Chapter 91-3: Utterly Shameless (3) |
On the other side.
As he was seated cross-legged in cultivation, drawing in the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to nourish his body, Elro suddenly opened his eyes and spoke in a deep voice.
“Everyone, open your eyes. I have an idea.”
The racial kin, who had not been sleeping to begin with, all opened their eyes and looked toward Elro.
“If we keep enduring like this, it won’t work. Simply absorbing heaven and earth’s spiritual energy cannot make up for our physical depletion. We should attack their weakness using our advantage.”
As he spoke, Elro swept his gaze over his racial kin.
“Our Poro race’s racial talent allows us to quickly restore mental energy through cultivation. Since they’ve forced a hunger training on us, we’ll give them an additional training course in return.”
A smile appeared at the corner of Elro’s mouth as he continued.
“I’ll make sure they don’t sleep well.”
“Split up and notify the other new recruits from the different races. Tonight, we raid Snow Valley and let them experience true pain.”
—
The night was pitch-black, the training camp shrouded under a heavy curtain of darkness.
The energy lamps hanging on metal poles swayed in the wind, producing creaking sounds at the tips.
Bathed in the faint glow of the auroras overhead, a group of figures merged into the night and moved quickly, heading toward the rest area of the Water Valley Training Camp.
Before long, after circling around the barracks’ fence, the Snow Valley trainees, led by Li Zheng, entered the Water Valley trainees’ rest area.
“Shh, step lightly, we’re here. In a moment, we’ll split into five groups. Kick open the doors and start swinging. The key is surprise.”
At this moment, Li Zheng softly raised his hand to issue the combat plan. The new recruits behind him all came to a stop.
Under the moonlight, one could see the mischievous smiles on their faces, like a bunch of weasels about to steal chickens, barely able to contain their excitement.
After days of brawling, the thought of revenge filled them with satisfaction.
However, just as Li Zheng and the others were about to proceed, they noticed a group of figures quietly sneaking out from the rooms ahead, moving toward the entrance of their camp.
Seeing this, the expressions of Li Zheng and the others turned odd.
At the same time, the shadows rushing over also noticed them and froze on the spot. A familiar voice then called out.
“Who’s there?”
Faced with the familiar voice, Li Zheng and the others instantly understood what was going on.
After a brief silence, Li Zheng let out a loud shout and led the Snow Valley trainees to charge at the Water Valley newcomers.
“Shameless! You’re utterly shameless! Trying to sneak attack us under cover of night? Caught red-handed!”
“Despicable! As reserve warriors, you dare resort to ambushes? Absolutely disgraceful! Luckily we anticipated your vile plot, or you would’ve succeeded!” Ghost Eye cooperatively shouted, cursing them.
“Bastards! Always playing dirty. If you’ve got guts, fight us fair and square. Sneak attacks mean nothing!”
“Exactly! Good thing we sensed you’d try a sneak attack and prepared in advance. Now we’ve caught you in the act. Pah!”
Under the shameless false accusations of Li Zheng and the Grind Kings, the Snow Valley trainees followed suit, playing the victim card loudly while angrily denouncing the Water Valley trainees’ despicable conduct, then charging forward and unleashing heavy punches.
On the other side, the Water Valley trainees quickly understood the situation.
Clearly, both sides had coincidentally come up with the same plan, to sneak attack each other at night and mentally break their opponents, only to bump into one another.
But what infuriated the Water Valley newcomers was.
Everyone was playing dirty, yet the Snow Valley trainees acted all self-righteous, turning the tables to accuse them instead.
The worst part was, this was the Water Valley Training Camp’s territory. The Snow Valley trainees had already infiltrated inside the fence, yet they still dared to claim they had predicted an ambush and were lying in wait.
This level of shamelessness rivaled the sinister player livestock.
Most likely, they had even learned it from the players.
“Beat them!” Elro shouted angrily, then was the first to strike, grabbing a charging Brass race trainee, pinning him to the ground, and punching his face twice with loud thuds.
The all-nighter battle erupted instantly.
Both sides vented their pent-up fury with each swing of their fists, unleashing it on trainees from the opposing camp.
Yet there was a tacit understanding between both sides: whether Snow Valley or Water Valley, even when beaten black and blue, no one cried out in pain.
They were afraid that the noise of a full-blown brawl would wake the instructors sleeping in other areas.
They could stay up without sleep, but if the instructors were disturbed, they would suffer dearly.
Now, all they wanted was to beat their opponents into submission, so neither side was willing to end the fight early.
Even while suppressing the pain, they fought on.
During the melee, more and more trainees collapsed, but whether from Snow Valley or Water Valley, no one attacked the ones on the ground. They simply shifted their focus to those enemies still standing.
Unlike the cafeteria brawls, this fight had no 15-minute time limit.
So both sides had the same thought, knocking down every last one of the enemy meant victory!
—
Dawn.
The first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon, painting the sky red. The snow-covered world swayed on the border of dream and awakening.
In the distance, the snow-capped mountains glistened in golden light as several snowbirds chirped and flew over the training camp, the night’s silence quietly receding as life revived and flourished once more.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The sound of the war drum rang out, morning training time had arrived.
Mad Sand arrived at the training field right on time with three instructors, but as they glanced toward the assembly point, they were stunned.
Not a single trainee was present. Everyone was late.
Mad Sand’s expression immediately turned grim. In his eyes, disobedience to the rules was absolutely intolerable. These trainees had crossed a forbidden line.
No longer able to contain his fury, Mad Sand transformed into a stream of light and shot toward the Snow Valley trainees’ rest area.
Upon landing, he released his perception.
What surprised him was that his perception swept through every room, but not a single trainee was inside.
Confused, he immediately flew into the sky and rushed toward the Water Valley newcomers’ rest area.
A few minutes later, Mad Sand landed in the Water Valley trainees’ rest zone.
When he saw the scene before him, his anger faded, replaced by helplessness.
Both camps’ trainees lay on the ground, beaten black and blue. The scene was utterly tragic. As his gaze swept across them, he couldn’t find a single face left unbruised, every one of them was swollen, some several times over.
This included the strongest from both sides, Elro and Ghost Eye, who even in unconsciousness still had their fists pressed against each other’s faces in mid-strike.
“Ah…”
Mad Sand couldn’t help but sigh.
After so many years managing the Snow Valley Training Camp, this was the first time he had witnessed a training escalation to this degree.
