew restless.

"Why has so much time passed with your cultivation still stuck in the same place?"

"At this rate, when will you ever reach the transcendent realm?"

Rinsing Moon Bai was also a bit helpless. "The immortal path is severed, and the Dharma Spreader's way is blocked. I have no choice but to forge a new path. Creating something from nothing is hardly a simple task."

After a moment of silence, the Immeasurable Wall grumbled, "Well, this clearly isn't working. It's too slow, far too slow. The concept behind your new method is terrifyingly ambitious. Even back in the Immortal World, it would have been considered extraordinary, worthy of a Sage Lord's notice. Your talent is high, but it's still not enough to deduce it to perfection."

"Let me think..."

After a long pause, the Immeasurable Wall's single eye swiveled as an idea struck it. "The reason you're forced to create your own new method is that the cultivation path in this realm is suppressed by the Dharma Spreader. As long as the Dharma Spreader's influence exists, you can't see the way forward. Am I right?"

Rinsing Moon Bai nodded.

"In that case, let's just leave this blasted place!" the Immeasurable Wall exclaimed, waving its tentacles in excitement.

"Once we're out of here, those cultivation restrictions will be gone. Then, with my help, you might not even need a hundred years to touch the Mountain and Sea and ascend to the Immortal Realm!"

"Leave... the Xuanhuang Realm?" Hearing the Immeasurable Wall's answer, Rinsing Moon Bai was momentarily stunned.

She had never considered this before. "But isn't it said that the starry sky was shattered, that all worlds besides the Xuanhuang Realm have been destroyed, leaving only a dead silence?"

The Immeasurable Wall scoffed. "Impossible. If the lower realms were truly in such a desolate state, a single cultivation world couldn't possibly sustain itself. When I arrived, I saw it clearly. This place is vast. There must be other pockets of life out there..."

Persuaded by the Immeasurable Wall's words, Rinsing Moon Bai was genuinely moved.

After all, the situation in the Xuanhuang Realm was dire. If she could escape its confines and find a new, pristine land...

"But if it were so easy to leave the Xuanhuang Realm, surely many cultivators would have fled long ago. I've never heard of anything like that before."

The Immeasurable Wall snorted coldly. "How can mortal cultivators compare to one who stood before a Sage Lord's gate? Don't you worry, I can definitely protect you and get you out of this place!"

Seeing the Immeasurable Wall's confident declaration, Rinsing Moon Bai chose to trust it for the time being.

Her only concern was whether her reincarnation ability would still function after leaving the Xuanhuang Realm.

"Worrying is useless. It's better to go out and see. If it really doesn't work, we can always come back." After a fierce internal struggle, Rinsing Moon Bai finally agreed.

After another ten years of preparation, having absorbed enough lifespan from cultivators...

...a brilliant light erupted from the Immeasurable Wall, transforming into a streak of azure silk that soared into the sky.

It ascended to the ninth heaven, its speed astonishingly fast.

In a mere moment, it had already reached the edge of the Xuanhuang Realm.

"How about that? I might not be good at much else, but when it comes to escaping, my skills are second to none."

As it spoke, the Immeasurable Wall had already carried Rinsing Moon Bai completely out of the Xuanhuang Realm.

Watching the point of light that was the Xuanhuang Realm recede into the distance, Rinsing Moon Bai felt a storm of complex emotions rise within her.

There was reluctance, but also a sense of liberation.

Just then...

"Hm? Something's not right!" the Immeasurable Wall suddenly cried out in alarm.

The azure light flared again, its speed increasing by several degrees.

Rinsing Moon Bai keenly sensed that the Immeasurable Wall's flight path had, for some reason, shifted dramatically!

"Is there a True Immortal comprehending the Dao nearby?"

The Immeasurable Wall's surprised voice echoed, yet it held little panic.

It revealed its original form, and a line of characters quietly materialized upon the jade wall.

The formless suction in the surrounding space seemed to vanish in an instant.

Though it had returned to its normal course, the Immeasurable Wall did not slow down.

Instead, it accelerated once more.

Fleeing as if for its very life.

Until two skeletal fingers materialized from the void.

And silently pinched the jade wall.

No matter how hard the Immeasurable Wall struggled, it remained utterly immobilized.

"Insolence! I stood before a Sage Lord's gate! How dare you treat me with such disrespect!"

Even while restrained, the Immeasurable Wall's arrogance did not diminish as it continued to bellow.

Rinsing Moon Bai, inside the wall, was not nearly as optimistic.

"I knew I shouldn't have believed its nonsense!"

After a dizzying spell, she found herself standing upon a field of ruins.

Before her sat a tall skeleton, bound by countless chains.

And it was this being that had caught the Immeasurable Wall!

"Before a Sage Lord's gate..."

"It is but a single tile," the Hunger Immortal chuckled softly.

"A tile? What's wrong with a tile? Was it not still before the Sage Lord's gate? How dare you speak to me like that! Back in the day, countless Immortal Emperors had to be respectful when they saw me..." As if its deepest nerve had been struck, the Immeasurable Wall ignored the vast disparity in power and screamed wildly at the Hunger Immortal.

"Noisy!" The Hunger Immortal tapped a finger on the Immeasurable Wall.

The Immeasurable Wall cried out in pain, its voice immediately quieting, though it continued to curse under its breath.

"Oh? So it's also carrying the Dao Palace Sacred Plaque? No wonder..." After a brief inspection, the Hunger Immortal sounded pleasantly surprised.

As for Rinsing Moon Bai inside the wall, she was but a mere mortal and was naturally ignored.

"That's mine! Don't you dare!"

"I know where you come from! You're nothing but a servant of the Non-Action Immortal! How dare you be so rude to me?"

At these words, the Hunger Immortal's movements froze.
