Chapter 169: Dragon Slayers

.........

Limbo

Eidolon P.O.V.

The battlefield pauses for the arrival of Sadurang, the God Dragon (don't know if he can claim the title of god, but he is an Asgardian at least), taking flight from the lava and hovering above everything in his serpentine form, clad in red scales.

The dragon that I am 99% sure that is Sadurang doesn't even introduce himself to confirm my assumptions; he simply opens his draconic jaw and roars.

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It is an unrecognizable loud sound, moving the winds and exerting pressure on everyone in the area.

But my Omnilingual powers tell me the truth. "It is a chant." I raise my right arm to create a huge honeycomb magical shield in front of Raven and me.

Swwiiiish

And surprisingly, formidable icy winds are emitted from Sadurang and hit everyone on the battlefield, including the demons that I thought were his allies.

"I thought he would be spitting fire on us." Illyana emerges from a blue light behind me.

"It seems he learned ice magic to cover for his obvious elemental advantage." I say "He is not only a dragon, but also a sorcerer called Sadurang, I suspect." I inform her

Crack Crack

The windstorm continues to hit my magic barrier, making it brittle and tearing it down slowly.

"Do you need my help?" Raven asks on the side.

"You can raise a barrier now; this ice storm is only a smokescreen." I warn them "Here it comes, the dragon breath that you wanted, Illyana."

Fwooosh

Many things happened at the same time.

Behind the storm, a small beacon of light appears and immediately grows as it flies toward us. My barrier was hit by the pillar of fire, and I let it dissipate as Raven protects us with a dark bubble.

The heat dissipates the storm, but the sudden change of temperature makes the air expand and create a huge turbulence around us.

"Ice and fire, a good way to make any barrier break." I explain to Illyana as a part of her education.

Raven has some battle experience, so instead of holding her ground to tank the dragon breath, she allows her dark bubble to be pushed back, absorbing the kinetic force as she uses the momentum to move up and get out of the line of the attack.

"What she did was pretty smart, Illyana. You should learn from her and be more flexible." I say "I told you that omnidirectional barriers are a waste of energy if the attack is coming from only one direction, but they can be used like this too, and the dragon's breath was pretty wide."

"...I am flexible too." She pouts. No, she is not; she is very headstrong.

"Just saying to fight smarter sometimes and not make everything a contest of raw power against you and the enemy. It will only tire you out."

Seeing that we dodged, Sadurang stopped his dragon breath. From our point of view, we see that the battlefield, which was covered in snow previously, was suddenly look like it was from the beginning.

Or the magical blizzard that he summoned can't last too long, or his fire, together with the volcano, melted it pretty fast.

The dragon stares at us with his odd eyes, and my gaze can't help but move to the unnatural green one, which is like that because of the Eye of Agamotto in his pupil.

I really want to check that thing, but for now…

"You two fight him." I say

"What?" It is Raven that turns to me

"Yeah, I don't think he is that much above you two in power. A fight against him will serve to bring you guys close to his level." I explain

From the little that I saw, this guy is much stronger than Loki, at least. I mean, his abilities are absolutely leaning more towards destruction than deception through illusion, like the Trickster God.

I think he would give Thor a good enough fight to be told in a legend if the two fought. And adding the unknown element that is that "fake" Eye of Agamotto… I will first watch how he moves before ending this fast.

"Okay, let's do it." Illyana, that is always ready for some smoke, immediately resummons her Soulsword and grins.

Raven, on the other hand, is not so keen on joining the confusion. I know that is because she doesn't really like fighting unless it is to defend people, but this is for her own good.

"Fighting is a good way to test your abilities, Raven. After the fight, I am sure you will have new insights and experience some growth. You should try that new magic you are developing." I say to convince her.

"..." She doesn't say 'yes' but I know I got her

"Go on, give some support to Illyan while she stretches her wings. I will be here observing."

"Doing nothing?" She asks with a raised eyebrow

"On high alert to intervene. Like now…" While we are talking, Sadurang lost his patience and opened his mouth again.

It seems he is a little cautious in coming close… can he feel my power? I thought I suppressed it pretty well. Maybe it is thousand years of experience.

This time, his dragon breath is more like a laser that he uses to swipe at us.

Zwwwooon

It has an incredible destructive power, creating explosions through the line that it draws on the horizon, but that also makes it easy to dodge.

I simply teleported a few dozen meters down with Illyana and Raven before pushing them forward.

"Do your best." I encourage them like a coach sending small children to play a sport.

"Ugh, you are so annoying…" Raven groans

"Let's fucking GOOOOOOOO!!!" But Illyana is hyped. I really need to talk with her about those… tendencies. But I am not gonna step on her moment.

Despite Illayna's eagerness, jumping at her opponent immediately, the first move will be mine.

So that she can enjoy her battle without interruptions, I release a wave of my Conqueror's Haki against all the mob. My power also attracts the attention of Sadurang, even though it was never aimed at him.

That created a small opening that I taught Illyana not to let go to waste. She jumped and shortened the distance by opening a portal just below Sadurang, points to her for aiming at the dragon's belly, and slashed upwards with her sword.

The soulsword flares with power, looking like she is holding a light blue flame, and a wave of energy is emitted by Illyana's attack, hitting Sadurang.

Fsssshhh

Unfortunately, it seems that even his belly has a lot of resistance because it just looks like some fire licked his body, damaging his scales a little, but nothing skin deep.

Illyana's eyes widen at that. A first good direct hit doing no damage to your opponent is always discouraging. I know that she has the potential to do better… but does she?

This battle will answer that. It will be great if she reaches her own answer without my help, but if she fails, I will guide her properly later.

Sadurang roars and moves his serpentine body like a giant whip to strike Illyana below him. The blonde girl is not so discouraged that she will be caught off guard by an attack like that when she can teleport.

A flash of blue light envelops her just before Sadurang's tail covers the area where she was.

Boom The tail hits only the air, creating a shockwave after breaking the sound barrier.

Illyana, the crazy girl she is, did not even hesitate in appearing above Sadurang's head and dropping down on him with her sword in hands, aiming the tip of the unstable blade at his eyes or, at least, his forehead.

He noticed her and raised his head to meet Illyana while opening his jaw, unclear whether he would try to chomp her whole or blast her with a dragon breath.

His intentions will remain forever unknown because that is the moment a dark magic circle appears on the ground below him. From the building-sized magic circle, a black bird claw appears and stretches until it reaches the dragon and clutches Sadurang's face, closing his jaw shut and pulling him down to the ground.

BOOOM

Sadurang's chin hit the ground with a loud sound, being buried in a crater. Illyana arrives just a little later, dropping down on Sadurang like a meteor.

BAM

The soulsword hitting Sadurang creates another flash of blue light, but I saw that in the last second, the dragon sorcerer had created a magical barrier to defend himself.

It was destroyed, but absorbed the blow enough that when the soulsword touched his scales, he was once again not damaged.

I see Illyana's frustrated face, but I ignore it and continue to casually defeat the demons around. I am even being merciful enough not to kill anyone. I want to investigate them first… and there is a small chance those guys might one day become Illyana's subordinates.

If I am not wrong, in the main timeline of Marvel, even the suckers like S'ym eventually became her bitch at some point.

"Azarath Metrion Zithos." Raven makes another move, and big dark chains start emerging from multiple magic circles around him. They pin Sadurang down tightly, forcing his body to become taut like a bowstring.

Hm, I need to have a little talk about the lack of offense on her part. Raven has such talent for destruction, but her pacifist ways lead her to prefer restrictive methods.

That was good and understandable when she was fighting an inner battle against her evil demon heritage… but she doesn't have her father breathing down her neck anymore.

Again, it is okay if she truly is a pacifist who doesn't want to hurt people, but I know that she is not exactly like that. She is still holding back for a reason that doesn't exist, and I don't want her to get hurt because of that. Or letting others get hurt, because I also know the guilt would eat her alive after she realized this flaw and discovered that she could have saved someone if she had given her all.

That is all hypothetical and may never happen, but my job is to think about those scenarios and steer the wheel of the ship of destiny away from them.

To escape his restraints, Sadurang's body starts changing; he goes from a serpentine dragon form to a much more traditional Western dragon look. The length of his body shortens while getting muscular, especially in his chest and shoulders, like he is redistributing his mass.

"Interesting transformation… it is like Jake Long's change from season 1 to 2, but in reverse, and it is not a downgrade like in the American Dragon cartoon." I can't help but comment loudly. Such a cool cartoon, it was not a Ben 10 or Avatar, but it had the potential to rival Danny Phantom. Such a waste…

Now, with his much more muscular limbs, Sadurang pushes himself from the ground and…

"ROOOOOAAAAAAARRRR!!" He snaps Raven's chains at the same time he stretches his wings and roars to the sky.

VOOSH BOOM

With a flap of his wings, and now, with a much more powerful upper body, Sadurang shoots into the sky so fast that crater rings spread around him.

"He is getting serious." I warn Illyana and Raven telepathically. I can see the surge of magical power around him; it was like he changed to "combat mode".

High in the sky, Sadurang looks down and roars again, one of his eyes shines green, and suddenly, dozens of giant magic circles appear behind him. The impressive thing is that each circle is different; he is using a great variety of spells at the same time.

"Is that really the Eye of Agamotto? No… An Eye of Agamotto… I see." The pieces are falling into place. But why should she…

Pandemonium breaks out when all that magic is unleashed.

All elements fall from the sky like it's the end of the world, magic blasts too, in different colors and probably with different effects. There are even some illusory images of giant hands and a mountain peak falling down.

Tch, look at this guy going overkill… No class at all.

Despite the circumstances, I raise some shields to protect not only myself but the area beneath me. Sadurang is not aiming at his own stronghold, but the collateral damage would spread a little too far.

'Is he even aware of his own power? Recent power-up, huh?'

As I still need to investigate this place, I can't allow him to damage it, so I do my part as a benevolent hero.

On the side, Illyana and Raven deal with the chaotic barrage in their own way.

Illyana blinks in and out of existence to dodge immediate, dangerous attacks before she finally disappears for real.

And Raven, with a dark bubble around her, bounces around before also getting out of range, releasing a wave of darkness as both counterattack and a way to propel herself backward.

To my happiness, Sadurang follows her immediately, and the battle moves away from the stronghold. After making sure no demon below can escape that easily, I continue to watch the battle

Apparently, Sadurang changed bodies to have a more physically oriented battle. It makes sense that the more humanoid body of a Western dragon, when compared with his previous serpentine one, opens up many more options to fight physically.

It has fewer weak spots, too, after shrinking. But even after that, he is still large enough to throat a double-decker bus without choking… Okay, that is a strange way of describing someone's size. I meant, swallow…

He is at least 300 meters in length and just about the same in wingspan.

"He is like Smaug on the move, but three times bigger and more muscular." I comment as I look at his red scales. His mouth opens to try to swallow Raven, and apparently, he succeeds, but his jaw is forced open by a dark bubble that she created and expanded.

That would be an excellent opportunity to blast him with nasty magic in his innards, but Raven just uses that opening to fly back.

And that gave the initiative to Sadurang, who sweeps with his huge dragon claw at her. Once again, she puts a dark bubble, cracks, and sends her to the ground like a cannonball.

He opens his mouth again, and power gathers on his mouth, another dragon breath is coming…

Boom But Illyana reappears and smacks his face with a swing of her sword.

Raven immediately follows up with a machine gun-like barrage of dark blasts on his wings.

Okay, at least they are jumping him properly. If you have a two-against-one advantage, you don't let your opponent rest.

Raven's dark magic damages a little Sadurang's wings, but not enough to mess with his flight ability. And to be fair, I can see he mostly uses magic to fly; his wings are closer to a turbine, something he uses to propel himself in a direction.

To prove a point that Raven's attacks didn't do much, he opens his wings fully, and two grey magic circles appear behind each.

FLAP WHOOSH

A single flap creates two calamity-level hurricanes. The wind is strong enough to destabilize Illyana, who was annoying him like a fly, and to attack Raven.

This guy knows how to fight… He is already preparing his next move… oh, that is… Hehe, perfect. It will be a good setback for my little disciple.

Above his head, a semi-transparent magic circle appears and grows at breakneck speed, so fast that not even I would be able to move away without teleporting. And it covers the whole mountain range.

To be fair, it is not an offensive magic, which is why it is so fast.

It is a space-sealing spell, similar to Dimensional Lock, that I acquired after assimilating Ainz. It prevents people from teleporting in the area, and again, the area he established is huge.

Heh~ See, Illyana? Your enemies are not NPCs, and magic users are resourceful; they are all "Batman" in their own right. Now let's see what you will do…

The blonde girl only understood what was happening when she tried to open a portal, but she was only able to make a flickering light.

"!!" Her eyes widen, and a shadow covers her body. Looking up, she sees Sadurang's claw already aimed at her body.

My finger twitches… ready to interfere…

VROM TAK

But Raven did well by raising a small mountain with her magical telekinesis, the peak hitting the dragon's wrist to divert the attack, and at the same time pulling Illyana with a dark string.

Sadurang barely paused, continuing his onslaught with claw swipes while Raven rescues with Illyana firmly held in her telekinetic grasp.

Illyana tries again to make portals, but they all fail.

Another dragon blast that Raven blocks, and my disciple finally looks at me.

"..." The sight must be discouraging. I am only looking down at her with my arms crossed. I can see the pleading in her eyes, something unconscious that the prideful Illyana showed in this moment of weakness.

But I don't budge. She is smart, and she will figure out that I am not helping because she can overcome this.

And as expected, she grits her teeth and looks forward, seeing Raven putting herself between her and Sadurang pisses her off, and she advances to attack even without her teleportation abilities.

Well… that is not exactly the path forward, but okay… She can fail. No problem.

You can tell whatever you want about Illyana, but you can't say that she is not brave. Some people would even say that she is crazy… Look at that tiny human charging at a colossal dragon.

She wants all the smoke. Hahahaha!

A proof of my training and the effort she put into it, Illyana was able to hold on even without teleporting. I trained her to reinforce her body with magic, so she is not helpless.

She moves between the claw swipes and strikes Sadurang. Unfortunately, she doesn't do much damage.

From this point of view, it is like fighting a boss fight that is scripted for them to lose. They can dodge all they want, but they simply don't have the tools to defeat him, and it is only a matter of time…

Time for a little intervention…

With a one-way telepathic link, I speak in Illyana's mind

"Have you given up on winning?" I timed it perfectly to not mess with her fight, choosing a moment when she got some reprieve so that Sadurang wouldn't get her distracted.

Her eyes widen, but she can't respond. "Why don't you use your teleportation?" I ask with a genuine tone.

But I guess that for Illyana, it sounds like I am mocking her. I admit that ragebaiting is an effective way to push her beyond her limits, but I am being truthful here.

"Are you really gonna let him seal your ability even when you have the home advantage?" I ask before cutting the connection. Now, she only needs to notice.

By the way her eyes widened a little, and how she paused, she must have had an epiphany.

With that, instead of charging on like the headstrong boar she is, Illyana instead jumps back. She shouts to Raven to cover for her for some time and close her eyes before flaring her magic power.

Yep… she got it…

Illyana's Meta power, Stepping Discs, is not a simple portal ability. It is directly connected with the Limbo, using this place as a midway point for her to move between dimensions.

It follows the same principle as Nightcrawler's teleportation, but is much better in my humble opinion. Kurt unknowingly uses the Brimstone Dimension as a medium; Illyna can scan Limbo to where she wants to appear.

I don't know if it is a secondary auxiliary power, but it means she has some level of awareness of Limbo. She is connected to it. This whole dimension is her sandbox.

How can Sadurang's spell work on her here, of all places? If it were on Earth, okay… but here? You're out of your depth, dude. Unless you can lock the space of the whole Limbo, you can't restrain Illyana.

She is destined to be the Queen of this place.

"Aaaaaaaaah!"

Crack Crack Crack

Illyana's whole body was covered in blue energy, her eyes shining in a similar light, and suddenly the space around her trembled… CRASH The spell is broken. The previously invisible magic circle starts falling from the sky like glass.

Sadurang's eyes widen in shock, and he turns his full attention to her…

But Illyana is no longer at that location.

Boom

She reappears behind him and swings her sword at the back of his head, a wave of blue washing over him… but once again, even though it has impact and it even moves his head a little, it does negligible damage.

I can see Illyana's face contort in anger… a different type of anger… a cold, resolute anger.

She doesn't curse, snarl, or anything like that. She only continues to teleport around his body while hitting him every chance she gets.

It is like a fly annoying a person… a fly that can teleport.

Every time he tries to hit her, she is already in another place, using the opening of his movement to strike an exposed spot.

"Hm? She is in the zone…"

I noticed that her teleportation gets faster and smoother with each use. Her strikes get sharper and more polished every time they hit Sadurang.

Oohh~ Now she is surpassing my expectations…

Her Soulsword, which always looked like a blue giant copy of Kuwabara's Spirit Sword from Yu Yu Hakusho, starts changing shape. It is gaining form… it is getting sharper, like a proper greatsword.

She is reaching the level of her Main Timeline self when she is much older.

Ziiiin Buchi

Another strike, but this time a gash appeared on Sadurang's scales, and dragon blood flew in the air.

"...." A brief silence covers the battlefield.

Both Illyana and Sadurang looked at that blood with surprised faces, not even Illyana was expecting to hurt him, she was so focused on her task and not on the result… But now the surprising progress shook her out of the Zone.

"You little-" For the first time, Sadurang spoke, his voice hoarse and full of anger.

Illyana, on the other hand, smiled brightly…

I mean, not bright per se… It is not a smile that should appear on a child's face.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Now you are fucked!!!!" It is full of teeth and predatory, and at the same time very bratty.

Illyana… people will think I am a bad influence if you keep acting like this.

What comes next is like I am watching Captain Levi cutting Zeke… a very angry Captain Levi with a shining sword and teleporting abilities.

Illyana appears everywhere around Sadurang, leaving wounds in his previously pristine scales, coloring them with a darker color of red, his blood.

Nothing he tried worked because of that absolute truth… Speed is the best stat. Everything an enemy can throw is useless if it can't hit you, and teleportation is the highest form of speed.

Instant Transmission at least.

The tide of the fight shifted, but the saying about "killing someone with a thousand paper cuts" isn't very realistic in this scenario.

Eventually, Sadurang is gonna adapt. He is not the boss of a video game with a limited AI. So I turn to Raven and send a telepathic message too.

"Are you gonna let a 12-year-old do all the heavy work?" I tease her.

She turns to me and frowns angrily. "Look who is talking." Sending a message back, even though it was originally a one-way conversation.

"Touché, but you are her partner, and I am her teacher." I answer "She is growing, which means I am doing my job properly… and what about you?"

"..." Look at her glaring… You can't win a battle of words against me, girl. I was chronically online.

Just a little more push. "Go on, aren't you creating a spell? What better way to test it than in battle?"

My logic makes sense, and I can feel her shoulders sagging as she seems to accept it.

Raven slowly starts floating up, eyes shining with a dark light, hands crackling with magical power.

"Azarath… Metrion… Zithos…" She starts chanting, slowly repeating her famous words as she raises her hands above her head, palms and fingers pointing toward Sadurang.

It takes some time and, apparently, a lot of concentration, but Raven finally shoots a purple ray of light at Sadurang. It is so fast that the dragon has no time to dodge. I also saw him raise a shield after noticing the attack, but the ray passed through it.

But strangely, the attack doesn't appear to do any damage; it only bathes Sadurang in a weak purple light.

Did she fail? Or does he have some resistance against her magic? It would be a very unlucky matchup.

Even Sadurang is confused… But the truth is revealed a little before our eyes.

His body starts shimmering with the same purple light and slowly disappears, as if he were a ghost.

I frown and pay attention… Is she making him invisible? Impossible… Some sort of battlefield removal, maybe.

While I am activating my All Seeing Eyes of God to understand, Sadurang starts panicking.

He roars and starts trashing around crazily in the sky, trying to fire some magic, but the spells come out incomplete

"What in the-" Realization hits me while I notice that the juxtaposition of his body and soul… it is disappearing.

No, his body is disappearing. She is forcing him into astral projection while deleting his body…

Scary as fuck! What sort of bullshit is this? Magic is unfair.

This is not exactly killing, but it is pretty close to it, and a death sentence in any way.

As a pure soul, or astral projection, he will be even more susceptible and vulnerable to magic; he will be put in her hands; it is game over. And because of the imbalance between body and soul caused by the process, he can't even use magic to stop it!

Sadurang understood that, and that is why he reacted so strongly.

The process is a little slow… It would be really scary if it were instantaneous, even more so with that seemingly indefensible property.

If she can perfect it…

Unfortunately, while it is a good attempt, it will remain only an attempt and not a success.

Sadurang will not let Raven's spell take hold, and as luck would have it… he has the means to protect himself. He roars to the sky, brimming with raw magical power, instead of trying to construct a spell and his left eye emits a green light that covers him.

His body instantly materializes again… he finally used that Eye of Agamotto… Oh, he is angry… This is dangerous.

Eight magic circles appear above him, and pile on top of each other, and then they join in one… A small flickering light shines in the center of this eighth-fold fusion spell, but I make a move.

Ziiiiiig BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Summoning the Sword of Actuation, I make a cut on the radius of the circle. I did not destroy it with the Thangarian Mace so that the energy doesn't escape in all directions.

Instead, with my precise cut, the energy of the spell escapes mostly behind him.

I am teleporting again, grabbing Illyana and moving in front of Raven to shield the two.

Even with most of the energy being directed in the other way, that spell was so powerful that some of the power escaped in this direction, too.

It is like a shot from a malfunctioning cannon.

"He practically nuked us; it was an attack with the same destructive power of Belasco's self-destruction at that time." Illyana comments at my side.

Thanks to the distance and the fact that I am stronger, I can divert the power to move around us with a cone barrier and many other powers.

"He is really extracting his money's worth of that Eye of Agamotto." I comment

"Eye of Agamotto?" Raven shows interest; she already knows about it.

"It looks real, but I don't think he got it from the Ancient One. I believe that is something Evil Jean gave to him, from her own universe." I explain my theory

"For free?" Illyana asks

"As if." I scoff. "Anyway, his danger level has increased a lot now that he is using that thing. Even in the case that is a fake or a nerfed version… we can't take a risk, so I will tap in." I step forward as the explosion starts dissipating,

"But I was almost getting him!" Illyana whines

"I will give you the opportunity to help at some point… but that is also a good opportunity." I extend my hand in front of me. Now we can finally see Sadurang floating in the eye and brimming with power. "You have progressed a lot in this short amount of time, but you still have a lot of untapped potential… Watch closely. Answer my call… Sword of Durant."

Boom

The greatsword drops from the sky with a loud sound. It is incredibly thick, silver and black, with some gold inscriptions. I grab the handle and point at Sadurang.

Time to show off a little.

Whoosh

And I throw the sword at him. I can feel everyone's surprise when I suddenly use that colossal weapon like a throwing knife. The sword spins in the air in the direction of Sadurang's head.

The dragon raises his hand to stop it, the movement almost contemptuous.

Yeah, yeah… underestimate me…

Buchi

They never predict the teleporting sword blinking out of existence, bypassing their defenses and hitting them straight in the face.

So that is where Durant ended up, embedded in Sadurang's nose.

I also teleport there, grabbing the handle again, removing the sword, and spinning on myself to deliver a heavy blow to his forehead.

BAM

........

Illyana Rasputina

The 12-year-old looks with amazement at the display.

Using the teleporting powers only in the sword? Theoretically, she can do that… but because she knows that she potentially can do that, she understands how difficult it would be.

Opening a disc at the perfect time and place, not once, but two times, for the attack to go perfectly. It requires precise calculations and coordinated power.

"Maybe I should add more spins in my fighting style…" She comments absentmindedly while watching Eidolon swing, using his whole body. He really loves his spins.

He always tries to drill into her that she is not an average human and she shouldn't be restricted to average human fighting styles and rules, but it is still hard to remember that during a fight.

He swings with his whole body, and even so, he shows no opening, because he never stops moving. How is he even assessing the situation? His spatial awareness is on another level…

'Wait… theoretically I can do that too…' With teleportation power, she obviously has a secondary power that gives her some level of awareness of her surroundings.

Why is she always relying on her five senses again? Ah, she is still fighting too much like the average human…

Illyana watches the rain of blood with a calm face. Eidolon's strike is much stronger than anything she can dish out, opening a huge gash on the dragon's head.

Sadurang roars painfully in the sky, but like a good fighter, he focuses and prepares his counterattack.

A giant dome composed of magic circles appears around the two.

It is like a honeycomb, but instead of hexagons, it is magic circles.

Sadurang wants to bathe himself and his enemy in so many spells that it will drown them. Without a doubt, he has a way to protect himself while hitting only Eidolon.

But then Eidolon throws the sword again. It spins and goes straight through a magic circle, breaking it… and it disappears in a flash of golden light.

And it reappears just in front of another magic circle on the opposite side.

Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash Crash

The sword appears only to do its job and disappears, flickering in and out of existence and destroying the magic circles one by one.

Sadurang's attempt was frustrated, and the sword disappeared one last time to reappear above Eidolon, and the hero grabs it, finally interrupting its trajectory.

Illyana knows that he only threw the sword in a straight line, but with a clever use of teleportation powers, he could change directions to control where it goes. In some way, the result was no different than telekinetically controlling the weapon.

Only that is much harder to do so… but on the other hand, it is equally hard to deal with this kind of movement if you are against it.

After that, he does something Illyana is familiar with, the same thing she did earlier. He starts teleporting around Sadurang's body and attacking him before disappearing to attack another body part.

But he does it so seamlessly, so perfectly, that it is not even possible to see him. Only the golden line of the slash and the wound left behind confirms that he was there.

If Illyana didn't know better, she would think that he is invisible, but that is not true. He is making a demonstration for her.

Not only is he doing it with much more control, but the number of slashes is overwhelmingly higher. Sadurang is covered in a net of golden slashes while he cries in pain in the sky.

Illyana can see that he tried to counterattack, with both magic and his physical attack, but Eidolon dealt with it so fast that, from the untrained eye, Sadurang is just a helpless sandbag. Eidolon is not only attacking him randomly, but each attack is also planned before Sadurang can move to keep the dragon helpless.

"That is ridiculous…" How can he predict so many moves ahead?

The slashes cut the tendons of the body part that it moves, it also dissipates the magic circles, and…

"AAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHH!!!"

While Sadurang was distracted in the storm of slashes, Eidolon crossed his defenses and buried his whole arm in the dragon's left eye, pulling something shining green from there.

That enrages Sadurang as nothing has been done before; he looks livid, so much so that he even started bleeding more from his wounds. He throws a desperate claw swipe at Eidolon.

The hero disappears from his spot before he is hit and reappears behind Illyana. It was so fast that it made her jump in surprise.

"Throw a flying slash at him." He commands while waving off the blood that was coating his arm up to the elbow.

She doesn't ask why. Illyana only does as she is told, pulls her Soulsword back, and prepares to do as she was trained.

Whoosh

She releases a five-meter-wide flying slash, the blue crescent moving toward Sadurang.

Whoooosh

Behind her, a golden light shines, and Eidolon's own slash passes above her head. His is much bigger and faster, catching up with hers and, to Illyana's surprise, absorbing her own slash, causing it to grow even larger.

"Feel it…" She hears his voice behind her. For a moment, she is confused before she notices that her slash was not entirely destroyed; she can still feel a little connection with her magic power inside his attack.

When the attack was almost hitting Sadurang's magic barrier, which he had erected while the two were talking, the slash disappeared in a flash and reappeared above Sadurang.

"Hehe~ He should already have been used to that." She hears Eidolon chuckle, and a flash of light later, he disappears.

Eidolon reappears above Sadurang while the dragon is falling down because of the previous attack. He drops down on the dragon, but just when he is about to hit, he disappears again.

Eidolon then reappears again in his previous spot above Sadurang and drops down on the dragon, but when he is about to hit him, he disappears one more time…

Eidolon once again reappears in his previous spot above the dragon…

That pattern repeats one, two, ten, a hundred, countless times maybe…

Each time, he is falling faster and faster, so much that he basically becomes a streak of golden light looping in place between those two teleporting points, accelerating infinitely while using minimal space.

WHOOOOOOOOOOSHH

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

When he is seemingly satisfied with the momentum he has accumulated, he falls down like a smiting strike from Heaven, his path becoming a pillar of light that hits Sadurang with all he had.

The impact was as destructive as the dragon's previous nuclear-like attack. Luckily, Raven and Illyana are far enough to only be hit by a shockwave that Raven can block.

When the dust settles, a huge crater appears with Sadurang lying on it, finally defeated.

Eidolon floats above the body, and Illyana needs to admit that he is pretty cool. He didn't even remove his cloak to fight, so now it is moving with the wind to add style points.

"Maybe I should get a cape…"

Sadurang's colossal dragon body starts shrinking, and Eidolon beckons them from coming closer. Raven floats while Illyan teleports, and when they arrive, Eidolon is standing over a man.

Ignoring the damage to his body, the man looks old, balding, and bearded, but every remaining hair on his head is still pitch-black. He is tall and muscular despite wearing sorcerer clothes.

His left eye is gouged out while he coughs blood on the ground.

"Now… why don't we introduce ourselves?" Eidolon talks with a cheery attitude, like they are not into an earth-shattering battle just a minute ago.

If Sadurang had some other ocular power, Eidolon would have been attacked just by his hateful glare alone. But Illyana can see something extra in that gaze… fear, and even some respect.

"Cough Fine…" The sorcerer finally says with some resignation "What do you want from me?"

"I only came here to talk." Eidolon tilts his head innocently.

"..."

"....."

"...." Sadurang coughs up blood again

"Aha! I knew this dimension was a bootleg cultivation world!"
