Chapter 118-1: Black Wind Attacks (1)

Colorful Mist Coast.

Night fell, and a bright moon hung high.

Several bonfires rose along the beach, and the crowd gradually grew over time.

Many who arrived were players who had struggled all day in the Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range or the Crystal Hall under the sea, now coming to the Colorful Mist Coast to relax.

Under the night, they lay by the beach, gazing up at the brilliant night sky, leisurely eating all kinds of food, chatting and joking with their companions.

Several temporary stalls had also been set up nearby. The stall owners included both humans and alien players, and hawking voices kept sounding in the regional voice channel:

“Roasted crystal crab, 12 points of sacrificial power each, limited to three, first come first served.”

“Freshly squeezed Diamond Fruit juice, 0.2 sacrificial power a cup. Brothers who haven’t tried it, come have a taste, guaranteed satisfaction. Also taking Spiritual Food orders, bring your own ingredients.”

“Gill-Fish race specialty kelp mixed with spirit fish meat, a craft passed down from my ancestors. Everyone who’s tried it says it’s good. Only 5 points of sacrificial power a serving. Friends of the human race, come have a taste.”

“Just caught a Silver-Tail Fish. Is there any master proficient in the Spirit Chef sub-profession nearby? Make me a Spiritual Food that adds permanent attributes, will pay!”

“Been grinding the Crystal Hall for three days and saved up a lot of shrimp meat. Any masters who can cook, please process it for me. Just DM the fee. If the price is right, the job is yours.”

The air was filled with the enticing aroma of food, and many players who had been busy all day were leisurely enjoying the beauty of the moment.

Compared to the darkness and oppression of the Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range, everything at the Colorful Mist Coast felt so relaxed.

For this new map’s opening, the vast majority of players gave a perfect score.

It allowed them, amid tense and thrilling hunts, to occasionally come to the Colorful Mist Coast to relax, enjoy food and scenery.

Meanwhile, warriors of the Gill-Fish race and the Abyssal Mermen sang and danced along the shore, singing ancient songs from their homelands.

Their different bodily structures gave them a vocal range surpassing humans. The unique timbre made their songs ethereal and airy, following the gentle waves to lap at the listeners’ heart strings. At the end of each song, nearby players applauded in support, the scene harmonious and beautiful.

Just then, a player’s shout sounded in the regional voice channel:

“Brothers, there seem to be many ships approaching from the sea.”

Hearing this, players all looked toward the sea, and under the bright moon they saw a fleet approaching the coast.

The foremost ship was shaped like a sea monster. The hull was a giant disk, and a ferocious beast statue stood at the bow, its eyes set with dazzling gems. The hull was covered with eerie runes, the sails woven from some kind of seaweed, swaying lightly in the wind.

The other ships in the fleet were also distinctive. Some were streamlined like sharks, with sharp prows and narrow bodies; some resembled giant turtles, with wide, stable hulls; and some were designed like an island, planted with a large amount of greenery, with several ropes extending from the bow, relying on sea beasts leaping continuously ahead to provide forward power.

At a glance, at least several dozen large ships were sailing toward the shore of the Colorful Mist Coast.

Players lying on the beach all rose to look out, wondering about the purpose of this fleet’s arrival.

At sea.

The night sea wind roared, making the flags on the warships snap and flutter.

“Prepare to land.”

Standing on the lookout tower and gazing at the land drawing nearer, Heiyu spoke in a deep voice.

“leader, there is a group of life-forms on the shore. This is very likely the territory of another race.”

At this moment the white-robed figure standing beside him frowned slightly.

“Try to make contact. If it is confirmed they are weak, leave none alive.”

“Understood.” The white-robed figure nodded, then turned into a phantom and flew to the rear.

After his subordinate left, Heiyu took a deep breath. His eyes flickered uncertainly, and the veins bulged on his clenched fist.

Migrating the entire race was a decision he made out of helplessness.

The Ancient God race had been capturing racial members with increasing frequency. In just the most recent period, several thousand racial members had been taken to a mysterious arena. At this rate, the decline of the Black Wind race would be inevitable.

He had also considered taking the initiative to strike, and in fact he did so.

But that strike nearly buried the entire Black Wind race with it.

A week ago, he had led his people in an ambush on a flying vehicle. The flying vehicle hovered in the air without moving an inch. Then a servant descended from the vehicle, cast a cold glance at them, raised a hand, and slapped the sea. The sea surface was invisibly cut at once, rolling up two monstrous waves.

The terrifying strength made him feel a fear etched into his bones, and made him realize that even if all the race’s warriors attacked together, they could not be a match for this Ancient God servant.

Before leaving, the Ancient God servant seized another batch of racial members and left behind this sentence:

“As the weak, being chosen as arena fighters to entertain the Ancient Gods is your honor.”

This encounter made Heiyu realize that there was an insurmountable gap in strength between the two sides. If even the servant of the Ancient Gods possessed such frightening power, one could imagine how powerful the Ancient Gods behind the servant must be.

Abandoning armed resistance, the only option he could think of was migrating the entire race, to seek a new environment where the Ancient God servant could not find them.

Only thus could they avoid the crisis of racial extinction.

After days of sailing, several islands along the way were occupied by strong races, so he could only detour.

According to the racial sea charts, he ultimately chose the Colorful Mist Coast.

According to the supplementary information attached to the sea charts passed down in the race, the Colorful Mist Coast had once been the territory of a powerful warrior, but that warrior had long since died, and it was now an ownerless land.

He did not expect to come this time and find that a group was already dwelling on the shore.

His idea now was simple: first attempt contact, judge the strength of the shore-dwelling group, and if he found their strength low, then exterminate them to the last and occupy this land.

If the other group proved powerful, he would present specialty resources from Black Wind Island as a meeting gift, then lead the race to change course and seek a new home.

As thoughts surged, the ships drew alongside the shore, their prows lifting.

Once the ships steadied, Heiyu leaped ashore ahead of his racial members, his gaze sweeping over the figures on the beach.

“Is your leader here? The Black Wind leader has come to visit.”

On the coast.

Seeing Heiyu jump ashore from the leading ship, the players all activated their analysis ability.

Relevant introduction information immediately surfaced in their minds.

[Heiyu]

Hunt Level: 53

Target Introduction: Black Wind Island, leader of the Black Wind race, possesses strong land and sea combat capabilities.

Hearing Heiyu ask to see the leader, the players were stunned.

A leader was something they really didn’t have.

Each player was an independent individual, not subject to any hierarchical suppression. They truly could not produce a leader.

Just then, someone suddenly spoke in the voice channel.

“Tch, isn’t this a hidden quest? Just like the Ancient God arena, next they’ll take someone away. Wonder who’s the lucky one this time.”

Players who had been merely curious instantly lost their composure upon hearing this and rushed toward Heiyu.

“I’m the leader of the player race. Brother, what do you need from me?”

“Damn it, I’m the leader. Don’t steal my hidden storyline.”

“Get lost, you jerk. I’m the leader. Out of my way. I’m taking this hidden storyline.”

“Look at me, look at me. They’re all fakes. I’m the leader, genuine, fair to all ages. Ten times compensation if fake.”

Under Heiyu’s puzzled expression, more and more figures crowded around, all claiming they were the leader and the others were impersonators.

They even started scuffling on the beach over it, and the chaos intensified.

It quickly escalated into a brawl of several hundred people, with new figures constantly surfacing from the seabed or walking out of the rainforest to join the melee.

Heiyu: …

The sight left Heiyu dumbfounded.

The thought patterns of this group of life-forms were beyond his comprehension.

He had merely asked who the leader was, and it was as if he had triggered some unknown switch, causing internal strife to erupt within this group.

In the voice channel Heiyu could not hear, things were also a complete mess.

“Hit him. That dog dared hit my brother. Unbelievable.”

“It’s this one, the one who hit me just now. I marked him in the party. Punch him in the face.”

“Think my Godslayer Guild has no one? I’m calling people in the guild channel. Nobody run.”

“Damn, who hit my face? I was just standing here eating melon seeds watching you fight. How did I get punched too? I’m pissed. I’ll bite you.”

Many players had their own circles of friends and family. After being beaten in the chaos, they decisively called people in their guilds or parties.

This made the scene even more chaotic.

Feeling baffled, Heiyu took several steps back in succession, turned to glance at the racial members who were assembling and approaching, then began observing the players’ performance in the brawl.

In the process he discovered that this group’s physical aptitude was not strong. They were all using fists to fight hand-to-hand, seemingly without any special abilities.

After a brief observation, confirming that this group posed no real threat, Heiyu bared his fangs, turned to his racial members, and said in a deep voice.

“Kill. Leave none alive.”
