Chapter 62-1: The Lottery Event (1)

Primordial Altar.

Several glowing energy tracks spiraled around Qi Sheng, covered in countless complex characters. He lowered his head, carefully examining the connection nodes between the characters and the tracks, as well as the changes in the energy flow through the pathways.

The energy tracks and characters were the materialized analytical structure of the Celestial Rune Combat Technique gifted to the players by Broken Star.

With sacrificial power, which held the ability to transform all things, Qi Sheng could completely replicate the operation path of the Celestial Rune Combat Technique, turn it into a product, and put it on the marketplace for players to purchase and use.

But there was a problem, the Celestial Rune Combat Technique’s cultivation system was not suitable for humans.

The human body’s structure differed from that of the Celestial Rune race, including meridians and internal organ layouts.

When the Celestial Rune Combat Technique’s energy path was simulated within a test human body, the results were far from ideal.

The external energy that entered the test body ran rampant through the meridians, causing severe pain and discomfort. If the energy could not be quickly redirected, it could rupture blood vessels and threaten the test subject’s life.

The reason Zhou Xiao was able to safely use the Celestial Rune Combat Technique was because he had absorbed a special energy stored within the Information Stone. This energy helped Zhou Xiao digest the external energy, refining and nurturing it before releasing it into his body to enhance his physical aptitude.

In other words, Zhou Xiao’s body had developed a simple energy absorption organ that simulated the Celestial Rune race’s internal structure.

This discovery greatly piqued Qi Sheng’s interest.

Replicating this simple organ was not difficult for him. Nor was replicating the already fully analyzed cultivation path. As long as he had detailed structural data, he could perfectly recreate anything by consuming sacrificial power.

He could even embed the replication process into the Challenger System as an automated program.

For example, the spirit stones sold in the marketplace were created after he fully analyzed the internal structure of spirit stones.

To simplify production, he had automated the sacrificial power conversion process. Once a player clicked to purchase a spirit stone, the sacrificial power conversion program within the Challenger System would activate, and the produced spirit stone would be delivered directly to the player via the spatial system.

With Guide providing detailed analyses, replicating both the simple organ and the Celestial Rune Combat Technique was not difficult.

The hard part was that he wanted to create a universal absorption and conversion organ.

The Celestial Rune race was merely one of the countless races in Monster World and not among the top-tier ones. Their cultivation techniques held little value in Qi Sheng’s eyes.

But aside from the Celestial Rune race’s Body Tempering Combat Technique, Monster World had many powerful cultivation techniques.

All these techniques operated by aligning with the world’s natural energy flow, drawing threads of universal energy into the body, refining and nurturing it, and then feeding it back to strengthen the body.

Some of these Body Tempering Combat Techniques were extraordinarily efficient at absorbing universal energy.

Qi Sheng’s research goal was to create a ‘universal cultivation organ’ for players, allowing it to perfectly adapt to all cultivation techniques from any race, enabling flawless operation regardless of what technique the player learned.

Moreover, the organ would automatically record the operational paths of the player’s learned techniques. Once a player mastered a Body Tempering Combat Technique, they could activate it with a single click.

This would allow players to remain in a continuous cultivation state, gaining Body Tempering experience while hunting or mining.

Of course, he would not offer this mode to players for free. Activating the universal organ would require sacrificial power far above the base cost.

It would essentially be an in-game burnable subscription model within the built-in marketplace.

However, at present, he lacked any real samples to analyze. With only Broken Star’s Celestial Rune Combat Technique to reference, Qi Sheng had no way to proceed for now.

Just as he was pondering how to solve this problem, Guide’s water sphere materialized from the void and hovered beside him.

[Boss, Transdimensional is calling.]

Hearing this, Qi Sheng stopped thinking about the universal organ problem. With a thought, a light screen appeared before him.

On the screen, Transdimensional sat blank-eyed among lush, flourishing greenery, blending into nature.

“Boss, we’ve hit a snag with the Armed Vehicles development.”

“Sacrificial power running low?”

Scratching her head with a silly grin, Transdimensional replied.

“Building this system requires adding a new energy conversion framework on top of the existing system, so it consumes sacrificial power. The last recruitment wave cost 2 million sacrificial power. After adding recent income and deducting my production expenses, you have 390,000 left. At my current development pace, it might impact your ability to issue rewards soon.”

Hearing Transdimensional’s explanation, Qi Sheng frowned slightly.

After a brief pause, he nodded at the figure on the screen.

“Don’t worry. You continue developing; I’ll handle this.”

After ending the call, Qi Sheng had already figured out how to fill the sacrificial power gap.

Though he only had 390,000 sacrificial power on hand, the total in the Sacrificial Power Pool was 2.48 million, of which 2.09 million belonged to the players.

While he wouldn’t casually dip into the players’ sacrificial power, in critical moments like this, it still had to be used.

Directly taking it would be inappropriate.

If for any reason the player group needed to rapidly consume sacrificial power, it could leave the pool underfunded, severely impacting their gameplay experience.

Thus, the correct method was to find a valid reason for players to voluntarily hand over part of their sacrificial power, avoiding the risk of future liquidity issues.

He already had a clear plan.

In fact, Qi Sheng had designed this solution back when he first built the Challenger System, waiting for the moment sacrificial power ran short to put it into action.

That plan was… a lottery!
