I Got into School for Nothing - Chapter 46
I Got into School for Nothing (46)
Lesson 11. Apprentice Mage Ban Yuwon - 1
Sunday morning dawned after a Saturday that Professor Yumina spent ranting in shock and fury, like a foreigner tasting spam wrapped in kimchi for the very first time, upon hearing that Rebellion had brought an artifact from the dungeon.
To soothe the shock of being Lost and hold a self-reflection session, Ban Yuwon decided to take the Rebellion members out to Ronica, the external city.
Truthfully, if he hadn't, Light would surely have been torn to shreds by Dokgo Yeon's hands.
"Where are you going? This bug needs to be put through the wringer a bit more."
Of course, Dokgo Yeon herself adamantly refused, insisting that Light's grit needed to be properly tempered. But Ban Yuwon couldn't ignore Light, who was looking at him with desperate eyes, and persuaded Dokgo Yeon.
"It's not good to just make him suffer constantly. Besides, we need to talk about the things we got from the Tower, don't we? Let's go out and get some fresh air."
"I think such leniency will only make this bug rust even more."
"Uh, yeah. You did make a mistake."
The two, who had been Lost earlier than Ban Yuwon and Rucell yesterday, had reportedly given Professor Yumina a brief explanation before immediately holing up in the training room.
Strictly speaking, it was more accurate to say Dokgo Yeon dragged Light into the training room and imprisoned him there.
And since they hadn't returned to their room all day yesterday, it meant they had been confined in the training room all night.
However, Ban Yuwon honestly understood her anger; in some ways, he was even more exasperated than she was.
"To be frank, if it hadn't been for that mistake yesterday, we would've at least reached the 20th room, wouldn't we?"
Because he himself had been Lost along with Rucell in the 19th room, having run out of strength.
The 20th room was Eden, a zone where rewards emerged.
Though he couldn't be certain, the exploration from the 11th room onwards hadn't been easy, so there must have been some kind of reward. To speak a little hastily, one could say they lost that reward because of Light.
"B-But... that was just a mistake."
"A mistake? It seems you still haven't reflected properly."
Dokgo Yeon spoke threateningly and flicked her finger.
Each time she flicked her finger, flames of different colors seemed to spark into existence.
He didn't even want to ask what kind of technique it was.
"No. It was all my fault. I'm sorry, everyone. I got too ahead of myself yesterday."
Perhaps thinking the same as Ban Yuwon, Light abruptly began to reflect.
It was an immediate reaction, showing just how much he'd been put through the wringer last night.
"See? Light is reflecting, so let's just take a short break, okay?"
"...Hmph."
Dokgo Yeon wore a displeased expression but eventually nodded.
"It can't be helped. Instead, I'll have two spoonfuls today."
"Of what?"
"The sweet... jam I made yesterday."
To think she'd negotiate here!
Ban Yuwon thought for a moment, then came to a conclusion that anyone would agree with.
"Alright, then as punishment, we'll just take Light's share today."
"Ah-ah-?!"
Having successfully reached such a dramatic compromise, the group finished their breakfast, got ready, and headed for Ronica.
Now that they were quite well-known, the group decided to wear civilian clothes to avoid attracting attention. Among them, Dokgo Yeon's extravagant black traditional attire was particularly striking.
It was truly a dignified and beautiful outfit, somewhat resembling a hanbok, with a generous cut that subtly revealed her figure when belted at the waist.
"Let's buy your clothes first. Right now."
"I'll look forward to it."
It was a beautiful garment that suited the elegant Dokgo Yeon perfectly, but from the perspective of traveling together, it was frankly cumbersome, and if they weren't careful, it had the drawback of attracting even more attention than their uniforms!
"So, today we'll first buy Dokgo Yeon's clothes... and then we'll get 'mirrors' for everyone."
"Mirrors?"
Light, who had been subdued from being disciplined all night, perked up his ears upon hearing that.
Dokgo Yeon, meanwhile, tilted her head.
"We can receive communications from the Academy with our student IDs, so why do we specifically need to prepare communication devices?"
"Because student IDs don't have a transmitting function. More accurately, it's because we don't have the authority to transmit."
"Transmit? Why do we need such a function...?"
"I don't know that far either. Professor Yumina mentioned it when we had dinner yesterday. She said it would be good to have devices to communicate with each other from a distance. Apparently, most of the other students, being from higher-ranking dimensions, already brought 'mirrors' with them?"
As Ban Yuwon spoke, Dokgo Yeon pondered with an "Hmm," but Light and Rucell's expressions turned a little strange.
"You had dinner alone again yesterday? That person really is a bit strange."
"There's a smell. A blatant... vulgar female scent."
"It's surprising for a beast to utter such words."
"Kyung!"
Dokgo Yeon, after reprimanding Rucell, organized her thoughts and said, "If it were due to our issues with going outside, they would have mentioned it when the club was formed. Does that mean the Academy itself is planning something?"
"I did hear that the Academy has many special activities outside of regular classes."
"Special activities? Ah."
Dokgo Yeon frowned.
"I think they said we wouldn't enter the Tower during weeks with special activities."
"It's strange to send us into the Tower every week in the first place. From now on, they'll probably allocate it appropriately."
Union Academy was founded to enable students to climb the Tower, but precisely for that reason, it never focuses solely on the Tower.
It places great importance on humanities education and character building, sparing no effort in providing all sorts of support to ensure students experience and embrace a variety of things.
Is it not even called an academy that cultivates the gods of the next generation?
It was highly probable that special activities also fell into that category.
"Hmph, I don't like it."
"Calm down. Come on, let's go buy clothes."
"Did you really think I'd be pleased to hear that?"
Ban Yuwon led the grumbling Dokgo Yeon and the others towards the department store.
Unlike Rucell, whose physique was somewhat overly glamorous, Dokgo Yeon had a perfectly balanced, model-like figure—tall and slender, with curves in all the right places.
Aside from the slight eeriness lent by her distinctive cross-shaped pupils, her face was so flawlessly composed that it would be
