Chapter 75-1: Reunion with Old Friends (1)

The next day.

Qi Sheng received a consciousness link from Transdimensional and learned that the decomposition function had been completed.

After testing this part of the function, Qi Sheng immediately initiated a new round of updates.

A few minutes later, the Challenger Notification rang out in the minds of all players, and the forum simultaneously posted the specific details of this update.

[Challenger Notification (Global Channel): The game will undergo version 1.4 update maintenance. The update contents are as follows:

Posted by: Guide (Official Certification)

Content:

To optimize the game content, this update will modify existing functions and add new features.

Update 1: Soul Decomposition

Introduction: A new Soul Decomposition function has been added to the function panel. Players can use this function to shatter existing souls, recovering 95% of the evolution points.

Note: The decomposition function can only be used on souls that have been detached. It cannot be used on embedded souls. The evolution points obtained from decomposition can be freely allocated to other souls.

Example: After decomposing a level 10 Black-Scaled Serpent soul, 3000 evolution points can be refunded and used to cultivate a level 1 Owl-Headed Fiend, quickly upgrading it to level 9 at 25%.

Update 2: Evolution Point Distribution

Introduction: After this update, a secondary panel ‘Evolution Point Distribution’ will be added to the Star Vein Enhancement panel. Players can freely adjust the percentage distribution of evolution points gained from hunting, allowing focused cultivation of specific souls and yielding a higher evolution point quota from hunts.

Update 3: Trading House

Introduction: A new Trading House function has been added to the function panel. Players can list collected resources, crafted items, and other goods for sale in the Trading House, with free pricing. Each successful transaction will deduct a 5% sacrificial power fee from the seller’s total earnings.

Note: Items purchased from the Trading House can be teleported and retrieved directly via Guide regardless of distance. A 1% additional teleportation fee will apply for cross-regional retrievals.

Comments section:

Endless Night: This surprise came out of nowhere. Just yesterday I was discussing with a brother on the forum about the shortcomings of Star Vein upgrades, like not being able to focus on cultivating specific souls. And now, today, they rolled out the evolution point distribution feature. Don’t know if the Lunar Eclipse race is secretly spying or if it’s just a coincidence… but I’m leaning towards coincidence. After all, anyone who’s played their previous games knows the Lunar Eclipse race’s style: lofty and deaf to player feedback.

Roaring Hurricane: I’m coughing up three liters of blood! I just detached my Gargoyle soul and switched to Owl-Headed Fiend yesterday, and now they release the decomposition feature today? What about my losses? Is the damn official not giving any compensation? I’m so mad I want to punch a Lunar Eclipse member to death.

Is This a Beaver?: Hahaha, thumbs up for the evolution point distribution and soul decomposition features. No more worrying about sunk costs when switching builds. I’m giving this update full marks; they really considered the players’ real experience.

Weapon Master: I love the Trading House function. From now on, everyone can just search and buy custom weapons directly in the Trading House instead of private messaging. Even though there’s a 5% fee, the efficiency is greatly improved. A very convenient setup.

Big Killer: Soul upgrades too slow? Evil Entity hunts too hard? Just head to the Trading House and buy the second-generation improved Psionic Firearms and second-generation Psionic Bombs. Even low levels can have strong output. Everyone who’s tried it says it’s great.

Lunar Eclipse Race Special Official Shill: Hahaha, I was just thinking about switching out my Black-Scaled Serpent soul, and here comes the update. Melee is totally trash this version. I’m switching decisively to Bonefire + Owl-Headed Fiend + Qi Eater for my Star Vein combo. Ranged DPS is the real answer this version.

Scrolling through the comments, it was clear that players were very satisfied with this update.

The only dissatisfaction came from those who had already switched soul builds before the update.

The souls they had detached had been refined into sacrificial power and had not yielded any decomposition feedback.

Qi Sheng immediately offered a solution to this problem, sending the 95% refund in evolution points via in-game mail to affected players.

The wailing in the official update post instantly ceased.

With the losses compensated, previous complaints turned into praise for the update’s content.

This update also meant that players no longer had to worry about switching Star Vein builds. They could freely change soul builds at the cost of only 5% of their initial investment.

This would lead to the development and utilization of many more Star Vein build combinations.

After the update, Qi Sheng decided to start a new round of recruitment.

After the Black Tide’s rampage, the Shadowed Cavern had been vacated. Even low-level newbies were choosing to step out of Emperor’s Mound Village, growing rapidly by hunting Evil Entities.

In Qi Sheng’s view, the raging Black Tide was excellent for the growth and training of new players.

As for the recruitment target group, he already had a clear focus.

Ironwall City.

Night had fallen, and the city lights had just come on.

In one corner of the city, the Veteran Tavern was open for business.

The tavern’s sign was shaped like a giant black shield, with the words “Veteran” printed on it.

Pushing open the door, a deep, magnetic jazz melody slowly flowed out, forming a stark contrast with the bustling modern clamor outside.

The interior decor of the bar carried a vintage charm from a few centuries ago. The dim yellow lights filtered through ornately carved brass chandeliers, casting a retro glow over the space. Several yellowed, old photographs hung on the walls, capturing battlefield group shots from the era of the Mechanical War.

The bar counter was made of dark solid wood, its smooth surface reflecting the colorful glass bottles and exquisite bartending tools. The bartender, dressed in a classic white shirt and black bow tie, skillfully shook the cocktail shaker. The air was filled with the aroma of whiskey, cigar smoke, and a faint floral scent.

The chairs and sofas here had been worn by the passage of time, their surfaces faded.
