Chapter 90-3: The Correct Way to Patch Up Weaknesses (3)

Ahem, let’s skip the nonsense and get straight to the point.

I’m sure everyone has struggled with making choices when building your Star Vein combinations…

Choosing a magic-type Star Vein combination means weak defense and poor mobility. Especially when it’s time to run, those short legs simply can’t keep up with the melee Star Vein players. The only advantages are extremely high damage and long-range attack capabilities, making it the strongest version for farming monsters.

But if you choose a melee-type Star Vein combination, you gain defense and mobility, and travel speed is several times faster than with magic-type Inherited Souls. The problem, however, is severely lacking damage output and no way to perform long-range or area-of-effect attacks like magic builds.

Both Star Vein paths have very obvious shortcomings.

So I started thinking: is it possible to combine the advantages of both and compensate for their weaknesses?

I got inspiration for this idea after the Swarm entered the Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range.

There’s a special unit in the Swarm called the Walker Wing Strain. According to Guide’s analysis, this unit is responsible for transporting resources within the Swarm.

While reading the analysis, a thought suddenly struck me.

Why can’t we players create a mount to boost mobility?

Even though the game doesn’t have a mount system, every player has the ability to transform into monster form. In theory, anyone could act as a mount.

Let me describe the battle mode I envisioned.

I chose a magic-type Star Vein build. I ride into battle on my good brother’s back. My good brother switches into Black-Scaled Serpent form (a 13-meter-long black-scaled giant serpent, my bro has been playing monster build since entering the game and has never switched from Black-Scaled Serpent Inherited Soul).

This combination gives us both high offense, mobility, and defense.

With one command from me, my good brother charges across the battlefield while I stand on his head casting spells. I don’t even have to move my feet.

After many tests with my good brother, we’ve found two optimal mount forms:

Black-Scaled Serpent and Roar (bear form).

These two monster forms are perfect as mounts.

Their large bodies mean that when insects jump up, they can only reach my brother’s knees, posing no threat to me sitting up top. Plus, since my brother is constantly moving, it’s not easy for enemies to climb up and kill me.

The Roar form is especially great because of its sonic stun control. My brother locks them down, I handle the kills, the farming efficiency is extremely high.

Here’s a demo video (video attached).

Opening the video, Qi Sheng saw two players standing atop a giant rock, watching the raging insect swarm in the distance.

At that moment, one player turned to his friend and said.

“Let’s begin.”

The other player nodded, then shifted into Black-Scaled Serpent form, his body twisting into a 13-meter-long giant snake. He slithered down from the rock and lowered his head. The first player stepped forward and stood atop the serpent’s head.

“Charge!”

With the command issued, the man and serpent stormed toward the insect swarm.

The Black-Scaled Serpent raised its body, lifting the player five meters above the ground while the player continuously gathered fireballs and hurled them into the swarm.

Whenever the swarm gathered and attacked, the Black-Scaled Serpent would charge and retreat, searching for less crowded areas before lifting its head again, creating a comfortable attack platform for the player on top.

As the poster described, this pairing compensates for the weaknesses of both melee and magic Star Veins, combining high mobility, defense, and incredible DPS efficiency.

At the end of the post, the player concluded:

After watching the demo, I believe everyone now understands how powerful the mount build is.

But no amount of explanation beats firsthand experience. I suggest you all give it a try, if it sucks, feel free to flame me later.

Old Man Who Loves to Spend: I clicked into this thread out of curiosity, and I’m dumbfounded. Bro, you really dare to think big. Among us veteran players, there’s a saying: “The ultimate gaming setup is never the game itself or the gear, the best setup is having good brothers to play with.”

As we grow older, the friends we used to game with move on to family and careers, slowly fading from our friends lists, becoming permanently dimmed names.

After reading your post, I realized this saying can be taken literally too. You really broke my composure here.

In short… your good brother is truly top-tier. Treasure him well.

Darkness Approaches: I mean… people really shouldn’t… or at least they shouldn’t… Never mind, I suddenly don’t know what to say. OP, your idea is technically feasible, but there’s a harder issue than fixing the build’s flaws, not everyone has a good brother willing to become their mount. (Four-Eyed Race sighs helplessly.jpg)

Is This a Beaver?: Hahahaha, bro you’re a damn genius. I think your idea is absolutely workable. One question though, can I borrow your good brother? I just asked around in my guild chat for volunteers to be my mount, and they’re all cursing me. Clearly, my brothers aren’t as understanding as yours.

Drunken Lunar Eclipse Race: Bro, this guide is too abstract. The Star Vein build weaknesses can be patched over time as we acquire more Inherited Souls. But finding a good brother willing to become a mount? That’s a problem I’ll never solve. This guide is beyond my level, totally reshaped my worldview.

Dark Land Is Fun: The devs charging you 128,888 was such a bargain. You guys play with so much freedom now. The Lunar Eclipse Race never implemented a mount system, so you just invented one yourselves? Your sickening creativity constantly makes me feel like I don’t belong. The devs should really tone down the freedom, you’ve gone overboard and started playing abstract nonsense. I don’t even dare imagine what insane builds you’ll come up with next.

Cola With Ice One Sip: OP, send me 100 Sacrificial Power quick. I told my brother about your idea, and he slammed my head three times, then declared it was indeed feasible, but I have to be the mount while he switches to magic and nukes from afar. I refused, and he’s threatening to beat me again. Pay my medical bill already. (God of Wealth clenching fist red-hot.jpg)

This thread left Qi Sheng utterly speechless.

As the designer of the Challenger System, he had never imagined such a bizarre playstyle.

They had truly taken what he provided and run wild with it.

In theory, this tactic was entirely feasible, but as many forum players pointed out.

The problem wasn’t whether the strategy worked, but rather whether you could actually find a good brother willing to sacrifice himself.
